So...I was looking through the characters and the rest of the thread to see if i missed something and I saw something I thought i needed to comment on extensively for the GM and everyone else's benefit. I know I'm just a player and just now showed interest/put up a CS, but I hope these points will be read and considered. Otherwise things in the RP's IC could get really...out of hand really fast...and not in the good way either. Not saying all the points are correct, just making observations from the information presented.

Kuroi Kamen said Each of these bolts are sealed to allow no passage of chakra into them, but to allow chakra out, and are surprisingly difficult to cut through (they resist most swords easily). In addition to this aspect of the veil, it is also a mask that covers Ra’s ears, mouth, nose and eyes. This mask is covered in seals that filter out any harmful substances that would enter Ra’s body, in addition to dampening any particularly loud sounds or sounds designed to have an adverse effect on the body.

So it filters pretty much anything harmful to her in the entire area of her head, more or less. She can't be poisoned, drowned, influenced by sound-based genjutsu, deafened, blinded, etc etc. Anything that you decide is harmful is filtered by the seals on the fabric. She can even potentially block swords (and likely other weapons) with it, even though it's simple cloth (inscribed with fuuinjutsu of course). I bet the momentum/inertia in those weapons or blows is also nullified by the seals because it's "harmful."

Tōsei no Eien; Tenchi Gensō said Some techniques, such as genjutsu, can be forced upon victims if they are simply in range of the aura.

So wait, let me get this straight. The aura allows the user to activate their jutsu anywhere within it/from any point of it the user chooses? That would include jutsu utilzied through the Chigoku Inkan I presume, which means if you're standing within 20 ft of Ra, you can suddenly be on fair, or be paralyzed, or...just be dead. I mean, she's a kage level ninja, she likely has an amount of chakra capable of fueling a seal that is marked "death," not to mention a seal that has a more specific/elaborate method of execution, pun intended.

In addition to that, you can force people into genjutsu if they're merely within range. That's devious and kinda...broken tbh.

However, it's made worse by this methinks:

Tenchi Gensō said Through the Tenchi Gensō, the user is easily able to lull people into genjutsu as long as they are within the chakra aura, and minor [B-Ranked or less] genjutsu can be forced onto an opponent simply by pointing at them.

B ranked techniques are jounin level, more or less, meaning genjutsu utilized by the typical jounin (who are...kinda elite) can simply be handwaved upon someone as long as they're within 20 ft. Idk what's worse, the fact that this sentence exists, or the fact that it was blindly accepted :/

地 said The true strengths of the technique lie in its subtle abilities to manipulate illusions, as well as blur the boundary in the mind that separates illusion from reality.

It goes on to explain that the Chi (earth) aspect more or less makes the user's genjutsu more believable. They aren't infallible, just harder to notice and thus break. This is compounded on the fact that Ra can handwave people into B rank or lower genjutsu techniques.

Yeah, let that sink in.

天 said With Ten, two things happen: Ra transcends the traditional plane in terms of genjutsu, and can no longer become subject to any genjutsu bar her own under any circumstances.

If you're confused, this means that the Ten(Heaven) aspect makes Ra completely immune to all genjutsu except her own, not to mention that her veil pretty much does that already. She had redundant defenses against genjutsu. She can also influence the genjutsu of other people making it possible for her to hijack other people's genjutsu. Oh yeah, and if you read the first part of her Kekkei genkai, this means that she could potentially hijack the chakra of these genjutsu as well and repurpose it either with her immense chakra control and/or her second Kekkei genkai, the Chigoku Inkan. Oh yeah, this also means that any genjutsu someone tries to cast on her not only will not effect her, but she can (and probably will) gain control of it.

However, this aura comes at a steep cost: As the Kekkei Genkai manifests and the user gains their unique version, they are locked into that "version"'s jutsu style and become unable to utilise their chakra for anything outside of it. Ra's Tenchi Gensō has locked her in to the fields of Genjutsu and Fuuinjutsu, and she is unable to use her chakra for any purpose outside of this bloodline, genjutsu or fuuinjutsu.

This really isn't much of a weakness/cost considering all of the things that her two kekkei genkai can do (not to mention her taijutsu, which seems to just hide in the background as an irrelevant detail somehow...).

