I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

Name: Alexander Sky

Age: 24

Sex: Male

Appearance:

Personality: Alexander is someone who, though a kind person, is also bitter, cynical, and only outwardly optimistic - he puts on a happy face in front of everyone, is brave enough to fight for his friends and what he wants, but at the same time, also highly disappointed at himself for past failures and mistakes.

- - - - (Power Matrix)
Abilities:
- Alexander is a Stunt Pilot for a Gyrocopter (Steampunk Airplane/Helicopter equivalent), but said Gyrocopter got destroyed in the beginning of the game, making this irrelevant unless a new Gyrocopter is found.
- Sunny Day: Alexander can make sunlight appear out of nowhere, even in dark places.
- Solar Excellence: Alexander can improve one mundane skill to supernatural heights. He can make someone into a master bargainer, or himself into a master swordsman or shooter, or make people better fighters in general. The limits are that 1.) It only works on skills that aren't already enhanced with Magic, and 2.) It can only work on one person at any given time.
- Shield of the Sun: Alexander can create a Magical Shield.
- Fusion Burst: Alexander's most powerful offensive ability, the young man can release jets of superheated gas from his fingers that are literally as hot as the Sun.

Weapons and Equipment:
- Jian
- First Aid Kit
- Money
- Food and Water

This is a grow-as-you-play RP, meaning that you should have a general idea for your abilities, and improve them in-character whenever appropriate (not very often)

But for what I see right now:

Solar Excellence: Alexander can improve one mundane skill to supernatural heights. He can make someone into a master bargainer, or himself into a master swordsman or shooter, or make people better fighters in general. The limits are that 1.) It only works on skills that aren't already enhanced with Magic, and 2.) It can only work on one person at any given time.

Even in this universe, this makes like NO sense. I'm not allowing it.

- Fusion Burst: Alexander's most powerful offensive ability, the young man can release jets of superheated gas from his fingers that are literally as hot as the Sun.

as hot as the Sun

No.

I think focusing on light/heat based abilities is your way to go.

@Necrophage Right-o, friend. There will be more slots opening in the future between chapters, as well as if/when people leave, so you'll be free to jump in whenever if ya ever change your mind.
Will's spot has been vacated.
Thoris, The Ocean Shore

Gorgonzola!

As Jenso and Ainra made their way down to the city's shore, rested at the mouth of the massive cave city, they were greeted by a short old woman in purple robes, who held a small oak stick. On top of the stick was a green orb that glowed bright colors, as if it were magical! Knowing this place, it probably was!

"Yo-ho! Tis the prophetic one! And... Some lady," the woman said, immediately glaring at Ainra with venom in her words. She turned back to Jenso and smiled, revealing a set of broken/missing teeth. "Hehehe! I suppose you've come here for guidance, little one? And guest," She snapped at Ainra again, her expression changing to one of hatred every time he looked her way.
@josephbI shall wait on you. You can meet Alex half-way if you'd like, but either way I'll post afterward.
Xena Rock Field

Underneath the Lone Tree

Brian immediately waved his hand in a dismissive manner to Onweer's offer. The occurrence beforehand paired with a storm of begrudging thoughts had ruined his appetite for quite a while. It wasn't the best reaction, though. The survey mage hadn't eaten since they'd left Arcadia, and despite having no urge to quell his hunger, wasn't feeling very up-to-snuff. He sat down in front of Onweer as she began talking to him, listing the problematic nature of their situation, things he had already known, with a curious glare.

"No, no, I don't-" Brian paused for a moment, holding his breath and placing one hand over his heart anxiously. "I don't think it wise to do anything against Sydney's will, but right now, I'm not exactly thinking very uh... Rationally? This whole thing, if somebody was behind all of it, I think I'd be more comfortable taking my chances against the wilderness. As horrible as it may sound, I um," Again, he paused, clutching his chest. Throughout his speech, Brian was only able to make eye contact with Onweer for brief moments, between fits of scanning his surroundings. The grooves in the tree, there'd been at least 15. They were surrounded by at least 16 large boulders. The birds that soared overhead didn't dare to come within 100 feet of Xena. All of it was pretty useless information, but Brian needed to do whatever he could to occupy his mind, lest he fall into a state of panic. With a deep breath, he exhaled the rest of his statement quietly, "I'd prefer that. I'd prefer it over walking towards my certain doom, at least."
I've taken charge of my character, his chains are a my~ster~y OoOoOoO
Krunk-Mobile, Prisoner Bay

HOLY SHIT THERE'S BEEN A BREACH!

The arrogant little guard glared at Zerraf's hand, half-expecting the man to be overtaken by his drunken stupor before firing his little finger gun in a comedic fashion. The Krunklet's hand when limp for a moment before he clenched his fist. "Then you're in for a beating, BUDDY- WHHHHOAA!!!" This prisoner was without hesitation! It was unfortunate the the smug little ball-breaker too, as he was caught in the brunt of Zerraf's magical gust, knocked far back by not only the force of his magic, but the force of the prison bars against his fat little head. Several other nearby krunklets were also caught in the wind, or struck by stray bars, sending them to the ground, or flying across the prison bay.

