It's pretty cool also, I can see you like using acronyms a lot XD

From what I've seen of your army, your navy has a flagship class (the Vega), and two corvettes/fighters (the FINDER and TOAST), did I miss anything there?
You may want to read it over.
FINDER is more like small or medium sized drones that fly in the skies usually for scouting or search&destroy missions. There are of course space-capable drones but those are usually called by other acronyms.
TOAST is basically a do it all space shuttle. You may call it a fighter but in general you don't really need dedicated fighters in the Federation to begin with. While Q-Box are less efficient than what they could achieve with actual dedicated weapons it allows such versatility that pretty much the only way to fight a starship to match one of similar power against it. There are room for tactics for sure but in general the formula is simple as that. Massed waves of fighters usually only invite a massacre without doing much to the starship. Again, there are exceptions with the use of good tactics, mind games or abusing technology in unexpected ways but the standard formula makes fighters in the Federation without any use. Besides fighters are another Last Great War term which nobody uses nor anyone designs vehicles with that purpose to avoid negative rep.

I'll let you post IC first.
.
How do you like my profile I posted in the character page here?
I have yet to add other spaceships to the list but I expanded on the units a bit. For example adding TOAST to the mix.
Seriously, those things are space fighters/shuttles, atmospheric craft, transport/troop carrier and battle tanks all at once.
Think of it like how technological advancements made it possible to make a tank which both great speed, firepower and mobility all at once thus making obsolete the old light, medium, heavy tank classifications. It's kind of the same expect turned up to eleven.

Well, you'd need something like the internet for that to be plausible.
Early development of internet might be an interesting addition to the setting but I feel it might change too much.
Granted personal computers exist in many countries so perhaps you can adopt that between allied states.

On a different note, I introduce a new prototype artillery:

@Willy Vereb that's fine with me. I suppose it's fair to say that the NAU possesses quite a few overseas bases due to the war. NAU is really an masterful expansionist, using every event ever to further expand :)
I imagined more as you adopting a semi isolationist policy to the GW and made a killing from the loans and trade.
Otherwise your army would be busy with the Badlands or so.
You are free to imagine up a different scenario. Just tell it to the involved players.
I spent a while to think a solution for the clusterfuck which is the Great War plot in our history.

This is basically a mix of WW1 and WW2 into one conflict. Albeit tech-wise it'd be likely closer to WW2.
What do you think?
Did I get things good or you wish to change something about your nation's involvement in this plot/history.

That will work. I can arrange that to be part of my introductory post - preparations for an event of that nature in the future.

And yeah, I see these as mostly older models that have gotten some upgrades in Malagasy to make up for their age, but they're still... well, old tanks.

<Snipped quote by Sigma>

I guess it'd depend on who else participated in that war?

If it was just Jodesia vs. Franco-Iberia and Hungary, then Malagasy Enterprises would probably stay out of that. They'd have it covered, and there are no formal alliances between Malagasy Enterprises and the major world powers. However, they'd totally have kept trading with their business partners.

If there was a truly serious threat to the survival of their partners, Madagascar would send supplies and troops to help out Franco-Iberia and Hungary. So, if the war turned out to be a close victory, then Madagascar would have jumped in and helped.

Besides that, the corporation has probably been busy butting heads with the Great Han.
I am actually considering the idea of Great War to be about the emerging issue of mutants/abhumans/beastmen and how to treat them.
Or more like a reoccurring issue just subdued for so long.
Jodesia was either anti-abhuman in policies or were near-neutral but other issues like missing out expanding into Africa motivated them to the ones actually starting the war.
Basically they picked the short end of the stick and participated in a war which wasn't even actually about them.
Anyways, due to this reason Jodesia can maintain amicable relations with us even though we used to be enemies.

How does it sound?