Chigoku Inkan said However, the power of the kanji is only as powerful as the chakra used to create it and the meaning of the word E.G. - Using the word ‘Fire’ is a dilute meaning as it can encompass anything - however, Inferno, Scorch, Blaze, et cetera are more specific and can produce more powerful effects, but do cost more chakra. The longer the word, or even a chain of words is/are, the more influence the user has but they cost more chakra to use. Some kanji, such as “invincible”, are not feasible simply because the user does not have enough chakra in their body to create such an effect. While the technique is versatile, it is not overly powerful.

I'm pretty sure I already went over this, but while this does limit it a bit, it only limits the intensity somewhat. Plus, if the kanji are arranged properly specific effects might not cost more chakra, same goes for powerful ones. It's all about how the jutsu are created, which is why this Kekkei genkai is just as bad as the first one in terms of brokenness.

Chigoku Inkan Weakness said The seals are constructs of pure chakra, brought into existence by the force of will of the user. In order to exert their effect upon an opponent, the Kanji must touch them. This can be done within half a foot of the user, or the Kanji can be launched at an opponent. As constructs of chakra, the seals are easily overpowered by a burst of foreign chakra. As the power of the seal is derived from its purity of shape, a well-controlled burst of chakra will split its form and break its power, rendering it useless. In addition, the user may not create kanji for elemental techniques of a chakra nature that they do not possess. The Chigoku Inkan does not, in of itself [I.e. there is not a technique in the jutsu section that says otherwise] possess the ability to infract upon the laws of the realm it is used in: I.e., it cannot defy physics. It cannot make you invincible. It cannot create black holes.

Yeah, but Ra also has her other Kekkei genkai. Idk if this is the case, but that Kekkei genkai states that the user can activate jutsu at any point within the aura. So I figure that'd apply to this as well, right? If so, that's...terrifying, and no fun for anyone fighting this character.[/hider]

Saimin Suimin said The Saimin Suimin is a very useful genjutsu that works by separating an opponent from their motor controls and rendering them unconscious. The technique is resistible as it works via an ‘addiction’ method of induction - looking at the chakra which Saimin Suimin stems from leaves the image of a swinging golden pendant that leaves a delicate golden trail - the more you look at it, the more you want to look at it, and if you stare for long enough [7-8 seconds is enough for A ranked nin if Ra uses a moderate amount of Chakra] then you are placed under the genjutsu’s effect.

Of a "moderate amount of chakra" makes the technique A rank, that's okay to some degree, but that means anything and anyone below that could be handwaved into falling unconscious/losing control of their motor abilities. Is it apparent why the whole aura thing is a problem yet?

Also, considering how skilled Ra is stated to be in terms of manipulating people, chakra, not to mention her potent use of yin/genjutsu the weakness of this technique is subverted completely.

No real problem with the technique, it's the handwave part that is the problem.

Kui-Hikari said Creates an endless flash of light that normal vision will struggle to see through, and can disorient mentally weaker people.

Zenkei Ome Itetsuku said Much like the normal Ome Itetsuku, however, the Zenkei Ome Itetsuku causes the entire landscape around a user to be frozen in place rather than the sole image they were concentrating on at the time.

No real problem with the technique, it's the handwave part that is the problem. Aka, everything around them appears as if frozen in time even though they can move, the world appears unchanged.

Satsuriku said Satsuriku induces a killing frenzy unto the enemy, and removes inhibitions/cautions that would otherwise keep a person from doing anything brash. The genjutsu itself depends on the victim, but generally shows the death of everyone dear to the victim at the hands of the caster.

This makes the effect the genjutsu more realistic and thus possible. Thus it is less likely to be spotted as a genjutsu on top of the fact that Ra's genjutsu are naturally harder to spot as genjutsu. Oh yeah, and it can be handwaved.

Gensoku Jikan said The Gensoku Jikan is a peculiar genjutsu allowing Ra to control an opponent’s sense of time.

While the concept is awesome, this is OP even without the possibility of handwaving. Reason being if someone is slashing at you, or if you're running towards a cliff and your sense of time is incorrect, you'll get the timing wrong and shit will go south real quick....

Genmetsu no Geijutsu said This peculiar Genjutsu allows the user to “disillusion” shapes the victim sees - causing one shape to appear to be another.

