Erika appreciated mister Crowmarty for the same reason she disliked him, the 'Teacher' in mechanics was a shark. Opened a business in bicycle and motorcycle repair and moved the operation in Open Roads to help the poor kids acquire manual experience, it was genius really, his labor cost him nothing and his profits were deductible as partly charity, plus some generous government grants and voila! Most 'students' went on working on ordinary bicycles and this is what Erika did, at first. She however quickly found herself an ability in engineering and remembering the parts and what made an engine tick. She wasn't a manual character however and even if she did understand, she was slow to actually put any of her skills in practice but no matter how slow she was, she was still one of the rare person competent enough to do Crowmarty's hardest, and most paying, jobs. Her education in fact was little more now than her working for him for, mostly, nothing and while she had a question she went and asked him in his office. It was however getting rarer and rarer as she had quite the memory.

She couldn't clean her hands enough after this and looking at her hands now always created a frown in her face. She was delicate, the kind to type at the keys of a computer or a piano, manual labor was another thing which was as painful as she had imagined.

"We only live to discover beauty. All else is a form of waiting."
--Kahlil Gibran

Anyone who did such a job for his entire life was a sucker and she was convinced of it. Manual labor only serves to achieve the goals of those with the ideas. Still, it was over and it was lunch time. She craved for canard confit with potatoes and a side of haricot with a sauce only the Luxor restaurant in her New England home town had the secret, but what passes as food in Open Roads would do.

In school, Erika had always been discrete, almost invisible in her demeanor, and surprisingly silent with her loafers. Today was no exception and as she walked to a table with her meal and went pass a girl with short hair who paid no attention to her, her quick wits couldn't help but notice a little something.

"Oh boy, and you're on your what, first week here? Haven't you heard? Winners don't use drugs." So she said, looking down on Callie's phone from behind her, with her pretentious quasi british accent.

On any other day before, Erika would have dropped a comment and then walked away to her own table, but not today. The reason? She was bored. The lunch time was 1 hour, more than she ever needed by half an hour and so, she needed a distraction. Something like a verbal joust. And so Erika sat right in front of Evans with a corner smile, again, oozing with arrogance and her eyes fixed on Callie's. *Now, distract me, pleb.*
And now to go with subtleinflections's Anthony, because Garrus.
"When you manage to break the laws of physics and create something out of nothing, please do come to me and I'll be certain to find a way to monetize this unique ability." So said Erika in a dry voice to the unknown man sitting next to her table.

Of course she knew that this was just a figure of speech on the part of this man and furthermore, he was only speaking to himself. But her humor however had been extremely bad in the last 4 days. Indeed, after 289 days here they decided it was best to remove the source of Erika's 'Addiction', if addiction there ever was, and force her to go about without her electronics for a change. She'd like to say she'd have never expected how dependent on the internet the modern woman was, but she fully expected it and it was as bad as she thought, her only regrets was humiliating herself in front of the entire building as she argued with Mister Rhodes. Of course these hooligans wouldn't understand that this computer was not a mere source of entertainment but her tool for work and studies, what would make her stare at all of them from the highest point of social hierarchy one day.

She had gotten up early in the morning, as usual, and had gotten in her white dress shirt and black pants (She never even owned a pair of jeans or jogging), putted her brown loafers and brushed her blond hairs. She always preferred to be first in the cafeteria, allowed her the privilege to chose a table for herself and not being forced with people. She had a reputation as an ice queen, something she embraced, which deterred most people to come near her... Well, unless they were newcomers and didn't know of the said reputation.

And now, before her was "Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey through Parallel Universes, Time Warps, and the Tenth Dimension" by Michio Kaku, the most interesting book she managed to find in this place, but even now it was closed as Erika couldn't find the will to read and she merely held her chin and cheek with two fingers. Next to her however, between herself and Anthony, was a tray with its content visibly discarded and only half eaten, its owner visibly picked through it for some of the best bits and left it there, still hot.
Any possible roomies?

EDIT: Also, possible list of courses/trainings?