Star Federation of Mankind

Civilization Overview
Star Federation of Mankind (usually shortened to Federation or SF) is a supernational government of all humans. It forms a polito-economical union with the numerous governments in the Solar System and its neighbors. The Federation's origins date back to about 300 years following the end of the Last Great War, the most destructive event of their history. Weary of war and to prevent this from ever happening the committee decided on strengthening international communications, integrating economic systems while synchronizing politics to better reconcile with each other. They planned it step by step with the eventual goal being complete unification within a hundred years, a dream which never happened. From the outside the Federation may seem like a single body but in reality they are anything but that. There are countless nations and political parties each pushing their own agenda. Humanity may have avoided major wars for centuries now but their political forums are very much like warzones themselves. Similarly what once was a benign movement for peace and the good of Mankind turned into the plaything of economic powers. Money is the king within the Federation and as long as they can get away with it the political powers engage in various unethical deeds for profit. The Federation is a highly advanced civilization with many achievements, but this also made them overly confident in their technology. Also ironically enough until just a few years they had difficulties to develop decently fast FTL drives, thus remaining largely isolated from the galactic community. They observed near-certain signs of distant alien civilizations and even sent out probes but the Federation has yet to make contact with any sentient lifeform other than themselves.

Military Overview
The main military force of humanity is the Federation Starfleet. They are a multi-national force recruited from the military of other nations. Starfleet has strict selection process and only allows the best. While combat skill is important they put even more focus to human relations and handling stressful situations. They are hardly the only military, though. Each national government maintains their own military and police forces as well as security forces employed in private sectors. Still, when it comes to military power Starfleet is the largest factor, especially in terms of space force. Due to the memory of the Last Great War the term warship and associated aesthetics garnered a huge negative opinion. To avoid being labeled as proponents of war Starfleet eschewed dedicated weapons on their starships altogether. Instead of cannons, guns and missile bays the Federation uses modified Q-Fabs to create projectiles and launch them at various exits. Following that these projectiles are assisted and directed by altering the function of the shields. The end result is the Q-Box, a versatile weapon system which may be less powerful and much less efficient but with centuries of relative peace they never needed more. On the ground the Federation relies on drones and robots considerably though because of the terrors during the Last Great War they are always accompanied with a human operator supervising them. Anything done by these machines is the responsibility of the operator. Overall the size of the Federation military is small and their equivalent is almost more focused on PR than actual military needs. That being said their highly advanced technology allows them to get away with this surprisingly well.

Starfleet obviously put the most focus on space forces. Their starships are top-notch to maintain their overall edge. Many technologies and scientific developments are first employed within Starfleet and knowledge of basic ship system is one thing all Starfleet members are well educated in. On the other hand the memories (or ore like propaganda) about the horrors of the Last Great War made the term warship taboo, as well as anything associated with it. While pistols and rifles are an accepted symbol of authority, any vehicle/vessel sporting gun turrets or any large weapons would be likely mark their users as crazy warmongers. As such rather than using actual weapons Starfleet developed the Q-Box, a weapon system relying on already existing elements to use them for offense. In terms of effectiveness the Q-Box certainly worse than purpose-built weapons but the Federation's technology is lenient enough to make these work. Believing in quality over quantity Starfleet has relatively few starships but each can pack quite a punch. The term "Starship" was actually coined by Starfleet to designate their new "not-warships" as a PR move. Since then any ship with interstellar capability is dubbed starship which was an intentional move in order to further mask from the general conscious the terrible firepower concentrated within Starfleet's hands. For similarly PR reasons the Federation had abandoned the old custom of using wet navy ship classifications.

In that case, let's leave it as a huge question mark. It can be implied that MAYBE there were some dealings between the East Africa Trade Group and the U.S. involving genetics, but there's no solid proof for or against the idea.

@Brink_@Willy Vereb Gonna go ahead and make it a finalized statement: Malagasy Enterprises USED to buy its tanks chiefly from Hungary. However, in recent years (15 or so years) it's been buying more tanks and planes from Franco-Iberia instead due to their common background. The one tank it still buys from Hungary is the HK-27 Lehel, which is a tank most Peacekeepers are familiar with and so has proven harder to phase out. If a contest between the two nations goes down to prove who makes the better tanks, then Malagasy Enterprises will watch with GREAT interest.