I feel like I should have other problems with this, but I can't think of what they'd be. Regardless, it can be handwaved.

Tsurara Suimin said Forces an opponent to believe that they are sleeping, and that they wake up suddenly only to be impaled by an array of icicles.

It can cause a heart attack in the victim due to shock. Aka, it's a genjutsu that can kill you...as a potential side effect. Did I mention the handwave?

Shosai no Kogeru said This genjutsu, simply enough, allows the user to erase memories separately from the, so long as they know the memory they are to erase.

Discount Sharingan: Genjutsu. What if the user erased the memory associated with the moment someone was born and learned to breath? It can be handwaved.

Sakuran said This genjutsu is specialised to break through even the strongest of resistances over time, and Ra will often leave people with it for days without food to break their minds.

The whispers are tuned to the victim, and are always relevant to horrible things that have happened to them in the past. The whispers pick at the flaws of the victim, and due to the nature of the genjutsu, are always very relevant and very effective.

How are they always relevant? How does Ra have the knowledge to cause that. A genjutsu isn't sentient, it can't adapt without the user doing so manually. Making a genjutsu, or any other jutsu, that adapts according to who it is used on automatically is straight up OP. It'd have a pretty much 100% chance of succeeding...AND IT CAN BE HANDWAVED.

Rei Yakedo said Rei Yakedo is a very powerful genjutsu when used correctly - It forces the sensation of the opponent’s entire chakra and chakra system being burned into their mind.

No real problems though that's some crazy shit haha.

Gōmon Weakness said Can be resisted if the victim is particularly strong-willed, but not while Saimin Suimin is active.

The use of just that other genjutsu ontop of this means it cannot be resisted. Additionally, the jutsu itself is not very specific in how it tortures the mind or body, just that it does so...somehow.

Kyōzō said A second ability of the Kyōzō exists that does not require touch, and is a simple illusion that causes any pain/damage the user would take to appear have been taken by the enemy instead. Upon use of the illusion there is no cue and the victim cannot sense they are in illusion without a specific ability to do so. While under the Kyōzō, the victim cannot move or process thoughts outside of the illusion and any attack they believe they inflict within the illusion do not actually happen.

Self explanatory.

Keikan Weakness said The user is able to, with their own volition, remove the crown and end the genjutsu at any time.

Except it's incredibly unlikely that anyone would ever realize they were in the genjutsu due to Ra's aforementioned capabilities.

Setsuri no Hametsu said Additionally, Ra is also able to force the target’s body to move according to the plan while the genjutsu is in place should she desire.

Sounds like an excuse to powerplay/puppet someone's character.

Zensekai Gensō said The illusion is completely infallible, and no doujutsu or illusion removal technique can pierce it while the victim is within the boundaries of the Tenkan no Inkan.

Weakness: Devastating chakra loss; bound to a very specific area.

It's totally unavoidable and inescapable and its weakness is untrue due to the fact that the Tenkan no Inkan are placed by the user. As a note, I don't see that jutsu or item anywhere on the CS. What is this "Tenkan no Inkan," exactly?

Eien no Inkan said The Eien no Inkan allows the user complete control over their 5 senses.

She could even make her senses stronger, with no ill effects to herself due to her veil and the modifiable nature of this technique. Oh yeah, and it's a third defense against genjutsu.

Shiketsutai no Inkan said A powerful and unique seal that prevents all passage of chakra across its boundary.

Weakness: The seal will only last for ten minutes unless placed on the body, where it will last for up to 48 hours.

For some reason it lasts twice as long as is necessary to kill the person it is placed on not to mention it is capable of blocking all types of jutsu, including taijutsu. It makes Ra even more untouchable than she already was.

Jiryoku no Fū said When she focuses her chakra into it, it glows with a faint blue colour and the next object Ra touches with her left hand will be attracted to the seal on her palm.

Not a problem on its own, but due to the fact that Ra is skilled at taijutsu, this means she can create a pull of unknown strength towards her once the seal is on you. Oh yeah and once you're within 20 ft she can handwave you into any of her genjutsu that are B rank and below. Or she can pull you into the "Tenkan no Inkan," and activate Zensekai Gensō. The seal is also attracted to the Sekiryoku no Fū in addition to the seal on her left hand. Aka, with both seals on you, she can double the pull or push of either technique. She can also attract or repel attacks to her.

