Current Attn teeny boppers: You realize adbots aren't ppl, yes? They randomly generate login info, then execute pre-programmed posts. Your rage-spam goes unheard by the machine. And is equally annoying.

If you're going by UK conventions of knighthood/nobility, yes. It also would be pronounced like the "dam" in "madame," rather than like a Dick Tracy "daym."

Name: Hakuga Yukimura Faction: WaldGeist Age: 18 Gender: Male Appearance:
Personality: Hakuga can seem aloof, stoic, or even dark and broody at times, but if he can be pulled into interacting with others he's actually quite friendly. He displays a brotherly and protective bond with those he deems friends, but to enemies he is overwhelmingly hostile, to the point of being perhaps too merciless even against the corrupt forces of the Empire. When his rage is provoked, it takes him a great deal of time to calm down, and to burn off the excess energy he's often seen training outside camp. He has a peculiar habit of "marking his territory" and doesn't like other people touching his stuff without permission. Personal History: Like a certain sadistic general of the Empire, Hakuga was raised in a remote village in the deep wilderness on the desolate outskirts of civilization. Out here, where Danger Beasts lurked behind every corner, the rule was "The Strong survive, the Weak die." And Hakuga couldn't stand it. The lands around his village were poor for farming, and there weren't any ore deposits to even get metal from, so weapons were scarce. In order to hunt and defend themselves, the members of the village invented and practiced a fierce style of martial arts, said by the few who saw it to be even on the level of the Imperial Fist and the Rakshasa Demons. With movements based on those of fierce predators, it is a style that focuses on completely tearing an enemy apart. Hakuga became strong indeed, but still could not bear the philosophy he was forced to live by. Even a wolf cub is born weak and defenseless. But a grown wolf is fast and deadly, no doubt strong. So which is the wolf? Is it weak or strong? Does it deserve to live or die? And who, truly, had the right to even give those labels in the first place? Martial arts were invented to let the weak fight against the strong and win. So were strong martial artists truly strong? Were the strong actually weak? The world was too complex a place for such a simple, damning excuse of a philosophy! Yet it still enforced the "law of the wild?" He decided that he would pick a fight with the whole world. He would change those rules. If might made right, he would be the mightiest, and then he would make new rules. And in his new world, everyone, whether a weak baby or one who was once strong but now was old and toothless...all of them would have a chance to be happy. He left his village and traveled, seeking to become stronger and to change the world a little bit at a time. But in doing so he was exposed to the black heart of the Empire, and filled with an utter, all consuming fury. Immediately he sought out the Revolutionary Army, and fought his hardest against what he saw as the very personification of the ideal he had hated all his life. Skills: +Master of Hand to Hand Combat - As his martial arts were designed to defeat Danger Beasts, Hakuga is used to fighting those stronger or larger than he is, and his experience in deflecting claws, tails, and fangs even allows him some degree of skill against a weapon. +Athleticism - Because of his training, Hakuga's running, jumping, climbing, and other purely athletic abilities are beyond the norm for a human. +Cooking - If he can get his hands on it, he can make almost anything taste great, even the scaly flesh of Danger Beasts. This comes from his experience of hunting for his own food, and his travels. Teigu: Currently Not Obtained. Listed below, however, is the Teigu I've discussed him gaining with the GM. Raging Beast: Beowulf This Teigu is a secondary model that used Animal King: Lionelle as a prototype after it was lost; while Lionelle would later be found by pure coincidence by Leone of Night Raid, Beowulf was stolen by the revolution. Whereas Lionelle's greatest ability lay in its enhanced healing, Beowulf was designed to make the user the ultimate predator. Its healing factor is only slightly higher than that of a normal human's, but in exchange their physical attributes are far higher, granting them enormous strength and speed, exponentially enhanced senses, and animal instinct. In addition, its special skill "Predation" allows the user to become stronger through a rather grotesque method: They must devour the flesh of other living beings. The stronger the flesh that is eaten, the greater the growth in power. The downside to this Teigu is that the user must have an extremely strong will to control it, as their aggression rises to the max. This Teigu takes the form of a belt, like Lionelle, made of fine golden fur threaded into a soft cloth. Despite its seeming frailty, it cannot be destroyed by normal means. When used, the wielder transforms into a

Blighted Woods
Joe vs Twig Blight A&B
As Joe threw Twig Blight A into the path of the Needle Blight attacking Hazel, he not only helped her dodge it but did some more damage to the enemy. The Twig Blight squealed as its comrade accidentally pelted it with needles. [Twig Blight A's HP is low!] Though he took a bit of damage himself, intentionally getting the monster's claws stuck in his clothing and flesh, Joe managed to wrap the creature in a bear hug. As he attempted to squeeze the life out of it, its body crackled and popped. However, it didn't seem like he was quite strong enough to just utterly crush it. His secondary plan of striking with his knees while clenched, however, did a similar number as his low kicks had on the other Twig Blight; the woody creature's legs began to give way under repeated strikes as it squirmed and dug in its claws wherever it could, trying to get away...
