Stop being passive aggressive. Just be aggressive.

It is certainly not 'optimal', but it *is* doable, depending on what you want to do with it. You could go swords or valor bard and play them more like a warrior with some magical ability

One might say your villain arc has begun. Embrace it.
Name: Odran Stormweaver Age: 121 Gender: Male Race: Dwarf Appearance: Odran is a stout and sturdily built dwarf, with a bold stance and an intimidating disposition for one so short. Forged by wine, battle, and song, Odran's girth and thick trunk of a body belies a surprising amount of deft and dexterity. Standing at a height of 5'1", he often stands no higher than the chest of other mortal beings, but is incredibly tall for a dwarf. Despite his diminutive stature, he's often denser than most humans, and certainly weighs an amount comparable to a human upwards of six feet in height.
His body is composed mostly of muscle and bound within the relatively diminutive frame of his race, and his face is adorned with a dense, rough beard, and the dark brown hair over his head is pulled into thick dreadlocks. This thick dwarf dresses in a combination of padded cloth, chain, leather underneath a hardened steel plate carapace, but his short legs stomp on the ground with surprising speed and lightness as he walks. Upon his face sits a wide, fat nose, with a crooked angle from many a fistfight, and hard eyes of steel gray. His face is often adorned with a wry grin, and a camaraderie-filled twinkle in his eye.
Personality: A loud and boisterous soul, like many a dwarf of Valeroma, Odran much like other dwarves is a stubborn, but honorable, hard headed bloke who prefers ale and song to politics and trickery. Blunt, straightforward and to the point, Odran is rarely afraid to speak his mind and tell things exactly as he sees it. Untrusting of magic and the unnatural, Odran will not hesitate to express his unease over the use of such elements but nevertheless admits their usefulness in many situations. Despite his jovial demeanor, Odran has surprising amounts of depth to his thoughts, his loud cheers and alcohol laden breath a visage for a more logical, intrinsically calculative mind. Odran has a very solid understanding of architecture, engineering, and warfare, and a well developed moral compass.
While Odran is vocal and friendly, and quick to throw the title of comrade around, it isn't until another's character has been demonstrated does Odran truly begin showing trust. Odran carefully observes those surrounding him, judging the character of others even whilst he makes jokes and exchanges story and drink. Odran is honorable and relatively unselfish, though if given the choice, he would prefer him and his own success over others.
Despite his affable nature, when its time to get serious, Odran's demeanor switches to that of a calm and collected professional. A professional soldier through and through, Odran fights with a cold and quiet efficiency, and only rarely allows himself emotional outbursts.
Strengths: Tinker, tailor, soldier, spy: Odran is a capable career soldier. Proficient with a variety of weapons, armor and tactics, Odran finds himself most at home sitting inside a suit of heavy steel, and either firing a heavy crossbow from a fixed position or charging in with axe and shield. A strong and durable fighter, Odran has considerable staying power in a fight, and has surprising amounts of dexterity and deft with his hands. Odran is also a capable smith and craftsman- able to make repairs to weapons and armor as well as build new ones if given the proper materials.
Weaknesses: While dexterous and strong, Odran's size and stature does him no favors, and his heavy armor slows him down and reduces his overall movement speed. Odran also prefers fighting on solid ground and would likely sink in the water- on account of his heavy armor and stature. Odran is also incapable of using magic, and must rely on others capable of doing so. Odran is also not a fan of flying, and has a slight fear of heights.
Brief Bio: A career soldier, engineer, siege specialist, and tinker, Odran was born to the Stormweaver clan, a powerful crafts-clan of some repute, well known throughout Valeroma for their weapons, with many aspiring warriors seeking pieces of armor of weapons crafted by his family. While most took up the family trades, Odran instead went about a different way to seek his fortune. Some took to trade, others took to craftsmanship. Odran took to the sciences- the military sciences, to be precise. Odran joined the ranks of the Stormweaver clan warriors, here he would earn his keep through blood and sweat. The clan warriors were divided into companies, each with their own storied past.
Odran joined the Ironborn Free Company as a combat engineer in its service. With his technical prowess, as well as his skill in combat, Odran advanced steadily through the ranks, becoming a trusted sub-leader of his squad commander by the end of his first campaign across the dwarven mountains. By the end of his second campaign, Odran was given command of his own squad, and by the end of his fifth campaign, he was the commander of the Ironborn Company's engineers, and a notable veteran in his own right. When he was chosen, Odran would reluctantly leave the ranks of his comrades to join the company of the chosen.
After giving it some thought, I've decided to scrap the magic fisticuffs boi and have gone with a dwarf warrior and engineer! Here is Odran, let me know if anything needs changing:

