Stop being passive aggressive. Just be aggressive.

It is certainly not 'optimal', but it *is* doable, depending on what you want to do with it. You could go swords or valor bard and play them more like a warrior with some magical ability

My mistake everybody- I've had that sitting on my desktop for a day or two now and I forgot about it what with my exams coming up. Anyway, that small post is up, and consists of the team moving through the ruins towards Westkirk to meet up with Howler and Cruiser. Its mainly a mood setting post, though if someone wants to make a shambler pop up, I wouldn't be adverse to it.
Sergeant Hoff fixed the Elven Inquisitor with an appraising single eyed stare, before he turned back to Roland- the conscript soldier and nodded. "Aye," he said with a short chortle, as he adjusted his armor. "It is as the elf says- shamblers are like the undead found on Yggdrasil, creatures with nothing on the mind save the destruction of all that is living. But unlike the undead of Yggdrasil- the Shamblers here are a bit different- faster, more attuned to their surroundings, more aggressive, and most importantly- much quieter."

"I have no doubt you'll be able to run faster than they, conscript, but at the same time, keep your wits about ye, yeah?" Chimed in one of the Corporals with a sneer, regarding Roland with a disdainful look. The other Corporals shrugged and offered similar stances to the rest of the group. While some of the newcomers looked more battle hardened than the rest, they were all little more than greenhorns in the New World.

"Anyway, lets be off- Westkirk is a hard march some distance North, and we'll not get there by sitting here fluffing about." Sergeant Hoff commanded, as the two large armored men on either side of the gate began operating the massive winches. The strained groan of wood and creaking metal grated across their ears as the gate began to raise up, the watchmen on the gatehouse staring out attentively into the distance, their rifles drawn, in case anything tried to run at the opening door. The thick reinforced door rose into the air, rising to approximately 7 feet in height, for the soldiers to make their way through- walking underneath, they could see the wooden timbers to be almost a foot thick, with broad iron bulges embedded into the bottom of the door. Difficult to open, but quick and easy to drop and let shut perfect for an emegency and sealing the inside away from the horrors outside the gate- though anyone stuck outside the gate when the horrors came had no chance in hell of the door opening in time for them to flee.

The ruins of Stratton were bleak- brick, wood and timber structures of Ilyan style stood in dilapidated and crumbled states of disrepair, the buildings nearest to the wall haphazardly demolished, their materials likely used to form the wall itself, leaving a fifty foot stretch of no man's land around the wall before the crew entered the ruined city proper. The ruins were dreadfully quiet, with little noise at all save the crack of rifles in the far distance, and the crunch of their boots against powdered glass and stone. Occasionally the silence would be broken by the echoing caw of a raven, followed by the rapid fluttering of wings, as half a dozen flew up into the distant sky, their perch disrupted- a tell tale sign that while they city ruins felt empty, they were definitely not alone in this place.

They advanced in some semblance of a formation, one of their Corporals- a pathfinder, in the front of a wedge, followed by Ceridwen and another corporal. The conscripts and Hoff made up the center of the formation, while the elf inquisitor and the remaining corporals brought up the rear. Etherguns drawn, the team quietly made their way through the center of the dead, abandoned city.

One of the corporals in the rear gave a sharp hiss and the click of his tongue. "I thought I saw something-" he said, pointing down a dark alleyway crowded by rubble. "Let's pick up the pace, huh? I don't like the idea of being pounced by shamblers in close quarters."
I forgot to take my laptop home with me over the weekend D:

Memoirs from an Alien Planet. Day 8, 5 minutes after first contact.
"You got that one, right? Millionaires and fucking movie stars!" -- Shattah, Daniel.((@HeySeuss))

K-Ton made a clicking sound with a smirk and a wink that was shrouded by their breathing masks as he threw a thumbs up. "Oh don't you worry about that boss, I got everything!" he replied with an equally brutal chuckle. The attitude they had was perhaps a bit... morbid, but in this line of work, it helped ease the tension of possibly dying at the hands of four armed aliens god knows how far from home on a planet in distance space with no particular devotion to any cause.

