@Hillan Make Kyle happen. Carol's out of pocket in the Negative Zone and will be for some time, the Guardians are going to presume there's going to be some blowback from Sinestro/Carol's incursion there, so it makes sense that they'd move to replace them.
I've been writing under the assumption Alan isn't active or at least partially retired. I may at some point have even attempted to explain his powers/ring being somewhat different to most Green Lanterns, because to be frank I think it does Alan's uniqueness a disservice to make him an ordinary (albeit older) Green Lantern.

I guess I have to play Jade then (I will only do Red Skull events anyway, not actual arcs) to explain that away. But yes, he is out of the picture for the moment (though he was being considered for advanced to the reserve corps). My version of Alan was a mixture of classic and New 52 though.
As always with these things, I'll err on the side of not putting anything to paper that'll contradict that and let whoever might want to play Alan or a related player explain it further down the line.
It's important though that we don't set too much of a precedent of existing characters being restrained by characters that don't already exist within the game because, though it's not an issue on this occasion, I could see that becoming a point of contention at some point.

Green Lantern Ring - Like all Green Lanterns, Jade Scott has the ability to create constructs based on her will which is granted from the energy of Ion.

In the beginning when the universe was young there existed the emotional spectrum and the alien entities that embodied each essence. These entities were seven—Ion of Will, Atrocitus of Rage, Ophidian of Greed, Parralax of Fear, Adara of Hope, Zamaron of Love, and Proselyte of Compassion. The guardians of Oa have archived the stories of this period where Atrocitus turned on his brothers and sisters in a fit of anger, Ophidian sought out more power, and Parralax watched as he contemplated their destruction by the fear of the two brothers caused in their battle. In the end the only truth that is known is that Atrocitus, Ophidian, and Parralax were locked away and the guardians of Oa began to work with the remaining entities to observe the galaxy—hoping such destruction would never be unleashed again. Thus the Lantern Corps Initiative was born—embodying a fraction of each entities power to a single person as long as they were “worthy” of such gifts.
In the time of the initiative, the guardians saw empires fall (Salamon, Psion) and evil forces disappear (The Blight, The Manhunters).

