From what I can remember, the only student who has anything like that would be Johnathan, who isn't a first year anyway. Is there anyone else I'm forgetting?
Alright, so for those of you who missed it, all of the first year students will have been told (offscreen) to meet up at the thicket of trees to take an assessment test with Asa, which will be a game of capture the flag. It will be done in order to assess how skilled and knowledgeable the students are at their powers. Non first year students are allowed to join, but they don't have to. I wanted to do this later after the students were given some time to explore the Institute building, but considering that not many people have been posting, I'm just gonna start it now to keep the RP from, well, dying. I'll also send a message to everyone who has a first year character about this as well

MINUTES LATER

AKIKO

Akiko was waiting around impatiently in the thicket of trees near the Institute building. She was told that all of the first year students were to be at the woods area right at 9:00 for some kind of "assessment test" from that teacher who introduced the Institute building. Of course, Akiko being Akiko, she made it there late, getting there close to 9:08. She had spending the next couple minutes pacing back and forth between two of the trees restlessly, anxiously waiting for that teacher lady to get there. "C'mon, what's taking her so long?! She's a teacher, isn't she supposed on time for, like, everything?" " Akiko said mostly to herself, but loud enough for anyone to hear. She had just been really hyped to start learning some channeller powers all day, and didn't want to sit around waiting

HANA

Hana had gotten there too, and she had unsurprisingly gotten there right on time unlike Akiko. Hana was somewhat far away from Akiko, sitting up against a tree trunk and reading one of her books. She was kind of wondering where Asa was as well, but she didn't make her thoughts known like Akiko was. She also figured that Asa was a busy woman and probably had some kind of business to attend to, especially after that situation during the Institute introduction. She also thought it was maybe a little odd for Akiko to be complaining about the teacher being late when she wasn't exactly on time herself, but she didn't dare say anything about that
So, here's a thought that will likely be my next post. Beyond willfull suspension of disbelief for the sake of the story, what's stopping a crop of modern day teenagers from deciding that this whole situation is too good to be true and choosing to not enter the magically appearing castle? Just deciding this whole thing is too weird and strange and reads like the setup for a cult or something and choosing to walk off to try and reach civilization.

It's fine if you want to do that. One of the staff players are gonna have to help him out with accepting it though

I mean, I honestly kinda just feel totally lost. I'm not really sure what to do at this point and I feel a weird paradoxical feeling like this is somehow moving massively too fast and like everyone else seems to think we're crawling. Is it because I didn't really have anyone interested in interacting with my character because...I dunno, I didn't do much or he was obnoxious?

I dunno, I'm having trouble keeping up, I guess? The fact that we seem to get like 20 or so posts every time I have to do some daily stuff or go to sleep might not be helping for me. I know we haven't done anything plotwise, that's not my issue exactly. I just feel like I'm not getting any chance to interact with or react to things and people somehow, despite the fact that nobody else seems to be having a problem.

From the way it sounds, it seems less like the RP is actually going fast and more like it looks like it is from your perspective cause you're not able to interact with it. If you're having that much trouble connecting with another player, I'd recommend finding a character who you're particularly interested in interacting with and talking to that player
Soooo...what does everyone else think about the idea?
AKIKO

"Yeah, whooo!" Akiko cheered as she listened to the speech from Asa, making quite a racket. She had long since forgotten about the incident with John and had spent most of her time thinking about the Institute again. By the time Asa showed up and started talking about the Institute, she was once again super hyped up and excited about the idea like she was when she had first arrived. And when the Institute building finally made its appearance, it blew Akiko's mind. This was like stuff straight out of a comic book or something, if someone told her a day ago that she'd be seeing an entire school building just POOF in front of her eyes, she'd slap them. "Guys...guys, did you SEE that?! That was, like, the most awesome thing I've ever seen!!" Akiko shouted excitably to the others, too amazed by the invisible building that she didn't realize she was probably making a fool of herself. Obviously, she was one of the first in the group to head towards the building, immediately grabbing the giant double doors and opening them

HANA

Hana was somewhat less amazed at the spectacle of the Institute building appearing out of nowhere, as she was a little more familiar with the channeller world and had seen similar things before. That being said, she had still never seen anything quite like that before, and was still rather impressed, mostly wondering how they managed to perform something like that. Unsurprisingly she kept her amazement to herself unlike Akiko, not at all willing to draw attention to herself

Hana felt her stomach churn a little bit as she heard someone greet her. Luckily though, it was just someone giving a passing greeting. Hana politely gave a small wave back, not much more. She picked up her bag from the ground, slung it back over her shoulder and followed the group of people into the Institute's main entrance
So, originally I was gonna have all the players take a couple minutes to explore the school freely, but considering the speed that the RP is going right now, maybe I should just move onto the first mini event that I was planning sooner? Like, maybe early tomorrow?

(For the record, the event is Asa starting a game of capture the flag with all the new students, with powers allowed)
Yeah, Asa has healing powers and I was thinking about making her the nurse of the school. I thought I might be giving her too many jobs at once (mentor, power training teacher and nurse), but it kinda fits her character anyway. But I'd be fine with a dedicated nurse character as well
BTW, everyone can go inside the Institute now. There isn't going to be a solid layout/floor plan for the Institute (at least not at first), since I like the idea of everyone kinda collectively creating the layout as the RP progresses, since it kinda fits with the semi-freeform format I'm intending for the RP. If you do want something to start with, I do at least imagine that the Institute is very big (of course) and almost labyrinthine (kinda sorta like Hogwarts in that way)

Holy Jesus, this blew up

You know it

Whoop, there it is
