Standing at 158.4 cm and weighing just 49 kg, Madeleine's relatively short but slim and toned figure is not to be underestimated. She's been a fitness enthusiast ever since her older brother first introduced her to the wonders of daily callistenics and body-weight training. This, along with her generally high metabolism has helped her build a surprisingly strong body that packs a serious punch, if need arises.

Her spiky, short, black hair with their peculiar hairstyle has always been a constant bother for her. Whenever people ask her about them, she just brushes them off saying that she just likes them that way. However, that couldn't be farther from the truth. How could she ever say that she can't, for the life of her, fix her bed hair? No matter how much she brushes, irons or whatever, come morning and her hair's back to its original style. Bed hairstyle that is...

As for her fashion sense, it's generally loose. Basically, she will wear whatever seems or feels comfortable to her at the time. One exception to this rule, however, is when she's exercising. When doing any kind of fitness activity, she favors the fitness shorts and single-color tanktops.

Of course, there's her tattoo as well. Although most of the times, only the part that's on her arm is shown, the tattoo actually stretches all the way from her arm, down the right side of her back, and all the way to her right ankle. She got it some time before enrolling in the ECAY, although the reason why she decided to have one is still unknown.

  Personality  
Maddie, as she prefers other people call her (she feels that Madeleine is too formal), is your average laid-back 19-year old. She's very sociable and will almost always get along well with anyone she meets for the first time. She loves music, especially rock and metal, and likes going out with friends. When that's not possible, she will spend time reading a book, watching a movie or doing a light workout. Being the fitness enthusiast she is, she always encourages other people to get into shape, if they are not. She dislikes people that refuse to even try going to the gym once, as well as those who argue that being healthy isn't directly associated with daily exercise (these people exist, believe it or not).

Maddie is also that one friend whose shoulder will always be there, should you want to cry, and will comfort and empathize with others very easily. She likes giving out advice, regardless of the age difference between her and the recipient (she believes the most important thing about others' words isn't experience or age, but the different kind of perspective you get when listening to other peoples' opinions on a matter).

Sadly, however, she rarely truly opens up her heart to others. She hates being a burden and thus when people ask her if something's wrong, she will almost always brush it off as nothing and change the topic to irrelevant things. Few people have gotten her to open up to them and even fewer have seen her cry, as she unconsciously represses those feelings whenever they arise. Nevertheless, if you get to that level of trust with her, congratulations, you have earned yourself a true friend.

She also doesn't really get angry. You'll notice that if you hang around her enough. She generally uses stupid words as substitutes for curse words sometimes and she just doesn't get mad. Maddie has done a good job at not losing her temper over the years. She won't be mean to you if you piss her off a little because that's not in her nature. Pushing her to her limit is tough and well, let's just hope you don't.

  History  
Maddie was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio as the second child to James and Lyna Martell. She, her family and her older brother by eight years, Lucas, lead a pretty normal life... up until that fateful day...

It was a beautiful Friday morning, and a 16-year-old Maddie was returning back from school. At Sunday her older brother was coming home all the way from Seattle where he was working. You see, Sunday was their mother's birthday and thus, the whole house was bustling with excitement. Maddie had saved up a few week's worth of allowance so she could buy a present for her mom. On her way home, she took a detour, going to the nearest mall to search something to buy. 

Shopping, for the most part, was smooth sailing. Maddie knew exactly what her mother liked, so she took her sweet time checking out the clothes and shoe stores for that special something. After half an hour of walking by stores, she'd finally found something. A couple of minutes passed and Maddie waltzed out of the store with a bag in her hand and a beaming smile on her face, thinking about the face her mother would make once she received her present. She started walking towards her house, too absorbed in her own world to notice the black mini-van that had started up the moment she walked outside.

Now, Maddie's father was a pretty well-known and reputable lawyer and as such, the family was pretty well-off, however, this had nothing to do with money. When Maddie was about to cross a road section, a black car suddenly came out of nowhere and stopped right in front of her with screeching sound. Two men in black immediately shot out of the car, one with a gag on his hand and the other with a huge black bag. Maddie, of course, was scared witless but the man with the gag did not give her much time to react. He clenched his fist and punched her right in the gut.

Maddie, although she'd already started working out a long time ago, had no particular fighting skills and as such, could not defend herself from the incoming punch. The girl doubled over, gasping for air. Grasping the opportunity, the men swiftly gagged her, put her inside the bag and dropped her in the minivan before driving off. The whole thing was over in a matter of minutes.

The next time Maddie woke up, she found herself sitting on a chair, inside a dark room. She tried moving her hands and legs, but she realized she had been tied tightly to the chair, and the chair itself was embedded into the concrete floor below. Next to the chair there was a table with multiple surgical tools scattered over it. 

Of course, her 16-year-old mind couldn't handle the realization that she'd been kidnapped, and by the looks of it the person who did it was ruthless. As she silently wept, thinking about her family and loved ones and the fact that she might not see them ever again, the door to the room opened and a tall man in a suit walked inside with a phone in one hand and an indescribable look on his face.

