Oh well, since I turned this to a mini QnA for a while, may as well tell what kind of character I was thinking.

Keith White, highly successful young millionare who secretly is also into some more shady businesses.
He has his own personal military equipped with high-tech gear.
One of their specialty is to catch or neutralize superpowered opponents using not just their technology but also fluidly timed tactics.
In the RP I used him he was supposed to mess with bullet timers or even more ridiculous metahumans. Occasionally we talk about enemies for whom citybusting killsat lasers are not even a hot bath in comparison.
The point is that Keith White uses his brains to turn around a hopeless situation to a potential triumph.
His reason was partially because he wanted to keep the superhumans in check, to humble them and make them realize those mere powerless men still have lethal fangs.

The difference is, swords aren't NPCs, they are classified as equipment - and most people recognize that, which is why you wouldn't see anyone auto take your swords, unless they are one of those super godmodders.

But, it's not two different things. If you enter with day a main character, and he has say, 4, flanking people. Those are considered NPCs, the one that isn't is the main character and they fall under the general NPC rules. Unfortunately, those didn't also make the jump to NuGuild, as it were, but they are the same.

I liken it to the Skallagrim vs DJ fight, again. A Gothi vs a team of trained veterans; CHo was the main one, leader as it were, and even though the rest were trained, they were still considered NPCs. If they weren't, and were more or less considered individual characters, that would have been a wholly unfair fight.
???
You don't make much sense here.
What if the character can use remote weapons like Funnels that float around and shoot from multiple directions? What if the character has some attack that launches strikes from multiple directions at once?
Same deal with 4 mercs.
This is especially ridiculous since apparently you categorize summoning as something else.
While you can pretty much just use the same rules.

If there's one guy versus other who uses an entire army then of course the Conservation of Ninjutsu is at play.
The mercs of Character B are individually weaker than Character A. That's given.
Similarly the aggregate combat potential of the two forces must be similar.
So 10 mercs or even 100 mercs against Character A must still mean that both sides have somewhat equal chances to win.
Seriously, this shouldn't be difficult to guess.

Instead you give an explicit leeway for character A to cheat...
Interested. For Co-GM and RP. Test required?
Well, I didn't think about it that way.

Anyways, perhaps it's better to explain why I'm already looking for a Co-GM.
I have lots of ideas and can organize things well.
But if I have to choose between being a player or GM I'd chose the former practically any day.
It might be slightly selfish but I'm looking for somebody who would carry this game in case my activity would decline.
That and I'm already participating in a numbr of RPs so I don't have too much time to be a GM.
I know this is a bit selfish but basically I plan to help getting this game off the ground and then let another user inherit it.
I could Co-GM, if need be, but apart from an obsessive knowledge of military history I'm not sure there is a great deal I'd bring to the table. If that's what you need, though, then I'm right here.

Also, are we to just carve out bits and pieces of that there map you've got? And is that map meant to be accurate, or is it in the game as it is in real life, a warped, incorrect version of reality?
My knowledge on 15-16th century military history has some gaps in it, so help on that is of course appreciated.
Otherwise wording it as Co-GM might be even incorrect. I'm looking for a GM who can carry the concept with me and I can leave managing this game in his/her hands.

As for the map, of course that's just an illustration.
The actual map I'll be using is a blank modern world map.
Albeit if everybody picks countries instead of drawing borders, I may not even need the map but a nice summary.

In theory, they can - and in some ways, that's the point. Otherwise, nothing really stops people from making it, effectively a one on -insert number of NPCs/minions.- SKallagrim vs DJAtomika played this out well, but then again, Skallagrim isn't the type to nuke all the NPCs at one time without sustaining some type of damage in the process.

In general, or at least to me, the NPCs/Minions are really different words for the same thing. Random mooks designed to be destroyed. Nothing, however, stops you from controlling the ones you have left to make some type of attack against them - and hope to the high heavens you aren't going up against someone who'll stand toe to toe with 100 minions and defeat them all in a blur that rivals that of the blur in Smallville.
You talk about two different things.
If somebody does a "lazily insert random number of enemies to beat X" then it's either a clear abuse or the character explicitly has such power and then he's probably up against people who are on similar level.

What you describe is very much the same as somebody instantly destroy your swords, disarms you and then render all your powers useless. These are done in a plain unavoidable autohit abuse.
Would you recognize this as being fair?
Autokilling minions is the same.

Interested. I always liked the time period, but I never see it much represented in RPs or in fiction in general. Do I need to post a nation here, or is there going to be a move to an OOC where that shit will start?
Of course there'll be an OOC/IC and such like for any other thread.
Of course you can also post your NS here until the actual thread starts.
We can start building this setting in the interest thread.

Another thing, I'm sure I'm going to need at least one co-GM.

Do we get a cameo by an actual giant robot? :O
We can get an actual giant robot if my second character is accepted.
Bonus point is that he's a villain and his powerset kinda mirrors what Nono has.

<Snipped quote by Raineh Daze>

I'm waiting for the part of the RP where we fight giant space monsters, so Nono can cut loose without worrying about that sort of thing :p
Meanwhile I'm near-useless in space.

If i remember right, NPC characters aren't the same as summons.
They kind of have the same role in a battle, though.
Also rather than NPC characters it's more correct to call mercs and such as "minions".

How about instead of this argument you post in the damn IC
I did it hours ago~

<Snipped quote by Willy Vereb>

Any kind of character is allowed. We aren't limiting them, but they'd have to be tiered appropriately. Skallagrim just took on a army trained squad alone; but you'd have to realize the NPCs can be killed by the opponent with auto-hits, eventually leaving you alone.
That doesn't sound fair.
I can understand if there are more lax rules regarding NPC fighters but the way you worded it'd mean the enemy character does a random AoE attack and kill everyone but the other player while technically the said soldiers may have means to do something against it.
