I like to ret-con the setting so characters must be 18 years old before they can become a trainer/Coordinator or hold any position of authority.
Hey there! My name is Vyce (he/him, EST), and the pleasure is mine! 

I'm looking to do some RPs set in the Pokémon universe (open to playing in any region) with a focus on rivals-to-lovers dynamics, and want to maintain the anime's largely highspirited tone and lighthearted, noblebright vibe. Fun, campy adventure with plenty of humor and levity, hardedged positivity, semi-detailed Pokémon battles (without a four-move limit), occasional slice-of-life coziness, quiet moments of character growth, copious romance, the potential for smut, fluffy moments, that kind of thing.

Here are my general limits:
✗ Dry, barebones battle descriptions and four-move limits.
✗ Making the setting darker and edgier/grittier in general.
✗ Storylines where "jerkass vs. jerkass" is the central or driving conflict.
✗ Aggressively dark storylines consisting of 24/7 exhausting awfulness and perpetual misery/trauma porn, where the setting's drenched in indefatigable Dickensian-level suck and brutal systemic oppression.
✗ Toxic pairings with an abusive, grossly exploitative/manipulative/cruel dynamic or outright rapey vibe.
✗ Meek, naive or helpless damsels-in-perpetual-distress.

I'm looking to play cis-het  male characters.
Open to one-shots, short-term and long-term lines. I prefer starting with a self-contained one-shot and then expanding if mutual interest allows. My typical post length is 2-5 solid paragraphs (3rd-person POV); some writing samples are on this Google Doc.
I generally like highspirited campy adventure lines that balance story with smut, each element supplementing and providing solid foundation for the other. That said, I'm also game for slice-of-life romantic fluff where the pair have a preexisting/established relationship, basically skipping the "intro" of how they wound up together. Not looking to "fade to black"; we can discuss smutty specifics in private.
Sharing line-related media/personal headcanons and geeking out over lines makes my day, as do partners who are enthusiastic about the RP in general.
I typically post at least once a week. I won't "nudge" a partner unless it's been over ten days with no response; while I'll happily wait a good while between responses if partners keep me in the loop, I will archive a line after a month of unexplained/unaccounted for radio silence (but will generally be open to continuing if approached again).


Have a solid knowledge of the setting (at least having a firm knowledge of whatever region we're playing in and open to involving Pokémon from differing regions)!
Be open to writing semi-descriptive Pokémon battles! Placing creative spins on attacks, Pokémon being merely KO'd in battle, tossing aside the games' four-move limit...that sort of thing.
Be willing to play a cisgender female or trans-female character, with a 2D/art/anime faceclaim! A partner's RL gender is a non-factor.
Be able to write at least two solid paragraphs a post!
Put solid effort in their writing! I'm not demanding perfection, as I certainly can't provide it, but I do put solid work in my writing (proper spelling, grammar, etc.) and appreciate partners who do the same. No AI writing, please.
Communicate and be actively engaged in the discussion/planning process!
Be able to post at least once a week! I'm not painfully rigid about this; once we get the line going, I'm very patient and willing to wait considerable periods between replies if partners keep me in the loop.


I'm looking for partners to play physical, confident, assertive/tough female fighters who are a lot to handle--perhaps with this sort of vibe? ;)--or sweet, bubbly, affectionate sorts who love their neighbors (but will not take their crap). Ladies who possess class, sass, and ass (both in having a nice posterior and having the ability to kick considerable amounts of it when needed). 

I'm particularly seeking pairings with a fierce yet friendly rivalry. (Key word being friendly; abuse, emasculation, degradation, extreme/graphic humiliation and the like are no bueno.) You know, the pair being equals with a largely positive dynamic (steel sharpening steel and all that), as passionate in their mutual love--even if expressed in different ways--as they are in their fierce rivalry. (Think this vibe/dynamic, or Pokémon's version of the line "Thou and I are too wise to woo peaceably" from Much Ado About Nothing.) Above all, I'd want our characters to actually enjoy each other's company and the situations they find themselves in. See the below word/trope bank:

At the moment, there are certain female canons I'm looking for partners to play as, both within the Pokémon series and non-PKMN canon ladies I'd love to see crossover/transplant into the setting as if part of it all along. I wouldn't request flawless character portrayals, or demand rigid canon adherence. I'd be perfectly fine if a partner added whatever personal headcanons and character/personality spins they want or are a bit loose with characterization.

I have a few general open-ended prompts below (which we're certainly not limited to).

▷ The classic Pokémon journey with highspirited adventures and journeys is always a fave. (I'd greatly prefer our characters already be relatively experienced, rather than them just starting out.) A rom-com sorta deal with plenty of fluffy funtimes between two traveling trainers/Coordinators/whatever crushing on each other, with plenty of lighthearted moments (a Pokémon capture, a tournament or festival battle encounter Meet Cute, those sorts of things) would be delightful.

▷ I'd also be keen on some slice-of-life moments between our characters: Our characters making a bet on who wins a given battle, two trainers being in the mood to celebrate after an especially intense/noteworthy victory (or needing some comfort after a narrow loss), etc.

▷ Our characters being rivals and foils, their prodigious skills eclipsed only by the captivating nature of how different they are--one being a fiery force majure on the battlefield/stage while the other's the calm amidst the raging storm--and having sharply different approaches to life and their respective careers. Either way, their relationship is a constant shifting tide of counterplays where they trade victories regularly, their (mostly) cordial interactions in public always carrying an undercurrent of competition that never fails to draw the media's attention. ;)

▷ I'd also be game for some lighthearted adventure between rival Lara Croft/Nathan Drake-esque treasure or rare Pokémon hunters seeking a lost legend of antiquity.

▷ Something involving childhood rivals meeting again several years later as adults during an annual meet n' greet for newly-minted Gym Leaders or Elite Four members (especially if they specialize in the same type), or as professors at some elite Pokémon academy.

▷ I'd be especially game for a power couple sorta deal between two Champions/Elite Four members/Top Coordinators from different regions.

▷ A line where one or both of our characters are former members of a villainous team now trying to make good (or one of them is while the other has become a Pokémon G-Man/International Police agent).

▷ For a line with a more female-led relationship vibe, I'd also be game for a line between a female of high position/authority (Champion, Frontier Brain, Elite Four member, Pokémon Prof, Top Coordinator, etc.) and her husband, trying to have a romance while being in the spotlight.