The HK-27 is a mainline tank, so this is actually a considerable purchase Malagasy Enterprises makes.

@Inkdrop Mutants/abhumans/etc. are tolerated in Corporate Madagascar. That's not to say they're loved; they're definitely treated as second class citizens. But they're tolerated. Malagasy Enterprises puts money first and would happily make deals with your nation if it seemed profitable.

@Nerevarine Should we work out what sort of bad blood there may be between our nations? Past wars? It seems very likely to me that they've tangled with each other in the past. I reckon that your nation has the superior navy, but my nation's population and probable land superiority have kept them pretty evenly matched with some wars resulting in losses for one side and some for the other.

@Monkeypants Yeah, I think Corporate Madagascar is definitely supporting the separatists because they figure the two main North American nations aren't going to try punching Madagascar with the distance between them, and they've got a lot to gain by having a third major power crop up in North America (though the Grogar are 100% not compatible with Malagasy needs). So, they're supporting the separatists. That could cause some tension.

With that said, they'd happily help the NAU expand its borders into South America. Why? Because the NAU is friendly with Franco-Iberia. By helping the NAU, Malagasy Enterprises hopes to earn the favor of its "kindred" state, Franco-Iberia. This would probably come in the form of public praise for the NAU's efforts to "civilize the south," trade deals, and maybe even some small military support once the fight gets to Brazil. Both nations are in punching range of that place, after all.

@Isotope We've already agreed that our nations have a cold, standoffish relationship, aye?

@Taeryn Okay, so since both nations are willing to set aside ideals for the sake of mutual benefit and profit (because of course they are), do we want to establish what sort of relationship they have? Trade would definitely be involved.

I'll add that Corporate Madagascar's relationship with your nation will also depend on your nation's relationship with Hungary. Madagascar doesn't want to upset Hungary too much if it can avoid it. They've got a good business relationship going on.
Looks good to me. Reminder that I have yet to ask around people about nation relations.

Anyways, if you used to have Hungarian hardware then I suppose your HK-27s are also older models, likely upgraded domestically.
As for competition my original idea was that you'd be the host and the results could decide which tank to adopt.
@Brink_
Although I still wonder what kind of tanks Franco-Iberia have.
Should I assume something similar to what the French had in the 50s? Those are some sweet tanks, mind you.

BTW, how would our international relations to be?
I assumed we fought together in the Great War but against whom?
I think it's about time to solve the loose ends.

<Snipped quote by Willy Vereb>

Let's go with our full military might, so both of us can use our space, sea, air, and ground forces if we have them.
Pardon for the delay I am kind of occupied with things so I neglected you without really intending it.
All of them is kind of given. But the point is that such terms are way vague. How large battles you wish to fight?
Technically since starships are so OP you only need a couple of them for almost any job so even when there's a large-scale battle you'd most likely only see dozens of them or so. Albeit there might be lower tier ships operated by the local forces.
Sounds okay with you?

How about ground battles? Federation in general doesn't fight in massed warfare and rather they utilize smaller but well-trained and extremely well equipped soldiers on the surface.
In contrast I suppose you can just spam large armies of those creatures and be fine.

Anyways, for better clarity please write for them a profile in the characters section.
Here's a few examples what I am talking about:

<Snipped quote>

That might be a good bit of roleplay. Malagasy Enterprises would be watching intently.

Perhaps, for the time being, Malagasy Enterprises purchases its planes from Franco-Iberia and its tanks from Hungary? Or certain mainline tanks from one, and certain mainline tanks from the other.
I don't wish to butt into what you want with your military. Realistically picking one type of tank from a nation and another fulfilling the same role from another is a bad idea. But this is a game so it's up to you.

But yeah, IC competition between manufacturers could be fun.

Getting alot of fantastic discussion in here!

I just want to add, dont forget about aircraft XD

I sell some pretty cool stuff :)
I have plans for other planes, too. For example I might build flying saucers. They were testing those back in the 1950s.
Some small mech and jet speeder might be made, too.
