Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

With all that interest fast, leaving us with only two slots, here's the OOC.
It's the year 2032! An incredible advancement of technology has resulted in an enormous discovery, the advent of an infinite source of energy! Now, all across the world, enormous engines for the gathering of this infinite energy have been erected. Clean, efficient, and, of course, never capable of running out. One of the largest and most advanced facilities for this research is based out of Tokyo, Japan. A sprawling, dark building, reaching to the sky and down into the earth at the same time, much of the facility's work is utterly unknown to the public. But they are providing clean, infinite energy to the public, aren't they? And so, the facility, known as Infinity Light due to its connection to the infinite energy of the same name, escapes too much investigation.

There can't possibly be anything too terribly secret going on in such a place, and most people are sure it's just for the safety of civilians, in order to keep anyone from being harmed by potentially hazardous research. But there's been more and more commotion from the tall, dark building every day... It's been making some of the people living nearby rather uneasy. Certainly, Infinity Light is supposedly perfectly safe in addition to being perfectly clean, but...

What's going on...?

As it turns out, this isn't the whole story. Whatever is happening in the Infinity Light building has caused strange monsters to intrude into our reality. So far, they've been contained, but only time can tell for how long they'll manage to keep them secret and under wraps...

And what's more, something incredibly secret is about to escape from their deepest level of containment...

So... an RP aiming at being over-the-top, a work fitting of say, Trigger. I don't see many RPers aiming for Gurren Lagann or Kill la Kill-levels of craziness in action, so... hey, I figured I would try it!

I'm aiming for a low player count of around six given the premise. Players will be(preferably fairly young, though not mandatory) residents living near the Infinity Light building. Players may also sign up as up to three characters.

These characters can be people living near the building, or even employees of the research facility.

Given the small size of this RP, I'll be allowing players to exponentially grow their abilities.

Speaking of abilities, most characters will be gaining some fairly shortly into the RP.

Minami Fuuka

"... No-one's gonna time me?"

With a sigh, Fuuka tossed her stopwatch in the air and caught it again, jamming it in her pocket as three robots crumpled into heaps of useless shrapnel and two more were riddled with bullets, staggering for a few moments and collapsing into sparking piles of twitching robotic components. There remained four robots, one of which immediately raised an arm. It folded outwards into a chaingun and immediately opened fire, spraying the rooftop with bullets as it did, the other three robots advancing almost immediately. Fuuka sighed, and immediately sprinted to the right as she did, meeting one of the three advancing robots.

There was a hiss as its arm split and produced a blazing blade of what appeared to be pure plasma. Huh. How about that. As it raised its arm and swung down, Fuuka casually dodged to the side.

"Y'know looking fancy's not gonna get you anywhere, right?" she commented, raising an eyebrow. The comment was obviously not directed at the robot, and more towards the one who was in control of them. If they could hear it, at least. The blade hit the roof, and sizzled as it... failed to penetrate. After all, why would they make the building out of something so easily damaged?

Springing onto the robot's arm, Fuuka jammed her hands into her pockets and wound up before delivering a swift, hard kick to that circular ufo-style head, tearing it clear from the robot's shoulders. Without a moment's pause, Fuuka snatched the decapitated head before it could get to far.

"Oiiii, batter up!" she called, before hurling the head directly for the chaingun-using robot, hitting it right in the chest. "... Aah, where's your bat?"

With a shrug, she sprinted right for the robot as it recovered, even as it began to take aim and open fire again. Sidestepping and reaching out, Fuuka grasped the weapon and pulled, hard enough to send the robot staggering right into her next punch.

Moments later, its upper half hit the ground several dozen meters away.
He's working in another country, and in any case he's not the one holding it up.

I could post for the rooftop trio, but at the moment that's... It. Then again maybe a new IC post would help...
I really need more people to post so I can do anything.
That's evil.
No-one else? : (
For a few moments, Fanilly's mouth quietly opened and closed and she remained in embarrassed silence. Of course, it was hardly her business what her knights did in private(provided they didn't do anything criminal at least), but to hear such things... She managed only a little bit of mumbling before falling silent, cheeks burning with her embarrassment as she slowly directed her eyes to the floor.

