Brendan nodded, ready to make his way with the other two. "Maybe going in someone's room is better, more privacy...and hopefully it won't look like we're trying to be secretive." Brendan could feel his anxiety increasing. What was worse, for the wrong person to hear what they said? Or for the wrong person to think they were keeping secrets. Well, they were keeping secrets, but still. Could they trust Rhianonn? Millicent seemed to think so, and Brendan trusted Millicent...really the only person he had any reason to suspect so far was the rich lady, but Millicent had a point. Two dead people, could be two killers. Plus whoever sent those texts...

He followed the other two wherever, absentmindedly, trying to run the numbers. Up two three bad people and how many people in this house? What percent chance any given person they were talking to was a killer...unless more then one person had conspired to kill someone? Brendan hadn't even considered that. Oh god.

Brendan nodded to Millicent, glad to be alone again. It made sense, she didn't want to move or change. He could actually understand that feeling…ecxept for the murder. If she was the murderer, she was going a bit too far. If she was the murderer, they were interacting with her and being in a room with her quite a bit….He’d be fine as long as Millicent was in there with him, right? She wouldn’t murder two people at once…?

He pulled himself from his thoughts and looked back to Millicent. “Yeah. She certainly seems like she doesn’t want things to change…do you really think she’d kill because of it? There has to be some evidence we can get…catch her in a lie…or….snoop through her stuff or something, we have to be sure.”

As Brendan made his way with Millicent towards the room, they overheard. Sam was asking something about Elenore choosing who got to go, and Lena saying that it was about potential.

So Elenore had approved Brendan? It was hard to imagine that any of these rich people would have picked someone like Brendan. Well, maybe Wadsworth would have. But the others?

And did Elenore know who nominated them all? Brendan so desperately wanted to know the truth. Maybe if they did snoop Elenore’s room, he could do some side snooping to try and find that out. Surely there would be time for a little side snoopage…no. That didn’t matter. People were dead.

Still, that was weird. People who could be quite important? Brendan was just a drag queen who won some local contests….and whoever left the notes…it couldn’t have been Elenore. She wouldn’t have chosen Brendon then, right? He was confused. The notes leaver had to be someone not involved with nominating or Le Lune. But the killer….there were two deaths now. Was there two people killing? This was getting complex. He glanced over at Millicent, trying to see what she thought of what they’d just overheard.

"He wants to leave?" Brendan asked. Who would want to leave the chatubo, Brendan wondered, it was so cool and fancy, almost perfect, except for the lack of boats and excess of murder. Actually, now Brendan could think of why someone would want to leave. "Does he have somewhere else he wants to go instead?" Brendan asked. "It's nice here, isn't it?" Brendan hesitated, "...What do you want to do?" he asked, hoping it didn't seem like pushing. But if Elenore did want to leave, maybe that was something. Some grudge against someone else here? Not wanting to host the competition anymore? Maybe Elenore was the killer. That would be a great way to get the competition cancelled...though surely two dead bodies was not good for property value, if she did want to leave...then again she was rich, maybe it didn't matter to her?

Brendan was surprised. Did Millicent really think it was good to start being more bold? Then again, maybe it was a good idea. They needed to figure out what was going on. Maybe if it was her, and they caught her in the act, she'd get scared to keep on killing. Or, better yet, she'd do the movie villain thing, and start monologuing her plan, and they could record it and have proof for when the cops got here, if the cops ever got here. Did people do that in real life? Reveal their evil plan once caught? It seemed like it would be a bad idea, and no one had ever done it, but also, would the trope really be so popular if there hadn't been real life cases?

Brendan nodded, agreeing with Millicent, and trying to be brave. If he looked scared or like he wasn't sure when questioning someone, it wouldn't work. He needed that confidince. If only he'd had time to get in drag that morning, he kept thinking, though he was starting to wonder if there was anything that would help him feel brave in such a weird situation.

He followed Millicent back to Elenor, smiling politely as she offered their help again. Millicent then started the questioning, although subtly for now, talking about how she was worried about Richard. Brendan nodded, following her lead. "He really seemed upset. I feel so bad for him. He really did seem lost." He went quiet after that, waiting to see what Elenor would say.

Brendan nodded. He trusted that Millicent's instincts were right. Elenore was who they had to talk too. They'd have to be careful, if she was directly involved, they wouldn't want to make her suspcicious. They'd have to act like it was just casual conversation as they helped her with what she asked them to do. Brendan tried to stay calm, though his heart was starting to beat faster. Even if Elenore was dangerous, they'd be fine being with her if they also had each other, right?