Born of two worlds: Jade is the daughter of Alan Scott and a thorn named Rose. Alan Scott was born on Earth and through an indomitable willpower during the Korean War later became one of two green lanterns of his sector alongside the wise Abin Sur. After the Justice Society disbanded in 1979, Alan Scott removed himself from his homeworld— seeing the bigger picture among other Green Lanterns; hence why history did not see a Green Lantern since 1982. For years Alan Scott served with the most dutiful loyalty that the corps had seen in a long while—granting him respect and recognition among his peers.
Then there was the homeworld of the race known as the thorn. This planet, within the corps jurisdiction found itself under attack by raiders with a device to reap and harvest the planet’s resources—knowing the race would be unable to resist due to their inherent link to a cosmic force within nature they assumed they would be out of there with little resistance and before the corps would happen upon them. The planet however did suffer massive casualties as the pure emotional and psychological pain they experienced began to take its toll. The druidic people irregardless of this mounted a defense as the planet attempted to fight back against these raiders but even then it seemed to be an uphill battle… or it would have been if it were not for Alan Scott and his team of green lanterns. Scott fought back the raiders and defeated them into submission and hauled them back to galactic court to face the law.
Jade’s mother was grateful to Alan Scott when he returned a few galactic cycles later and they fell in with each other; eventually resulting in the birth of Jade; which despite a taboo on other worlds was only looked upon with worry for the child. Jade’s childhood was one of half-thorn culture and half-thorn connections: she could not move earth or water but she still felt the “heartbeat” of nature itself— the planetary soul. Even with this weight she strived to be good and growing up knowing of what the Green Lantern’s stood for and who her father was she began to envy the outside world; something few thorn did. This resulting her into leaving her home when it became an ample opportunity; as Jade does this Alan Scott returns to Earth after nearly half of his life ignoring the planet.
Jade’s fiery and adventurous personality garnered her friends as she traveled throughout the galaxy. As time would come it became apparent that Jade was destined to become a member of the lantern corps initiative. She found herself fighting off complete and emotional agony when the planets she came to visit “spoke” to her as they called for help. This feeling that enveloped Jade made her realize that her people were wasting their time away on their homeworld when other planets suffered as she experienced almost unbearable pain each time she stood on these new worlds that called out to her. As thus she began to adventure despite being so young in the scheme of things and she knew she would be a protector—she had to be one. Therefore Jade Scott traveled and fell in with a variety of others in the pursuit of being a protector such as a group of freedom fighters on Zureq, she fought against raiders on Yovk, and even defended against slavers on Vega. Assigned to veteran lantern member Arisia Rrab, Jade Scott found a mentor in the form of the graxonite that became the perfect fit for the thornian. In fact, the guardians selected Arisia specifically for the fact she was a hardened lantern who reflected Jade in many ways—her father was one of the most renowned lanterns in the corps, she had become a member of the corps as a teenager, and initially had a fiery volatile personality that had to be reined in by her former mentor/partner. Jade was finally thrilled with finally been assigned responsibilities after several galactic standard months passing since she passed her recruit training that was heralded by Kilowog and Katma Tui. The following missions that Arisia and Jade would go on to allow Jade to understand the scheme of galactic politics such as the Tamaran Empire’s policy against the corps activity through the space of their sovereignty. Traveling to the Vega System as carefully as possible they came into contact with a group of smugglers distributing illegal goods on an abandoned space station that served as a criminal hotspot. The lanterns had been keeping eyes on the location but rumors had it that an artifact of Psion origin had been shipped there which they planned to sell to The Blight who had supposedly returned and were interested in such things. Donning disguises and entering the station they intended to infiltrate and gather Intel directly on the Blight as well as the nature of the artifact. However, when word reached the criminals that the Blight had attacked a Tamaran Empire colony for a similar artifact they voided all interest due to a desire of not wanting to cross the Tamaran Empire so eagerly. Despite this the deal went south when one of the smuggler’s associates recognized Arisia and things turned into a firefight. Jade’s first mission turned into her first taste of action as they dealt with the men and acquired the artifact. They returned to Oa with a mission complete report in mind.
As the Blight threat continues to spread; the Darkstar Alliance begins to work with the Lantern Corps Initiative—a rare occurrence. As Alan Scott is sent to investigate a sighting of the Blight with Merayn Dethalis. As the two do this Jade and Arisa report back to the lantern corps council and a science team from Rann is sent to study the Psion artifact comprised of Sardath and an earthling by the name of Adam Strange among others. This brings the investigation to a heading as it is soon discovered that the artifacts were designed by an ancient Psion named H'san Natall who was working on a device that could tap into the emotional spectrum and disable it—thus cutting the entities off from their spectrum or perhaps manipulate the spectrum for their own gain. This must be stopped and a task force is organized to deal with the Blight problem at the source before they tampered with what they could not understand as the consequences would be dire. Eventually this team led by Thaal Sinestro find themselves successful in their mission as Sinestro acts with a brutality that “must be done” which the guardians of Oa secretly agree. Alan Scott witnesses this event when he and Merayn end up on the same planet after following their own investigation and Scott is appalled by the genocide Sinestro enacts as he uses a scientific device to specifically kill all of the insectoid aliens in one swift motion. Alan Scott sees this as an act of fear and confronts Sinestro and later the guardians. The situation is left open as Alan Scott is assigned time off to cool his head before his next mission; he begins to wonder what lengths the guardians would go—lengths he disagrees with.
The new year has brought dread and ever-consuming worry with the news that Alan Scott has not reported back to Oa after a deep space mission after his ship—the Starheart was found drifting in space with no trace of the green lantern; and worst of all, Scott’s lantern ring is giving off no signal indicated his or its location. The guardians declare this an important matter as they discuss the possibility of organizing a task force team to investigate his last known whereabouts. Jade pleads to the guardians to put her on such a team as its paramount to her to see her father brought back alive as she holds on to the hope that he is still out there. Unbenowst to the corps and Jade, Alan Scott has been captured by a fringe group of manhunters that have remained in hiding whose plans are grand indeed.