Soka and Hayato vs Vine Blight A&B and Needle Blight
Soka's attacks on Vine Blight A were vicious, and the metal edges bit into its form as easily as Hayato's sword had before. It screeched as its lower body was nearly severed from its torso, and it quickly began to sprout new vines to replace the old ones. As Soka turned to attack the Needle Blight, the Vine Blight lashed out at him with its upper limbs. Vine Blight B did the same; while Soka was entangled, his ability to move was severely reduced. [Vine Blight A's HP is half-gone!] The Needle Blight, meanwhile, was able to leap out of the way of the cutting whirlwind, avoiding it with a woody cackle. Then it noticed Hayato bearing down on it with a fury. "Blade Trail!" A blue line tinged with black slashed across the Blight's remaining leg as Hayato dashed past it, again severing the limb. Without any means of locomotion, the creature dropped to the ground with a squeal. [Needle Blight's Speed reduced to 0! As a result its Evasion is halved!]
John vs Needle Blight and Twig Blight
The Needle Blight was again struck by the Cactus Cat's tail, knocking it off balance, but it managed to raise both arms, pointing its claws at the Cactus Cat. It let loose a hail of glowing needles at the animal with a crackling near its mouth that could have been a smirk. [Needle Blight used Needle Spray! Its HP is 1/4th gone!] John managed to grapple the Twig Blight and stop its attacks, and just like its brethren had against Joe, it found itself somewhat helpless. However, the Summoner wasn't as strong as Joe was, and sooner or later the Twig Blight would probably manage to break free...
Hazel vs Needle Blight
With the bit of unexpected help from Joe, Hazel was unharmed by the Needle Blight's attack. It, however, was not so lucky. This time her strike was true, with nothing in its way, and the Needle Blight squealed one last time as the blade cleaved through its head and deep into its body, splitting it open all the way down to where a human's pelvic bone would be. If it had possessed any innards, they would have made quite the mess, falling out of an opened up ribcage. The branches that made up the creature's body gave a shudder, and a soft green glow seemed to dissipate from them. Then the Blight fell, dry and lifeless, to the forest floor. [Enemy defeated! Hazel's free to help comrades or engage another Exbeast!]
Fire Rat Extermination
Taeion's investigation of the burned warehouse soon turned up results; along one side, near a dumpster with a corner of its base melted and burned away, were the remains of what looked like a campfire. More than likely, this was a Fire Rat's nest at some point. There was a hole burned into the warehouse here as well, and from the look of some smeared, sooty paw prints, a large group of the creatures had been here at one point. Further sprinkles of black ash and a few sear marks continued on across the docks, even at one point melting through a tall chainlink fence that separated the rest of the area from the shipyard, where numerous workers and machines were putting together a huge metal ship with a great deal of noise. At the back of the shipyard were several crates that had once been used to hold or deliver parts for the ships, several of them wooden and many of them now filled with trash. Taeion could already smell something burning...but, anyone who's ever had a mouse in their house knows that rodents are cowardly little critters, fast, and good at finding new hiding spots. How could he lure them out, or otherwise attack without scattering them across the docks...?