No...real problems I suppose.

Chigoku Inkan: Kami no Sakura said A simple seal that stores another completed jutsu inside it.

Allows her to store ninjutsu or other techniques she has captured via many different means, I imagine. She could even use her repel or attract seals to get the ninjutsu, IN BATTLE. Oh yeah, and she could use things like Idōsō no Fū immediately if she stored it in one of these.

Kyōsei Keiyaku Kuchiyose no Jutsu said Thusly, if the user acquires the blood of a victim they may summon the victim to them or they may reverse-summon themselves to the victim. This costs no more than a normal summoning jutsu and can be used anywhere, at any time.

No. Why? Because it allows the user to do so much that's it's totally unreasonable to say yes. They can be handwaved into genjutsu, hit by a touch-based fuuinjutsu, etc etc.

Saiketsu Fū said A simple seal that is connected to the user’s bloodstream.

Takes away the time that is used to break the skin for summoning. No real problem with that, but I thought I'd mention it.

-Consider the fact that the Zensekai Gensō allows Ra to put someone into any of her genjutsu no matter their rank onto someone as long as they're in its area of effect, which is vague, adjustable, and inescapable once you're in it.[/hider]

Chakra Nature: Lightning, Fire, and Wind.

Personality: While she is indeed a rebellious girl, Iyana has learned to stifle her temper ever since it nearly got her killed during the invasion and hostile take over of her home, Kumogakure. As such she tends to wear a cool mask, her features telling little of the raging inferno within, one that wishes to recklessly burn the shackles of order and release her and those around her to freedom once more. As such she appears as a fierce girl with a harsh gaze and generally unforgiving manner. Thus far she seems only to bow her head in the face of great danger, or those who she is forced to acknowledge as her betters. Still below all this she is a girl with a cool, but reckless, temperament. Possessing a natural slyness about her, Iyana tends to have no problem saying exactly what's on her mind no matter if it is rude or completely insulting, unless of course doing so would threaten her life, though that hasn't always stopped her.

Holding a blunt mentality and a rather straight to the point approach to most situations, Iyana is a tomboy, disliking girly things for the most part and pretty much refusing to partake in that manner of activity. A bit of a tsundere, Iyana will begrudgingly accept compliments or attempt to brush them off, while secretly enjoying them despite herself. Regardless, she generally dislikes most things that the other girls enjoy, like flowers, dresses, and looking cute. Boys on the other hand do interest her, though she has a tendency to either ignore them, or look down on them as the less elegant of the sexes. As such she has ended up an outcast among her peers for the most part.

Whereas most would say Iyana was fairly smart before the Empire's takeover, they tend to say she's more than just clever ever since. With her being unable to display many of her more reckless traits due to the likelihood of her being reprimanded, or worse, she has developed much less blunt methods. As before she often entertains herself with long trains of thought, allowing herself to consider a myriad of possibilities and situations. Thinking herself more mature than her peers despite her stubborn, unyielding nature, she will offer her help to those she logically deems weaker, or dumber, than herself. Beyond this though, she will stay out of people's business unless someone explicitly asks her for help or she is directly confronted at which point she may decline anyways. Additionally it should be noted that, while she does have a reckless nature, she is in fact not short tempered, preferring to keep her anger under control unless of course certain anger triggers are hit. When such does occur, the girl tends to go cold with rage allowing her to retain her logic, but still easily express her hatred and anger towards the one who dared to stir her temper from its slumber.

Still, below her tough exterior is, at the very least, a girl who has been hurt. She doesn't trust easily, but when she does you've got yourself a friend of undying loyalty...as long as you never break that trust that is.

History: Born to a loving family, Iyana was happy throughout the early years of her childhood till, at the tender age of eight her mother died while out on a mission. Withdrawing into herself from the grief, Iyana at first became a quiet girl and then, after being bullied at school and taking a dislike to her father, who was on the mission and thus took the blame from his daughter, she developed a rather rude, almost bullying personality. Gradually she came to dislike the other girls and their luck, their femininity, even trying to hide her own body as she gradually bloomed.

