Stop being passive aggressive. Just be aggressive.

It is certainly not 'optimal', but it *is* doable, depending on what you want to do with it. You could go swords or valor bard and play them more like a warrior with some magical ability

In the early morning, a shut of a door was what awoke Emil from his slumber. One of his companions had left the room shared by a few members of their party. Emil scarcely remembered the rest of the night. He stood there for some time before retiring to bed, thoroughly exhausted from the events of the previous night. Realizing that he might be one of the last to wake up, he quickly pushed himself out of bed, and hurried to ready himself for the days events.

He swapped his clothes from yesterday with a pair of similar clothes from his ruck, and pulled his mail and plate armor over. He grabbed his sword and slung it and his ruck over his shoulder, and proceeded down the stairs, the light jingle of his mail and plates rubbing together sounding like bells as he plodded down the wooden steps.

Downstairs, he found some of the others- including Sir Ionathan speaking to their new... companion-would be assassin-etc, apparently another hero of legend. Which Emil found incredulous, heroes of the same tale fighting amongst one another. Thankfully, today seemed to be civil at the very least. Emil himself didn't feel quite right entering a conversation between old friends, and instead sat off to the side.

But this isn't really the point in most Gundam series. Even in the Universal Century, the Gundam was fielded in order to completely outclass Zeon - who up to that point had the Zaku, which was the most advanced machine on the battlefield. When a Gundam hits the stage, it doesn't have limitations or a locked power system. It's designed to be a generation ahead of everything else.

Giving them to skilled pilots as needed, as time goes on in the game, is much more in line with how the franchise actually works. All you're doing then is cutting out the one MC-type character who gets one within the first episode or two, since there shouldn't be one of those in a group roleplay from the outset anyway.

Very true, I actually agree with almost all of that. I guess the next step is figuring out who gets the gundam(s) as the rp progresses.

The only issue I see is that, conceivably, (almost)everyone wants a gundam, because it is a gundam rp, so it would suck to be one of the ones who don't get it if you want it.
@Plank Sinatra Meh, you could make it work- if you have players that know how to make it balanced or trust not to become OP as hell.

Be it a rookie pilot who for some reason got their hands on a gundam- because of course they have, or maybe the gundam has a flaw or limitations or a locked up power system. Plenty you could do with it
Hmm.. Also which side of the conflict were on would be important too.. If we're all going to be on the same side (which I agree with), I'd rather be on the zeon side as too often to my experience they're just put off and labeled as faceless baddies, what with their German looking zakus and whatnot.

I personally don't like the idea of 10 of us flying super specialized gundams with their own special gimmick, but thats just because I have a soft spot/preference for mass produced and customized mechs
@DisguisedDemon well, what's the tone you want for this RP? Dark and gritty, lighthearted and optimistic? Do you want characters to be thrillseekers in battle, or do you want the weight of their actions to carry on in their minds? Do you want players to all be on the same side? or do you want players on opposing sides mimicking a conflict?
I'll throw some tentative interest into this as well, I'm a fan of the UC conflicts, I'm also a fan of the Cosmic Era conflict- diehards don't hate me, I just like the machine designs is all >.<

@DisguisedDemon what do you think you need from a GM that you couldn't do yourself? If you need lore knowledge, all you need is to consult with your players- as you can see, a large number of your interested players have knowledge of gundam, and I doubt they'd be stingy with said knowledge if you asked.
Meanwhile, I'm just here designing weapons for an RP, and I kid you not, I've broken every Convention, Protocol, and Treaty in regards to what is restricted :D

This also pleases me.

I mean.

Stahp. No. Don't. Stahp. Plz.
In other news I've started designing MAS suits to pass time. Gotta put Ari's Aerospace engineering degree to work.

This pleases me.
I like the concept of this rp. I'll see if I can't whip up a cs

A campione of storms perhaps.