Thanks! The biggest concern I had was my character's combat ability being a problem. Basically, he's a glaiveknight that's actually kinda useless at the start of the battle, but has an "essence draining" ability on his glaive (A magic drill, a mechanical magic bug or what-not) that shoots at certain parts of the enemy and steals certain aspects, and gives it to him, making him hit harder, or take more hits, or move faster, or perform more complicated moves. The power doesn't last forever though, and sooner or later, he'll have to steal another essence to keep fighting efficiently. Basically, if you've seen the insect glaive from Monster Hunter, then you know his ability! Is that okay?
Sour Grapes
It sounds alright to me, but like the special weapons I've allowed Suzuki and 71342, I'd prefer if we ironed out the details over PM first. Could you send me some more information about it, along with how it ties into your character? Also, I've got to go for a little while, but hopefully I gave the other two groups enough to go on until I get back. I decided to wait for Diggerton for the other group, so I could do the responses all at once. Hope that's no problem, and I'll see you guys in a bit!
Cockatrice Hunt Rian, Ryouta, Haruka, and Winnifred
As the telepad was activated, the sigils shifted into place and the magic rune began to spin. In a brief flash, they found themselves on a small island consisting of a statue of someone who looked like a businessman from the early 1900s, a single tall oak tree, and a couple of flowerbeds. The little isle was surrounded by curb, and smack dab in the middle of the streets that formed the town square. Old shops, many of them closed down and some obviously rennovated several times , their signs painted over and various parts of the buildings replaced, lined the small roads. It was like they had stepped back almost fifty years in time, in this quaint "small-America" town. A small blue orb with green runes floating around it was hovering between the group. A human voice tinged with a mechanical sound spoke from it. "Telepad activation successful. Location does not possess telepad; Sprite will remain for 48 hours if not activated. Students, when you have finished your assignment, activate the Sprite. If the time limit has elapsed, call the Academy via phone or use another contact method. Failure to report within twice the time limit will prompt a search-and-rescue team dispatchment. Good Luck." The Sprite dimmed its glow a bit, and remained floating at about head height. Suddenly, a car horn honked. Someone had stopped their car not too far away, and was trying to get the group's attention. "Hey! Y'all from that fancy magic school? If'n yer lookin' fer that thar bird, it was runnin' through the corn fields south'a town this mornin'!"
Fire Rat Extermination Taeion
As Taeion's telepad activated, he too was gone in a flash, and appeared at a large dock area, where cranes were loading cargo onto ships or carrying it off, and a dockworker on a forklift carrying a large pile of boxes slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting the boy who'd appeared out of nowhere. "What the--where'd you come from!?" the man said. Just then, a Sprite floated out behind Taeion. "Telepad activation successful. Location does not possess telepad; Sprite will remain for 48 hours if not activated. Student "Taeion", when you have finished your assignment, activate the Sprite. If the time limit has elapsed, call the Academy via phone or use another contact method. Failure to report within twice the time limit will prompt a search-and-rescue team dispatchment. Good Luck." "The hell?" said the dockworker, jumping down from his machine. "Is that...some kinda magic thing? Are you from that academy we sent the message to, about the Exbeasts?" He pointed over to a warehouse that looked like it had just recently been burned, its roof collapsed in a heap of blackened plaster and concrete. "Those Fire Rats were in there yesterday, but the fire departmen's water hose must have scared them off. There's a good chance they've holed up somewhere else nearby, though--look for their footprints. The little bastards don't just leave a print, their claws actually burn into whatever they step on."
Hi guys! I don't mean to charge in here and be rude, so sorry if I am. I was just wondering if its okay if I join? Also, is it cool if I pitch a character idea here before posting a full sheet?
Sour Grapes
No problem! Sure, we'd be happy to have you, and you can either pitch your character here or PM it to me, whatever works for you!