Seeing how my character is the nerdiest/Possibly only one to have aced highschool, it would be interesting. Maybe have to use this time to help tutor others since she's more educated?
Name:Erika Sutherland
Age: 18
Appearance:

Personality:
Arrogant, cynical, sarcastic, intellectual, extremely self centered as well as somewhat 'Fake'. With others she can put her 'Game face', meaning suddenly become a charming cultured young lady but she only bothers doing so with individuals she feels are 'Worth the trouble'. With friends, while she'll do what she can for them, she's not the kind to seek company often and you have to drag her out of her hole, even then she'll often act like 'The Mature One' and be the one staying out of plans that sound ridiculous or stupid, although she can be convinced to join. Alcohol however as that way of turning her personality around completely.

Background:
A privileged girl born in a family of doctors extremely well off in the suburbs, she had the dream life and was considered mostly the dream girl by her parents: Studious, mature and ambitious about her future, someone determined to be the youngest billionaire of America, Zuckerberg and his facebook just had to wait. As she found herself a talent in both mathematics and informatics, it only took an article in The Economist to give her a terrible idea. In the stock markets, billions are handled by computers with sophisticated programs, as to trade quicker than any human ever could, but sometimes funny things happened, a stock dropping 80% before going back to normal a few seconds after. The idea was simple: Make a program to detect the factors causing these micro events and be the one to buy 80% cheaper to then sell back a few milliseconds later, almost doubling her amount of money in seconds, repeat a few hundred times per day and be rich.

She experimented a bit starting at 16 years old, her father saw this as her being willing to experiment with finance and was quite proud at first, giving her advices for judicious long term placements which she quickly disregarded. She kept her dealings, and the drain of all her money, a secret, her parents actually even decided to allow her control of the money they had saved for her studies seeing her as being mature enough to handle it, and while they were at it they boasted about the prodigal child to the neighbors and whatnot. She lost the money in a week and never told her parents.

They got a sign something was going wrong when they received a notice that their daughter (Who was apparently 21 year old), had made an 8 thousand dollar loan which was coming due. When they asked her she told them she knew nothing about it. When they started to get legal papers demanding to be payed back, they checked her account and found... nothing. Some other loans, her university funds, nothing.

They actually merely scolded her for hours, grounded her and handled the situation with their own money, making her promise to never to this again... something she promptly did days later and this time emptying her parent's credit cards as well, she actually came out on this saying not to worry that she only needed 2 thousand dollars and she'd be able to make what she had lost in a day if she could go to New York, the problem was obviously that the connection wasn't fast enough and thus she needed the micro seconds to be close to the trading floor would give her to outsmart thousands, if not millions of people and become rich.

Erika's parents told her that she had a gambling problem and that if she wished to stay, she'd have to go to a therapy and never touch a computer again until she left the house. She accepted, but left the very same night with her laptop and some clothes, stealing her dad's wallet and leaving a note that she'd be back once she managed to find all the money she had lost. It's been a year now and since she just celebrated her 18th birthday, the shelter's personal are worried that she'll leave exactly the same next year.

In the psychologist's words, it is suggested that Erika's problems come from her upbringing, with both parents working and putting so much value on career and material goods, sheltering her from outsiders, as much potential bullies as potential friends, this as made her unable to see any other definition of success other than accumulating material wealth. Friends, parties, birthdays, it's all meaningless to her and this needed to change. In a bold move, they decided for her birthday to remove her laptop. Of course she made a tantrum saying this was stealing her property, but they merely replied that she could call the police and be sent back to her parents like the runaway she was or leave the shelter, with absolutely no money or resources.

She went back to her room, her 'lair' as people in the shelter, who have lived with her for a year but barely know her, call it. Boredom oblige, she now has to make human contact, if only to keep her sanity, something the psychologists encourage greatly.
Name: Roland of Ariamis "Roland the Supplicant"
Age: Unknown, seems to be in his late 20s.
Gender: Male

Appearance

Items:
ROLAND'S MUNDANE SWORD: This most ordinary looking blade is in the hands of most as useful as it looks, yet it has slain more creatures and people than some weapons of legend. Whatever hidden powers it may have however, it remains a practical and extremely versatile weapon in the hand of any adventurer.
EFFECT: Imbued with mundane, scales with lowest stat.

