"We really need to go. I sense another vampire in the vicinity and he is being chased. I would prefer they continue after him than us." She looked at him and said. "I'll follow you...but if you betray me..."

Piper chuckled realizing he wouldn't hurt her. "You are correct to be confused. I am lycan and I am vampire. Hybrids are rare but I am not alone in this. I'm looking for a place that is safe from all who wish violence in these times of dangerous betrayals. I feel that I have fed recently so you are in no danger from me." She looked around the darkening woods. "We really need to get inside safely. Tonight is not a full moon so at least there is that." She looked at him carefully. "Mr. Grant? How are you out here in the woods? You don't seem the type to run around for no reason."

Nora looked away from Rick. "You want me to yourself but you won't turn so you can keep me forever. That sounds a little uncompromising to me." Nora was unhappy with the way this conversation was turning. She looked at Rick. "I don't want to argue. I did what was necessary to keep them from taking him away. Believe me he was so timid I don't think he even made a single sound." Sliding her hand over his she kissed him. "It would do us some good if all of this were to just vanish but as it won't I suggest we let it go and start clean."

Piper looked at this young man who was demanding information. "Mr. Holiday is it? I'm just a girl who lost her shoes in the mud. Why do you ask?" Piper was not about to tell him anything. She couldn't trust anyone at this point. She could smell that he was vampire and it was no matter that he was a good looking guy, he was still more likely to want to kill her than anything her mind could wish for. "What makes you think I would tell you anything? With the compact gone it's a free for all."

She looked for a way out. She really didn't want to hurt him but she would if she had to.

Ingrid dealt herself out of the game and ran after Vincent. "Aye, she did and she is a little better. I checked on her earlier." She followed him inside and asked him. "Can I ask ye a question?" When he looked at her she said "Why d'you want a girl who is married to another man." His expression made her step back only a second. "I noticed the ring on her hand. I thought you said she was your girlfriend but I'm thinking that isn't so true." She teased him a little. "So, why her? There are others, some of them here in the area that would love to be with you." In her mind she could picture the little girl he kept tossing out of his trailer. She smiled at Vincent hoping she came across as curious and nonthreatening.

It was late in the day and Piper had awakened in a ditch wearing only jeans and a tank top. She had no idea where her shoes had gone. It had rained and she was soaked to the bone and her hair was in her face. Piper was small by most standards, she was only 5foot 4inches. She ran as far out of the city as she could before realizing that she had no idea where to go. There had been people chasing her and now they are gone. She was scared to remember what happened to them. Soon the vampires would be out. They too would be after her. Piper was so screwed and there wasn't one species left for her to count on. They all hated each other and she was all of them combined. Her thirst for blood was under control for now but there were times it was insatiable.

Piper darted into the woods and ran hoping she would find a safe place.

Ingrid opened the door and snuck in closing it behind her. She looked at Nikki. "Are you the pregnant one?" Nikki nodded. "Are you okay? I saw what they did. Did they hurt you or the baby?" Nikki was surprised at the young woman's questions. No one around here had seemed to notice much else but how to hop around and do whatever Vincent said. Ingrid thought Vincent was wrong and she was going to help Nikki any way she could. "I think we are okay." Nikki said watching her carefully.

Ingrid left the room and she went outside to see where everyone was at. She counted the guards and brought them more booze. Laughing and encouraging them to drink she got them playing cards. When Vincent made an appearance she laughed at something and asked him to come play cards with them. "Vincent! Come and play cards with yer crew."
