Bio

Greetings, I am a member of an alien race from a distant and weird dimension. I happen to have a developed a taste for role-playing on the human internet and I am looking for a good community. I am very interested in joining Pulp Fiction, superheroes, Naruto and fantasy roleplays.

@Weird Tales@Mistress Dizzy I'm not familiar with the parent listed. Personally I'd like more information on the cartoon physics but I don't have any objections off hand.

Bat Mite is a Batman character. Is Raynard accepted?
@Prince of Seraphs

Is Sam accepted?
<Snipped quote by Weird Tales>

Just a couple of notes, for the being able to alter the weight of an object I think it would be better if that were a touch relative ability. The further someone is away from him the less he's able to do it. With regards to flight, I think that might be a bad idea however as a compromise we could say that he can lessen his personal gravity to allow him to jump really high.

Okay, I edited his powers. Is he acceptable?
@Weird Tales Oh. My character's name is Sam. Should I change that, because it might get confusing?

We can what the GM thinks of it

Well lets be honest. Should we even deal with transformations? Because they're pointless in the grand scheme of things. Example. Piccolo died to Nappa in one hit. He meditates on King Kai's planet for a month, and suddenly he can fight Freeza's second form and somewhat his third form? Yeah even if he did fuse with Nail, Nail was about Ginyu's level of power, or 20% of Freeza, so Piccolo would've had to have gained about an 800x powerlevel increase just meditating for a month.

See where I'm going with this? They're just pointless in the long end of things, a relic of the past, if you will. They arne't Super Sonic where the rules of the character drastically change, they're just power boosts in a story where power is dictated more by plot convenience than numbers.

And yeah, shes more Marvel/DC era stuff, because those have more character development than DBZ, which is where I'm more interested in playing around with. There is a huge reason why FF14 sucks and Undertale is amazing for example.

I'll clarify a bit more that shes running off game logic. Because in game logic, Ki isn't Life, its Ki. Maybe if they're out of ki she'll start taking from their life gauge instead, but that should describe things better I guess. And the void link thing will also mean that she loses power if they de-transform, if that makes sense.

Now another weakness I'd like to do is she can't break free of being 'tied up' very easily. Not sure how to word that though.

why are you even doing a DBZ roleplay? You've made it quite clear that you don't like the series that much. Transformations are a huge staple to the lore and have their place, it increases the strnegth, speed and energy output of a user. The problem with Light is that she breaks the idea of having any sort of stakes in the rp. Dragon Ball isn't a comic book where every kind of ability exists and it was made quite clear that super regenerative abilities were unique for villains and not heroes, hell even Fat Buu pretty much lost his healing abilities after losing most of his power and almost died fighting Kid Buu.

I have seen Light in several rps and from the look of her power set she belongs in a comic book rp. Again having a character with Deadpool like healing capabilities breaks the concept of the struggles that Dragon Ball characters go through. You can throw around how badly DBZ is written, but it doesn't change the fact that some of like the show and this rp is trying to follow that model and I for one love DBZ and think the show was great.
Well BC, let me explain how I want it to work, it comes out to be pretty balanced IMO.

Lets say Light has a power of 100 and the enemy has a power of 100. These stats can be split anywhere they want, but their skill TOTALS are the same. When the enemy 'transforms' or powers up, if their TOTAL stats go up, Light will 'match' this with the ability I'm calling "Void Link" or something, but wont match it perfectly, and will still be about 2% under the opponent. So if the opponent went to 1000, as long as Light is in combat with them, her power goes up to 980. The enemy still has a stat total of 20 points over her. It doesn't fully nullify the transformation, but it doesn't make it very good either unless it reallocates stat distribution like it should.

And its only on transformation abilities, stuff like charging for a big attack Light doesn't spike up to match since its a very temporary power spike, and lets face it, that wouldn't be fair. Same for temporary buffs like say, Arcane Power or something.

Meanwhile if Light was say, 80 to a baddies 100 and the baddie goes to 1000 from a transformation, Light goes to 780, keeping the 20% difference, plus her 2% penalty for scaling up. Still the same difference scalar wise.