SMALL CRYSTAL WITH A LOCK OF HAIR: A memento given to departing knights by their beloved is white of color and seems extremely silky, it was however sealed in crystal as to prevent the grim of the world to taint its beauty. As an undead, this obviously was something to help Roland retain his humanity and by judging the apparent age of his gear, it worked extremely well for him.
EFFECT: Diminishes Roland's humanity lost, if broken will be destroyed but restore all humanity.

BRIDEWEALTH RING: A crystal object that rather than radiate power, seems to absorb it. This vessel contains part of Roland's bride price to be payed at his beloved's father once the amount, whatever may it be, is acquired.
EFFECT: Diminishes Roland's humanity lost, diminishes Soul Gain, on destruction create a powerful sorcery damaging according to the number of souls contained.

ROLAND'S OLD DENTED SHIELD: Doesn't protect a whole lot in comparison to others, but the design and weight seems to make the user able to dodge more.
EFFECT: Increase agility when rolling, rolling costs less stamina.

ROLAND'S MINIMALIST ARMOR: A simple design that projects the vital areas of the body that tend to be targeted when an opening is shown.
EFFECT: Prevents counter attack critical hits.

ROLAND'S STRANGE GLOVES: This piece of equipment seems to be imbued with strange powers that somehow weaken it against every elements, why would one wear an item with such susceptibility to all spells?
EFFECT: Lower general resistance to all elements, allow switching spells in middle of casting. Casting remains the same and finishes normally, spell changes.

ROLAND'S PATHETIC HELMET: Of a generic design, and in fact a thing that seems to come from a desperate industrial effort to manufacture cheap gear, those looking at this armor can't help but see a lesser foe.
EFFECT: Diminishes aggression of the wearer.

ROLAND'S COWARDLY GREAVES: It is as important to get in the fight quickly as it is to leave it quicker and to stay in it longer.
EFFECT: Increase Stamina Regeneration.

Other:
An idea that Serp came with and although I know ASTA is opposed, I'll still show it in case it gets interrests.

As to justify how beings from one end of the galaxy to another are similar in look and anatomy to the point where they could put their dicks in their vaginas despite the billions of light years separating them, the idea of a common ancestor. An experiment for scientific purpose or the idea of a perfect pet/slave race, the humans to be engineered by the Kritans tens of thousands of years ago and seeded into space.

I plan on going full eldar for fan service's sake, but since I came to notice the spread of humans, this idea came up.

Thoughts?
Well, I'll go with 'People not worth being messed with, something telling a lot considering the tech there is to plunder.
I certainly wouldn't mind (Read your background, t'would make sense to have something left of your enemy, right?

Also would justify when my nation lost its Krytarch: The point where everything began to go to shit.

Note that most of my people probably wouldn't even take you seriously anymore 'Oh yeah, you're these guys we wipped out the galaxy' and all that. Some, the oldest, would probably care and hate your guts, some, those who find solace in war, would probably see you as a decent enemy to fight. Most would mind their own business.

Then again mine is a race that takes people not even as slaves, but as pets, distractions or torture dolls depending on the person, so I think my people have become all that you hate, but also the worst in you: An ancient race that thinks itself superior to all.

However while you think this gives you a duty over all life, my people think this gives them a right over all life.

General Info and Location
Name: Kritarchy (Outsiders) / The Pantheon (Insiders) / The Most Perfect Realm of Cray (Knowledgeable)
Capital System: Kritarch (Outsiders) / Paradise (Insiders) / Zola (Knowledgeable)
Dominant Species: Kritan (Outsiders) / Gods (Insiders) / Crayvens (Knowledgeable
Direction From Galactic Core: No idea.

