@WrongEndoftheRainbow Seriously? Is the wheel off limit? Considering Carpentry has been around for a long while I was already considering it a Free Action research. That is surprise.

Hey, Ilunabar is going to work on taxonomy of plants soon, along with Piena and Meimu. Want to get get into it? Maybe make it a collab.

Oh, shit, didn't realize you were asking me. Lazarus would love to get involved with that. Another collab to add to the list.
@Frettzo Can you add Loki to the convo as well?
@WrongEndoftheRainbow, you said you were developing an Order of Knowledge and Magic, right? Well, there's a Magic Goddess who might be recruitable lately!

Wanna collab? I gotta do a collab with Rtron when he gets back on, and I also need to ask Leo for another collab, but hell, im writer. Lazarus is a busy guy.

Ditto.

I'm not adverse to technological advancement, I just adjust myself to the pace of the RP - but I also think we shouldn't play it like Civ V; this is a creative writing as a collaboration, not a video game. However, I won't stop anyone.

I've got a lot of creative ideas that I want to put into motion, but it's just very hard to do when I'm locked down in a stone age. There's a lot of storyline potential in advancing into something where we at least have written communication.
Hell, if you do make a second planet, I'll make a map for it too.

*shrug

Just find a creative way to do it, or a creative alternative, and I'd say the latter would be easier on ya.

Hover wagons. Constant curse of force on the bottom, holding up the wagon. Plus it'll be easier to pull around than wheeled wagons! Another thing to add to the five course dinner of "Things Lazarus Needs To Do"

I mean, that's also a very tunnel visioned way of thinking - one thing I always encourage is sideways thinking when approaching tech in Galbar. I'm already developing weird stuff that makes Alefpria move.

While I'd love to at least give them a few basic technologies like wheels, the crafting gods have claimed dominion over that tech. That's why I'm advancing the arcane arts and organizing and standardizing divinity.

And that is why gods spend Freepoints and might to "inspire" mortals.

I mean, you just can't escape godly influence in Galbar, Ilunabar is at the dreams, Teknall has his chipers, stuff like The Phantasmagoria, where a god just sends waves of inspiration across the land, happens multiple times.

To be more specific, when we were talking about technology, and I said I could probably spend a few might to give mortals the secret to wheels, I was told

"@LokiLeo789, no Bronze Age or wheels until @Muttonhawk, @Hygswitch and myself say so. They created demigods specifically for that purpose. You can wait. Be patient."

Bronze age I get. Wheels, didn't make me the happiest guy. A demigod of knowledge not allowed to grasp a fairly simple concept of "No sharp edges means you can roll it"

I have a few roleplaying books, including GURPS Ice Age. In it, there is a whole section about limiting with players being too crafty, since having a character inventing stuff is expected, but if it goes unleashed soon the whole thing becomes an uncanny mess far too advanced while far too primitive where Kronk the Stoneman somehow invents Pottery, Ropes, The Wheel, Fire, Farming and Animal Husbandry in a week or less.

Everyone here agrees that Mortals should be able to do stuff. But there is a limit.
Xerxes is basically inventing something new at every post, skipping all sorts of minor techs that would be necessary. Take that with the fact there are at least two or three Xerxes posts a day, and you have something crazy going on.

My trader character from back in the Phantasmagoria was a teenager at the time, now she is probably 30 something. Yet, she was born in a world that barely knew stuff like pottery and if things keep going on like that, by the time she is in her 60s there will be freaking airplanes. That makes no sense.

Also, Wrongend, you are completely misguided when you say:

<Snipped quote>

My Phantasmagoria post goes completely against everything you said. It's all about advancing tech using mortals. The thing is, it still cost me freepoints, even when I had a Diva of Flowers and Herbs teaching mortals about Herbalism, that is the rule of the game.

I want to have the mortals do it themselves, but we aren't at the stage where we can do that without it taking centuries. We aren't at the point where I can set up educational institutions and start pushing them to doing it on their own in a manner that doesn't take horrific amounts of time.

EDIT: Also, Xerxes stuff isn't my thing. In three or four posts all I've done is drugged up my demigod. He's not really going to be skipping any experiments.

I understand were your comming from, but your forgeting that gods are only as current as thier creations. Especially us demigods. We serve to move our universe along, but soon thry won't need our help, and are existence may hang on whether or not they belive in us. You gotta live in the moment in this RP, create story lines. Thats what I'm doing, and thats what we all are doing. Gods meddling, avatars fighting, demigods building. Why don't you help create magic, Sin could use an arcane art sect. Sounds badass actually. THE ARCANE KNIGHTS. We can also think of a device that can keep gods out. Actually have a good idea of how it can work.

An order of psychics was already on my plate of "Things Lazarus Needs To Do", just the only problem is you have trouble gathering together 1000 people throughout the massive amount of land worshiping you, so where am I going to scrape together enough people to have a proper order of psychics that can affect anything?