"I think you're right. We'll stay together while we're with her. What do we say to her? We can't let it look like we're directly questioning, or getting suspicious of her?"

Brendan hesitated, unsure what to do. If Richard didn't even know about Renee, then who did? Renee knew about him, right? He'd gotten a text saying she'd been looking for him But she couldn't nominate herself, could she? Who had those texts been from before? Brendan was confused. Was he recalling things wrong or was this all just not making sense? He looked up again. Richard was crying. Brendan had no idea what to do. He sat down as Millicent spoke, asking what he knew. Brendan nodded as he sat.

His head was in a rush as he thought of all the things he could say. He could tell Richard that Renee had been looking for him...but would that just make him more sad? He could reassure and tell him they would figure it out...was that too sad too? Shit. "Anything you know will help. We'll figure this out, we promise," Brendan said. In truth, he was growing less confident in his ability to even keep track of all of this, much less solve it. But he was a drag queen, he could act confident and brave, regardless of how scared he felt inside.

Brendan was surprised. Negative sort? There had been a murder! Of course people felt bad. How were they so casual? Was people dying at their event normal for them?

Richard was looking towards them. He said something about not her first tragedy? What did that mean? Was this a normal occurance for someone else?

Millicent asked about it, and Brendan didn't want to interrupt whatever was going to be said, so he stayed quiet, but looked to Millicent. They should probably go soon to go help with they'd agreed to, but maybe this had something to do with what had happened with Renee. It could be important. Anything could. Brendan was afraid he'd go about things wrong and miss information. Millicent seemed focused though. He was glad he was with her. Maybe he could learn something from her, or at least help figure things out. And sooner or later, the boat would return, right? They could leave, and get to safety before whatever happened to the others happened to them?

It was working, people were reacting. Brendan was amazed with Millicent. She really knew what she was doing. There was a comment about how anyone who wanted to could leave, a sentiment almost as ridiculous as having this much money but still only buying one boat.

Millicent commented on this too. Brendan nodded, "Yeah, didn't these guys only have one boat? And someone took it to the mainland and hasn't come back yet? Where would we go?"

Millicent continued, ending with pointing out how someone had just lost a child. Brendan knew who she was aiming that at, though he was afraid to make a big deal by turning to look and see if there was a reaction. He hoped Millicent would be able to see, and tell him later. Her delivery was incredible, he wondered if he'd ever be able to talk her into doing drag. She would be incredible at those 'read down the opponent' challenges. Or improv. Or theatre.

Though it wasn't acting when Brendan responded. "It is really sad. I wish I could call someone. It's awful, what happened." He ended the sentance there, trying not to think about it too much.

Brendan sat with Millicent for awhile as they ate, and Brendan tried to think about everything and stay calm.

Millicent seemed lost in her thoughts as well, Brendan tried to figure out what to say. Finally Millicent spoke. She asked Brendan what he thought about all this, and wondering why things were going as normal even after the deaths. She spoke a bit loudly, but her eye contact had an alertness to it that showed Brendan what she really was doing. She wanted to see if anyone would react.

Brendan gave the same look back, just for a moment, before going along with it. "Oh my god, right? It's weird. Not that I'm judging our hosts....they've been lovely...but..."

Brendan resisted to urge to see if anyone was looking at them. He tried to stay in the moment. Millicent was smart, and he really respected that. Finding away to keep searching for information, even as they ate, instead of just taking it as a break like Brendan had been. He was glad he was with her. They were gonna figure this out, he just knew it.

Brendan followed Millicent into the room with the food. There were some others in already, including Lawrence. He didn't seem to notice Brendan, or at least, he didn't realize that he was the same person as Ivanna. Lawrence left quickly anyway.

Brendan looked at the food, trying to get his mind off his anxieties. There was some kind of salad, which almost looked okay, except for an unfortunate green bean contamination, a sandwich that was maybe just a normal sandwhich, pastries, and stuff to drink. Brendan took a bit of whatever was green bean free. He hesitated by the food. Even with the green beans, it felt like a safe spot. Something his mind could get busy on that wasn't completly awful.

When he finally did turn around, he was startled by the empty space. He'd taken so long that Millicent had already sat down. He made his way over to her. She was sitting far from anyone else, which was probably smart. He took his seat across from her, making light conversation about whatever she wanted to talk about, in the back of his mind, trying to figure out what he was going to say to Elenore.