The academy didn't present much of a challenge to her, in fact it was an annoyance as she was forced to deal with the petty children day in and day out. She was pretty happy, or as happy as she really got, when she graduated and got her own team. At least then she would only have to deal with them. Then, training for the last few years, she managed to get skilled enough to create her own style of combat. Proud of her and her teammates their sensei decided to enter them in the chuunin exams two years ago. Except, Iyana refused to enter, considering the majority of the contestants were 'below her' in both maturity and ability. While her sensei didn't disagree, he couldn't exactly say such so he simply lectured her, which she pretty much ignored, and sent her off to train. Ironically that had been her goal to begin with. Ever since then she has trained and done the missions as necessary, though she never really liked them. It was only the next time that the chuunin exams were held that she finally decided to participate, deeming that she might as well get it over with so she could move on with her life.

Nonetheless, she was rather annoyed throughout and while she found the tasks themselves challenging, the contestants were still lacking. Granted, it was unfair since she had trained harder and longer than most of them anyways. Because of this her arrogance was carried with her throughout and she did not know when to temper it till the war struck her head on.

Thrown into contact mere months after becoming a chuunin, Iyana was unprepared as Kumogakure was stormed by the mysterious Empire and swiftly taken over. She was laid low, but managed to survive intact...for the most part. She did lose something, and while her body was largely unharmed, her pride took a hit and she has been a bit less...open in her rebellion ever since. Still, beneath her false obedience is a fire that builds ever stronger, threatening to burn her away.

The war, and the empire's control which has been wrested upon her hasn't effected her too much thus far.As such she has naively stayed with the empire. Who knows if it will last though, especially considering her temperament. With news of the rebellion trickling in, she is not likely to stay in the empire's sway for long, but who knows...maybe they'll cull her yet.

Description:
Two chakra conductive, japanese short swords, their blades are roughly 1.5 feet in length, with their total length being roughly two feet.

Chisoku gyōretsu(遅速行列Velocity matrix).

Description:
A particularly special katana given to her by her deceased mother, Chisoku gyōretsu has an intricate seal etched onto its form. This seal, in tangent with the chakra conductive metal that it was forged from, creates a figurative space within the blade where there is none in the physical sense. This sealed space can be accessed only by Iyana and the blade's creator. This space is formatted by the seal itself, causing any chakra conducted through the blade, regardless of elemental affinity, to be sped up or slowed down a particular amount depending on the will of the user. This will, by default, cause the blade to become sharper as it acts much like a high frequency blade, making it able to cut through even metal should enough chakra be conducted through it, or utilized properly by a skilled user. This blade does have a sheath, but it is actually sealed on the inner facing portion of Iyana's left forearm.

There is a seal placed on her right hand that corresponds with it, allowing the girl to draw the blade fully out with sheath attached, or to quick draw and unsheath the blade directly from the seal to go straight into an attack. With practice, Iyana has learned to unsheath the blade whilst within the seal and then draw it out immediately. The blade is made to be especially durable so as to withstand extreme amounts of pressure. This is so that it can properly withstand the rapidly moving chakra that it is made to contain. There is a secondary set of seals placed on both the blade and Iyana's left hand. She is currently unaware of what the properties of these seals. There is some kind of mechanism on the grip of the blade, but she is unable to activate it at current time.

Description: Coating her entire body with a cloak of chakra, Iyana can utilize her incredible level of chakra control to further manipulate the chakra in the cloak, which is actually around two times the amount necessary to coat her body, allowing her to extend various portions of it or even form extra limbs, similar to the cloak of a jinchuuriki, though she has never seen such a thing. This cloak of chakra is conductive of other chakra, allowing her to channel elemental affinities into it to add additional effects. When lightning affinity chakra, her's or otherwise (at or below the rank of the technique) is channeled through the cloak it amplifies the cutting ability of her body as well as her natural reaction time and physical speed. At D rank the increase in speed is minor. At C rank her reaction time is multiplied by 2, whereas her speed is increased from enhanced running to being able to zip back and forth at speeds just short of vanishing from sight, this is the point that the technique becomes strenuous. At B rank the cloak can shock those it comes into contact with, stunning them for up to 4 seconds, The user's speed is goes to twice that of their base speed, allowing them to, at max, disappear for several moments and cover anywhere between 1 foot and 8 meters at a time.

