Bleach: Endless Abyss (Open)

So I'm curious, does anyone have a particular way/method that they use when they create Bleach characters in comparison to other characters?

For example, I personally like to figure out the core "themes" of my character first. From these themes I decide what the personality/history is or what the Zanpakuto's personality, inner world, and abilities do. Depending on if I do the Zanpakuto before the shinigami I then decide what aspect of the individual the Zanpakuto is actualizing into an ability OR I figure out how the personality can be shaped into an ability for the zanpakuto.

I tend to use symbolism to help me weave the two together since Bleach states that a shinigami's zanpakuto is intrinsically tied to their personality and background. I try to accentuate the connection between the two as a result of this.

Am I the only one?

I was just curious as I never explicitly asked anyone about their methodology or whatnot...so yeah haha ^^;

I have to discuss with Shoske how many Veteran Captains we are going to have but I'd take a good guess that it'll be about 4-5

Ah that's one of the Squads I have taken =( It's mainly for story purposes as Squad 12 play a rather important role in our story, however I assure you that my Captain will not be in that position forever so you will certainly have a shot at the position in time xD I'll put you down though on the list for veteran Captains though. Just want to say though, if we end up with, for example, 6 people wanting a veteran spot and we decide on only 4 or 5 then we will choose the ones we feel most appropriate to hold that power ranking. Just throwing that out there

I edited my post to say 7th division for now. It may take me a bit to figure out my character as I like to put in tons of detail and thought into mine (not that others don't, I'm only saying that it's my preference. God I'm bad at first impressions *dies*). By the way, do you have a problem if I cover all the bases in the CS, but alter the formatting significantly is that alright? *crosses fingers*

Sounds fine with me @LostBrotherGrimm! Fyi, unless I get enough interest in this here advanced thread, I'm likely to host it as "High Casual-Low Advanced" in the Casual section just so we can get a proper cast.

Based on what responses I have received and what I was thinking initially is that it will be mostly limited to one faction and then maybe one or two people as villains alongside the GMs (or just the GMs so that no one feels left out, we'll see). We'll see how things pan out :)

In short this is a thread meant to divine what those Bleach fans on the Guild would prefer in regards to a Bleach RP. To start it off I'll give several question as well as the basic end goal of this thread, and any that may follow it.

Thread Goal: Gaining an increased understanding of the Guild's Bleach Community.
Overall Purpose: The creation of a Bleach RP that, with few exceptions, will suit the community mentioned above.

Q: Will the RP include canon characters--playable or otherwise?
A: No it will not, the RP will be decidedly AU with mention of the canon characters being either minimal or non-existent.

Q: Would people like to be able to create unique histories and their own lore (royal families, factions, races) at some point in the RP?
