Imagine making Magnus question his life choices every time it hits. xD

Lols. ok. I may do something like that.
@thewizardguy@VitaVitaAR

So it is definitely, indefinite.

We know by wrote that Hakurouken will cause pain to a soul and send a free ghost to heaven, and also that Magnus is devoid of his own soul. These things are facts.

These facts alone do not give us any further information on how the two would interact, ie. anything we decide from here is inference and assumption. So let's make our own conclusions.

First, I'll clarify what I know. Wiz might be able to help.

The 40K world is undoubtedly full of a lot of bullshit reasoning and completely made up physics and spirituality/afterlife/whatever. Daemon Magnus doesn't have a soul, so how then does he animate himself? Have free will? I have no idea. Clearly, he is something more than a ghost, and there certainly is no "heaven" in 40K, so being hit with Hakurounen won't send him anywhere. But what is he? "Warp stuff?" What is the warp? Well, that's also highly ambiguous. My impression is that it's simultaneously magic and mind, energy and soul, a parallel ever-changing universe hidden in a storm in space. Daemons and chaos gods and the lost spirits of the dead of every race in existence all inhabit it. The power for sorcery and magic come from it. The warp energy that makes up daemon Magnus is no more "soul" than it is simply pure magic essence. If anything within him constitutes "soul" it probably belongs to Tzeentch, which means Tzeentch probably felt Hakurounen hit him and now knows where Magnus is... Oh god what have I done?

In either case, Rokurounen already hurts him, which is more than any mortal could hope for, so you're good.
@MacDuffy Yeah more or less. Have fun with it.

"I am surrounded by morons." -Magnus the Red, 2017.

- Area 2 -

The response was about as expected, coming from a ragtag bunch of clueless animals that had no idea how to identify their enemy from a hole in the ground. Anything red with horns and magic was probably the cliche antithesis of whatever gods they were worshipping. Trying to reason with them was ultimately pointless. Magnus would just have to dispatch them and hope this world had more intelligent forms of life to offer.

The first to charge in was the little girl, blithely denying the existence of the Imperium ironically when one of its members was floating weightless in a bubble right in front of her. Her Angel Cut attack from the front was watched with only bland disinterest, the light energy deflecting off the daemon prince's armor with a chink sound, as predicted.

Magnus narrowed his single eye at her with a disapproving frown. However, being unfamiliar with these beings, he didn't anticipate the second attack from the phantom half of the girl who had jumped space to behind him. She slashed with two weapons at the back of his legs, which were in easier reach for her small stature. The first weapon, Hakurouken, as ususal, passed through the armor like it wasn't even there, but rather than cutting spirit, it found simply nothing, revealing that this Red King had no soul. The second blade, however, faired far better than any material weapon could ever hope to have achieved. Roukanken actually cut through the daemon primarch's armor.

It was a small cut, leaving a minor defect in the warp-magic infused material, but it drew blood on the other side, instantly alarming Magnus at the incredibly unexpected wound. He gasped in surprise, and as an immediate reaction, expelled a powerful wave of force from his being, violently throwing the girl a hundred meters away into the side of a building with a strength that would have killed most humans. Perhaps Ryu's shield would have saved her. Her ghost form however might not have been affected.

This unexpected blast would also hit Luffy and Ryu, pushing them back, throwing them, or knocking them prone, depending on their resistances to it. Luigi was of course protected inside Magnus' chaos sphere.

Magnus growled. Of course, his deamon form healed instantly, but a weakness had been exposed. He had been wrong to underestimate his opponents weapons once before, and he was quickly reminded of that. "Very well. I see you have chosen..." Promptly, he began casting, waving his free hand in the air before him while uttering a language none could decipher.

Luffy struck out his long black arm and found that he could not penetrate inside the chaos sphere with it, but he could loop his arm around it and grab it. Magnus inclined his head toward the very strange arm as it began to pull on Luigi's magical prison. He finished his cast and began a tug of war with his will to keep the orb against Luffy's strength.

As his cast finished, long eel-like ethereal, glowing arms or snakes sprouted out of the space around the sorcerer king's body. They writhed and snapped their jaws at anything daring to get near Magnus. He sent one of the warp-magic tentacles to attack Ryu and one to clamp its shocking jaws onto Luffy's long arm. Flying at Ryu, the thing snapped at him and writhed to encoil him and his weapon. The holy power of the sword seemed to fend the creature off, but it kept trying to snake around behind him for a bite.

