ALSO I EDITED IT

NOTHING HAPPENED

EVERYONE'S HAPPY
@Wade Wilson It's typically the outspoken people who post 'I'm gay and queer and PROUD' everywhere that are really annoying about it too. I wouldn't have known you're gay, which is exactly why I think people like you are a good example of how to further acceptance for homosexuals.

The goal should be to fit in even if you're gay, not to stand out. Standing out makes you a target. The nail that stands out... ya get it.

Yeah, I've tried not to go posting everywhere "HEY LOOK AT ME I'M QUEER" because it just attracts the wrong attention, due to those obnoxious ones that always want attention. But, to be honest, nobody fits in. We all stand out in our own way. The goal is not to overdo it.
It could be quite an event and I'd fully support it, but right now they're just going 'well, we're a minority, so you'll have to accept that we want to celebrate in public and do some indecent shit, or else I'll call you homophobe or bigoted!

As a homosexual myself, I can assure you that I'm not like that, and I don't know anyone like that, but I do see your point and I respect your opinion.
@Wade Wilson I am as much against gay pride as I am against hetero pride. I am against all forms of pride parades that take place in public. :/

Interesting. The way I see it, Gay Pride is an expression of who you are and that you've made it this far. You've got to think, homosexuals aren't sentenced to death in America, but there's still homosexuals being targeted. Take the Orlando club shooting, for example.
@Wade Wilson Well actually, the human rights violation that is killing homosexuals is definitely something that the world leaders can do something about.

Remember Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria? Those interventions all took place because a) terrorism and b) oppressive regimes that were breaking human rights.

UN support came based on that.

Now the real question is why doesn't Obama give a shit about homosexuals? The answer is, because obviously there's nothing to gain from enforcing homosexual acceptance in these countries. Literally 0 objective gain. 'Oh but we help the homosexuals and that's a gai-' no that's not a gain. We gain nothing from that except for a feel-good sensation which world leaders don't care about.

World leaders could absolutely intervene in these countries and I leave you with the question why haven't they.

As for hetero pride day, yeah that's a stupid American thing, nobody in Europe where I live has mentioned it and I stated before it's just a stupid thing people did because they feel villified for being straight.

I understand your point wholly and I believe it's a good one, but if you're against the whole Hetero Pride thing, why're you still discussing on this? I thought this thread was made for a Hetero Pride debate?
@Wade Wilson I'm thinking that donations are a naïve but helpful attempt at helping people, where as throwing a party to celebrate the survival of your own countries homosexuals where as homosexuals (among other groups) get thrown off of towers in Arab countries is a little less naïve and a little less helpful attempt at doing anything, at all, what so ever.

Well, since America's leaders can't do shit about it, I think the least they can do is show that they care, don't you think. It's more of an act of compassion than anything else, but at least they do it.

See, having a Heterosexual Pride Day? There's no reason behind it other than to make heterosexuals feel special and give them attention.
@Wade Wilson Ah yes, we need to have gay prides in America to celebrate surviving the homosexual persecution of ARAB and AFRICAN countries. I see.

So just because you're independent means you're not allowed to celebrate the homosexuals that survive in other countries? Does that mean I should stop donating money to help third-world countries?
@Wade Wilson I forgot American homosexuals get sentenced to death.

I didn't say it was American homosexuals.

washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/..

EDIT: I was also referring to a country I heard about (I can't remember which one it was now) where they used to punish them by death, but I do believe it's changed now?
I don't believe the original post of this thread was to shame heterosexuals, it's saying "you don't need a special day, you didn't used to get sentenced to death for being straight".
