And if you mean the Pen&Paper D&D RPG... Then yes, it kind of is. It's still a videogame ofcourse and luckily RNGesus isnt that prevelant in the game. It's probably one of the closest videogame adaptations of Pen&Paper style RPGs.

EDIT: Also, it isnt holding your hand all the while. If you decide to wander off into a cave in your first hour of playing you might be facing a Dragon... And die because you're just a newbie adventurer fighting a Dragon!

Before this game I didnt like it either. Now... I'm addicted. There is more lore in the first 10 minutes of this game then there is in the entire Mass Effect Universe. (Exageration but it's really alot!)
