Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

I wouldn't say that as harshly as Rain is, but I'm honestly not finding good information to make an accurate length and weight in reference to Tanya's strength. The blade is long and heavy and sharp, enough to make Tanya have difficulties wielding it properly without the enchantments. I'll confess the picture isn't accurate to its length because I botched my attempt at foreshortening, it's almost as long as Tanya is tall.

I feel like anything I try and guess at would probably not be very logical in respect to Tanya's physical strength and the blade's size itself, mostly because I'm really not that knowledgeable about medieval weapons. I mean, my best knowledge comes from occasionally seeing them in a museum and Dark Souls, which isn't exactly in-depth.
I hadn't really considered an exact weight. It's a sizeable bastard sword so without enchantments it's probably fairly weighty. For Tanya it's light enough to wield effectively even though she's not very strong.
@Boomrocker: I still have some concerns about class overlap, but... I'll think about it and get back to you tomorrow, most likely.

@IncredibleBee: Tomorrow or the weekend.
@IncredibleBee: As Rain said, no-one else has expressed confusion about it any other time I've tried this RP. I was under the impression, as were a fair amount of other people, that the word was used to describe holy/religious knights. Templar or Crusader actually have more connotations to me than paladin. Most of them going with fanaticism.

In fact, though I didn't realize it would be relevant, Repharion's enchantments are completely exclusive to the Church. Divine Solar Fire is not accessible outside of Church Enchanters. And... again, not something I thought would be relevant, but if you are an actual, pure evil being(not even orcs qualify as this is something on a spiritual level), any Church-enchanted weapon would probably burn your hand off if you tried to use it. Repharion is counted amongst these weapons.

This has turned into a very pendantic argument that's taking up a lot space and time and I'd rather not spend any more time on it. If you're trying to make a suggestion, fine, but I don't see it as necessary and since it's turned into an argument I'd like for it to stop now.

@Boomrocker: I'm not trying to go after you for anything. I just think that two paladins is a bit weird given that they're the same kind of character... and from the same religion for that matter. Reon worship and Mayon worship are both the same dualistic religion.
Class is being used to describe what the character does. In this case, from the majority of fantasy settings and historical things I know about, "paladin" was used to describe a holy knight, and sounds better than just saying "holy knight".

In terms of my setting a paladin is a religiously-motivated knight who uses holy symbols and often enchantments on their weaponry tied to their deity, in Tanya's case the divine fires of Reon granted to Repharion.

As this is not D&D I assumed people would take paladin to simply mean "religiously-motivated knight" as it does in many non-D&D settings and not begin arguing over the definition of it.
Okay, let's see here...

@IncredibleBee: Tanya does have one-handed sword training, but it's fairly basic. She's actually had Repharion for most of her training as a paladin, in part due to her family's fairly high standing in the Church. The bigger concern is the lack of armor since that is from her family(though it was originally from the Church, given to her family) and she's had it the whole time she's been active as a paladin.

The dungeon is also mentioned to weaken non-humans as well, presumably this would make Sophia's flight next to useless from how it was described.

For Leander, sapient undead actually are not immune to pain(part of why cutting them up incapacitates them even if it doesn't kill them. Also the whole losing limbs thing). But the bigger issue is they're animated and kept... undead by a core of mana, basically a reactor keeping them from falling over dead again. He'd probably be severely weakened if not outright killed by that dungeon.

@Descartes: I actually like the new dungeon idea, though. The bee-Golem is an interesting idea, and the wind spirits seem like they'd be neat to fight. That being said, I'd like for the more physical fighters to have some things to do, just so they don't end up just sort of sitting out all the fights until the boss. Maybe mix some more physical enemies in at different points?
@IncredibleBee: I suppose, but I'd like to avoid class overlap if I can.

@Descartes: Okay, um... not being able to use magic would not actually benefit you that much. The vast majority of soldiers are just trained in combat. Even if it's a fairly sizable minority, people who can actually use magic are still a minority in comparison to people who can't. I also have reservations about a dungeon that nerfs several party members into uselessness or near uselessness, and given the mechanics of sapient undead would probably kill one of them outright. I don't mind party members having more or less trouble depending on the dungeon but there still needs to be something they can do.
I'd rather not have that for this RP, though. I mean, I know it can happen, but since there's no actual class list or anything like that I think things she be spread out a little more.
Okay... Mayon's not associated with lightning, but I didn't put that in the OP in part because I didn't realize that it'd be necessary. I can update the OP with a little more information on the deities mentioned.

Otherwise, I have to say I think it's a bit weird to include two paladins in a single party.
Um, sorry about the lack of posting, have been hitting a bit of a wall for this. ^^; I'll try and get something done soon.
