Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Konpaku Youmu

Youmu relaxed a little as Last Order left her katana alone. It truly was nothing for a child to be messing with, that was for certain. While Hakuroken could not harm her, Roukanken was incredibly sharp, forged by youkai and capable of slaying phantoms. Before she could really do anything else... the boy was criticizing her again! Youmu didn't understand why such a thing was happening! Where did he get off making so many comments like that?!

"It is a matter of the Konpaku family's honor!" she asserted, nodding her head firmly and folding her arms across her chest. That was indeed the reason, it was important to clarify that there had been nothing strange that had happened. It had been a mere accident that had no effect on her or her family. "The fact that there was an accident when I believed you were in need of rescue was not my fault! I... still don't understand what happened, in fact. But my intent was to push you away from the edge, so you didn't fall!"
I am too, I just have really hit a dry spell for writing up vampires.
Konpaku Youmu

At the blue-haired woman's question, Youmu paused for a moment before proceeding.

"I was training in the Hakugyokurou gardens," she said, simply, "I closed my eyes briefly, and when I opened them I was here. I... I have to get back there. It's my duty to tend to Saigyouji Yuyuko-sama. I have to return as soon as possible..."

She listened quietly to the boy, who she now knew as Accelerator, explain where they were. She had heard that there was a city in the Outside World called Tokyo, but... Akihabara? She'd never heard of such a place... wait, did... did this mean they were in the Outside World?! Needless to say, the idea of suddenly being brought to the Outside World with no explanation put Youmu into something of a panic, but before she could do more then look intensely distressed, Accelerator proceeded to deride her again! But... she... she couldn't just take that, she was a proud member of the Konpaku family! She hadn't been training and honing her skills just to be insulted like that! To put it simply, Youmu felt the need to immediately explain herself and tell him just why that comment was so rude!

"... It's nice to meet you, Accelerator-san, Misaka-san," the white-haired half-phantom began, myon drifting about behind her, "But I have to protest! I was attempting to-ah!"

She felt a light tugging on Roukanken's sheath, and immediately drew back, realizing that Misaka Misaka... or Last Order, as it seemed she was referred to, was attempting to take the sword! Placing one hand on the sheath, Youmu drew back, shaking her head.

"I... I am sorry, but I cannot allow you to handle either of these," she began, attempting to speak gently to the girl, "They are very dangerous, and they are also heirlooms of my family."
I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to officially state that I've dropped this RP. I've completely lost what I was doing and I honestly just don't feel like I can get back into it.
Saber

The tension was, momentarily, cut when a strange girl abruptly seemed to appear from no-where between them. And yet, somehow, Saber realized she felt something swimming on the edge of her consciousness when she looked at the girl, as if deep down she had realized she was there, and yet not truly noticed due to her distraction by Gilgamesh. Still, it was undeniably confusing, and Saber stepped forward quickly.

"This is no place for a young girl," she began, her tone stern as she approached her. The strange, eye-like structure, however, gave the King of Knights pause. What was it? She had never seen anything quite of that nature before, and she simply did not have the required knowledge to discern what it might have been. Saber was quite unsure of the nature of the girl, now, especially after her abrupt appearance. But she still did not wish to leave her between them.

Even more excited pictures were being snapped, as Saber once more listened to Gilgamesh's words.

As much as she disliked admitting it, he had a point. This was no Grail War, and compounded with the danger a fight posed to innocent people... there would be no battle here.

"... This... does not feel like such a war," Saber conceded, after some hesitation.
And so Kino showed off that she is basically a well-oiled murdering machine.
Kino

As a Traveler, Kino's normal course of action was to let things proceed as they went. Even if she may have found something wrong, it was not her place to interfere. In some cases, even if she felt something was deeply wrong, she could not interfere. There were a few cases where things did not follow this course. There were a few cases in which Kino did not have to intervene, and yet she did. There were a few cases in which neutrality no longer held its place in her mind, at least until the matter had ended.

A raised blade over the head of a woman carrying a baby.

In the blink of an eye, the girl had drawn her weapon. In a flash, she had pulled the trigger, a motion too quick for many of the burly men to even register what had happened, especially in light of the others assaulting their forces. The bullet tore through his chest, leaving an ugly hole as he stumbled back and hit the ground, dropping his machete, and bleeding crimson. He was dead before he fell.

There was no pause in Kino's actions. Hermes was left, carefully, near the train, and the dark-haired traveler broke into a sprint. Then men who were not already under attack were now her targets. The first swung a blade at her as she drew close, but ducking beneath it was no difficult matter. They weren't armed with Persuaders, merely blades, so it was a matter of getting a good shot on them rather then dodging gunfire. The Cannon was raised and fired, and the shot hit with enough impact blow apart his forehead, and send him toppling to the ground in a shower of blood and skull fragments. Kino's expression did not change. Little in her smooth, agile actions showed any of her internal feelings.

Killing brought her no pleasure. But everything that was happening here... Neutrality was simply not an option.

Two shots. Four remaining before she had to reload or switch to the Huntsmen. As another man attempted to take her by surprise, she spun and fired directly into his chest before he could come closer. He fell in mid-stride and blood pooled beneath his corpse.

Sakura Kyouko

Kyouko saw the train and assumed it was where they were intended to go. However, well... she wasn't about to waste all the food that was around. There were a bunch of pre-made bento boxes, who just left those behind? Without the slightest hesitation, she began her harvest. One box, two boxes, three boxes, four boxes... stacking them on the train swiftly, she went back out to collect even more. Five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten... at ten, she decided she'd come back later. Grinning with triumph, Kyouko boarded the train.

"Hah, there we go. That'll last me a day or two!"
Konpaku Youmu

Youmu winced a little when the boy hit the ground. Certainly, if he had an injury that required him to use a crutch, that had to be painful... however, it looked as if that made him more relaxed, as the tension in the situation steadily fell. Youmu let out a small sigh of relief. She hadn't wished to fight anyone here, not with her confusion over her surroundings, and it simply did not appear necessary. It would not even have been a sparring match for the enjoyment and training of participants. To put it simply, the small half-ghost girl was glad that such a conflict had been avoided. Now there was time for her to focus better on her surroundings...

The blue-haired girl had introduced herself as Aqua, and before addressing the boy's comment, Youmu decided it would be best for her to do the same. Clasping her hands in front of herself, Youmu bowed.

"My name is Konpaku Youmu," she began, as she rose back to a standing position. "I am the guardian and gardener for Hakugyokurou, in service of Saigyouji Yuyuko-sama, Princess of the Netherworld."

Youmu hesitated for a moment, Myon fidgeting behind her, before she decided to continue.

"I... am definitely not from here, er... I don't even know where here is, ah-hah..."

The small white-haired girl rubbed the back of her head, awkwardly. So much for looking serious.
Okay, going to try and get a good post up today. ^^;