When fire affinity chakra is channeled through the cloak she gains a resistance to fire-based techniques (and heat in general). Additionally, wind affinity techniques will only increase the potency of the cloak. Lastly, the cloak will become inflamed, the heat depending on the rank of the technique. At D rank the heat is enough to be uncomfortable to those who come near it, and enough to cause pain upon contact, though not very much. At C rank this technique will cause burning pain within 2 feet of the cloak and direct exposure will cause first degree burns after 1-3 seconds. Being immersed in the cloak for any amount of time will cause slightly greater damage. At B rank the cloak will cause the D rank effects 4 feet away, the C rank effects 2 feet away and direct contact will cause severe scalding of any flesh in contact with the cloak. Additionally, the cloak

Prolonged contact increases the damaging, or other effects of the cloak regardless of affinity. Beyond this, the cloak itself can be used for other purposes, making it a highly useful and adaptive technique.

Weakness: Variable depending on the element and the particular use however, generally In'ei kabaa has a weakness to physical piercing attacks. At C rank the technique becomes strenuous, and at B rank it becomes difficult to maintain over long durations of time. The initial manifestation of In'ei Kabaa is typically D rank, but this can be modified by the user. The initial manifestation at D rank can usually last for the length of an average battle. At B rank the technique (at Iyana's current level) can only last for 1/4th of a battle, making it capable of lasting anywhere between 5 and eight minutes.

Description: A multifarious technique, Zōkyō allows Iyana to either form portions of In'ei kabaa on her body to attack or defend with. Additionally, Zōkyō can also be used to focus her chakra in different areas of her body, thus allowing her to either strengthen their durability or attack power. Lastly this technique can be utilized in the bodies of others or even weapons to augment them in some way. However, when used on others it is temporary or she can even cause painful sensations to occur due to the fact that reversing and messing with the chakra flow and distribution of the enemy can cause physical results such as weakening the physical integrity of their bodies. This applies to objects as well.

Weakness: Requires contact and can only be active for increments of two minutes.

Description: By either creating a chakratic construct, utilizing one of the aforementioned techniques, or a chakra conductive weapon Iyana is capable of mimicking the effects of Chisoku gyōretsu's internal abilities. This is of course less effective than the actual katana, but does have the potential to become something much greater. For the moment Iyana is capable of creating fairly fast rotating disks and throwing them as deadly cutting implements. At B rank the technique's efficiency is increased making it less difficult to maintain. but still taking the same amount of chakra as before.

Weakness: Takes a lot of focus to maintain and typically a lot of chakra as well despite her focus on control of such.

Name of Technique: Dōki junkan(同期循環 'Synchronous Circulation').
Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu.

Description: Through the utilization of Chisoku gyōretsu's unique ability and the technique Tojita kaiten, Iyana links the two techniques, forming an elongated ovular chakratic construct which surrounds the blade. This construct is directly linked to any chakra that is being conducted through Chisoku gyōretsu and the speed at which it revolves is determined by the speed of the chakra within the blade. This construct can be released from the blade through a thrusting or slashing motion. The former action will cause the construct to compress on itself forming a dense, and thin blade of chakra which will be flung from the blade at high speed. This continues for 10 meters or until it hits something, at which point the construct will either dissipate or form a deep gash in whatever material it comes into contact with the length of which is equal to the blade's and the depth of which tends to be 1-8 inches depending on the material. The latter action will cause the construct to sharpen around the tip of the blade and then thrust forwards, undulating throughout until it passes 10 meters or hits something. Upon contact with something the construct's chakra will become trapped in the tip, vibrating and circulating in that spot and almost drilling through whatever material it hits.

The last effect of the outer construct being thrown off is the temporary externalization of the internal chakra, causing a burst to thrust outwards from the blade's edge for roughly 10 seconds before it is pulled back into the blade. This temporary externalization more or less creates an extended and invisible edge to the blade, making it able to cut, but only in a slashing motion, 4 inches in front of itself.

Weakness: Dodge it. Additionally, the jutsu requires focus and while it can be augmented with an elemental affinity, Iyana is not yet skilled enough to do so.

Description: Through programming the chakra of In'ei kabaa, Iyana increases its solidity. This allows the chakra to be treated the same as a solid substance by objects and the like in her environment. This technique also allows her to make her chakra cloak static as she pleases. While certain amounts of force applied to it can still cause its shape to shift, this would mean anyone inside it other than Iyana herself would be more or less unable to move. This also allows her to create more effective cutting implements with the chakra.

