Stop being passive aggressive. Just be aggressive.

It is certainly not 'optimal', but it *is* doable, depending on what you want to do with it. You could go swords or valor bard and play them more like a warrior with some magical ability

That's up to you lol. It's not really my place to tell someone else to change their post, I can work with it either way honestly
Ah, beat me to the punch, I was gonna send Sara after the snipers since she's a speedy flanker
Sara blinked in her cockpit, Bill's bombastic response taking her a bit off guard. He sounded like an overenthusiastic video game character. She giggled lightly to herself as she joined Bill's training session, and was joined by Ian and Hamasaki shortly afterwards. Sara took a moment to look over her Valkyrie II, the white machine's weapons loaded in fairly easily- most of her blueprints had already been uploaded to the database by the manufacturer.

Sara listened as Bill addressed them again, her machine firing the various boosters around its bodies- testing her mobility in the sim. Sure enough, it was working fine. Her Valkyrie was fast- perhaps not the fastest in a straight on sprint- Ian's GEAR looked light on its feet and speedy, but her machine was built for rapid lateral movement, if done right she could string together half a dozen lateral dashes in different directions in moments, enabling her to juke past just about anything- one of the main reasons why she desired a role based on flanking instead of straight on combat.

Sara let out a small cough as Bill gave a speech that would've fit in a medieval fantasy RPG, sidling her machine up next to his, boosters allowing her to hover just above the ground. "I don't think computer programs understand the concept of fear or honor." she murmured to herself as she guided her machine into position.

She let the Valkyrie settle on the ground and readied her lance and claws. "Hayakawa, ready."
I'll take a look at it, but I won't be able to write until Monday at the earliest. Out-of state of a little R&R
ME:A has been a fun distraction ahaha.

I concur
Gid was probably talking about specifics and logistics. Security detail and the like.
Sara's face fell a bit when Atlas mentioned her working with him in what were likely the frontlines. She felt much more comfortable in a flanking role, taking attacks of opportunity when they arose rather than scrapping it out in the front lines with the others. She resolved to mention this to Bill at a later time though, as he seemed intent on showing the rest of the team his machine. He seemed proud of it.

As they entered a hangar, Sara was quick to notice a crowd building up in front of one of the GEARs. She remembered that one- getting people out of the way so she could park hers was a small pain. It was black and shiny and almost looked more ornamental than functional, and it definitely had the vibe of 'cool' to it. Sara remembered her brother expressing the desire to take it apart and see what kind of gear it was functioning with 'under the hood' and asking Sara to find out who the pilot was. Sara was quite surprised to find that this machine was in fact Bill's machine.

The team already begun squabbling. Kiril in particular didn't seem particularly impressed with it, and asked about its capabilities. Hamasaki didn't seem satisfied by Bill's response and promptly chewed into him- with Atlas as expected, getting defensive and going off on the girl. Sara glanced over at Ian Laudat, the only other one not involved in the current argument.

"If they pilot anything like they talk, I get the feeling everyone's going to be getting in each other's way a lot today." She said with a sigh- not really expecting a response as she made her way over to her own machine in a slot just across from Bill's Exalted. Her brother had probably purposely parked as close to the exotic machine as he could so he could get a better look at it- and was likely in the currently dispersing crowd.

Her own machine, lovingly referred to as "White Hare", looked almost as pristine as they day it left the factory. It was a military-grade model- one of a test-batch of 12 machines built just a few months ago. Units 1-7 were currently in the field in some far off battlefield, while 9-12 were currently undergoing tests, hers- unit 8 was at Ace Academy for branding purposes. The machine quickly powered on as Sara slid into the cockpit. She opened up a private communication line with Bill.

"Ignore them Atlas. Actions speak louder than words. Respect is best won on the battlefield."
Should have a comment of Galahad saying sarcastically that the only reason he ever remembers he has a father is because everyone loves to remind him- I think all vocal mentions of Galahad's father has been by other characters lolol

@HeySeuss Gideon's lucky his dad is government instead of military
Sara giggled as Atlas went about giving his speech. It was fairly melodramatic, and there could be something said about a man named Atlas putting the weight of the team on his shoulders, but Sara let it slide for now. She wasn't the only one that noticed, because all around them other students were gawking, giggling, snorting or some combination of the three. Regardless, Sara supposed it was the leader-ly thing to do. This was all fairly new to Sara- she had done combat maneuvers before, but generally it was in a 1x1 or 1xMutliple scenario with her relying on nothing but her own skills and the capabilities of her test unit. Working with a team was going to be an interesting challenge, and Yasumi seemingly agreeing with her noted that they lacked any serious defensive units.

Sara shrugged and replied nonchalantly, "Well you know what they say, the best defense is a good offense." Not the exact wording of the saying, with joking logic of course. "No one will shoot at you, if there's no one to shoot at you."

Bill expressed his desire to jump into the practice sims and everyone else seemed open to the idea, so Sara merely nodded in agreement. Hamasaki expressed her interest in getting to know everone's GEAR and strategy, and the tech-nerd in Sara's soul immediately jumped with excitement- she loved the idea of getting a look at different GEARs, and ACE academy pilots had a habit of customizing their machines.

"Well, when I'm vacation I don't make a habit of keeping anti-magic shackles handy." Galahad answered Collete, as he approached their little gathering. In one hand he held a baseball cap for a local sports team, in the other a bottle of water. Galahad had already been up for a few hours, always the early riser, and had been handling the disguise of their truck and his morning Mist-training rituals, meant to further extend and make efficient his use of Mist, chances are they'd need it in the coming days. He had traded yesterday's garments for a less blood and sweat stained, but still non-descript outfit consisting of boots, jeans, and a plain jacket. The only thing really out of place was the ornate Vangar saber at his side. He'd go about concealing it with a spell later.

"and I won't bother trying to shackle a mage with zip-ties, paracord and chains." Galahad added as he joined them on the ground with a grunt. The implication was simple- shackling WARDENs and those similar to them had little use- almost all of them were strong enough and/or knowledgeable enough, to break their way out of simple bindings, and a mage could snap chains and binds with little effort. Nothing short of anti-magic shackles, or diterium-metal restraints could really stop them.

"All the same, its probably better for all of us if no one recognizes you." he said as he pulled the cap over her dark hair. He regarded her for a moment before he shrugged and sighed. "Well, could be worse- could be better- but could be worse." For $10, it would obscure her head profile and shade her face enough to hide her from recognition at any passing glance. In a group of half dozen 20-something-year-olds, maybe she'd be harder to notice.

Reaching across Setzer to grab at a hot dog, Galahad glanced at the small map he was regarding. He had remembered them talking about the Archives just a short moment ago. Setzer called it a boring place of books and math- and to that Galahad begrudgingly agreed. The Archives were a handy resource, but in this day and age when copies of most of their knowledge were abound and available in more forms than just book, Galahad found the Archives to be more of a tourist attraction than a place of learning. Though there were some bits of information in the Archives that weren't available for general print or public- perhaps they as WARDENs could access it.

"Also, isn't there a small military guard post near the Archive?" Galahad mused "We could convince them to lend us some gear, by official means or otherwise."
