devaronian is the race you're looking for. They're basically thugs for the hutts for the most part.

Man I just can't stick with a DND Group. I'm aware I feel pushy at times but I never intend to push anyone into doing anything. I'm just feeling so dejected at this point.

In general I've given up play by post roleplaying. I only check on occasion due to how NO ONE commits to forum posting in my over ten years of experience.

Bio

I'm one of the surviving members from the event known as Guild Fall. I am a big fan of Mobile Suit Gundam and am very specific on what I want in a roleplay. I have completed two roleplays (one is debateable) and have over six years of roleplaying experience dating back to when I was in Middle School.

Tick's advice is solid.
Fair enough but he kept quite and they wanted to see if Donald wanted to switch out from being a scientist to a pilot that's a big change.
I had a GOT rp that was basically a nation roleplay with each of us playing a singular house with my house being the head in order to control the plot properly. It never goes anywhere. Same with my sekirei roleplay I give people a chance to do something with their characters then we met up and then everyone just packs up and leaves.

Recently I had a legend of korra roleplay that was basically going to be about an equalist communist regime the mixed benders and non benders together to form a sort of soviet union state but the main characters would have thwarted the end game of the villain.

Also I had a code geass roleplay as a sort of what if lelouch died that first day and the JLF (Japanese Liberation Front) took over and became big instead and it would have ended with the success of their version of the black rebellion or the failure due to the main characters inability to do certain things.

Overall most of my roleplays tend to slow down and die quickly before I can do ANYTHING exciting everyone gets so put off by the calm before the storm so quick I can't make a proper story out of it.
Alright as I said expect the main post up tomorrow. I'll speed things up a bit.
I'll post something for Sug tomorrow however he may want to go and post in the ORB roleplay in the meantime. And don't worry the whole OMNI deal is only temporary.
"Hm oh it's you." Paul said as he was just putting on his uniform, medals and all, when he turned around and zipped up his shirt before turning back and looking at Gabriel. "So you made it out alive? I'm not sure if you saw but Naina Peacecraft was gunned down by someone named Gato. It was a quick kill the girl didn't expect that. In all fairness the girl was green and Gato sounded like a veteran especially in how it took the Sundown crew to save Sandrock from Gato." Paul said patiently and in militaristic fashion. It was in blunt casualness and was as cold as stone. "We lost some of our men today. For what? A antique mobile suit? A little girl with strange weapons? And god knows what that Nena girl and that other woman in the giant ass suit have in common." Paul said as he sat down. "Why am I telling you this I wonder Conscript Gabriel? Simple. You get where I'm coming from. And Grant, Beta Leader, and SIGMA don't have the time to listen to the rantings of their lieutenant. But good job out there I was half expecting you to be all talk. You got SIGMA out alive and I thank you for that on behalf of my commanding officer and the crew." Paul commented as he stood up.
My own stigma on advance is my lack of proper sentence structure and simple spelling mistakes that I mostly don't bother going back to change unless I happen to be re-reading something. I go in write it and don't look back. I sometimes add in commas and the like but not always. Sometimes I make really stupid mistakes and I'm just too lazy to go back into. I was once free-level but I grew into casual and the high casual as I wanted to develop better stories and actually give my characters some depth without the need for seemingly like I'm putting in to much work for free. I simply don't have the quality to consistently make two paragraph posts or those massive eight paragraph posts I tend to see in advance that make me shake my head in wonder in how much time must have been spent on those posts that consistently are that big.
"Tutoring? Man you're really going on hard for the studies aren't you anyone else like that?" Mr. Eito asked the class as a few collectively raised their hands as Mr. Eito broke out in a chuckle fit as he looked about with amusement much to Joshua's anger. "What's so funny teacher?" Eito glanced in Joshua's direction then shook his head and got up. "You see kids if you want to learn things then go with the flow you got to feel the rhythm." Eito said with a smile as he took the headphones out of his MP3 player that he had on his desk and started to tap his feet and bob his head to some bad eighties disco music much to the class's disjointed confusion and incredibility. "You see kids if you just learn how to..." Eito said as he spun around in a circle and clapped his hands. "...Feel the beat then you can think easier. School's like a dance get with your own way and don't bother with anyone else. But if you really need it then I'm sure almost every teacher on campus can help you in some way shape or form. Go to see a teacher directly and they will help you. But always try your best to succeed on your own after all you can't dance to someone else's beat but you can sure dance to your own if you get my drift." Eito said as he spun around in a circle Michael Jackson style slid across his desk and landed back in his chair before turning off the music. "See kids it's all a matter of either having or finding your own rhythm." Eito said with confidence when another student raised his hand, "Sir are you on drugs?" The boy asked as Eito shrugged, "I don't think so unless I'm on some drug trip right now I've not had a hard core thing since I was your age." Eito readily admitted much to Joshua's choked laughter at how weird this guy was. "So tell me kids do you like parties? Because trust me you'll like 'em once you start getting to know the real hardasses of this school. Like the gym teachers....especially your year's teacher." Eito said with a cringed face as he looked outside. "Because if you do like parties I can go onto my ne xt order of business."
Simple if you want to limit the character to fit your description of 'not being over powered' then give him or her additional challenges and or put them into increasingly difficult odds or put up additional weaknesses like illness or maiming. One person can only do so much with one arm.
NPC's are characters who, while getting some characterization, are not the main priority in the story. For example Paul Lyons in Gundam Crossover - Those Who Correct finds a Lancer companion in Graham Aker whom is an NPC. He will be the main contrast to the more stone cold militaristic soldier that Paul is and help him develop out of it. However Graham himself could indeed die without Paul, a main character, being much affected by it in terms of being able to continue the roleplay. Unless the NPC is essential, like Captain Jason in the roleplay, then the case is that he is simply a figure head who is there to be the figure head and mentor without the need to make an entire character like I did Paul.

In other words NPC's are there to advance the roleplay while the main characters are there to be essential to the roleplay's continuation. They are the main focus and are the main reason for what is going to happen and will happen in the roleplay. An example of this is it Graham had a 'heel' turn and became Paul's enemy it would mean Paul would need to overcome a close friend in order to move on. If Jason died Paul would need to step up to lead the crew in his stead. It's all about advancing the player character.
