Oh, and just for narrative cohesion and to avoid any confusion, you may want to... perhaps, have everyone have the same style Digivice, (unless there's some reason for it to be different story wise) even if it's some custom design for this story, or looks like something specific, like handheld Tetris (as a joke example). And, again, for the sake of the narrative, maybe, (again, unless there's some special reason that doesn't feel tacked on) that the method to reaching the Mega Form is all the same, perhaps your favorite one? Or at least give the option for alternates, like standard Digivolve Megas and Biomerge Megas, so there's at least a bridge between the player characters, and some choose to or don't manage Biomerge for some reason, while some only have it figured out, and not standard/warp. Just my thoughts.

A little farther on his journey, and he began to hear things. Clattering, rustling, a periodic thump. Slowly, the Bo-Matoran approached, and above the billowey leaves, he saw some form of crate, floating in the air.
"Mata Nui," he exclaimed, staring at the slatted sides of the cage as it drifted past, a somewhat calm Brakas contained within.
He timidly looked upon the floating cage, not sure what to do. He wasn't even sure what he was seeing was real, until another thump startled him. He flinched, his weight shifting back, causing him to slip on some loose ground. He tumbled in front of the white armored Matoran who had shortly before thumped the cage.
"Oh, h-hello brother," Hura stammered, in a daze.

Might be interested. Although I feel like if you're allowing customized Digimon, you may want to make a Digimon CS, so that you can see which Techniques the player is using for their respective Digimon, as well as what the customs look like and such, so we have an idea beforehand and no one tries anything sneaky. And this is just my opinion, but an area for things like the Digimon's personality might be helpful too?