On a serious note, we ought to discuss a character limit if only for the sake of clarity and to ensure that every character is being played by someone that is going to prioritise them and be active with the characters they do have. Letting people carry too many might result in someone, and I'm not even directing this at you @Gowi, squatting on a character that someone out there might love to play.

The character limit will be basically set on GM opinion of what the players can handle (hence why you and Henry were allowed two to the generic one since you guys are trusted/proven players). I think capping at four is nominal enough, though do note I do consider Red Skull more of a GM character than a character character if that makes any sense.

Humble Beginnings
Born with a predetermined destiny, Tarene believed her life was perfectly scripted out for her and all she had to do was play her part. A future seer declared that she would become a great hero and save many world's from darkness. What she did not know was that even a prescripted destiny was hard to follow.
A Hero is Born
At first, she was subject to much ridicule and scorn from the larger, older and more battle-hardened Asgardian men whom didn't believe a young girl such as Tarene could hold her own in battle. Although disappointed at first, she wasn't dissuaded and fought to convince the nay-sayers that she was just as capable as they were. Thor Odinson noticed the young girls enthusiasm and determination and encouraged her to train harder, his encouragement, along with that of the Lady Sif whom was also making a name on the battlefield for herself, allowed Tarene to get her first taste of battle on the cold wastes of Jotunheim.
Out in the frosts, Thor Odinson noticed that Tarene was indeed a brave warrior, and so he allowed her to fight alongside him in future conflicts. He bestowed unto her many tips and stories to aid her growth as a warrior. She learned to use a variety of weapons before finally settling on a golden hammer, thus earning her the nickname Thor Girl as she fought alongside Thor Odinson using a hammer, much like he did with his Mjolnir.
Over time Tarene became a powerful goddess in her own right, proving herself to be a formidable Asgardian warrior, comparable to the Lady Sif. She earned the respect and admiration of her peers, yet despite her many courageous feats, she often appeared as little more than a sidekick to Thor Odinson. Although she greatly admired and respected her mentor, Tarene wanted to live out her own destiny and not spend her days living in the shadow of her mentor. She loyally served under the All Father Odin, and later under Thor following his coronation as King of Asgard.
Brother Dearest
Loki, adopted brother of Thor, often wrought havoc in Asgard and across a number of the 9 Realms. Despite having more than one opportunity to kill Loki, Thor could never bring himself to slay his brother, and despite Tarene's protests, he would not allow her to slay Loki either. Sparing Loki would later prove to be Thor's greatest mistake as Ruler of Asgard. Tarene, reluctant to commit treason and betray her King, stayed her hand, though she was reluctant to spare Loki's life. Loki was committed to prison but even locked in a cage, Loki could not be stopped.
When Heroes Fall: Ragnarok
Loki, bitter and vengeful, allied himself with the Fire Demon Surtur so that he could escape his prison and destroy Asgard, the events that transpired culminated in Ragnarok, a war which would destroy the Asgardians and the entire realm of Asgard.
When Ragnarok (the end of days) struck her precious realm of Asgard, Tarene took up arms to face off against the End itself. During the fight, an evil clone of Thor appeared and attacked her she believed she had been betrayed by her greatest ally. She sought out Loki to fight him head on and kill him once and for all but despite her years of battle, Loki proved to be a more formidable opponent, catching her out with tricks and sorcery. Moments before Loki, alongside the evil Thor-clone could deliver what would have been a fatal blow, the real Thor Odinson appeared and saved her. Thor Odinson had lost one of his arms, but in the other arm, he clung onto Mjolnir. He told her to fall back, to take the Bifrost to Vanaheim before it was destroyed.
While Asgard crumbled around her and became consumed by fire, death and destruction, she managed to make her escape, under Odinson's orders and reached Vanaheim where the Vanir used their magic to heal her. During her escape and subsequent recuperation, Asgard fell and the Asgardian's were killed in the war.
The Aftermath
Dreadfully depressed about what she believed to be her failure to stop the end and save the realm she loved so dearly Tarene began to roam the 9 realms in search of Thor Odinson and in search of answers. SHe believed that Thor Odinson was so strong that he could not possibly have perished.
Her spirit broken by what she believed was her utter failure to live up to her destiny, she wandered the world like a lost soul for many years, digging through the wreckage of Asgard and discovering only ashes and bones.
A Hero Reborn