Weakness: Certain amounts of force depending on the situation.

His observation, as it always had, paid off quite nicely for moments before movement the man's muscles tensed, before releasing. Energy was transferred and Arkaeis' orb began expanding at roughly the same speed that James began moving, and just a millisecond beforehand. The man's trajectory, not to mention the shifting positions of his bodily movements, were followed, noted and adapted to at tremendous speeds.

Thus, the moment James' proximity to the antenna belied an obvious result, Arkaeis needed only to predict and adjust accordingly. The man had, prior, glanced at the orb in his hand, and had briefly reacted as if he'd have to defend against an attack, one that had not come. The man had not made any effort, or shown any sign, that he intended on killing him, and Arkaeis was noting the position of his body as he readied himself to throw the antenna. To him it was all rather telegraphed, even if only minimally so.

Thus, the moment that James' body was in position to throw, the sphere coated Arkaeis' hand and forearm in layers of repelling voidal energy, obviously charged negatively. It had manifested in this polarity and liquid state, so there was no need to alter it immediately. He waited till the makeshift spear had traveled approximately 1/4th of the distance it was meant to till he turned his body sideways, his right arm still shrouded in void. Due to the speed of the antenna it would reach just before where his shoulder would've been moments before just as his hand slid into position, allowing the metal pole to slide right through his fingers. The void's repulsion would move opposite to the direction that the antenna was moving, slowing it greatly till Arkaeis' hand made direct contact with it, stopping it in its tracks even as the polarity reversed, becoming attractive.

Thus the antenna was stopped dead with Arkaeis' hand directly in the middle of its length, the attack neutralized completely. Tilting his head slightly, Arkaeis' smile dipped somewhat, his expression becoming a modicum more serious as he considered how to proceed. "That was not intended to be a killing blow," he stated bluntly, as if to make it just slightly more apparent how far he was capable to read into people's actions and reactions. "I think you greatly underestimate my ability to prepare for a myriad of possibilities, now, if you intend to impede me further, then I must inquire upon you name. Of course, to be polite I will tell you mine first." He made no movement beyond what he had done to stop the antenna, with the exception being that he appeared to relax slightly, not that he had been all that tense throughout. "I am Arkaeis, and you?" Should James make another move, Arkaeis would react as needed, but for the moment he would observe.

Because allowing your whirlwind to continue then your char suddenly not doing anything is even weirder, it's easier to assume that it didn't happen at all. In response to the man's words, Arkaeis smiled and then shook his head, eyes closing for but a moment before opening once more, though the action impeded his sight not at all. "The other spheres are of little consequence, and I have no intention of removing them until I have attracted the attention of those who have disrupted the balance." Raising his right hand and letting his feet touch the surface of a building, Arkaeis manifested another of the orbs. "The citizens are in little danger, it is this people's hierarchy that should worry," he stated with the same smile, though a dark shine briefly passed over his pitch black, colorless eyes. He noted the man's posture and general demeanor. He seemed on edge, though that was hardly surprising, and as such Arkaeis did little other with the sphere which floated above his palm 'cept allow its form to shift and flow roughly in place. He would stay like this till otherwise necessary, likely depending on if the man decided to be hostile, which it appeared he would rather soon.

Alphakoka. I have a note for you. Raelis didn't just spring into the air. He used his wings to propel himself up AND backwards quite quickly. The post even states that he is out of range and his incline into the air would be less drastic. It's more horizontal than it is vertical, that is for sure. AFter that he flies higher into the air and then above Snarnorgul, making it exceedingly difficult for him to hit with the acid cone.

Then there is the heat on his armor, which was acting as a secondary defense.

It's rather unlikely that the cone would do much just because Snarnorgul altered his aim slightly. Mostly because of the distance between them.

So yeah, that.

Just to clarify, I had assumed Arky would be speaking Ryllan, since he thought he was addressing one of their representatives and you mentioned earlier that he'd learned their language. That's why I had James be unable to understand him. I just thought I'd throw that out there since James actually does understand Japanese. He's from WWII, a big fan of the know thy enemy philosophy, and after he was reborn his learning capacity went through the roof. So he also knows German, French, and Russian (he likes knowing his allies too).
