Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Kind of hitting a wall on this post, sorry. ^^;
Saber

Saber proceeded wordlessly towards the door. She almost reached the handle, before pausing for a moment. Something was amiss, was it not? After a few moments of silence, she turned away from the doorway to face her Master. While she preferred not to make such requests, it was necessary and one of her Master's duties was to provide her with supplies. This was much the same as supplying her with prana, although it was for a sharply different purpose.

"Kishinami-dono," Saber began, quietly raising her arms to gesture to herself as she spoke, "I do not know if it is wise to pass in public clad in my armor. My understanding is that the Grail War is intended to be secret."

One could wonder why consideration to spirit form was not even mentioned or contemplated, but the explanation behind that was a simple one. The entire reason she was summoned was to serve her Master. Saber had no intention of hiding herself away while doing such a thing, unless it was absolutely necessary. Quite simply she did not find it absolutely necessary in this circumstance.

"I require alternative clothing."
Anno, Who is now Very Confused

Anno let out a yelp as she was dragged by her wrist, without even a chance to question why she was being called 'Peaches'. Still, she managed to get her legs under her and stumble after the taller blonde girl weakly. That old guy got to the ground safely at least, so... so... now they were going to find out what had tried to kill him... Anno couldn't help but feel frightened. There was no way to stop herself from being scared. Everything was so unfamiliar, and now... now...

Anno stared blankly in confusion. There was... another blonde in a skintight outfit hovering off the ground. A horrified young girl... and... there was... was... was... was that Noel Vermillion?! ... Wait wait that was Ryugen there too wasn't it, she'd kind of half-noticed but gotten dragged off too fast to do anything. What was even going... going...

...

Her eyes fell on it.

That.

That.

For just a moment, all fear and doubt fled Anno's mind. She pulled away from the blonde girl as quickly as she could and broke into a sprint... And when she was right next to it...

The brunette girl aimed the fastest, hardest kick she could manage directly at Kyubey's side.

"TAKE THAT YOU LITTLE FUZZY BASTARD!" she cried.

Ever since seeing Madoka, Anno had something she wanted to do to Kyubey in mind.

So really, this was the only response to seeing it she could have had.
Saber - Castle Tepes

Saber gave a quick nod to her allies. Now it was time to do whatever they could to prepare. The entire mansion was available to them for the moment. As Saber turned to ascend the stairs, she paused for a moment when Nono asked about instruction from her. After a few moments of silence, the King of Knights turned to face the robotic girl and gave her a small nod.

"If you desire my training, I will not reject you," she said, simply, before turning once more to make her way back up the stairs. For the moment, there was no real time for training, however. They could be arriving immediately, or in several days. It was hard to be certain. In any case, it would be best to set up as many defenses as possible as quickly as possible.

For now, they had a little more time to get in position and plan.

Castle Tepes

Queen Tepes raised an eyebrow, perplexed at the various explanations she received. Well, at the very least, none of them seemed hostile. In fact, they seemed more inclined to help protect the Eye then to steal it. However, the child vampire still gave the weapon a rather wary glare when it was held out to her. Exactly how would it let her feel their natures? Well, regardless, it wasn't as if they would be capable of taking her by surprise if the weapon turned out to be some kind of trap. Besides, they seemed relatively non-threatening. With a shrug, she reached out and took the handle as she introduced herself.

"I am Queen Isabella Danielle Valeria Katherine Tepes, and this is my castle."

Black Rock Shooter - Pensee

Black Rock Shooter stumbled when Suwako hopped onto her shoulders, but managed to catch her footing without collapsing to the ground. Barely, at least. Straightening and adjusting herself(with some confusion about Suwako's decision) to support the smaller girl, she looked around as best she could. In any case... she had no real answer for the blonde girl's question. As a result, there was really only one response that she could make.

"I do not know."

The little girl looked thoughtful for a moment when Mikoto asked her name. There was several seconds of silence as she looked up at the sky, then idly towards the cobblestone ground, then to the side, then finally back to Mikoto once more. It was an awfully long time to answer a question about your name.

"I don't know!" she declared, frustration tinging her voice. "... And I know a lot of other things..."

There seemed to be someone approaching them, as well. Shuffling closer, hesitatingly, there was a brown-haired girl in a red and yellow outfit...

Dlanor A. Knox - The Museum World

Regardless of Cinder's intent, the chamber was quickly sealed with a loud clanging sound, and the hiss of the vacuum-sealed door fastening completely shut. Thankfully, air cycled into the chamber quickly. Murdering a prisoner via suffocation was not the act of an organization that prided itself on justice and doing what was right. Dlanor calmly stepped between the chamber and the civilian combatant, turning to face him as the other UMMA agents slowly lifted it to begin moving away.

"She is already IMPRISONED," she began, "Further assault is not NECESSARY."

Shadow Eternity Vessel Foecrusher

The woman with the katana sighed. It seemed things had settled with a compromise. A frontal assault would be prepared as well as attempted sabotage and subterfuge to penetrate the castle's defenses. It seemed logical, really, to devote forced to both sides. Really, though, she felt a small amount of frustration that she couldn't demolish the castle entirely. That risked harming the eye, after all.

Oh well.

They would arrive soon.

The Leader

"... You cannot understand it?"

The Leader let out a sigh, and approached quietly. The letter's contents were important to the elimination of this threat, lethal or otherwise, and she rather desired to know exactly what someone would intend to attempt to use the UMMA's Murder Doll for.