Joe vs Twig Blight
Joe's grapple was successful, and with his greater strength he was able to hold the Twig Blight's arms and keep it from clawing him. The creature struggled with shrill cries to try and get free, as it had no teeth to bite with and its legs weren't flexible enough to kick. As Joe pulverized its lower body with kicks, the twigs that made up its form were broken one after the other, and the creature slowly began to crumble from the waist down. It continued to struggle and screeched for help. [Twig Blight searches for help! Twig Blight B appeared!] Another monster ran at Joe from behind, swinging down both of its claws to rip into his back...
Hazel vs Needle Blight
The creature raised what was left of its arms and curled them tightly near its neck in an attempt to slow down Hazel's strike. The sword once again cut through its limbs, and even dug into its neck, but by that time it had lost enough momentum that the rest of the strike's power only threw the creature across the ground. It struggled to get up now, however, with only shoulder stumps left. It only managed to get on its knees, but with a crackling woody sound it opened its jaws wide, and unleashed another storm of needles at Hazel. [Critical Hit! Needle Blight's HP is low! Needle Blight used Needle Spray!]
Soka and Hayato vs Vine Blight A&B and Needle Blight
With his metal blade, Soka was able to inflict some light cuts on the moving vines, but as he had said moving targets were difficult to hit. Vine Blight A withdrew the tendrils, but didn't seem too concerned. Soka was, however, able to free himself from the Vine Blight B's Entangle spell--only for Vine Blight A to cast it again, and again Entangle him. "Ignore the foottrap and aim for the main body! Your spells don't need you to move!" Hayato advised, charging at one of the Vine Blights himself. He brought his blade down on the same one that currently had Soka trapped, cutting a huge gash into the tightly woven body. The Vine Blight screamed, its hold on Soka weakening, but its comrade cast another Entangle on Hayato--the Knight, however, was strong enough to kick the tendrils away. But he wasn't fast enough to dodge the Needle Spray that the other Blight cast at him, and a hail of the glowing needles hit him in the chest. He cried out and stumbled backwards, bleeding from a dozen places where it felt like he'd been stabbed with a pen. [Soka is free from Entangle! Vine Blight A took a Critical Hit! Needle Blight used Needle Spray on Hayato!]
John vs Needle Blight and Twig Blight
The Cactus-Cat's tail dealt the Needle Blight a hefty blow to the ribs, knocking the creature backwards. With a shriek it attempted to attack the Summon with its thorny claws. Meanwhile, John's attempt to grapple an oncoming Twig Blight was only partially successful. While he was able to stop it from going after the Cactus Cat, now its attention was on him, and it repeatedly began clawing at him with its one free arm...
About to post for the Blighted Woods group. For the Cockatrice Hunt group, do you guys want me to describe the rural town you'll be going to, or do you want to do it yourselves?
Tall pines swayed on the mountainside. On the dark forest floor Herbs and Blue Mushrooms grew amidst fallen needles and damp moss. A Kelbi pulled up an Herb, chewing contently. A Velociprey leaped from behind a tree onto the Kelbi, bringing it down and biting into its throat. With a terrible cracking and ripping sound the prey's life ended. Hidden in the bushes, another predator watched, licking its hands. When its fists were coated in saliva, it sprang. A human boy charged from the brush with a yell, surprising the Velociprey. His fist rocked the beast's skinny head, and a vicious barrage of blows followed. He knocked the monster to the ground, then dropped to his knees and raised both arms high. "GAKIIIIII!" He brought his fists down and crushed the raptor's skull. It gave one last twitch and was still. Gaki threw the Kelbi over one shoulder and the Velociprey over the other, a huge grin on his face as he ran off back into the forest. He would eat like a king tonight!
Maybe start with a caravan of people and covered wagons rolling up to whatever location they're going to build the town in, describe the scenery a little bit, and then let people start doing their intros? edit: Also, sorry if this seems like I'm rushing, don't mean to sound impatient or anything.