Because lets face it, Super Sayan transformations mean nothing but to show how far a character has come in story development in a flashy way and DBZ abriged makes a good point that powerlevels are sorta pointless, and even Toryiama says the same thing. Its all about character and story development really. I mean, you don't see Edward from FMA going Super Sayan or anything, but he goes from a scrappy wimp to being able to kill neigh immortal beings just due to story progression and character development. So they aren't really needed. And your worry is that she'll make 'bosses' not very good or painful, but its only when they transform and shes still at the same gap she was before.

Of course unlike the enemy, Light CAN'T reallocate her skill points, so her speed/strength/ext is always the same percentages, while the enemy can possibly swap around theirs no problem, so instead of 30str 30spd maybe they have 40spd 20str or something.

And she'll learn it down the road, not right away, so it'll be a few bosses in before this happens anyway. :P

Meanwhile I just finished Undertale, and its a good game. Don't mind the graphics being SNES era and you'll have a good time. Plus Muffet is adorable.

my only complaints are that Light is basically a combination of an absorbing android and Buu, that just seems like too much. Also the purpose of transformations are that while they give a boost a person can burn through them quickly and it will be taxing on the body if they aren't trained properly. Super Saiyan 3 is incredibly powerful, but completely destroys the user's energy reserves after a short while. Light's answer to power gaining doesn't seem to fit the concept of how power gaining works in Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball was almost about training harder to achieve more power and pushing limits and breaking through them.

I'll be honest, Light seems like a Marvel/DC character put into the Dragon Ball setting.
Posted! So excited for this rp
Raynard's Theme

The bright sunny day felt wonderful as a calm breeze blew over the fairground and Raynard gave a refreshing inhale of the good air. It was a perfect day for the Millennial Fair and it was now his time to try and show off his entertainment skills to the crowds. He had been practicing some new tricks for quite some time and it was time to see if his hard work would pay off. Raynard got out his three magic boomerangs and began to toss them into air making them do quick aerial maneuvers. After they completed each trick the boomerangs would always come back into his hands with followed by oohs and aahs from the onlookers.

"There you have it folks, no one is better with Boomerangs than me. I will now show all never before seen trick by knocking three apples off the top of three separate fair tents tents" Raynard said to his audience and there was immediately scuffs and words of unbelief. He smiled and held a single boomerang in his right hand, preparing to throw it. Before he started his show Raynard had placed three apples on the top of the chosen tents and had to assure a couple of the owners that he wasn't going to damage their tent. Everything was ready and all he had to do now was throw the boomerang correctly and make it hit its three targets. He may have practiced a lot for this trick, but practice was never the same as doing it in front a crowd, one had to master their nerves first.

After taking three deep breaths Raynard throw the Boomerang and the projectile flew at fast speeds towards his first target. It easily knocked off the first apple and flew on towards the second fruit. It took out the second target, but it looked like the collision had knocked the boomerang off course and was going to completely miss the third apple. Instead the boomerang turned in the air and came around knocking the third apple off of the top of the tent. It then flew back into his the entertainer's outstretched hand and the crowd then gave a loud cheer. Raynard was so proud of his achievement and almost didn't notice the gold pieces that were being thrown into his coin bucket.

"Thank you for your generosity good people. I hope the rest of your visit to the fair is as good as this performances. There will be a second showing later today and I hope that none of you will miss it, so tell your friends and they too will see the wonders of Raynard's boomerang showmanship" he said to his audience with a friendly wave and warm smile. Raynard put his boomerang back in its holster on his sash with the other two and decided to have a look around the fair after collecting his well earned money. It would be a while until he had to perform again and he wanted have some fun around the fair.

"This day seems perfect, nothing can go wrong" he said to himself as he went buy some candy and then watched the races. He was surprised that people didn't look at him too strangely do to his inhuman appearance, but Raynard just guessed that since the fair had a lot of people dressing up as all sorts of creatures everyone just weren't as suspicious as they usually are. Weird looks or not he was going to have as much fun as he could at the Millennial Fair.
