AH HA I remember what my question was (4 days late *shot*)

How will Laguz transformation take place? Will it be instant like in games and preserve whatever the person is carrying (like clothes) or will it be more like a werewolf, spouting fur and changing shape over a short time? Might be problematic with changing in a fight while wearing armor though. Or anything for that matter.

Elg'Cahl

Recently discovered by one of the exploration teams, the toxic world of Horreur is home to the Elg'Cahl. Standing at around 4 foot tall, an average Elg'Cahl is covered in a dense brown, gray or rust colored fur thick enough to protect from the dangerous weather and poisons of their home, as well as fangs, claws and small slashing weapons. Their heads are similar to wolves, long snouts filled with sharp teeth meant for tearing as they are primarily carnivores.

Their world of Horreur is several times larger than Earth, inhabited by creatures and plants that have evolved to survive in its hostile enviroment. The air is heavily laden with chemicals, capable of corroding most metals that aren't treated to take the punishment at an alarming rate. The Elg'Cahl are not yet space-faring at the time of contact due to several reasons, the first one being the heavy gravity and impure metals that, while able to resist corrosion from the atmosphere, are too weak to handle the stress of breaking orbit. Their technological level is comparable to 1950 Earth, however, their advancement has been slowed down to the fact that they are, as a species, naturally aggressive. Wars are common, and on two occasions they have almost brought their own kind to extinction with the sheer level of fighting that occurred. While they are organized, they are based off a power hierarchy, one that is constantly shifting as different families and individuals either get stronger or are killed off.

Due to their home planet's high gravity, they have evolved a dense bone structure and compact muscle mass for their small size, making them deceptively strong for those who don't know of their kind. While they can stand straight, the curve of their spines causes their natural relaxed posture to be slightly hunched over. They have digitigrade legs, each foot having three large toes and their hands have four fingers, both fingers and toes tipped with black claws. While both males and females are around the same size, females tend to have more gray or rust-colored fur. Males also tend to be more aggressive, many speculating that it is because of the 'Alpha' instincts from before they began forming into an actual civilization. While their kind is considered high-risk, there are some that off-worlders have taken from their home, whether it be the Committee to examine them or attempt to integrate their kind or pirates and mercenaries that use them as fighters in exchange for the promise of violence.

Their blood is poisonous, black with a green tint, but the green becomes more pronounced the more poisons they've been exposed to. With the naturally high levels of poisons and toxins in their atmosphere, they have developed an extremely strong resistance, becoming immune to both natural and manufactured poisons. It is to the point that if they don't get any form of poison for several weeks to a few months, they will start getting symptoms such as increased heart rate, dizziness, and sudden fatigue. As they are uncommon outside of their home world, the only way to combat this effect is to keep some form of poisonous food or liquid close in case they begin feeling the symptoms. They live a little longer than humans, usually around the age of 130 Earth years, however actually reaching that age is extremely rare.

Bio: Taken from her home world by a group of pirates who had intended to use her as fighting slave, it became quickly apparent that she wasn't going to be doing their dirty work by force. After several disastrous attempts, the Captain of the crew opted to offer her a place on the crew itself, her fighting abilities in exchange for a share of the spoils. The promise of violence and being free of the small room she had been contained to made her quickly accept, and she soon adapted to their lifestyle. Shyr's curious mind eventually led her to begin pulling things apart to see what was inside and how it worked, starting small on things like laser weapons and slowly got bigger, up to computers, generators and even the engines of captured ships. The pirate gangs success ended half a year later when they were attacking a ship and a Galactic Security forces arrived, causing them to immediately surrender as they knew they were outmatched. The crew was quickly sentenced for their crimes, but Shyr was a difficult case. While it was undeniable that she had helped the pirates, she did so without knowledge of the laws after being kidnapped herself. Eventually, it was decided that she would be returned to her homeworld, but this idea was met with heavy resistance from her as she was adamant about remaining in space, wanting to explore and discover all the new things in the vast darkness. They tried to argue her out of it, bringing up that the only place that might fit for an Elg'Cahl would be in the Expedition Force, a group dedicated to exploring the unknown with a high casualty rate. Much like with the Raiders, she didn't have to think long at the promise of saving her wanderlust and violent tendencies, so after a short three-month course on mechanics and engineering (so she actually knew what she was tinkering with) she was shipped off to to the Monroe.

Personality: Shyr is a surprisingly happy and upbeat individual, curious about both people and things around her. She loves to find new things, but above all else, the one thing that makes her the happiest is the thrill of a challenge, especially if violence is involved. She is a very fast learner, notable with how fast she picked up on advanced engineering.

