Not sure what problem you have with spellbreaking, but I'll limit it. Doesn't make much sense to remove it completely.
@Lmpkio
Yo, you think Darquesse would be acceptable if I removed her magic-learning ability? Basically removing her ability to snowball.

@Archmage MC
Meh, 5th edition wizards are fairly weak. Barbarian-warriors are OP as shit though. But your point basically boils down to 'don't allow Darquesse to have the ability to become a universal-tier char'.
@Archmage MC
Spellbreaker isn't an archetype. It's a speciality or sub-archetype at best, the ability to counter/negate magic.

Having physical capabilities in addition to magical abilities is nothing new. Her physical capabilities also aren't all that bad, considering she's barely a ten-tonner. Compared to chars like Bayonetta she's both slow and weak.

The only part where you have a point is your statement on the snowballing, and I might agree that that's overpowered. But the rest of what you were saying was nonsense.
@Lmpkio
Meh, this was my attempt to tone it down a bit. She's certainly far weaker than Apocalypse, the God Emperor, or even Devimon. But if you think she's too powerful, I can app something else.
@Archmage MC
I defined each magical ability, both it's limits and applications. Not sure what you're getting at.

@FacePunch
She's able to 'see' magic, and understand it. She can also interact with it as if it were physical. So basically she can destroy enchantments, magical shields and the like by tearing apart the magic supporting it. She's also able to interact with intangible beings, as long as they're magical in nature. It's basically the ability to counter and learn about magic.
Darquesse

Age: 18/2
Species: Human (kinda)
Gender: Female
Personality:
Arrogant, self-assured, and ruthless. Darquesse is devoid of empathy, completely incapable of understanding human emotion. She further believes herself to be superior to all other forces, and enjoys the worship of less powerful beings. She is also intensely curious, to the extent of lowering her defences just to find out how much damage an attack would do, and how much it would hurt. While she lacks all empathy she isn't completely devoid of a conscience somehow, and almost paradoxically enjoys performing the occasional act of good alongside the meaningless slaughter.

Bio:
When Darquesse fully emerged from Valkyrie Cain during the battle with the Remnants, she went on a killing spree. While Pleasant attempted to talk her down, she merely ignored him and continued slaughtering the Remnants. While her efforts ended the Remnant threat to the world, she had no intention of stopping there, and proceeded to leave entire cities dead in her wake. A team of shunters (dimension-porting mages) was assembled as a last-hope defence against the unstoppable Darquesse, and she was cast into another reality. Left to wander the Multiverse, Darquesse was instantly pulled into the events of the Multiversal war between the Empire and the Resistance.

Abilities:
[Magical Prodigy]
Darquesse is able to see magic, and can interact with intangible magical beings as if they were physical. She also possesses the ability to negate or destroy magical spells weaker than her own arcane powers. She isn't able to negate offensive magic, but could for example destroy the enchantment on a magical sword. Her knowledge and understanding of magic also allow her to analyze magic, and she will often understand the function of a spell or enchantment after studying it for a minute or so.

[Elemental Magic]
The first school of magic she learned allows Darquesse to utilize and manipulate the elements. She is able to create infernos, fly, shatter rocks with a thought, and create vast cyclones of water. Her mastery of elemental magic is nearly unmatched, and her flames possess the ability to melt through steel and stone with relative ease.

[Necromancy]
While not nearly as advanced as the knowledge of older necromancers, Darquesse is able to use several aspects of Necromancy. She's able to create and control solid shadows with the power to throw cars and tear through steel. Her shadow walls are bullet-proof, and the strength of her shadows increases the more death is nearby. She furthermore possesses the ability to sense living beings, and is able to exert some level of control over mindless undead beings. However, she vastly prefers the destructive aspects of necromancy.

