The time it took the disoriented human to process Magnus' questions and the strictly limited options he had was significant. The great horned demon leered at Luigi as the moment ticked by, his patience running out like the last grains in an hourglass.
Their time together would be cut short however, since already a thunderclap announced Youmu's return with that damn supernaturally sharp blade of hers. Again, she and her spiritual counterpart attacked, and this time Magnus did move. He side stepped, driven apart from his prisoner, dodging the cut to his midsection, but giving up ground. "I've had enough of that blade." He said with a sneer. A red glow from his eye indicated yet another spell, and Youmu's hand suddenly was burned by the now red-hot Roukanken. It was too hot to touch for long, certainly too hot to use, but before Magnus could do anything untoward to her, Ryu was getting involved.
The dragon-man had unexpectedly disintegrated all the magical snakes with some kind of blur-charge and transformation. As a small golden dragon, a being of holy and light energy, Ryu was also able to puncture the chaos shield that had held Luigi captive, causing it to disintegrate as well. Luigi dropped like a stone to the ground.
Magnus growled and faced toward the hovering dragon, wincing at the brilliant glare, yet conjuring up again some horrible spell nonetheless. He would never get it off though, because he was quickly engulfed in a torrent of burning light and flame. A psychic ward went up at the last second, a forcefield of warp energy, diverting and pushing against the oncoming fire, but the very substance of the ward was disintegrating as it met the dragon's breath, nullified by the opposite magics. Neither Ryu nor anyone could see behind the brilliant flames, but the painful wail surely indicated that Magnus was hurt.
The determined whelp form of Ryu maintained the pressure regardless, intent on completely burning the enemy to a crisp. The towering being under the blaze and smoke began to drop downward, crumbling as greenery and flowers began to sprout all around the area. The roar of the Red King went quiet.
About out of breath, and with a sense of satisfaction, Ryu was received a shocking surprise. Taking the form of a spear, Magnus' sorcery-empowered weapon burst through the fire-breath and impaled Ryu in the chest. Magnus got up, his body still burning, both hands on his weapon, running it forward into the dragon whelp mercilessly. Magnus' wings were alight with beautiful fire as he roared and subsequently flung Ryu directly into Luffy. Cute little white daisies and black ash fell off Magnus' darkened hair with the effort. "No more Mr. Nice Daemon!" He was unfortunately, not blind.
With terrifying speed, Magnus lunged specifically at Youmu, attempting to grab her by the neck with one hand. This was about as physical as he got when it came to combat, a switch that had obviously been unexpected.
Magnus grit his teeth angrily. He still wanted answers. The flames on his body had all died down at this point, and his unnatural skin was already healing over.