Tarene's life would take an interesting new course when she found Mjolnir, Thor's legendary hammer. With nothing left of Asgard, Tarene wound up on Midgard (Earth), a realm which Thor Odinson had always held a great fondness for. She adopted the alias "Tara Olsen" to blend in with Midgardian society, but it was largely a struggle and she found herself living a nomadic lifestyle travelling with caravaners across the United States. In the wilds of Oklahoma she discovered Mjolnir lying abandoned in a desert crater. To her own disbelief, she was able to lift the hammer and thus she acquired Thor's powers. Believing her own destiny was a lost cause she took up the mantle of Thor taking his name and his legacy and seeking to right the wrongs that had befallen Asgard.
The discovery of Mjolnir abandoned on Midgard was both a comfort, and also distressing. With Mjolnir on Midgard instead of Asgard, she believed perhaps Odinson had escaped, however, Odinson would never part with his hammer willingly, which led Tarene to believe perhaps something untoward had happened to her former King.
Regardless of Odinson's fate, Tarene became "Thor, Goddess of Thunder" and vowed to remedy the wrongs that had befallen Asgard and protect Odinson's precious Earth Realm. She made her way out of the desert to begin her new life. Armed with Mjolnir, but no idea what Midgardian life and culture consisted of, she had a shaky start. The city is a whole other world compared to the desert wilds or the pristine uninhabited mountains, still new to this world, the new Thor has to learn who her friends and enemies are, and also how to use a cell phone.
Does History Repeat Itself?
A deep seeded self-loathing, and an unstable lust for revenge against those who played a role in Ragnarok (namely Loki Laufeyson) mean that she walks along a thin line between saving the world, and destroying it herself.
Will she become the hero she was meant to be or will she end up causing more destruction than Ragnarok unleashed upon her world?| Attributes |
Strenghts:
Mjolnir: mythical hammer only those deemed worthy if it's power shall lift it and with the hammer she possesses the powers of Thor. The hammer can be called "telepathically" (for lack of a better word) to fly into her hand whenever she needs it. Forged from Uru it is virtually indestructible and packs a mean punch.
Powers of Thor: with the hammer comes Thor Odinsons powers, aka possessing the power of the God of Thunder. She can manipulate thunder and lightning and create dangerous storms and even tornados with a little help from Mjolnir.
Flight: Thor can use Mjolnir to fly, in a pinch it can be used for interdimensional travel so she can traverse between realms which is great since travelling between realms is tricky since the Bifrost was destroyed.
Asgardian: as she is an Asgardian she is immune to all human illnesses and possesses extreme longevity and a pretty impressive healing factor. Superior strength, speed and stamina and damn good reflexes.
Years of training have resulted in her being a formidable opponent in hand to hand combat as well as being able to use a variety of weapons although Mjolnir is always her trusted weapon of choice.
Asgardian armour: forged by dwarves her armour can take quite a beating, as the Thunder Goddess, she can generate scale-maile armour made of lightning energy itself to protect her arms.
Weaknesses:
Technologically incompetent. She cannot utilise any modern technology.
Unworthy? If Mjolnir no longer deems her worthy she loses the ability to wield the hammer and the perks that come with it thus leaving her in a weakened but not entirely useless state. Without Mjolnir, she still possesses the abilities of a battle hardened Asgardian.
Ignorance is bliss: Thor doesn't know much about earth or its customs, she's also prone to act first and think later so strategizing is not a strong point. On a super hero scale her intelligence is below average but she possesses incredible strength to compensate.
Destiny unbound: with her "failed" destiny as Tarene, she now has a whole new destiny as Thor however this destiny could take her down the wrong path.
Ghosts of the past: she is haunted by her past and believes she failed Odinson and failed Asgard. Her lack of self confidence in Tarene is a weak point and her confidence as the "new Thor" is built on shaky foundations leaving her open to emotional manipulation. She also gets homesick and lonely for good company which means she's likely to hang around with the wrong crowd if they appear inviting.
Ragnarok PTSD: She experiences flashbacks of unimaginable horrors, sometimes reliving what happened on Asgard during Ragnarok. She can react violently and unpredictably.| Character Notes |Supporting Casts & Rogues
Thor Odinson: THE God of Thunder and former wielder of Mjolnir. He has been MiA, presumed KiA, following Ragnarok, no traces of him have yet been found thus he cannot be officially declared dead, however given how long it has been without any sign of him, its presumed he perished on Asgard. (SThor will mention him a lot possibly, but I'm not going to touch this chararcter, in case someone wants to jump in and play Odinson, it would be cool for the two to meet in the future and see how that pans out!)
Jane Foster: Former love interest of Thor Odinson, Foster, and fellow physicist Dr Erik Selvig, were good friends of Odinson's. Given that a total stranger is going to shope up around town swinging a hammer and declaring to be the "God of Thunder" when she is certainly not the Odinson Selvig and Foster are familiar with, they will be displeased with whats going on.