Kirisame Marisa - Academy City

Well that was an experience Marisa was in no hurry to repeat. Some girl with brown hair had down up, and then there'd been a flash of light, and now she felt sick and was in some completely different place. Staggering a little to try and get her balance, Marisa shook her head and attempted to take in her surroundings. Well then. Well. There was a... okay, the voice let her know it was definitely a guy, in the tube. And all kinds of weird technology stuff. Shaking her head and straightening, Marisa had two questions firmly on her mind.

"... Are you Crowley-san?" she asked, placing her hands on her hips and inclining her head to the side. "Why are you in a dress?"
Noel Vermillion, In Pursuit of Justice

The perpetrator wasn't surrendering. In fact, she was doing just the opposite, since Noel was pretty sure levitating into the air was not part of surrendering so that you may be arrested. She took a deep breath, training Bolverk on the girl as she drifted into the air. Even if she had to fight, well... she'd attacked an old man like that! There was no way she should just be let go... With that in mind, Noel trained the duel pistols on the girl as best she could.

"I won't hesitate to use force! So-w-wah!"

Noel let out a yelp and threw herself out of the way, in time to feel the burst of air rush past her, kicking up dust. Her boots dug into the loose, dry dirt as she braced herself on one hand, pushing back up to right herself as quickly as possible. Even... even if she wasn't good at anything else... with Bolverk keeping her steady, she could at least arrest this... this really really mean girl for hurting that old man! Thrusting one pistol forward as she slid her other foot slipped back, adjusting her position to shift the other pistol back.

As quickly as she could, Noel let off a volley of shots towards the girl. The hypercondensed seithr bullets erupted from Bolverk with a string of cracking sounds and a flare of light from each barrel. The projectiles would explode on contact, but they wouldn't actually kill the other girl... she was supposed to get arrested!
I'll post later today, then!
Misaka Mikoto

Mikoto paused for a moment. Child Error did sound kind of bad, but it was in reference to the circumstances that left them without anyone to turn to rather then anything about the children themselves. Still, it was kind of a bad-sounding term, to say the least. Regardless, the gala was to help them, so it was not really any problem. And that gekota scarf... well...

However, there was a moment of confusion when Annette told her to dodge. Mikoto certainly hadn't registered anything unusual approaching at all, so why would she say something like that?

"Eh? Why?" asked Mikoto, looking back over her shoulder in confusion. No, there was nothing there...

And then her roommate abruptly appeared and latched onto her, sending the both of them to the ground.

Saten Ruiko

"See? See?" Ruiko grinned, turning to face her friend and the gothloli girl as she headed into the alleyway. Just as she had thought, this one was pretty much empty. Part of her was slightly disappointed about the total lack of any weird hints of a ghost, but the rest was pleased due to the fact that, well, they weren't getting attacked. So there was absolutely nothing to worry about, really. "I knew there wasn't going to be anything down this way, it was too cleared-out. The ghost only goes for darker alleyways."
First time playing Noel, hopefully got her IC. ^^;
Anno, Outside the Western Bar

Anno fell totally silent as the other brown-haired girl helped her to her feet. For a few moments she mostly just stood there, looking down at her feet even as she finally realized the taller blonde was apologizing, and did not seem even slightly angry. She was about to reject the offer of a drink... or try to(after all, she didn't like alcohol one bit and now was not the time) without panicking, when the blonde suddenly cut herself off and then got distracted by another girl appearing, this one with silvery hair. Anno, hopelessly confused and worried, stood in silence with the occasional attempt to open her mouth and speak... until she heard a scream very rapidly approaching and very rapidly leaving.

Clutching the necklace she turned around quickly, trying to figure out where it was coming from, when the blonde lept into action, declaring whoever it was needed to be saved.

"... I-I..." struggling to speak, Anno swallowed hard. "... I-I'll... I'll c-come with you! I... I c-can't... I can't do anything, b-but... m-maybe I c-can... I..."

She trailed off. But... someone was in trouble, so she had to try and help, right?

Noel Vermillion, Why is it so Hot and Dusty Where am I Please Help

Thud!

"O-ow!"

Noel hit the ground on her shoulder and rolled once with a yelp, landing flat on her stomach on the dusty ground. Both hands still clutching Bolverk, she remained still for a few moments as what just happened sunk in. She was, one moment ago, in hot pursuit of her superior officer... and suddenly everything got all... all... folded and strange, and she slipped without actually losing her footing, and then everything was really bright and she got kind of scared and now...

... Now it was really hot and she hit the ground really hard. Wincing, the blonde girl rose up and sat on her knees, the dust blowing off of her. Operating by the same logic that allowed it to stay on her head in combat, her hat was still in place, but... where was she? How had anything like this happened? Looking around weakly as she pushed herself up to her feet. It was so bright, but her eyes were already adjusting... and as she turned to try and find her footing, she realized that there was a farm... and a farmhouse! That meant people were nearby at lea-

Noel's green eyes widened in shock as she watched a girl somehow launch an elderly man through the air, sending him careening away. She felt her emotions rising, but Bolverk kept the steady, and her duty rose in her mind. The Nox Nyctores kept her calmed, allowed her to do the one thing that was right in this scenario.

Breaking into a sprint, she ran towards the girl, and... a younger girl. Raising her weapons, she trained them on the long-haired girl.

As she spoke, Bolverk kept her focused, keeping her voice from wavering.

"I am an officer of the NOL!" she declared, "You are under arrest for assault! Please don't resist!"
