Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

@IncredibleBee: I think the main issue is that his stoic seriousness is the main focus of his character(you didn't really elaborate on anything else) makes him seem rather difficult to interact with in this RP.

A straightman character is fine, but there's a a balance where they need to react to some extent.

That's not to say the RP can't be serious, but there still needs to be good avenues of character interaction for other purposes.

@Descartes: Thank you.
The issue isn't making her seem like just just a fishy human.

The issue is one of tone, a character's backstory involving hundreds of child deaths really does not fit this RP tonally. On top of that, it doesn't really make any sense for Mermaids to have children like that. Presumably they take care of their children and don't have dozens of things eating them. If it was like that it's really unlikely child protective services wouldn't intervene with every birth.

If you want to make her more then just a fishy human, have her born from an egg. Have her be able to breath under water and still not be fully adjusted to being on land. Applying that trait to mermaids really doesn't make any sense and is extremely dark for this RP.
I'm... kind of disappointed.

I just needed people to post a bit more so I could continue.

But Vita, he can't even be comedy relief? What would KLK be without Mako?

As much as I love Kill la Kill and Mako, this isn't Kill la Kill.

... Also I think this character is even too silly for Kill la Kill.

Well, I am still interested in this. But anyway, if I may politely inquire, would you be so kind as to inform me -why- exactly this character doesn't work for this RP? Just that statement alone, doesn't help me in accessing why the character would not work, and what characters -would- work in this RP, and I would like to know the reasoning behind it.

Well... the concept of a giant gorilla with eye lasers is really, really, really goofy. In some things it might work, but the comedy in this is more slapstick or character-based then simply by absurdity. I'd recommend taking a look at previously-posted characters and their quirks if you want to get a good idea of what we're looking for.
Er...

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid this character concept doesn't work for this RP. While this is meant to be lighthearted for the most part, and can be comedic, this character might be the wrong flavor of ridiculous for this RP.

That being said, I'm sure he would fit for an over-the-top superhero RP or something like that.
There's none, and I am the first one trying to sign up with an anime character.

So, in fact, using anime characters would introduce more variety.
"Uwah!"

Yuriko let out a yelp of surprise as she was suddenly scooped into the air, hoisted up, and her backside seated on rather squishy shoulders. It didn't take her very long to realize what had happened. There was only one person on the ship who was squishy like that all over. The ship's cook. For a moment, the tiny pirate opened her mouth to protest... but then she slowly began to realize she quite loomed over everything perched on the alien girl's shoulders. Hmmm... she could tolerate this for the moment! Ducking as doorframes came worryingly close, it wasn't long until they arrived at the beeping, whirring place that was the bridge. It was full of a whole lot of gizmos and technology that, well, Yuriko didn't completely understand. It was why someone else was in charge of flying the ship. She knew it was all pretty important, though.

Putting on a confident grin, Yuriko folded her arms across her chest and surveyed her crew. Particularly the pretty girls, they got some extra surveying. Well, in HAMU's case, some disappointed looks, but that'd hopefully be sorted out eventually. For the moment, however, there were far, far more important things to attend to. Indeed, it was the entire purpose for which this crew had been assembled!

"Now, I'm sure you're all wondering why your brave, beautiful, and fabulous captain called you here!" she declared, raising one hand away to make a flourish. "Well, I'll tell you! A reliable source has just let me in on some wonderful information! A cargo carrier containing vast, massive amounts of Sakuraium is going to be passing by Bellos in the Miranda system! And guess. What. System. We're. In!"

Yuriko grinned as she looked around her crew, hoping they'd put two and two together.
As soon as Rin posts, I'll post again and advance things
Lost Cause, he just asked me to explain what I was signing up with.

... Speaking of which she'll hopefully be up today once I sort some things out with her.
Okay, as CO-GM I'm stepping in here.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to reject your character. He's basically Eddie Riggs from Brutal Legend, down to appearance, weapons, and personality(which is a weird choice for this RP honestly). That's way too close to a canon for this.
