Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Kirisame Marisa, Client World 12262009-A(Macross)
Marisa shrugged when Kakine suggested getting back down to the ground, and as he lowered his platform, the Perfectly Ordinary Witch began to steadily lower out of the sky on her broom. As she listened to Misaka continue on, questioning Gensokyo, she couldn't help it. The girl's way of talking was still weird! It really was like she was narrating everything she did, no matter what it was and no matter what it would give away about her thought processes. It was really kinda funny, but the small blonde decided against making any comments on it. There was more interesting stuff to focus on right now. "Gensokyo's a pretty awesome place!" Marisa declared, cheerfully, "If your world has one... I think that's how this whole multiverse thingy works... you probably don't know about it!" In spite of standing sideways on her broom, the witch seemed to have maintained her balance so far. "And nah, I'm not from around here! I shot my way in, it was pretty awesome! Enough magic just gets me a nice hole through reality, long enough for me to get through! All I've gotta do to leave is shoot my way back out!"
???, Research Facility
The shot had hit. Forcing herself to her feet, the gunslinger girl pulled her injured leg along as quickly as she could, stowing her rifle on her back once more. This motion was in time for her to see the syringe-wielding creature, and interpose what remained of her prosthetic between herself and the needle. The tip of the needle bit in, but it didn't go all the way through, and the girl took this opportunity to backhand the creature as hard as she could. She needed to take this opening as fast as possible...! Reaching to her belt, the girl pulled out the one thing she felt would still be of use here. It wouldn't be aimed for either Cinder or Charlotte, though... Hooking her thumb into the pin, she tugged out out, and hurled it into the hall. It was high enough yield that it had a decent chance of collapsing the hall and keeping the machine difficult to access. It was really her only hope at this point. With that, the girl jammed her thumb down on her transporter. The coordinates were just a leap back to the nearest Yggdrasil base. She could get medical attention there. There was a noticeable flash as she vanished. The grenade would go off any second now.
Actually, looks like I need a Tailblue post before I can finish up the Tanngrisnir stuff. I can finish the stuff in the Research Facility and maybe continue the mechanical coffin stuff with Black Rock Shooter, though. Unless someone wants me to hold off on the latter.
Name: Amythest Malachite, MISTRESS OF THAT HEARTLESS MAGIC THE WORLD CALLS BLACK Theme Song: Gender: Female Age: OLDER THAN THE ABYSS OF TIME ITSELF(15) Appearance: "Hah! I am the TRUE darkness of this world!" Personality: Destroyer of kingdoms! Slayer of kings! Kidnapper of fair maidens! All of these things are not at all an apt description of Amythest as much as she would like others to think they are. Amythest would just love to be seen as a terrible and cruel mistress of black magic who takes pleasure in the suffering of others. She styles herself as such, loudly proclaiming that she seeks to bring evil upon all mankind! ... And yet in action, she cannot ever bring herself to perform truly evil acts. No, in spite of her claims, Amythest is not the evildoer she styles herself as. For every claim of being a heinous monster that she makes, Amythest has likely done something only mildly malevolent or even outright benevolent and kind. She claims she has never done anything helpful for anyone, but truthfully the girl simply is a much better person than she claims she is. She likes children and often has trouble keeping her villainous facade up around them, unless they're finding it entertaining. Amythest is full of confidence and pride in herself, and refuses to back down in the face of danger. Unless that danger is spiders. Amythest does not like spiders. Favourite Colour(s): Blood red! Like the stains left behind by those who oppose her! Ahahaha! (Pink) Favourite Food(s): The souls of her enemies! (Cheesecake) Hobbies: Torturing the innocent! (Pressing flowers) Indulging in the spoils of conquest! (Collecting magical grimoires) Weapons: Her channeling staff. That is all. Powers/Abilities: Amythest is a black mage, utilizing primarily offensive spells. These spells are primarily fire-or-lightning-based, such as a bolt of lightning or a ball of fire. Amythest's most powerful spells, however, channel her mana as a beam or burst of purple energy. These spells can be highly hazardous to many organic targets. Amythest isn't very athletic and lacks physical skills, all her focus being on magic. Biography: Amythest was born to an average family and had an average life. Averagely. Boringly. It was dull. Really way, way too dull. Amythest couldn't stand how boring she felt it was. Sure, she was learning magic, but she never got to do anything with it! That's when she hit upon the idea of becoming a traveler! But not just any traveler... a Dark Traveler! Yes, she would paint herself as the most evil and dark adventurer to cross the lands! ... And it became quite obvious that these claims were only words, as she simply could not actually do anything that evil. But still, she ventures across the lands and proclaims her evilness while doing nothing to back it up.
Okay, let's see... I can probably wrap up the Tanngrisnir stuff right now unless someone wants to deal a blow to the Shadow Eternity ship. I can also wrap up the gunslinger girl stuff for sure.
Ideally I'll be wrapping up the action scenes on the Tanngrisnir and on Yggdrasil shortly. Most likely with mystery girl in the research facility as well. Therefore I want everyone who can to post before I do. I may also continue the scene with the mechanical coffin next time I post, as well.
Okay, going to get that bio done today!
@Facepunch: Alright, um, I'm slightly concerned about the buffing ability for the most part at the moment and I think there's just something I'm not wrapping my head around. Also, how many buffs can he apply to himself?
Dead Cruiser, don't forget to edit your bio to make the attack nullification conscious. That was our acceptance criteria. ^^; Once you do that he's on the list. Of note, particularly powerful characters who have underwent major nerfs(Leman Russ, Giorno) are now going to receive a notice beside their entry on the list pointing out that they have been nerfed to avoid confusion.
No, it's fine. Gives me a chance to have a creative response, possibly revealing more about the relationship between these two. ^^; ... Well and the mystery girl they keep referring to. Also, don't do bio stuff this late at night, sorry. ^^; It's a policy I have so I don't miss things or something. I'll get on it after I sleep.
Accepted. Now you can put her in the character tab. ^^;