He and Maddie looked each other in the eyes silently as he grabbed a chair, dragged it over in front of Maddie, took off his jacket and placing it on the chair, and sat down. He then introduced himself as Mister J. The man went on to explain to Maddie her current predicament, why she was kidnapped and answer all other questions she might have had.

As it turned out, Mister J was a well-known drug kingpin that worked underground. His little brother, X as he named him, was caught a month ago by the cops while he was taking care of some cartel business with the Mexican Mob. He was trialed, found guilty of drug trafficking and sent off to jail. Mister J explained that his brother was always the feisty one, his loud mouth always got the better of him but Mr. J still loved him to death. Unfortunately for X, the inmates he called pigs right after going to jail did not appreciate his personality and thus, a week later he was found dead inside the showers. Five people ganged up on him, beat and strangled him to death.

Maddie ended up vomiting the contents of her stomach as Mr. J described his brother's death. However, she was completely horrified when she heard Mr. J's next words.

"Maddie, Maddie, Maddie... I am sure you want to know exactly why I am telling you all this, right?" The girl only weakly nodded her head. Mr. J smirked and continued. "You see, here's the thing," he leaned closer to her. "Those pieces of scum that killed my bro are already dead, their eyeballs ripped out of their skulls and shoved right down their throats," he said and laughed. Maddie could do nothing but shudder, and as she imagined the scene, she vomited through her gag once more.

"Heh, I am also sure that you wanna know where do you fit inside all this, right?" Mr. J asked again. This time, however, he didn't wait for confirmation. He swiftly stood up, grabbed her by the hair and leaned closer, so close that she could feel his breath on her face. "Your daddy lead the prosecution in the trial that took my little brother's freedom and, ultimately life, away from him," he told Maddie.

Maddie immediately lost all of its colors, just now realizing why she had been kidnapped. She had some basic knowledge of the legal system so she could understand what he meant by 'the prosecution'. Her father was the lawyer directly responsible for putting Mr. J's brother in jail. Mr. J released Maddie's hair and walked behind her. After shuffling for a while, he brought a tripod and set it up a few feet away from her. "Now, we have a little saying in my family," he said as he brought out a camera and mounted it on the tripod.

"Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, limb for a limb... death for a death. Your dad's justice took my brother away from me, causing me endless grief. I wonder... how he will react once I reciprocate those feelings back?" he asked, yet didn't expect an answer. He dragged his chair away and walked next to the surgical table. "I have so many toys here, which one do you think I should start with first?" he smiled at her as he put on plastic gloves.

He grabbed a nearby scalpel and slowly walked in front of Maddie. "Oh, but where are my manners. I've yet to remove the gag from your pretty little mouth. I wonder what you have to say about all this," he smiled and removed the gag. Maddie's mouth trembled as droplets of saliva mixed with vomit exited her mouth. "Oh, nothing?" he said and leaned forward, dragging the flat of the scalpel over Maddie's cheek.

And then, something snapped inside Madeleine. And from her mouth erupted a scream unlike no other. Mr. J's whole body shot backward with the force of several G's and crashed into the steel reinforced door, ripping it off its hinges and crashing into the concrete wall of the hall behind it. All of the bones in his body shattered and he died on the spot. Maddie also fainted, the mixture of sheer terror and the force of her awakening taking a massive toll on her 16-year-old mind.

The next time she woke up, Maddie found herself in a hospital. The moment she started shuffled her body trying to sit up in her bed, two nurses and a doctor immediately entered the room and started running all kinds of tests on her to check on her vitals. At that time the doctor also informed her that she had been in a coma for five whole months, something that shocked her. When the doctor asked her if she was feeling anything out of the ordinary, she told him that she could 'see' waves coming out of his mouth. The doctor looked at her for a brief moment before telling her that hallucinations are pretty common with long-term coma patients that have just awakened.

At that moment, a knock was heard on the door and one of the nurses opened it, revealing two men in business suits and black glasses. The doctor walked over to the men and started talking to them while pointing to Maddie from time to time. After a short while, the doctor glanced at Maddie before taking the nurses and exiting the room, leaving her alone with the two men. 

The little girl immediately started feeling uncomfortable, but one of the men told her to calm down and that they weren't there to hurt her. Only after much convincing and another trip from the doctor that verified the men weren't dangerous, Maddie calmed down and listened to what the men said. They introduced themselves as ECAY Scouting Agents and that they were here because of her. They told her they dealt with various paraphysical phenomena, things seemingly impossible to exist.

They told her that what she was seeing, those 'waves' coming out of their mouths, was actually a sort of power that she had somehow awakened. They explained that there is a whole other world out there, of magic and the paranormal that's hidden from the public. When she awakened her powers, detectors they have in their headquarters picked up the residual ripples of energy emitted during her awakening and pinpointed her location. They were the ones that found her and brought her to the hospital.

Maddie donned a blank expression all the way through the agents' explanations. She was suddenly overloaded with a ton of information. Powers? Magic? The impossible becoming possible? The men would sound crazy to a normal, everyday person, but not Maddie. The 'waves' were clear evidence of that! It was something new! Something she had never seen before! She slowly started believing in everything the men had told her.

