CS?
That actually makes a lot of sense for Scimitars. Push the blade up close, and you can just slice through your opponent with a draw cut, without even needing to swing.
@Blizz

Yeah. Tried to transfer this from a chatroom, but it didn't garner as much interest as expected.

Liklely excess kinetic energy tends to send thing's flying when they meet resistence. One the many things you learn from throwing fruit into the air and trying to cut it. Not as effective as when its stationary.

Mmmm. This reminds me of my first fight of the guild, when my character got blasted with a shotgun powerful enough to shred a small car into pieces.

I was under the impression that in their sphere of sword type Rapiers were one of the biggest and heaviest variants.

True. But their balance is shifted closer to the hand, which in combination with their length allows for them to have incredibly fast tip movement, as well as quick recovery and the ability to quickly disengage from a bide.
DJAtomika, always pay attention to you characters' surroundings. You may never know when that may come in handy - like, right now, for example.
Ultimately I suppose if there was one sword that outmatched every other in terms of speed in every circumstance there would only be one type of sword that survived the test of time, which is untrue.

Rapiers can outmatch most other swords in speed, being most dominant in the sphere they were used in. However, that isn't the only factor there is to wielding a sword, so that's why their effectiveness was only limited to unarmored duels.

EDIT: dunno why i posted this, since i'm sure you already knew that :p
I was in a practice match but someone hasn't replied to it in months...no seriously, someone, I forgot who it's been so long. I'm pretty sure it's a regular here. Curse you, someone!

EDIT: It was Vordak.

curses on me indeed(

I'm hoping to get back into active roleplaying with the new tournament though, and i don't mind continuing the swordfight alongside with this event.
Yes, i will be ruling this out in MelonHead's favor.

Since the first strike was aimed at Itsuki's waistline, this means that she has to move her whole body above it, and very fast - which means she generates a strong upwards momentum that she cannot counteract with her body, having to rely only on gravity, the latter being too slow to get her feet on the ground in time.

Judgement, however, still has his whole body to use, meaning that unless he swings his sword around like a baseball bat (which i think he doesn't), he'll be able to unleash a follow-up slash and connect it before Itsuki drops low enough to have it swing above her head.

However, as Grevious has already hinted at, all of the above doesn't mean that DJ has to take the hit. Not at all.