Now terrified by what he perceived to be a mutant human attacking his chaos ball, Luigi initially appeared to be freaking out. Nonetheless, he calmed himself then took a random shot at Magnus. The weapon fired and the projectile did pass through the sphere, only to vanish out in the distance somewhere uselessly while leaving Luigi spinning randomly in a zero-g environment. Magnus sighed heavily at spinning, cursing, wild ball of Imperial chainsaw that was his interrogation subject. ... >>

While the snakes kept the several heroes busy, Magnus began his interrogation. Luigi's insane spinning abruptly stopped as he was halted mid-air perfectly upright. "Where is the Imperium, human! ... When did you arrive on this world, and with how many ships? Talk. Now. Or I will start killing people."
@NecroKnight Why don't you go find the Cannoness @Evil Snowman? I'd be up for reading more of her fanatical ire. Also, given the shit going down on Arexia Prime, you might want to go there and put down some rebels or something.
@NecroKnight

We all left the meeting area. A number of regular humans stayed back to have a meeting with Gregori. K'Vari has been inciting violence and unrest on both the Throne World and on the Forge Moon (but nobody knows it's him). My character is still waiting to speak with the Inquisitors.

Captain Lattore - The Wandering Chronos

"So, your arrival into present time was indeed centuries ago. Seeing as how generations have passed on your ship since then, the old Imperium must still seem like the ancient past to you as much as it does to me. That is unfortunate." Truly, Leal had longed for some faint vision of history through these men, and was disappointed to find none. The rogue addict behind him wasn't much for words, which was certainly for the best in Leal's opinion, and he said nothing to her.

Leal decided it was time to broach another subject as they waited for Alexius. "Perhaps, if you are not at liberty to discuss the studies of your ordo, you would be able to inform me of the state of security aboard The Wandering Chronos?" His sharp blue eyes fixed uncomfortably on Varius as he sipped his water. "Could the situation benefit from the presence of a few Astartes on board? The protection of Inquisitor Commenus and your ordo is a top priority."

@VitaVitaAR So that Hakurouken blade passes through armor, right? And is it Youmu that has Roukanken or her phantom half?

Magnus the Red - Area 2

Magnus was a horrific sight to behold. A towering devilish chimera of wings and horns and man. He had the bulging muscles of a beast, the clawed hands and feet of a dragon, and a fanged scowl. One blazing left eye glared down at Luigi as magic began to gather around him, stirred solely by the daemon prince's mere emotion. A spark flickered between his arm and his staff. Being this close to him caused a feeling of dread in any mortal creature, as if his very presence alone held some kind of infective, corrupting power. Staying too close for too long just might result in something terrible happening, something like losing one's mind.

Magnus glared down at the human with the chainsword in the mechanicus robes and at the white-haired girl that had jumped in front of him. She was telling Luigi to run, but the fool had refused, not that running would have saved him anyway. The girl looked small and pathetic. Yet Magnus was more offended by her ignorance, for no mere physical weapons could possibly threaten the daemon prince, a fact that should have been obvious. If she had any semblance of wisdom, she would have run herself. Initially, he gave her no thought, until he suddenly realized there was something different about her soul... she only had half of one.

Showing none of his undeniable intrigue in this, Magnus focused on more immediate matters. More enemies were gathering. A third human-type creature had appeared, jumping down from a rooftop, speaking his annoyance at the girl for having left him. Hmpf. Merely another hero, another casualty wasting themselves because of what they didn't understand. Then a fourth and final hero made his appearance, this one brandishing an energy that was the very antithesis of Magnus' current being. The light was irritating, burning, an echo of the holy power of order to which he had once belonged. That instantly identified Ryu as the biggest threat.

Luigi's speaking the name of Emperor caused Magnus' lip to curl, and he finally addressed the assembled heroes. "Mortal fools. Your ignorance and judgementality come as no surprise to me. You act on assumption when you do not truly know anything." The red sorcerer demon laughed softly. "You foolishly bring about your own undoing. Wallowing here in your stupidity offends me, yet I am a benevolent god, and thus I will warn you of your fate." He glared accusingly at Luigi as a sphere of chaos energy formed around him and began to lift him off the ground slowly. "Your true enemy lies unrecognized before you. The minions of The Corpse Emperor have come to claim this innocent and pristine world, to compel each and every one of you into submission, and to purge every being that dare defy or dare call upon magic in any form. They will fall upon this planet with fire and with their unstoppable armor-clad warriors. All of us, will die."

Magnus let his foreboding words linger, but he of course foresaw another outcome. If he had been at full power and had all his armies with him, he would have taken this planet himself and killed everyone that opposed him, but that wasn't going to be possible. In fact, Magnus wasn't certain of what his limits were now. He was fairly certain he wouldn't be able to repel an invasion of space marines alone, so his only option at this point was to prevent it.

"This one belongs to them. I am taking him for questioning, and your ignorant efforts will not stop me. "Magnus brought Luigi's floating, chainsawing form closer to himself to stare him down. "You, mortal. You know more than you should, and now that you've recognized me, I cannot allow you to live."

He turned back to the others, "I am the Red King! Join me, and I will help you to defend this world and your freedom. Refuse me, and I will be forced to destroy you." Lightning crackled up his glaive as he specifically locked onto Ryu, daring him to try something.
