Gray Cièl - 13...7 Hallway

Gray's breath was limited as she believed for whatever reason she had to hold her breath, she began walking towards the intersection as she couldn't see anything else in the hallway that would be of use to her. She slowly approached the bend before a tight pain in her chest made it clear that she would have to breath to continue onward. Regrettably she stood and took a deep breath, rapidly her chest rose and fall and the oxygen she breathed in carried with it a putrid smell that wafted over everything that she could smell, replacing any scent that may have accompanied the dusty hallway. She immediately covered her face and nose in an attempt to block out the smell. While it was faint as though it hadn't originated from around here, it was definitely putrid.

However, the smell was also a gift - for all she knew there was no toxins just a horrid smell. As such she immediately began calling out as she walked towards the murmurs to the north. Not too loud, but from what she could tell louder than anyone was speaking to the north. She knew that even approaching people in a place like this was incredibly risky. But she also knew that she was not going to escape this place alone, perhaps whoever had texted her had also kidnapped others. She attempted to carry that optimistic hope within her heart as she continued on down the hallway forward unto the unknown. Once she had walked to the point where the murmurs were louder and she could tell they were close she called out.

"Hello? Anyone?"
@Lugubrious I realize you may not know, shadowkiller is under the weather thus the in frequency of posts, just thought you should know for the defend a caravan mission.
@Lugubrious I know that I'm certainly not really the most involved or most well known person in the rp, but I do read just about everything everyone posts be it contests OOC or IC. It is my belief that this ship, while she ain't the fastest nor the prettiest has some damn nice character.

Seriously, I'm pretty sure 9/10 people are predominately content with how you and your myriad of co-gms (official or otherwise) are running this show and as such I commend you. Embrace the openness of this rp and truly learn to be excited about it, I know I'm incredibly grateful I was allowed back in because this rp is truly once in a life time.

That's what I think anyway. Seriously though I really enjoy being here with y'all, we make a good crew.

Gray Cièl – Room 13 – Outside Room 13

She picked up her many new affects in unabashed horror. She looked for something familiar, but nothing revealed itself to her. This room was new, the hammer though warn was new to her, the phone was not hers. She read the text message over, probably ten times one line in particular stood out, more than the other. Hold your breath. Without thinking, she did. Her fingers quickly flew across the keypad hammering out a reply.

‘Why?’

She could’ve been sweeter about it and she was going to follow the advice anyways, but she felt as though maybe if she knew she could figure something out. As for the toolbox she took note of what was there and stuffed the nails into her pocket, placed the hammer securely in a belt loop on her jeans and walked over to the door. She opened it preparing for the worst. She knew that holding her breath wouldn’t be something she could do for as long as she would like, however she knew that running wasn't a fair option either, it would make her feel the need to breathe in deeply, filling her lungs with... She couldn't bring herself to think about it. Upon exiting her room she would run along the hallway, ball up a fist and hit the side of the wall. Creating a noise she hoped would draw in the ‘unhappy woman’. In her other hand she desperately clutched the cell phone – which she prayed would receive a response.

Name:

Gray Cièl

Age:

24

Gender:

Female

Appearance:

Personality:

Most commonly motivated by a sense of urgency and money, commonly both: Gray is no stranger to striving for a sense of comfort, seeking a break
from the franticness of life. She is an only child who seemed to still require optimum effort to gain the attention of her parents and as such found herself acting out in a variety of ways. She was raised on the south side of Chicago, in Canaryville she fended for herself through most of her adolescent leading into adult years and by the time Gray had turned 16 she was alone.

While one may describe Gray as unpleasant, unhappy isn’t the right word to use on her. She is optimistic to a fault, always believing that every situation can be learned from and surprisingly forgiving. That being said, this is often not understood about Gray as her outer shell is that of a fast-talking crass Chicagoan thusly she is often considered exactly the opposite.

Backstory:

“Mrs. Cièl we’d like to take a minute to interview you, if that’s alright.” The familiar man said raising his mug to his chapped lips, sipping in the ebony concoction.

“Yeah, let’s just get it over with.”

“What was your relationship with the deceased?” The man furrowed his brow.

“Fuck you John.”

“Mrs. Cièl this is all being recorded, please this is just a formality.”

“They’re my parents, and stop calling me that.”

“How would you describe your relationship with them?” Cracked dry fingers tangled themselves together in front of Gray on the desk.

“I wouldn’t.”

“If you’re not going to cooper-”

“Any relationship we had they ended when I was sixteen.”

“Very well.” Dot jots were scribbled onto a blank piece of doctor’s paper, Gray analyzed the man’s finger, a band that had been worn was removed, the lines from its imprint still red and swollen.

“What is your place of residence Mrs. Cièl?”

“I’m around.”

“Are you homeless?”

“I have a home, I just don’t go.”

“As you say Mrs. Cièl.” The man clicked his pen, in and out fumbling with its clip.

“That it?”

“Not quite. What can you tell me about your primary occupation?”

“You arresting me John?”

“Please. Cooperate.” The man said his frustration growing clearly stronger.

“I’m a private eye, okay? I don’t do murders or any serious shit, I prefer to keep out of that sort of thing.”

“How did a girl with no parents get started as a ‘private eye’?

“It started off as work for friends, I was always hanging out in low places, so it was easier for me to scoop the dirt out of their lives. Word of mouth passed me on until I started realizing I could charge a premium for this kind of thing.”

“On average how many customers do you have a month?”

“Two, maybe three.”

“And how long have you been a ‘business’ for?

“Only two years.”

“Just one last question.”

“I just want to leave.”

“Gray. Where were you?” The man’s sharp blue eyes attempted to penetrate her own, see her thoughts.

“Fuck you Johnny, I didn’t kill my parents.”

“Mrs. Ciel-“

“I’m sorry about your wife.” And she left the room, took a cab home, and fell asleep.

Talents:

Pros

Freelance:
Has done freelance work as a private detective, mostly investigating an unstable relationship, collecting photo-evidence and whatnot. While she does have some detecting abilities -- her abilities do not translate to forensic supremacy by any means.

Self-Defense:
She has some basic self-defense training as well as sometimes clients are less than satisfactory when they find out a partner has been cheating on them.

Charmer:
Gray can have an intoxicating personality, often resorting to her charms in order to win a situation over in her favor.

Cons

Alcoholic:
As the title unfortunately reads Gray consumes alcohol at an unhealthy pace and as such finds herself intoxicated more nights than not. While she is not a fully consumed alcoholic by any means, she does crave the nectar.

Unrefined:
Never one to flutter on the more expensive side of life, Gray tends to be uncultured, unrefined and typically pretty crass.

Other: Bi af.
