Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Tachibana Hibiki, Holding Determination in Her Fist

Even though they'd fallen over, that didn't stop Hibiki. She wrapped her arms tightly around Miku, as the other girl did the same to her. She'd already been worrying about how long it would take for her to get back, but now Miku was by her side and she didn't have to worry about that any longer! Hibiki only stopped hugging Miku when the other girl reminded her about the fighting nearby. That's right! She had to go see, she had to help out...!

Hibiki got to her feet, taking Miku's hand to pull her up to her feet as well.

"That's right..." she said, a look of determination growing on her face as she turned, eyes following the boy who had rushed off. He'd probably be going right for the fighting as well... The girl nodded firmly.

"Stay safe, Miku! I'll be right back!" she said, leaning in and hugging the other girl one last time before turning to sprint off.
Tachibana Hibiki, Holding Determination in Her Fist

Hibiki felt like the fighting was coming from the left, but... it could have also been the right, too... was it coming from both sides? Something bad was going on... which meant she had to hurry up and help out as soon as possible! She was just one moment from running in a direction and hoping when... she heard a voice. Calling her name. And there was no way she'd ever forget the sound of that voice.

"Miku?!"

Hibiki turned on her heel and... there she was. The green-eyed, dark-haired girl was running right towards her. So, naturally, the straight and direct path, the sort of path that Hibiki always took, was to run right towards Miku, leap for her, and throw her arms around the other girl without a moment's hesitation. After all, how else could Hibiki react after seeing Miku again so soon, after thinking it would be a while before she got to see her again?
Teleportation is probably the better option.
Saber, King Arthur Herself

Surprised when food flew at her face, Saber reached up and caught it in one hand, her agility as a Servant allowing her to stop it before it could even reach her and potentially miss her mouth. After a moment's consideration, the smallish blonde girl popped the dumpling into her mouth... and quite quickly found herself deeply pleased with the flavor. In spite of the strange method of delivery, it was indeed possessed of an excellent taste. She would have to thank the oddly-themed man later... But for now, there were more pressing matters. Such as the way the little girl had just vanished into one of the portals, the one pouring with fog. That, essentially, made up Saber's mind for her. On her honor as a knight, she could not leave a child undefended.

Light flashed up Saber's arm, bursts of blue energy flashing in the air as gauntlets formed, a hazy, indistinct shape appearing in her right hand as her clothing altered. The flashes of light flowed across her body, until her simple outfit had been replaced with a decorated blue dress and a set of armor. Without a moment's hesitation, she placed both hands on the hazy form, her cloaked Excalibur, and sprinted through the portal.

She was not greeted with a sight she particularly expected. It was a city. A modern city. New York...? One of the men had mentioned it... It was foggy. And in the fog, she could see... people? Yes, there were humans walking through the fog, but also... other beings. Things Saber did not recognize.

Needless to say, the King of Knights was left rather perplexed.

"What... is this, exactly?" she questioned, approaching the little girl named Jack, intending to stay close to her for the moment. Until she was certain that the child would be safe, she would naturally have to keep an eye on her.

Tachibana Hibiki, Holding Determination in Her Fist

Before she got any real responses, Hibiki found food flying at her face. While she normally was perfectly fine with food approaching her face, when it was tossed at such speeds she was really not prepared for it. All the girl could do was reach up and frantically grab at it with two hands. The dumpling slipped from between her fingers and fell forward, forcing Hibiki to launch herself forward and snatch it up before it hit the ground.

That would have been a terrible waste!

"Er... thanks?" she said, not sure how to respond to having food tossed at her like that. She hadn't seen where it had come from, but she'd heard the voice... and now there were three portals. Right, if some of these people weren't willing to talk, then she'd get to know them while they were working to protect the multiverse! Popping the dumpling in her mouth and chewing, Hibiki clenched both hands into fists and sprinted for the middle portal...

... And found herself... well, she didn't know where it was, but the scenery was pretty spectacular! No small part of the girl wished she could bring Miku here, it was an incredible view!

"Wow..." she said, approaching one of the hand railings and looking over the edge.

The sounds of fighting in the distance, however, quickly snapped Hibiki's mind back to the present. That's right! They had a job to do!

Hibiki spun on her heel, trying to determine the exact direction the sounds were coming from. Needless to say, the moment she figured it out, well... she would throw herself right into things.

That was just how Tachibana Hibiki worked.
Hmm. That... would probably be okay?
Gold statues...? What kind of bandits were these that went around setting up gold statues? That was just silly! Torako prevented herself from giggling as she followed along with the other two. Really... bandits setting those sorts of things up, like they were something impressive? Oh well. She shuffled along behind the others carefully, wisely keeping her mouth shut as she did. So far, there wasn't any real disturbance... either the bandits were further in, or they were all out. Regardless, so far, nice, stealthy entrance!

... So far. Torako was feeling pretty confident, though...
Hmmm. That doesn't seem unfair to me, at least. Aside from endless falling.
Hmm, you'd have to give me a little more information.
Tanya hesitated a great deal above the hole. Seriously? Someone catching her? That was just... just embarrassing. And stupid. But... unfortunately, it seemed to be her only option. Making sure to position herself appropriately, and averting her eyes, Tanya hopped into the hole.

When she was caught, it would be easy to tell the only weight was a small girl and the bastard sword. None of her armor appeared to weigh, well, anything. In any case, once she was put down, the short girl absolutely refused to even look at the man who had assisted her landing and instead determinedly headed down the stairs, towards the half-giant who was inspecting the lower stairs by prodding at them with her sword. None of them seemed to do, well, anything. Some were loose, but that was because of age rather then any hidden trap. It seemed that, in order for the mechanism further up to function, the rest of the stairs lacked any sort of function. The walls, however...

It could be an avenue of investigation, at least. If they could not trap the stairs more, was there perhaps something placed to kill anyone who idly placed a hand on the wall for balance while moving down the steps?

"... Judging by how you haven't disturbed anything, I would guess the rest of the stairs aren't trapped," Tanya commented, looking down to the hall below. What had killed the now-skeletal figure lying on the stairs? The skull wasn't even in visual range, as far as she could tell... the purple-haired paladin headed down the stairs, carefully, avoiding any crags.

As she stepped down onto the floor below, she heard an echoing clunk. For a moment, Tanya was worried she had set off a trap(wouldn't that look stupid?) but then she realized it was the floor beneath her. There was a hollowed space?

It didn't take a genius to put two and two together. The trap on the stairs must have made them smooth out, and slid the victims into a pit below.

Of course, her attention was swiftly claimed by a chattering from the darkness. Sighing, she placed one hand on Repharion's hilt and pulled out the blade with the sound of metal on leather.

From the darkness, she could see the faintly glowing eyes of several sets of what were, presumably, Great Rats. Currently they weren't attacking... currently.
Currently working on a non-post thing, but as soon as I'm done with that I'll write something up here.