@Bitterblue111 if anything, the role of guide might also end up falling to the GM, that type of role I would imagine is more suited for a GM/co-GM type of person anyway
I'd be interested in a human character- but all the ideas I have revolve around the usage of magic of some sort, so non-magical humans sort of puts a damper on those plans.
I haven't finished with either of their backgrounds, honestly.
I can say for almost certain a half elf/human would not be likely to happen. And if it did, the parents and the kid would be outcasts. And to elves, family and culture is everything, so to be outcast would be to basically die to who they are. Humans are...very fearful. They don't trust the other races...at all; with the possible exception to the dragons since they have proven to be protectors. But with elves, dwarves, and especially shifters, they keep themselves separate. They are led by fear of the unknown. Yes, there are a lot of good humans who see the good in everyone. What modern day people would call "humanitarian." People who go out and fight for what's right, equality, all that good stuff. (I am one of those, by the way.) They may even be the majority, but they are still fearful of the unknown and their first instinct is to shoot first, ask questions later. If a human were to have a kid with another race, they would be socially outcast, and possibly kicked out and disowned by their family.
Now, if it were to happen, then yes, magic could be present. But to a very limited extent. I'm talking less than half the normal magical ability a full elf would have. And they would have a hard time controlling it for a long time. The elemental punches would not be enough to knock a person across the room, but it would give them an edge up. Does that make sense?
Gotcha gotcha no problemo then. So it looks like my choice of race is set pretty definitely on an elf then? Or maybe I could be a human with some magical doodads idk. And yeah the punches aren't meant to be that powerful, its more of a way for him to deal with tougher/armored enemies since he's using a fist instead of an actual weapon, and at most a bit of extra reach, like a burst of flame that extends a few feet past his fists and the like.
I had a question about races though- if Elves are inherently magical, and humans are inherently non-magical, where do half elves sit? If there is a such thing as half elves. I'm toying with the idea of a sort of semi-magical pit fighter. Less shooting fireballs and more like elementally enhanced punches, short range telekinetic/elemental fists, and the like.
I was also playing with the idea of a sort of arcane archer- lightning bolt arrows anyone?
The panicked caw of morning birds as they flew away mixed with the half hearted grumbling of several orcs as gathered around a pile of fallen steel bars. One of the crew had knocked a set of bindings loose, causing a pallet release its payload across the construction site, irritating many an eardrum of many a grumpy orc. Of course, the earlier earthquake had thrown many of the supplies into disarray across the site, and the crew had already been undergoing cleanup efforts since the early morning. No one was keen to have more to clean up.
Cormag, the construction site foreman eventually stomped his way over to the center of the congregation, the slight limp and the uneven sound of his footsteps a tell tale sign of his appearance. Furs were thrown over a thick work shirt and canvas pants, and a pair of thick leather gloves covered both his orcish hand and the steel replacement. One hand held a still smoldering cup of coffee, the other held his furrowed brow. As he stepped into the group of workers, the group quickly split apart to reveal the individual at the center of it all- a younger orc who was maybe just reaching late adolescence.
"S-sorry boss." the younger orc managed to stutter, rubbing at an injured arm before another Orc pushed their way up to the front- this one a larger, more scarred orc. Almost twice the size of the younger one, this orc had the look of a veteran, one eye colorless, and more scars and broken tusks then one could count on two hands.
"Sorreh? Thasall you have to say fer yerself?" The older orc half grumbled, half spat, "We olready 'ave enough work to do without yew screwing the pooch every focking hour."
"That's enough Gorrn," Cormag interjected, raising a hand and placing himself into the middle of the crowd. "It's a simple accident, and I won't have you talking to my people like that."
"Yer people?" Gornn nearly exploded, "Cormag you mana-fer-brains I'm yer people." the older orc roared, taking a step towards Cormag.
"Aye Gorrn, you are my people" Cormag agreed, his voice a withering low growl, taking his own step forward and closing the distance between the two, "So start acting like it."
The two stood there for a moment, a few of the other orcish vets taking a few cautious steps forward in case a fight broke out. Gornn stared daggers at his boss before turning his eyes away in a worldless snarl. Taking a step back he turned and walked off. "Don't let it happen again kid." the orc grumbled in a quieter tone as he stomped away.
Looking at the younger orc, Cormag gestured towards the site's temporary office with his chin, "C'mon Norag." he said in a warmer tone as he led the two back. "How's the arm?"
"I-it's alright boss." the younger orc stammered. I'm sorry- I mean I didn't mean to- that is I-"
Cormag waved the younger orc into silence, "Its alright Norag, Gorrn's been especially irritable for a while now, don't take it personal. Take it easy for today, and go get that arm looked at."
There was a knock at the door, Cormag looked up as a small runner boy entered the office and breathlessly handed a letter to Cormag before bustling off with little more than a howdy do. With little fanfare Cormag tore the letter open and gave it a quick readthrough, his brow furrowing as his eyes ran across the words. Cormag heard Norag's voice pipe up. "U-uh is everything alright boss?" Cormag lifted his eyes to meet the younger orc.
"Ah its nothing kid, just an old friend in town asking for me. Now go on, go get that arm looked at."
A few hours later and Cormag was making his way towards the manor. Despite taking care to ensure he wasn't followed, Cormag found himself relatively on time. A few Asgardian patrols had spotted him, one had even questioned where he was headed, but as far as anyone was concerned the foreman of the Nar Ir Har construction company was on his way to see a doctor about some work related pains. The front of the manor was as impressive as ever, with the only notable things out of place being a pair of individuals standing out front. One was a human Cormag didn't recognize, the other was none other than Winston Wicklowe- the gnome currently credited with Cormag's ability to walk and function as a normal member of society.
"Afternoon gentlemen," Cormag said with a nod, walking between the two and going straight for the door. "The Baron's not a huge fan of loitering, so best step inside before you're told to leave." Cormag added, giving Winston a type of look, as if willing him to enter the building as well.
- Cormag resolves a dispute between a few employees of Nar Ir Har - Cormag receives a letter and heads off to the meeting - When stopped by patrols, Cormag tells them he is heading to see a Doctor. - Cormag spots Winston and Teuvo outside and subtly tells them that they shouldn't be standing around outside.