Loki Laufeyson: Thor's greatest enemy, and Odinson's adopted brother. Thor would tear the 9 Realms to shreds if it would reveal Loki's location so she could proceed to tear him limb from limb. The Trickster, Loki is the God of Lies and played a large role to say the least, when it came to bringing about the events of Ragnarok.
Lady Sif and the Warriors Three (Hogun, Volstagg and Fandral): Asgardian warriors and dear friends of Thor's, all presumed dead after the events of Ragnarok, though like Odinson, it is difficult to confirm.Locations
Bifrost:The bridge between realms, Thor used it to escape Asgard but it has since been destroyed and she has relied on powerful magic or other means of travel to get from place to place.
Asgard: Her former home, this realm was destroyed and all that remains is death and rubble.
Jotunheim: Realm of the Frost Giants, a barren, ice cold world where Tarene once fought alongside Thor Odinson.
Vanaheim: A realm of healers and magicians, Thor spent some time here recovering after escaping Asgard.
Midgard: Basically Earth though in Asgard it is referred to as Midgard.
Oklahoma: This is where Tarene discovered Mjolnir lying in a crater and she became Thor.

Thor is evil but has good intentions. She is an anti-villain, a villain who does not want to be a villain or is not aware she is a villain.

She is at risk of becoming unworthy of Mjolnir, as her desire for revenge and the horrors of her past threaten to send her down a dark path.
Destiny doomed to fail: Thor winds up allying with the bad guys believing they are the good guys. She's generally their muscle and does what they say with minimal questions. Running from her past eventually things catch up with her and she realises she is going down the wrong path. Perhaps it's too late and she loses the hammer she hold dear and has to make peace wirh herself in order to become worthy again (of the hammer and/or of being a hero) and fix her mistakes before its too late. Perhaps it will be too late and in her despair and grief she only turns darker and more dangerous and destructive regardless of Mjolnir.
I've played Thor and SThor before in a few different styles and scenarios, while Loki is my babe, I think that my strength lies in playing Thor/SThor when it comes to RP-ing Asgardians. -Loki is still my #1 MCU character though and I love him so much omg-
I want to explore Thor unworthy or evil Thor themes, and also Thor's identity crisis and inability to accept her past mistakes.

