Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

@Boomrocker: I'll look at it tommorrow. Too late for me to approve anything write now as I have a policy of not declining or approving bios after midnight.

@Scrapula: I'm sending a PM to you, as this is my exception to that rule.
I'm sorry, but I'm not changing that detail. I feel water is workable, especially for the more defensive nature of a Mayonite Paladin, and also makes sense for Mayon domain as a Moon Goddess, as opposed to lightning.

If you want to make a Mayonite Paladin, that's how a Mayonite Paladin would work. Even if you do use a smaller shield they're still going to have water-based enchantments, most likely on the shield as opposed to anything else.

Edit: Since you edited while I was posting, Ice does work.
Castle Tepes

Saber took her position outside the Castle. The defenses were in order. Everything was in place. Now...

Now it was simply time to-

There was a roar from the sky, and a crackle of light. It was obvious that stealth had not been the intent of the attackers, not at all. At least not in this aspect. It was difficult to discern what their further plan was, but right now... it was obvious they were going for a full-scale assault. The front of the ship was shaped like the slavering maw of an enormous dragon, hanging open with an eerie light emanating from within. For a moment, Saber contemplated attempting to take down the ship itself, but quickly realized that it would be too dangerous for her allies and the mansion.

Unless...

Planting one foot firmly forward, Saber raised her sword. Excalibur ignited with a brilliant glow, prana traveling up the blade. She would not use the full attack, the full function of her blade as a Noble Phantasm, but if she could damage the ship critically enough...

A storm of purple blasts erupted from the ship. Saber was forced to move, sprinting to the side as the blasts struck the ground where she had stood and tore it apart.

Forced to dodge, she could see what was descending from the ship, now. A single figure, followed by hundreds of others dropping down.

She recognized one of them, the familiar shape of the katana-wielding woman...

The battle had begun.

Kirisame Marisa - Academy City

Marisa's eyes trained themselves on the contract. As she went, it was almost as if her eyes began spinning, and soon enough the perfectly ordinary witch was swaying where she stood, her mind absolutely boggled by the total mess(in her eyes) she was looking at. What did it even mean? It was so confusing!

Shaking her head and recovering her mind from the mass of roundabout words she had read over, she quickly looked up to the man in a dress in a tube and folded her arms firmly. "I'm not gonna agree to anything I can't understand, can you explain that in any way that actually makes sense? I mean jeez, that was just weird!"

Black Rock Shooter - Pensee

Black Rock Shooter stumbled slightly when Suwako lept off of her. Her eyes followed the blonde girl as she ran to meet... a brown haired girl. The girl was about to open her mouth, when the soldier suddenly ran towards her and asked her about some things the otherself had not previously heard of before. Evidently, neither had the brown-haired girl, who looked far too bewildered to say... whatever it is she had been attempting to say.

Thankfully for her, it seemed as if someone had been quick to leap to her aid.

"Merde," said a mysterious voice with a sigh. Attempting to locate it, Black Rock Shooter swiftly noticed a tiny, winged, doll-like girl hovering alongside the brunette girl. "What exactly are you doing? Isn't it obvious she has no idea about these things you're saying?"

The brunette interjected, at that point. "I can try to answer those questions though! ... Er... I mean, I don't know... but I can try!"
Sorry, I've been busy today and it slipped my mind. Let me review the bio.

Edit: @Boomrocker: Okay, he really is quite different, but I'm almost worried he's not really fitting the description for a Mayonite Paladin. The tower shield is kind of their thing.

Also, this may be a bit harder for Mayon, but paladins as per this setting often possess Church-only enchantments. For example, Reon's Divine Solar fire that suffuses Repharion in response to the righteous fury of is wielder(I need to edit her bio, I forgot this detail wasn't actually in it as I've written it elsewhere).

Since he's a Mayonite Paladin, perhaps something more defensive.
Rika raised an eyebrow and sighed. Jeez, what was the elf girl thinking? Sure they had better senses... and she was definitely half snake. It was hard to ignore her body from the thighs down after all. But who even knew what could be in this weird place? What if there was something freaky in the forest that none of them could even try and deal with? "I'm not being contrary just for the sake of it. Going to Marcus-san makes sense, alright? Don't be a total moron."

With that, the purple-haired naga slithered along after the man, heading around the forest and giving the red line a wide breadth. When she started smelling it, that terrible scent of burning flesh... and then they came upon it. While she had, with her father, cleaned fish before and various other things of that nature, there was nothing that could have prepared her for the terrible slight. She clapped one hand over her mouth, feeling ill as she swayed on her tail. Those... those were people, the charred, burnt corpses were people...

Who could have done this? Something so... horrible. Why?
Noel Vermillion, Well That's a Lot of Feathers

Noel's eyes widened in shock at the shower of feathers tearing towards her, ripping through the air and hurtling towards the ground. All she could do was swiftly sprint to the side to avoid them, her arms snapping up and firing at any that came too close. She could feel several impact behind her, tossing dust and debris in the air. She hadn't been able to hurt it! Even though she'd hit it in the wings... what if nothing she did would work? ... No, no... she... she had try... Noel had to try and fight, didn't she? Bolverk would keep things okay, she'd just... she'd have to try something else, maybe! Taking a deep breath and trying her hardest to stay calm, Noel skidded to a halt as the feathers finally stopped firing, raising each pistol and training them on the bird.

Okay, okay, there had to be something that could stop it... right? There... there had to be... Even if it healed, if there was some way she could stoop it responding to attacks so easily maybe the others could defeat it...

She wasn't that good at this at all... but...

Bolverk was trained, as best Noel could manage, on the bird's eyes. If it couldn't see maybe it couldn't respond as well!

Noel let off a flurry of shots, each flare of gunfire and blast of sound echoing across the battlefield.
Accepted.
I am getting some vague ideas for my post now, at least for Noel.

I am liking writing her, given that she's split between being really awesome and being a nervous wreck.
I don't mind questions. It's just that each so far has spiraled out of control and gotten rather pendantic when this is meant to be fun and placed in a world that's definitely not our own.

I will also clarify that creating sapient undead is a very unreliable process and that the most common source of them is necromancers who have murdered someone to create an undead slave who is still intelligent, using binding magic to force their obedience.
The mana core is just in place of their "life force". I dislike using that term but that's what it is. The "immortal being regenerates unless you behead it" thing is in multiple versions of vampire myths(some as extreme as staking them in the heart, beheading them, and burning them). The mana core cannot overcome a beheading because it's instant death, but like a vast majority of other things that feature beheading as the one weakness to something. Totally obliterating the body would also work, but with how unlikely it is for that to come up I didn't mention it.

Vampires are not in this, I used them as an example of something from mythology that, as one version of its one weakness, must be decapitated. After all, some versions just have the stake holding them down instead of actually killing them. If vampires were actually in this they would work differently than sapient undead, but they are not.

You also have to die and be properly resurrected very recently to be a sapient undead. There are paths to longer lifespans that do not in fact involve dying and needing proper spells applied to you that are only going to be known by necromancers who are not well-liked at all. Creation of sapient undead is not reliable.

I'm going to be frank and ask you why you're still in this RP if the setting causes so many problems for you. You've nitpicked at nearly every decision I've made in regards to the lore and consistently started excessive arguments that are quite frankly wearing very thin on my patience. I've tried to be very civil and every time an argument ends you find a new thing to pick at.
