If you're a night shifter and you have insomnia, what does that make you?

My hands always feel like death. It keeps my patients on their toes.

Bio

I guess this is where I tell a little bit about myself...

ER nurse by night... also gamer/RPer by night. Look, I'm not as strung out as Batman over here, so I sleep during the day. Cut me some slack!

As a night shift nurse, I work 3 to 4 days a week on 12 hour shifts and sometimes more as needed. This severely limits my ability to write/roleplay on those days

I'm 30, for those who care about age. I prefer to play as women--but am willing to compromise as needed.

I'm reliable for around a 3 to 5 minimum paragraphs with good grammar and spelling, usually more. However you would categorize that.

I enjoy most any type of RP as long as it has a well-thought out premise, characters with depth or whom have the possibility of development, legible writing, and of course a great partner!

I love fantasy, sci-fi, dark, steampunk, romance, intrigue, and mature themes more than others. I especially think that most any story can be improved with a bit of romance--if it makes sense within the context of the story.

Negatory on sexual assault or similar themes. I can handle mature, dark, and even very violent scenes. (I'm a trauma nurse at a level 1 trauma center, so you can't really gross me out) but I don't touch on the abusive for abuses' sake. I get enough moral injury at work; I don't need it here. 8P

As previously mentioned, I love games! I love pretty much every type of game--except for racing games minus Mario Kart. May be interested in the right game-based RP setting, but I really prefer original characters if that is what you are after. If I wanted to play the characters from the game... well, I'd just play the game. xP

Sound like someone you need in your RP? Message me! Happy to chat when I can. (8

Xade took in every detail as they group moved through the doors and then the atrium of the castle. The walls were bright and well adorned with art and trinkets; windows of glass and color painted them with the sun's light. She made a mental note to return to these places later to take in the people and sights that walked them. Her awe in this place soared to new heights as they entered the great hall. It was more splendid than she could have ever dreamed. She wondered how a place could exist that was so full of light when the place she was made and grew was so full of dark. It was all she had ever known till now and she wasn't sure that she would ever be able to let it go. As she clasped her soul stone tightly, she knew she'd never let it go in her heart even though her mother might try to squash it.

She looked to the front of the hall as their headmaster and music teacher introduced himself to the new students. Behind him sat other people whom she presumed to be more instructors of their various courses. She wondered which one would be the beauty teacher since that class was first up after breakfast. And, oh, the breakfast looked and smelled divine with what looked to be enough to feed a small army. It made her wonder just how many students there were here. Just as she thought this, the headmaster finished speaking and Madison chimed in with her question.

"This place is..." Xade had to search for the right word here to give her first impression of this place justice. "...it's breathtaking and feels full of life." She turned to face her friends now and she couldn't help the rare smile that now drew itself upon her face. "I think I'm going to like it here." Then she moved forward to sit at a table and eat while they still had time before class started. The smile lingered on her face for a time as she thought about her future here and the new friends she hoped to make.
@Legion02 Maybe I am recalling incorrectly, I just thought that he was less than pleased about the betrothal? He said he'd rather continue the fight than have the peace. He hasn't done anything outwardly against the marriage yet but he certainly doesn't want it.

I may be mistaken and did not mean to step on any toes. (8
@Fabricant451 Of course, not saying that she is an enemy or that anyone especially is for that matter--except maybe her rivals and the Prince of Abhainn, haha--but that doesn't make them friends either. But she does seem to have plenty of motivation for the moment to play to Julianna's side.
@HushedWhispers Well, you have Maddox (maybe) and Aedan. Tentatively Rhoslyn... ? xP I guess we'll see how it goes, haha. It's going to be interesting, that's for sure.

Also, changed my color from purple to green. There was a lot of purple and it was irking me.
@HushedWhispers Aren't you glad now that you have a friend by your side from Sliabh? xP
Xade was pleased when the lady with the list and the slightly irritated face finally spoke up for the role call. She hoped everyone was here as she looked forward to studying and possibly even befriending many of the others here. When her name was called, she promptly raised the hand that was not clenching the amethyst amulet and spoke up. "Present!" She pulled the raised arm back in and turned to watch the others as the rest of the names were called out. This would be a good way to learn everyone's names.
Will post soon!

Location: The Kingdom of Abhainn
Interacting With: Future Queen Julianna Hardin {@HushedWhispers} & Lord Aedan Merryn {@Pundii}

Keir was about to let her eyes and mind wander over the crowd as she settled in next to the taciturn Lord Merryn when the slight whisper of his voice drew her attentions to him. She did her best to retain a neutral expression at hearing his words but a slight smirk made its way to her lips. She kept her eyes on Lady Julia as she responded to Lord Aedan under her breath. "It's astounding he made it this far but the day is young yet." She couldn't truly think to herself that she said it in jest because with Black Jack anything seemed possible. Right at this moment, the thought of Abhainn becoming her new home didn't seem so bad when you compared King Maddox with King Jack; on the other hand, who knew what secrets King Maddox held of his own. Keir hoped to spend some of her time in the interim before the wedding seeking out some of the dark corners of the nobility here.

Keir straightened a bit when Lady Julia turned from her future husband to join her where she stood. Her cheeks flushed red and she cast her eyes down at hearing Lady Julia's remarks. "My Lady, it warms my heart that you would think of me on the eve of your betrothal but I don't know that I could even entertain the idea until I am secure of your happiness. And whatever my beauty may be, it does not compare to yours." She spoke in a quieter tone so that only Lady Julia and possibly Lord Merryn could hear the next words. "Look at your King already; he could not take his eyes from you." Keir met her Ladyship's smile with a mischievous smirk of her own and her eyes danced with the joy of it.

Lady Julia broke with her here to speak with Lord Merryn. Hearing her tease him, Keir glanced at this stoic face to see his reaction. She was glad that he was here to watch over Lady Julia; Keir didn't trust many in this new army of King Jack's but she knew that Aedan could be trusted with her Ladyship's life. He wore the proof of his loyalty to her and her belated family on his face and in his actions; she wore hers furtively in her heart. She twisted the ring around her left middle finger which had been gifted to her by her father on her sixteenth birthday. It was her most prized possession and she took it with her everywhere. She'd spent a lot of introspection becoming comfortable with the idea of traveling to and living in the country that she held responsible for her father's death; she had to reconcile that everyone made sacrifices during the war for this peace and that now was the time to heal the wounds. Surely there were people in Abhainn who were less than enthused about a Sliabhian Queen.

Her thoughts were drawn back to the present when she heard mention from Lady Julia's mouth of 'proper chambers'. How Keir longed for a proper bath and bed. She wondered what Lady Julia's and her room would look like and how hard it might be to find her way between the two. Most days she no longer got lost in the palace of Sliabh. It was going to be a whole new story here, but Keir was confident she could find help if she needed it. Besides, accidentally getting a little 'lost' when she had some time would be a good way to learn the layout and maybe she'd bump into a few interesting people with interesting bits of information while she wandered...

Within reason, of course. Keir wasn't out to make another spectacle by which the Abhainnian aristocracy would be judged. King Jack would stir things up enough for the whole lot of them, Keir was sure.
Alright, gonna grab a shower then post, methinks!

Then I work for the next 3 nights--sorry! But I have 5 days off after that, hooray! (8

Edit: And thank goodness King Jack can't read minds or I think there'd be a whole slew of new executions. <.<
So are we done? I feel like we're done, lol.