[Augmented Body]
By enhancing her physical form with magic, Darquesse is able to achieve inhuman feats. She can move near the speed of sound both during flight and on the ground. She possesses the physical strength to throw cars and punch through brick walls with ease. Her skin is also incredibly resistant, able to resist being thrown through buildings and hit with missiles. However, she often lowers her durability to allow hits to damage her, her curiosity driving her to find out how much something hurts, and how much damage it would do. She possesses the ability to heal her body nearly instantly, making nearly any damage dealt to her body pointless. The only way to kill her is to destroy the brain. Her healing can also be applied to others with a touch.

Bob chuckles, as he places his hands on his hips. "Oh my. Let me guess. Is it clones? No, that's not it. The soul's the same. And the one I got definitely isn't a fake.... so that leaves only two options, doesn't it?" Bob raises two fingers, before splitting into two beings. One clad in his traditional red attire, the other his female form, clad in a similar blue outfit.

"You're from an alternate version of the multiverse, and, having encountered my vampy friend over here, you decided to travel to my realm. You either want to get back Mithy's soul, or the soul of your alt, probably to make your children in this reality happy." The red Bob spoke.

"You've traveled here from the future, after you've been released from my control. You then decided to avert some catastrophe, probably connected to those Omegans, by traveling back in the past. So you're here to either free your past self, or to inform me of some upcoming event." The blue Bob says, moments after her copy had finished.

Both versions of Bob leaned forward together, grinning widely as they stared at Drac, eyes glowing a bright purple. "So do please tell, which one of us is lying?"
@Frengo
Yeah, I really can't defend the prices of miniatures. As much of a fanboy as I am, I play with substitute minis pulled from my D&D pool. Although I would argue that perhaps your concept of prices in childhood was a little fuzzier than it is now. GW have always been stupidly expensive.

@Archmage MC
There is no way you could make a competitive deck for less than 60 bucks. Especially with new archetypes like the rebuilt Monarchs, Blue-Eyes and Dinomist making their way into the top spots. And the rise of DD decks makes effect damage less and less consistent.

@Letter Bee
Hiya, no problem. I'm a debater, I'm used to having debates on any number of subjects (=
@Letter Bee
It portrays it in both ways. While the worship of many gods on old-earth, or our Earth, is what first gave rise to the Chaos Gods, the spread of a single religion (the Imperial Cult) is said to spread order, and therefore rebuke the Chaos Gods. Hell, according to some sources, the unwavering faith the citizens of the Imperium have in the God Emperor is the only thing keeping the Chaos Gods from ending all human life.

Any secular liberal who isn't pro-LGBT and Pro-female priests isn't deserving of being called a liberal. And the fact that people such as yourself accept and support such ideals is a good thing, regardless of their religion (or lack thereof). But your argument is like someone who saw a picture of slave leia attempting to argue that Star Wars is bondage porn. You know nothing of the universe, the characters, or the deep meanings in the 40K universe, instead judging it by some tiny piece of knowledge you most likely received from a biased source. It's like if I were to read a single passage of the Old Testament, and base my views on Christianity exclusively on that passage. It would be silly, wouldn't it?

The ironic part is that I've had this argument with atheists, who argued that they disliked 40K because of the obviously pro-Christian message, with the God Emperor representing a Jesus figure, leading humanity into salvation. It's silly how quick people are to dismiss something when they see a single element they don't like, unwilling to investigate or understand the context it's placed within.

Edit: Read your second reply, which I originally didn't see. If you wish not to continue this conversation that's fine by me, but personally I thought it had remained civil up to this point, and see no reason why it should turn into anything other than that.
@Letter Bee
So if I understand you correctly, because this universe portrays religion as being a tool used by an overarching evil entity, you claim to hate it? If 40K made an effort to make religion as a whole seem evil in some way, then your statement might be understandable, but this is not the case, as the Eldar Pantheon of Gods are a group of beings similar to the Chaos Gods, but far more benign, born from the worship of the Eldar. The God Emperor is against religion for obvious reasons, but in the world of 40K, there are no real 'good guys'. It describes a world with conflicting opinions and thoughts, without stating with any absolution which is correct.

I would argue that your immediate dismissal of 40K based on your limited knowledge of it and your religious views describes a closed mind, a most unhealthy disposition to take.