She shouldn't be here. She really should have thought this through more before she had managed to get herself 'invited' to come along. Not only did the number of guards put her on a finer edge than a master crafted skinning blade, the number of people that were also joining the Prince was more than she was expecting, thought that was a foolish mistake on her part. He was, after all, the Crown Prince on an important mission, and therefore would require a large escort in case things went poorly for the group. As she looked among the group, she did have to wonder how half of them actually did manage to get placed in the group, although a few of them it was quite obvious that their connection to Eli himself was the reason. From her spot off to the side, she did a quick head count and began noting different things about each one.

The masked man leaning against the side made her uneasy right off the bat as those who stayed to the side like herself were often more observative than most, so when he went to speak with another woman she actually felt a touch of relief. The rest of the group was a mix of strange, from a Bard to Knights Mercenaries, the group actually looked like it would be able to hold their own in a decent fight, though they would have to do without herself in those. While she was for certain not harmless, she would much prefer not to get involved in too much bloodshed, her fight was with any doors and walls they might encounter. Suddenly the Prince himself shot through the area in his usual excited rush and Tiu couldn't help but smile a little as she kept an eye on the hyper kid. She let out a short sigh before a sudden loud bang made her stiffen, eyes widening as they shot to a man that was sitting at the table, having dropped a fist on the table to announce that someone would be arriving. She settled her heart rate back to normal as she wondered just how much stress hiding her species from this many people was going to give her. She was honestly more worried about the younger ones that were more likely to be curious, but she'd deal with that when it comes.

Appearance Description: Stands at 5 feet tall, is rarely seen without her cloak on and never seen without her armor. A portion of her old scars from her inprisonment that can be seen on her forearms, but most of them are covered by her gloves and shoulder guards. Beneath the hood she has short brown hair that seems to remain untamed at all time. Her Laguz form is quite large, standing at almost 3 feet at the shoulder and weighing in at almost 200 pounds.

Personality: Tiu is a very methodical and close to the chest type of person, as for the last portion of her life she's had to hide almost everything about herself from others around her in fear of being attacked or captured. Everything needs to be thought out, planned for and executed perfectly for her, as she refuses to let her freedom be taken from her. She dislikes violence and will only fight if she has to, or if someone she cares for is threatened. Even then she carries no weapons and fights with only her hands and feet, using her speed and strength from her Laguz blood to catch people by surprise.

Biography: Hailing from Mirivia, Tiu spent the first 8 years of her life quite happily, growing up in a small tribe that kept on the move, avoiding trappers and other groups that meant them ill. This quickly came to an end when the tribe moved too close to Cesadas' border and attracted the attention of a large trapper group. The attack was fast and brutal, leaving many of the older Laguz dead or injured and the younger ones captured to be trained and traded, Tiu included. After almost a year a buyer from Ibion took interest and purchased her to have as a slave maid, the traders promising that she had been broken in already. This was proven wrong as when the ship had almost reached the shores of Ibion, she managed to pick her cage lock, knock over a lantern and flee the burning ship, swimming to land before disappearing. Over the next 7 years, she struggled to survive with no one to help, no family to rely on or friends to speak of. She learned to hide everything about herself that might give her true nature away, from never making eye contact so others wouldn't see the slight glow to her eyes to eating in small bites to keep her sharp teeth concealed. Her hair was naturally unruly and easily covered her ears if she keeps them folded down while her tail was kept curled around her waist. However, on a chance encounter, she ran into none other than the Crown Prince Eli. While wary, a small part of her mind began thinking, becoming more dangerous as time went on and the two of them eventually met a number of times away from prying eyes, sharing some of her wanderings and adventures to the curious Beorc. While she never told him her full secret, she began trying to make him her friend, in hopes that when he some day ascended the throne, he might have a better outlook on her kind.

Inventory: Tiu travels light, only carrying around a set of lockpicks at all times, as well as a small purse of coins.

Other: Tiu retains a mild fear of direct contact from her year of 'training' by the trappers, as well as being afraid to let anyone close enough to touch her head in case they feel the odd shapes in her hair. This often has her sleeping in out-of-reach areas such as trees or rafters.

@Aquanthe Lions are also a bit taller than what I'm having Tiu, usually averaging somewhere around 4 feet, a bit less for females. I was basing most of my numbers off of more speed-based cats that average around 3 ft in height like the Jaguar. The reason I initially wanted to use a Margay was simply that I've always loved what they can do with their back legs.

Figured I had it low enough as most similar sized felines like cougars and jaguar are around 250 to 300, but if you want I'll drop it to around 200. Still heavy enough to be a threat to anyone not wearing heavy armor.

@Ambra The reason I made her rather short is the timing of her capture. I'm basing it off human growth, so her growth spurt would have either been in captivity being fed only how much is needed to keep her alive or a while after when she was struggling to survive. Her Laguz form wasn't as affected because anything she hunted had to be eaten raw as she didn't have the tools to cook or skin anything. I'll change her type to Cat, as I'd like to keep the contrast between her two forms.

Oh Lord, a guy that likes chatting with the ladies with a hate for Laguz because of one that was disguised as a thief. This has all sorts of potential to be a hilarious mess.
