Backstory:Ex-Ace Pilot and former war-hero of the Therux Air Corps, Sara 'Rabbit' Hawkins is
technically a fugitive. Born the youngest of two to a family of engineers in the coastal regions of Therux, Sara had a tumultuous childhood. Due to the war, Sara was forced to leave her home at a young age, Sara and her family fled to capital of Therux as refugees from the coast. She had a tough time adapting to life on life in the city, she lacked the innate brilliance of her sister, as well as her tendency to be in the background, Sara's feisty and aggressive personality often found her in fights in the school yards with other kid and bullies, who enjoyed to taunt her refugee status at her expense. Despite this, Sara graduated high school with relatively high marks, and followed her sister into The Therux Military Institute.
Due to the war ramping up, military Academies were, thankfully, tuition free- exchanging education for much needed military service, which the Western Coalition forces were in sore need of. Sara and her sister Samantha were quickly encouraged by their family to enroll and enlist. As usual, Sara's brilliant sister Samantha was quickly placed into the intelligence track- a highly regarded position in the academy. Sara on the other hand, found her self on track for a pilot MOS. Finally falling into her own, Sara found that she excelled as a pilot, quickly sending herself to the top of her class. While she still received plenty of disciplinary action on the account of her attitude and hot-headedness, her simulator scores hushed any critics she had- with scores and simulations rivaling some of the most talented pilots of the Western Wars and Great War.
Upon graduating from the academy, her and her sister were separated and assigned to different areas, with Sara going into the 53rd Air Wing. While in the later stages of the war, fighting was still extremely intense in the outer regions of Therux. Flying attack missions in the thick of the battle, Sara quickly earned her ace on the frontlines, shooting down 6 enemy pilots on her first sortie. However, it wasn't until her actions in the Siege of Cerol that Sara became a face for the textbooks. After a short stint with the 53rd Air Wing, she was reassigned and joined up with the 22nd Air Cavalry.
While with the 22nd Air Cavalry, Sara took part in the Siege of Cerol. This was a battle which took place between the remnants of the Therux 16th Armored division, consisting of a base unit, a half dozen heavy mobile armors, and a few Paladins, attempting to break through a massive blockade and siege by a combined force of Frontier mechs that included no less than a dozen Arachne heavy artillery platforms. Cut off from reinforcements and facing the destruction of both the battlegroup, as well as the city, the beleaguered Therux forces were forced into employing a risky plan. Using a diversionary tactic, the remaining mechs of the 16th rushed the enemy lines, while the 22nd Air Cavalry deployed a small unit of fighters to destroy enemy command units and key depots. Stripped of most of their armaments and equipped with clean-fusion warheads, the small flight of 22nd fighters flew wide around the enemy lines in an attempt to strike the enemy from the rear.
During the attack, Sara and her flight launched a total of six nuclear warheads at the Frontier forces from close proximity, detonating command units, munitions depots, as well as several nuclear powered Arachnes themselves. The success of the 22nd Air Cavalry resulted in the destruction of the the Frontier's command structure, and most of their main line. With the leadership removed, and their frontline shaken, the Therux 16th Armored Division was able to wipe up several pockets of enemy resistance and hold out long enough for reinforcements to arrive.
Earning a medal for heroism and putting a stop to one of the last major offenses by the Northern Frontier, Sara was granted several months leave to lick her wounds and heal her injuries. Sara returned to the 22nd Air Cavalry for another year of service, during which the war ended. She took her leave from the military and was discharged with honors.
Seeking adventure out in the Fortune Region, Sara left Therux and moved to the frontiers of the Fortune Region. At the same time, she managed to pull some strings in the military intelligence branch which led to some strings being pulled in logistics, which led to Sara absconding with her Chevalier and a military transport truck. Despite this arguably illegal seizure of government property, Sara still maintains positive relations with several key personnel in the Therux Military, and despite her disavowed status, she still operates with and supplies the Therux military with intelligence and updates from the Fortune Region.
Sara has spent the last two years working out of the Fortune Regions as a bounty hunter, mercenary, and occasional smuggler. She's made a name for herself as an effective- if expensive fighter, with a high track record of completed bounties and a reputation for sticking to a contract through to the end.
Tactical Preference & Skills: Sara is one of the sharpest pilots in the Therux Air Corps and isn't afraid to let anyone know it. She's clocked in countless hours of simulation and firsthand experience, and has qualified with the I-22, I-47, and AS-64 Mechs. She's got keen eyes, has memorized countless maneuvers, and can hum for you the exact tone a Serpent missile makes when it confirms radar lock. Sara is scrappy and adaptable, but generally moves to clear out enemy air cover first so she can assert control over the local airspace and provide cover to her allies.