"... G-goodbye, Sir Gillian, and... and..." she hesitated again. Just what was Nero's title now...? She settled on the one that, to her, at least made the most sense. "D-Dame Nero..."

She snapped herself out of it after both knights... well, one was currently a maid, had left. So... embarrassing... But now there was another matter in Fanilly's mind. There was time before breakfast for something she certainly did not want to neglect.

The Knight-Captain of the Iron Roses proceeded downstairs, further. The destination she had in mind was on the ground floor... it was a cool, gentle place. A place of peace.

Her embarrassment faded, and her nerves soothed. The Shrine of Mayon, and its neighboring Shrine of Reon, were an important part of Candaeln. After all, the Iron Rose Knights had once been a holy order, and that blood still flowed in their veins. As she strode into the room, the familiar sight of the flowing water around beds of roses, the windows letting in the morning light(or nighttime moonlight, depending on when one visited the Shrine)... it was a peaceful place.

Of course, this time, she was not alone here.

"Ah, Sir Tyaethe," she said, pausing for a moment. Tyaethe, after all, seemed to dislike being referred to with the newer 'Dame', in spite of being female. "Please excuse me."

Taking a deep breath, Fanilly picked one of the roses. From childhood, the blonde girl had been raised to pray at least once a day, to either goddess, and so, gently placing the rose between her palms and clasping her hands together as she knelt before the central pool of water, shutting her eyes. Above it was a small statue of Mayon herself, clad in flowing robes, arms spread wide and a smile on her face.

"Oh Mayon, Lady of the Moon," she began, "Please, continue to lend us your hand. Your generosity has guided us, allowed us to protect those in need. Your kindness has saved us, kept us from death. Your gentle, cool hand has brought us victory, and protected my knights from suffering. Please continue to lend us your guidance."

It was a basic prayer, asking for continued assistance. But this was because there were some words Fanilly was hesitant to speak aloud. Fanilly's doubts preyed upon her mind. And so, she asked for the kindness of Mayon to sooth them. She would likely visit Reon's Shrine, later, in order to ask for guidance in leading and battle... Fanilly could not help it. She feared the words of others were true, that she was not fit to lead... but she had to try. She had to try and prove herself. And so she asked the Goddesses for guidance, an unspoken prayer each day she visited the Shrine.

Fanilly opened her eyes, and rose to her feet, and gently cast the rose into the cool water. It was a sacrifice to Mayon, an offering to the moon goddess, of her favorite flower. A lily would later be burned, when Fanilly prayed to Reon.

Nero's entry into the kitchen would be greeted with, well... the kitchen staff was busy with preparation of breakfast. There was bacon, sizzling on a skillet to bring it to perfect crispy-chewiness, eggs being poached, and various foods being prepared. Indeed, it seemed that there was a lovely Eggs Chauntressy in the works. A delicious breakfast meal(suitable for brunch as well), Eggs Chauntressy was a dish of a poached egg resting on a Velt Muffin, with a coat of hollandaise sauce, and bacon. Some versions even featured smoked salmon...

Indeed, Candaeln's kitchen was rumored to be second only to the royal kitchen itself in the deliciousness of its dishes. The Kitchen staff was largely too busy to pay much attention to Nero right now, though they did allow her room to make her own dish.

However, the was someone not intended to be there...

Aralee placed her hands on her hips, beaming at the temporary maid. The pigtailed maid practically bounced as she approached her.

"Fufufu~ Now I'm not the most junior maid!" she declared triumphantly, pointing at Nero. "Which means it's time for 'Aralee Claervand's Hands-On Measurement Technique'! I have to see if that outfit really fits you properly, after all!"
I'm very eager to post at the moment, honestly.

Both to have Fanilly do a specific thing I have in mind and also take one step closer to the next arc.