But then she realized something and tears welled up in her eyes. When the men witnessed this, they immediately understood what she was thinking. How couldn't they? Almost all the people they had scouted over the years, apart from those that had no family or friends, had acted the same way. "You don't have to worry about being away from your family if that's the reason why you're crying. It's true that the government wouldn't allow such a person like you to go about their business amongst normal human beings, no one could imagine the consequences.

However, that does not mean that you will be isolated in a cell, strapped in a chair and experimented upon like a lab rat. Remember when I told you that we have scouted many before you?" The man said, and a smile appeared on his and his partner's faces.

"What do you mean?" Maddie sniffed and asked.

"Do you like school, Madeleine Martell?" The man said cryptically...

Name: Vibrokinesis
Type: Psychic Power
Description:  The major strength granted by this power is its user's ability to generate and manipulate vibrations, or shock waves, which can travel through virtually any medium that is solid, liquid, or gas.

By vibrating the atoms around herself, Maddie can simulate supernatural strength and speed, slow the vibrations in the molecules in the air below her feet to temporarily turn them into a solid, allowing her to double, or even triple jump. She can produce sonic booms at will, make blunt weapons blunter and edged weapons sharper (The ultrasonic vibrations along the blade's edge allow it to cut through much denser materials than would normally be possible. Alternatively, friction from the vibrations are used to heat the blade white-hot, and the heat is the source of the increased cutting power. Intense enough vibrations can also create an air vacuum with each slash).

Additionally, this power can manipulate sound waves in order to project their voice or other sounds from very far away, generate earthquakes, generate sea quakes (which result in tsunami's), break the sound barrier, and even contain and charge the particles in the air in the palm of the hands to create charge particle beam blasts.

On a higher scale, the user can create a counter vibrating frequency to cancel out another object's frequency, thereby destroying it. This ability takes advantage of the ideal that everything (including objects, living creatures, immaterial creatures, space, time, matter, energy, etc.) gives off a vibrating frequency, and by emitting an opposing frequency, both the frequency and the object are destroyed. Of course, as everything emits a slightly different frequency, the user must concentrate on creating the correct counter frequency to make their power effective. Thus, focusing on the specific wavelength for a more pinpoint counter becomes all that more difficult.

Of course, vibrations must have something to vibrate and travel through, whether gas, liquid or solid matter. That means that Maddie's powers are nullified inside a vacuum. Secondly, keeping her powers up for longer than a minute at a time takes immense amounts of concentration from her and exerting herself further can lead to self-injury or even fainting, although this facet can be increased somewhat with sufficient training.

Annevar Tel'ethir

Annevar's relatively tall, standing at 5'8" and weighing just over 130 lbs, lean and fit frame coupled with her unique druidic aura certainly makes her stand out in a crowd. Although it might be normal amongst other races, her choice of keeping her hair shorter intentionally is usually met with curious and confused looks by other elves; it's widely regarded that short hair amongst half-elves is the sign of a slave. Her response to comments regarding her appearance? A simple, silent smile.

Since she travels a lot, Annevar prefers light, comfortable clothing of earthly colours, such as greenish brown silken gowns, linen trench coats and hooded cloaks. She does not possess any footwear as she feels closer to the earth and nature when her bare feet touch the ground.

 Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ

✔ Nature Bond: Plant (Class)&Nature Sense (Class)As a druid, Annevar was given the chance to form a bond with nature. She was given two choices. The first was a close tie to the four elements of Air, Earth, Fire, and Water, granting her powers over one of them. The second option was to link herself with one of the three powers of change, Animals, Plants or the Weather. Annevar chose to follow the path of Plants and thus, is able to command plants to her will for various purposes like attacking, defending, binding etc.

The same link to plant-life has given Annevar the ability to sense her surroundings through plants, as well as communicate with them.
✔ Wild Empathy (Class)Annevar, although specializing in plants, is also able to influence animals to some extent. To do so, she and the animal must be within 30 feet of one another under normal conditions. Generally, influencing an animal in this way takes 1 minute but, as with influencing people, it might take more or less time.
✔ Woodland Stride (Class)Due to her druidic training and spending the greater part of her life living in forests, Annevar has become adept in traversing forested areas with ease. Undergrowth such as natural thorns, briars, overgrown areas, and similar terrain does not impede her travelling speed at all.
✔ Elf Blood (Racial)Being a half-elf, Annevar has inherited the magical prowess uniquely attributed to elves. Due to this, she is generally capable of mustering more power than the average human magician. However, the fact that her blood is not pure makes it so she does not possess the full capabilities of pure-blooded elven magicians as well.
✔ Fast Learner (Racial)Annevar has always been a fast learner, so much so that she's able to pick up almost anything with little effort, and if she likes it and finds it interesting, she's bound to master it very quickly. Her druid teacher, a pure-blooded elf, always said that such a trait is generally not found amongst elves and that she must have inherited it from her part-human ancestry.

 Eǫᴜɪᴘᴍᴇɴᴛ 
Apart from the clothes she wears, her cloak and her Ironwood staff, Anne does not carry with her many items. Nevertheless, she does have a small satchel hanging from her hip, in which she stores some essential things for travelling.
