Keep in mind that Babur also blames the elves for arming the natives and inciting rebellion. He feels compelled to get them out, and soon.
And that's another issue.
He literally has no proof and given the fairly unique equipment elves use it's fairly easy to determine if somebody is using their weapons.
That and he misses the plain obvious fact that bombings were also rampant on the elven side, and these killed even more people. As the first IC post shows the explosions were plain heard from even the other side of the border.
I don't buy this. Babur has number of ways to know Yllendthyr has no hand in the bombings.
At best he may spread this rumor as Babur's casus belli.
Which is actually not a bad idea, either. Branding the enemy as somebody who supports indiscriminate murder against Tinties is quite a good excuse. It works well even in our world.

EDIT: That's the same deal for practically every colonist around that time. They ignore the natives and claim right as the only dominant European power. IIRC, the Portogese also tricked Spain because unlike them they didn't know Brazil is that big.
In your case Babur's response is full of sour grapes. We are well past the colonization so he's asking the impossible by demanding to hand over a well-established state. Please tell me he isn't serious with this and only attempting to goad Yllendthyr into a war.
They know that you won't cede the territory, I even said that in my post.

As in for downright ridiculous, there have been plenty of absurd claims throughout history. Just look at the Treaty of Tordesillas. Not to mention thay Tin is rather ridiculous ad well.
Well, then I wonder how did they survive for this long.
Dividing up the New World between two powers who already dominated it is one thing.
Making claims on land with no basis is another. Your sultan states this as if he had any legal claim over Zanshir when it's just one of their newest conquests. They just weren't fast enough to take it all before Yllendthyr also set foot on it.
The Tordesillas Treaty was unfair in many accounts but based on a valid premise. Your letter has no grounds behind its claim and pretty much is just asking for trouble.
I get that Tin wants all of Zanshir. I get that they're crazy. But Babur is supposedly adept in military matters so he may know that currently waging a war in Zanshir isn't the best idea.
Or is he rushing to capture Zanshir because he fears an incoming war where Yllendthyr may use the islands as their front base?
Well, that sounds like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Unless Tin conquers the elven part of Zanshir quick he's forcing Yllendthyr to fortify the island and put some decent military power behind it.
Then again, wisdom is a gift for the elderly.

Alright, finally I got some time so I'll be making the OOC today.
@Commodore RobotI'll take up your offer to be Co-GM. Let's see how it goes.
@Willy Vereb

Well, Tin just gave Yllendthyr something to talk about with that letter
Your demands are downright ridiculous in that letter.
So either Yllendthyr will ignore and pretend like the letter was never properly delivered.
Or tell your Sultan straight that just because his predecessors were nutjobs it doesn't give him the power to make claims and accuses without any basis. Of course told in nice round sentences which may even praise Babur on the surface.
Overall, this would reinforce the Empire's impression that your Sultan is too young to lead. Whether it's good or bad to have such belittling reputation within Yllendthyr is a matter of how you use it.

Alright, since Raven gave up on trying to post with Harald, anyone else is willing to take the role?
If not then I just pot with Kyo and Harald reaching the Barracks.
Still, he's the squad leader so in order to make the RP going we still need somebody to do it.
I'll probably make a post for starting/responding to various subplots with Yllendthyr.
The main part probably will be my actions on Zanshir Islands.
@InnueThere aren't any problem with doing a little math. Hell, it's only a degree more difficult than adding or subtracting values.
The problem is with the indications.
Fixed point gains give us a nice and predictable system. Yours would be almost like a mess in this aspect.
It'd introduce complex strategies which may not discriminate against new players but in return would pretty much bane players who participated in more matches in the beginning. They'll be around the top and earn meager point amounts while a "newb" can technically catch up to them in two matches at worst.
It may keep motivating people but I strongly feel you haven't thought about the full implications of this system.
@InnueI feel this kind of system would bring too much complexity to an otherwise simple game.
100 points per win is enough.
The only question is about the point gain for the losers.

Maybe you only get participation points if you are below a certain point total. Newer people would need the participation points more to catch up and feel motivated while veterans wouldn't feel as big of a need for participation points. This would also allow people to catch the veterans easier, getting up to a certain number before loosing participation points and having to catch up the rest of the way on their own two feet.
This method could work.
The only problem is, like Rilla said, that people aren't anywhere that far apart that we can determine a limit. So this would effectively mean that, at least for the time being, we leave the system as it is.
I'm fine with the idea and really I have yet to gain any points but this effectively doesn't solve anything.

@ImpaqtYou may feel that's unfair for people to lose their 25 points but there's perhaps an even larger group who never benefited from it yet. If we make a change to the "rules" then it has to be done consistently. Neither those who made matches before or after the change should benefit in any way.
Taking away points these people got by losing may leave a sour taste in a few people's mouths but remember that points are technically a "reward" and as it goes such things only go to the winner.
That being said I also support ImportantNobody's idea, but of course I leave the decision about the details to more experienced players.
I'm rather busy so at best I'll be only able to post near the weekend.
And even after that I'll be having a lot to do next week.
So yeah, expect reduced activity from me.
I will forever go down in history as the one who made page 2.

Sorry for the shortness of the post, but it's almost 5 AM and I haven't slept yet. I'll deal with the other letter (the one from the Hambrian Republic) in my next post.
...You call this short?
Seriously, there's no need to go Elf Style and write 4 paragraphs of scenery porn just to make your post seem longer.
Even if your post is just one or a few paragraphs, that's still fine so long you responded to everything you wanted to.
that being said I only skimmed through your post but i doubt I am making any hasty judgment here.
