Please tell me WHICH nation you wish to be assigned to. Those who answer first will have preference. At the end, the nations will be rebalanced with an RNG if necessary.
Randomly assigning people to a nation would be easier, it avoids lopsided numbers favoring one nation. But I can already foresee a person or people quitting because they didn’t get the nation they preferred.
@Theodorable Could I vote for #2?

Vote #2 won, so you're in luck. The first nation, Denzgraad, is created. See the first post.

I vote for arranging the players into however many teams are practical, then randomly generating the nations they have to play, then the players decide which position they want to play within that nation (or if they can do a swap of roles with a player from another nation)

I like this idea. So I may be doing nation creation tonight, then creating the application for characters.
In about an hour, I'll consider the "voting" finished and we'll get to nation generation. Still taking more players. The more characters we have, the better.

EDIT: Would players prefer some elements of what kind of nation they want to play or have them randomly generated and then you pick or are assigned?

I’ll leave this up for a few more hours. The more players we can get the better. I’d love to have three nations up versus just two.

Currently we’re on the bare minimum for two nations. This will be a bit lighter than my previous RPs, as nation management is between two nations, not many.
First to five wins. If both get five, I'll break the tie.
Interested.

Any opinion on Option 1 or Option 2?
They're both quite interesting, assuming your job doesn't steal you away again, Theo. :P

This is simply a risk we have to take. I only have one mandatory work trip to Miami until January.: December 12th-14th, so mark it down.

Nation RP - Economics - Politics - Diplomacy

I'm currently designing a Nation RP set in a Fictional World analogous to ours during the Napoleonic Era (1790's - 1800's). I'm wagering between two different setups and would like your input. The two options are below:

1. Guiding a Nation: In this set up, there would be a single PC nation. You would represent ministers, generals, admirals, politicians and even the Head of State in this nation. People would obviously be vying to take control and have their own policies implemented but at what cost? This nation would largely be generated by a RNG, and I as the GM would represent basic plots and outside nation ambitions.

2. A Tale of Great Powers: In this set up, there would be two or three Great Powers. You would represent the ministers, generals, admirals, politicians and leaders of these nations. They would obviously be rivals (Russian Empire, United Kingdom, French Empire, et al) or in a duo (French Empire and United Kingdom, for example), so there would be two layers of competition and conflict: those within your nation and those on the international stage.

The theme however, would be the same: the Napoleonic Era. Let me know your thoughts/opinions.
