Well, I'm usually more of the lurker type who posts PMs based on interest on what I browsed but I figured I might try my hand at the whole 1x1 Interest Check business.
I consider myself a literate person from a high casual to advanced level and would like my partner to be so as well. I can take control of many characters and while I've never been in a RP where both did it, it could be funny. For the world, if the setting is historical or fictional I like it when my partner is acquainted with google to do search on scientific and historical matters to keep things grounded in 'reality'. Suspension of disbelief is one hell of a thing. For anything mature I'm open to it, being fade to black or description intensive, but unless stated otherwise romance will not be the primary focus of my ideas.
Of course there is the matter of giving sign of life once in a while, while I was terrible at this myself some times ago I do believe I've gotten myself better and in the PM you send me to show interest (We can do threads, but I find PM's easier to manage.), I'd like average post rate to be mentioned and if anything should happen that would delay this rate, to be warned. If I myself vanish, a quick PM to ask me what is going on will not be frowned upon, I intend to do the same with you.
Now, onto it.
Rather than go with the usual student life, I'd say go to the upper echelon, that of the teachers. Two of them, anywhere between 30 and 70 years old, have been working together for a very long time, sometimes friends, sometimes rivals (Especially when it's departmental budget time), they do their best to entertain themselves and try to instil some love for the academics to the children, although they aren't beyond practical jokes even after all these years and have gained quite the reputation in the staff.
Two persons part of a movement experience it's sudden rise to the stage in a fashion not unlike Hitler or Lenin. Fictional or non fictional, past or present, they are actors in history but both may not agree on what actions they should be remembered by. Might be followed by a little something called Downfall if everything goes horrible.
In Venice, two families feud for the control of the city and commercial interest, constantly trying to ridicule the other and if at all possible cause his downfall. Still, sometimes they have to get together to solve problems threatening everyone or more domestic ones. What are you supposed to do when your child and that of the other fall in love with one another? These pesky Romeo and Juliet only have to wait, hate is stronger than love!

The Emperor as a very large amount of offspring as to insure that whatever happens the throne sees an heir, however this makes for a large amount of pretenders and many people who thinking someone else would make an emperor would opt to clear the family tree a little. We are 2 of his sons/daughers and unfortunately, it seems our aim in life don't allow us to live peacefully together. Backstabbing, poison, murder.
The Emperor is, errr, shall we say erratic, but he's the emperor. Your job as his right hand (For some reason he decided that you are his confident) is to insure his orders are followed and that he is safe from harm. After declaring that coins shall be square and that people had to pay a special tax for pants, this might be a challenge. (Off all ideas, I think there is a possible romance here)