Either way, the day was just starting, and the call for fresh mags and water was called. Taking a long sip from his camelbak's straw, K-Ton took the time to re-organize the load of his M32 to his typical setup, now that they had a moment to themselves. His rifle sat the way it was before they left- he hadn't fired a single round in the last engagement, opting instead to provide fire with his grenade launcher when necessary. Again, he had the feeling he probably spent more ammunition than necessary on such a small pack, especially with two more platoon sized packs of Salvesh heading their way.

The heat was gonna turn up again soon- if it wasn't hot enough in this damn jungle, and they had to get themselves ready- last time they ambushed a small scouting element, flat footed and unaware, it was less of a fight and more of mob hit. This time, they were facing greater numbers, and without the advantage of surprise. Still, with relative calmness, he pulled a mag out of his vest and offered it to Shattah.

"Hey boss, I'll trade you," he asked, gesturing to a couple of the 40s Danny carried on his vest.
Aye sir!

I was hoping our last person would post.. @Dead Cruiser however, we will continue soon.
Very cleverly designed lore/exposition/CS creator

Welcome to New-Hong Kong, Jewel of the Eastern Hemisphere, from 2107 to present. Notable trade hub, center of technological and scientific development, and cultural oasis, New-Hong Kong is one of the most important cities in the Eastern Hemisphere, along with the likes of Neo Tokyo, Singapore, and Seoul II. Major regional headquarters for a variety of notable mega-corporations, New-Hong Kong leads the world in cyber-technological advancements, and is well known for both its well oiled infrastructure and free economic rules. New-Hong Kong is a jewel of an opportunity for the rich, powerful and entrepreneurially minded, and money and fame flows freely for these people.

You are not one of these people.

Welcome to the New-Hong Kong Com-Res(Commercial & Residential) District 9, or as its inhabitants like to call it: the Valhalla District. As far as standards in Year 2157 go, its not a slum, but its not much better. Built in the shadow of the more notable Business District 8, Valhalla is the slowly dying no-man's zone between the more gentrified and technologically advanced city, and the run-down chinese quarter and slums. You've spent the better part of your adult life living here, a low-level wage worker for one of the many megacorps in the area, slowly eking out a living that's not quite squalid but barely comfortable.

Your life thus far has been relatively uneventful, you grew up, went to school, didn't die, and found yourself working at Vitality MacroTechnology, a Cybernetics company. You spend most of your days pushing various paperwork and hoping you don't get fired for looking the wrong person in the eye, and you spend your nights wasting your hard earned cash on synth-Alcohol and cheap favors at your local bar- Pretty much the same as every other low-end wage-worker these days.

But when your old friend and coworker, Tommy DeGarro sends you a desperate message from a private terminal, you can't help but get the feeling something interesting is about to happen.

Hello potentially interested individuals and welcome to my 1x1 interest check! I've always loved the dark dystopian cyberpunk world, and have tried running RPs on them before, but those generally devolved into me trying to find things for everyone to do. What I really want to do, is to have a player (you) experience a cyberpunk world as their own entity- their own main character so to speak.

As such this RP will not be a 1x1 in the traditional sense. Instead, this RP will be 1xE or Player X Environment. The player (you) will experience and react to a variety of challenges, environments, and characters that I(as the environment) will introduce to you. Think of it like a adapting and evolving Choose-your-own-adventure narrative, with yourself/your character as the focus.

For those of you that are still interested, here are some things to keep in mind for your character. Your character is not a hardened criminal or mercenary or spec-ops soldier. They're an average Joe/Joanne being thrust into extraordinary circumstances. They probably have not:

  • Committed murder - though accidentally killing someone through self defense is not off the table
  • Developed a crippling drug addiction
  • Gotten involved with major crime syndicates
  • Trained extensively in hand to hand combat techniques or weapons operation
  • Trained extensively as part of an elite organized military force
  • Hacked a major corporation or government body

However things that they probably have done or might have experience in include:

  • Gotten into a fistfight at one point
  • Have operated a firearm
  • Went to college
  • Developed an interest in technology
  • Replaced a limb with a cybernetic prosthesis
  • Partaken in the use of drugs
  • Get shit-faced drunk with friends after work

Anyway, if anyone is interested in this type of RP, please comment below or send me a PM, from there we can discuss characters and plot!
