The highest, most decisive experience is to be alone with one's own self. You must be alone to find out what supports you, when you find that you can not support yourself.

The core of an individual is the mystery of life, which dies when it is 'grasped'. That is also why symbols want to keep their secrets.

Bio

The Harbinger of Ferocity

Agent of the Wild, Aspect of the Ferine
Nature, red in tooth and claw.

"There is, indeed, no single quality of the cat that man could not emulate to his advantage."
- Carl Van Vechten

I am, at my core, a personification and manifestation of those things whose blood and hearts run red with the ferocity of the animal world. It is this which convicts and controls my works, my writing, my being; the force and guidance in which I gain wisdom from. It is what inspires me as a creator and weaver of words, the very thing I admire as an author.

My leanings, savage as they are, are of the feline sort as there exists no greater lineage of beasts whom can be drawn from. No others captivate and motivate my talent and skill as the greatest of cats do.

There you have it, @Ojo chan 42, @Cuddle Pot. The Great Beast is tracking her through the wilderness that she's evaded into.
A distinct, familiar scent wafted itself into the air, filling a small portion of a rough hewn trail that it was confined too. The vibrant eyes, alight with primal might, followed the nose as it drew in closer to inspect what it already knew; mortal's blood. It coated a rare path, appearing here and there upon leaves, stones, and even the earth itself. Nothing much, so not a grievous injury, but a distinct one all the same to the heightened senses of the great feline form and its inherent connection to life as an overarching concept. Unexpected was this turn of events, the introduction of someone this far and lost from home, and with how fresh its scent was as it filled the fang laden jowls? Not long ago, either.

The scale of a mighty paw toyed with the soil beneath it, turning it over and rubbing it in slight between the padded digits in thought; its tremendous pelt twitching faintly at the shoulder, the figure clearly debated if this had some sort of impact upon its goals. It was... strange, unusual at worst and a divine messenger at best. Few mortals would dare so far into the wood, so far away from home and safety. No less, the crossing of this path with his own was unlikely - he avoided dabbling in the affairs of the realm of men unless need be, but here in the domain of nature, this was his grant.

Looking on, seeing the trail before him, the leviathan beast started quietly up it; almost fading from sight in the forest, its clever, yet ornate mixtures of earthen brown and rich tan rendered it near impossible to see between the trees and the rays of light that drifted from above. Each grand paw bringing with it no sound, it moved like the spirit of the wilderness that it was with graceful concealment.

It would find this woman, whoever she was, and it would learn why fate would have it that she crossed an aspect of this world's path.

In essence, yes, @EruditeAssassin, to escape a Grapple. You beat the check initially, so you should be good to take a normal action.

You could however, use your breath weapon reasonably in a grapple if you were grabbed.

You are not grappled since you beat the opposed Athletics check.
@EruditeAssassin, at the start of your turn, unless otherwise noted, you have the following actions always available:
  • An attack action, which is regularly only one attack unless you have Extra Attack or a special ability that permits you more attacks as part of an attack action. Casting a spell takes up this action, as appropriate to its description. Actions in combat, such as the shove action, takes up one of your attacks, if you have multiple; if you have one, it uses that. You have one attack action per turn unless noted otherwise.
  • A bonus action, which is used for two-weapon fighting, some spells or other special class ability. You have one per turn unless noted otherwise.
  • A reaction, which you may use to make an opportunity attack against a foe who leaves your threatened area or some spells or abilities as in their description. You have one per turn unless noted otherwise.
  • And movement, up to your speed, which can be mixed at any ratio to your other actions.
  • Free actions, and no actions, are up to the Dungeon Master and often are combinations of events such as speaking or some hybrid skill checks.

If memory serves, this should be correct.
Entirely up to you, @Hekazu. Sorcerer-warlock is not too terrible a combination, in particular with Hex and Eldritch Blast access, not to mention whatever your particular pact specialization is. As for fighter levels? You could still get away with it, as there is potential and plenty of friendly units in close quarters to aid you.

Outrunning a dragon? Interesting approach to a significant problem.
@Hekazu, download link for your use with the Underdark characters, including shadow sorcerer.
@Hekazu, it was erroneously a +6, rather it is a +4 to damage hence why the roll was reduced by two, but even then it is a sizable value. My role is mostly striker-defender as it is.

As for my array, one of those is not as it seems, but I did roll quite well overall, so I am finding myself in a good place between the boons of variant human and a feat from it.

You are the party's only dedicated spellcaster, so I would say to run wild with it, perhaps even multiclassing into the Unearthed Arcana shadow themed sorcerer.
The entire cast of characters I have wrote for all have been, or still are, anti-villains or anti-heroes. None of them are the sort of persons one should admire as a true protagonist; they are typically capable of less than noble ends to their means and prefer that route if it ensures greater success. It might not be the first choice, but it is always a valid choice, and once the balance tips in its favor they wield it to their advantage.

Building from this, nearly all of them are monsters or have monstrous qualities, with some being overt and actual monstrosities while others are passing for human. Their thematics are universally steeped in feline qualities, with the most extreme being humans with a stroke of savagery to their portrait or those with human-like intelligences, others being uncannily smart beasts which edge closer to being unsettling and alien in thought and emotion.

The best of my characters? They are the result of taking a known person's psyche apart, analyzing who they are at their core, drawing on their usual demeanor, and tweaking it into extreme or unusual circumstance for a story. I find these couple of characters to be the most credible because they are based entirely on real people I have had extensive interaction with; I am able to draw upon a valid, existing resource and allow it to evolve on its own in an unrelated scenario. They're novel mirrors of an individual's most striking qualities.
This might be the means to escape, but leading it from the front? I wouldn't advise it - or abandoning the party, @VKAllen.
My reply should now read consistently as it was a bit off before. If I am fortunate, I can down this guard and set to assisting our dragonborn.