As Zerraf swung his head to the right, he would notice Dr.Krink rushing over to the ruckus he'd caused. Krink was only slightly perturbed, being such an intelligent and level-headed scien"-WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING!?" Oh, whoa, guess not! Krink rushed over with nearly twenty soldiers flooding the space around him, creating a single unit where he stood only slightly taller than all of his subordinates. "MAGIC? HOW DARE YOU TRY AND ESCAPE WITH SUCH DIRTY TRICKS! KRUNKLET SQUAD #329, CRUSH HIM!"

Without further being-useless-and-round, the twenty-or-so little men rolled up into their armor and tumbled towards Zerraf at a surprising speed. Some rolled around him, others straight towards him, but only the very brave (Or perhaps mentally challenged) soldiers attempted to bounce and strike him from above.

Meanwhile, the krunklets and krunlites that were busy with keeping the other hostages secure began to take notice of the disasterous escape that Zerraf had enacted, how dare he! HOW DARE HE, they thought.
"Can't say I would, bucko!" The man sitting next to August retorted, chuckling like a hyena to himself. "Why so obsessed with the whole gender-thing, amigo? The only thin of the utmost importance is that we get off this ship, posthaste, chumbo!" He began cackling to himself, and fell over onto his right side, shaking and laughing with his hands still bound by sea-stone handcuffs. The chains rattled violently for a few moments before he ran out of steam and sat back up, silently frowning at the corner of the cell. "Aint it a shame, though, friend..." He rasped.
@thewizardguy Es no problamo amigo.
Diver's Paradise

Northern Area

The oncoming CMAS soldiers immediately began backing away when Alvios demonstrated his mastery of Ki for them to witness first hand. Many uttered faint gasps in disbelief, frozen in time when the Ki-master unleashed waves of his bright energy into the pillar's structure, taken aback not only by his unique powers, but the fact that he'd made their jobs even easier than they would have expected. Of course, his intention was not to help the invaders, but they would have no time to ponder what exactly the Diver legend was thinking as the large section of stone came crashing past their ranks, crushing their entire platoon in an instant and sending large chunks of debris every which-way. Most of the north western pillar's squad turned to witness this occurrence is disbelief. A massive chunk of the pillar's stone tore through their ranks like over-sized shrapnel, stopping just in front of Par and the north-western Divers as it crushed their barrier-conjurers without fail. Par's grenades had exploded prior, dealing minimal damaged to the barrier, but his follow-up shots with his rifle were enough to break what little formation they had left after Alvios' attack. "What the hell was that!? Luke was supposed to be gone! Who in the world-" A CMAS mage's voice was cut off as a round of A/A tore through his skull, fired by one of the Divers allied with Part at the north western pillar.

"Take that!" The nameless Diver shouted, "For the paradise!"

Alvios' speech echoed powerfully through the underground cavern, inspiring his allies and granting them a surge of morale. The remaining CMAS soldiers were torn to shreds by arcane weapons and melee prowess alike, clearing the northern attackers out in mere minutes. With Alvios defending this side of the Paradise, the attackers stood no chance, even in such great numbers. If only they had an arch-mage by their side...

Paradise HQ - Tinon and Laura's room

"WHAT IS HE DOING!?" Tinon Shrieked from his windowsill, "I thought I told Alvios to visit the stockades south of Hyznia! Why is he still here? And why-" Tinon stopped himself and breathed deeply, mulling over the situation in his head. "Well, I suppose this is good. With Alvios around..." Tinon paused and turned to Laura, who was half-smiling at the reveal that Alvios was still nearby. Tinon's disgruntled facial expression melted away at the sight of his wife's assurance, but this wasn't over yet. "The southern exits have been overwhelmed... The pillars won't hold much longer-"

"I shall alert Alvios!" Laura shouted, falling into another trance. Within moments, Alvios would receive a psychic message, clear as crystal, from Laura herself.

Alvios, they need you at the southern pillars. CMAS mages are also pouring into the main square and destroying whatever they can. The Divers can protect everything else, but you cannot let those pillars fall!

Xena Rock Field

Underneath the Lone Tree

Brian nodded as Yvette spoke, somewhat disgruntled by her order. Cecil, Yvette, Onweer, Kenny, Himself, and two other CMAS soldiers remained. It was true that their squad was still 7-people strong, but to what end would venturing further bring them? A gruesome one, he thought to himself. Without delay, not being held back by Yvette's orders, he followed Onweer out of the ATV, but not before glancing Ebenezer's body over with a hint of despair. It's funny, the man who once struck fear into his soul was now dead. Humans weren't very durable, regardless of what magical theory they abused. It was the ultimate truth, unfortunately.

"You can't possibly be ok with this," Brian asked abruptly, standing near Onweer after she'd reached the nearby tree, "This... This whole mission reeks of sabotage..."