Politics, Power & Economy
Head Of State: The Kritarch (Currently Vacant)
Head Of Government: N/A
Government Type/Operation/Description: The kritarchy is just that, a realm where the rulers are the judges. Their role is to determine what is just according to the Laws. Only the Kritarch can change the laws, but there as not been a Kritarch for thousands of years. There are 15 judges in total but the only real law with anything relating to property being thrown out of the window due to post scarcity is that of murder: A Crayven may not kill another Crayven. In truth, all of the 'most perfect realm' is a pure anarchy where anyone does what his whim demands.
Economic System/Prosperity: For some thousand years now nanomachines have become so perfected that the very atoms of matter can be altered and modulated as to create any material one wish. Crayvens are only limited to their imagination and no law regulates what is legal to be created or not, as such anyone can build a space dreadnaught out of sand with the best technologies of the galaxy. The triviality of such an act as, fortunately, made it extremely uncommon.

Empire Size: 1.72 billion.

Empire Power:
Considers itself a 'Galactic power', but really is a multi-stellar power that keeps itself to its home world and a core worlds. There are occasional Kritan colonies but they are often inhabited by less than 10 people fancying themselves explorers, and are often abandoned a few weeks or months later.

Type Of Power:
Cultural: Widely seen by other races as something above all else as the Kritans enjoy limitless freedom and the lowest of individual has a life quality not even the highest of any other race comes close to achieve. As the Crayvens also have no obligations to do, they are free to enjoy their hobbies, something that makes them a race of artists and architects.
Technological: Technology has been studied, perfected and refined and as they now come equal or above most technological powers, their greatest success was to make the use of such technologies ubiquitous and trivial. Where a certain tech may be a closely guarded state secret in another civilization, for the Crayvens it is readily available for anyone. Still, this aspect of their culture is somewhat stagnating at the moment as very little people bother with theoretical science.

History, Biology & Society
Race Name: Crayvens
Race Info:

Average Lifespan: Limitless, Oldest is 10,000 years old as of now.
Physical Characteristics
Dominant Society:
Moral Values: Complete hedonism and individualism, the lives of the Crayvens are determined by their 'Niche', the thing they like to do. Art, exploring, hunting, killing... They go well with people who share the same interest but rarely even consider others as existing. Other Crayvens are seen as entities of the world since The Laws prevent killing one another, but other races are considered barely as more than animals. Some are different of course, but even someone with a great relation with a human would probably think of him more like his favored pet rather than anything close to an equal.
Religion: N/A
History: The oldest civilization on record, great before pretty much all other powers were even star faring, history is losing itself more out of disinterest by its own people than mass destruction or anything of the likes. The general outline is that thousands of years before, the Crayvens were actually a race used to civil war on its own planet and abroad, that colonized to fuel its own destruction but that after one great war or another, politics were essentially abolished and replaced by The Laws. The Laws were meant to be the most basic as possible and to be interpreted by Judges, who would defer to High Judges if interpretation was needed, who would in turn go to the Kritarch if the laws needed to be changed. Laws without religious or racial bias, political dogma and whatnot: Only to insure the life of the people went roughly equally (A thing made easy, with technology). The Kritarch was then killed in The Last Great War by an enemy long forgotten and since then, none as stood up, simply because none was needed. After this war, the Kritarchy began to stagnate. Its technology was unmatched, its ability to change the nature of matter itself and the complete stigmatization of this ability made all equal: No one could have more than the next person. Accumulating wealth was useless, since anything could be fabricated by anyone without effort. They began to seek thrill, excitement, meaning. Technology had rendered them immortal through technology or genetic modifications, but each individual, being digital or so radically different from one another they could barely being called the same species anymore made it impossible for them to reproduce. The lack of a central government to provide safety insured that slowly their numbers began to dwindle. Dumb accidents, someone thinking himself invincible in a frigate attacking a fleet of dreadnaught for example. The main cause of death always being suicide of course. Even now, only half of this population could be considered 'Alive', others going for digital simulations where reality doesn't apply, essentially making them 'Gods' in front of the small AIs in their realms.
Technological Overview: They say that they have explored the very limits of technology that is physically possible in this universe. While they are much more advanced in almost all fields than any other, they have stagnated for milleniums now and while their theoretical understanding is unmatched, most people lack the imagination to do anything with this tech: Build a big laser, build a big ship... Unless the builder specifies to build a huge graviton laser and then again.