It's not done, but I wanted to plop it in here to see if the Origin is alright. Keep in mind the origin is being narrated by a present tense author in a past tense voice. There are probably discrepancies that shouldn't be there, but, for the most part, if there's a switch between past and present, its intentional.
She's a young Catwoman, a baby. Present Selina's supposedly quite young too. I wrote this hoping to get some feel for her characterization. If anybody has any input, it would be much appreciated. I never realized how much I take Selina's characterization for granted till now. And there are quite a few discrepancies in her characterization across comics of the New 52
On another note, I have a headache, which has full stopped me. It was hard to draft something up for Selina, considering I tend to forget she has an origin.
But I tried. This was actually so much harder for me than any other hero I've ever played that it's amazing, and also extremely frustrating. Especially since I don't always need to have a comic book lying around to sift up information on characters like Batman or Batgirl. UM, just know I didn't go with a cat powers origin.

I worked hard, and steadily, and eventually acquired enough connections and experience to procure for myself some semblance of an other identity.
"Catwoman" wasn't made up by me. Some clever guy in the Gotham Times coined the term first, and I took it for myself. By that time, I was used to taking everything for myself. I built a woman around the name, created a suit to match the title. And I loved cats too. It was a sweet coincidence. I had, maybe, five, by then? It's ballooned out of control by now.
I am the queen of cat burglars, if I do say so myself. Unmatched in what I do. I like to consider it a form of self-employment. It makes it sound less...scummy?
I didn't interfere with the superhero world when I donned my cat mask. The superhero world decided to interfere with me.
I guess I have a bit of a reputation now. I'm at place of fame and notoriety that I never dreamed I would be at.
I can't pinpoint where it started. I'm not conscientious of when my made-up name began cropping up in newspapers around Gotham. I was so...amateur? Seriously. Pick a up a paper from around 2003, and you'll see me, captured in what few pictures I was captured in, with the most novice of equipment, the worst of disguises.
Eventually, I started to pick up speed.
Cue Alice Tesla, tech nerd extraordinaire. After all, a girl can't get by on her own, especially when she knows next to nothing about the...tech-y stuff. Alice crafted for me things that were and are as top of the line as it could get, what with funds provided by a cat burglar and a work space fit for something smaller than a hamster. In other words, we weren't and are not doing so bad.
Holly, finally hopped on the bandwagon. It took her long enough. It really did. Days would go by where she would sit at the "nerd table" watching Alice assemble all sorts of weirdo shit, watching me out of the corner of her pretty blue eyes, trying to see if I understood an inkling of what jibberish Tesla would speak.
She...helps. She's not adverse to donning the mask when the time calls, but she tend to stay out of the limelight, or works behind the scenes. We take in a lot of girls, sometimes, get them settled, give them money, and send them on their way.
North Gotham is our playground. Our people live here. The ladies here live under my watchful eyes. They feel safe and protected around me, and who would blame them, when I have my whip noosed around the neck of any person that dares to harm them. I'm not always successful; it would be a stroke of good luck for me to save every girl I ever encountered. I'm too young, and I know it, even if I don't always acknowledge it.
Holly tries to keep tabs on the girls we help, make sure they're not straying, or returning to prostitution. North Gotham looks a lot more prostitute free than it was a few years ago.
Of course, alongside our more noble exploits, I continued my thievery. If I hadn't, we wouldn't have been able to survive, much less help the girls who come to us. Of course, I started messing with some big shit, stealing from museums and the rich.
That was when the big guy started taking an interest in me.
Batman is a nice guy, but he never lets me off the hook. He's always trying to convert me.
"Do the right thing, Catwoman."
Pfft.
In case he hasn't noticed yet, stealing is my life. It's the reason I can afford my luxurious apartment, the reason I can keep twenty cats and never go low on kitty litter or cat food. Stealing has given me everything I have today, has allowed me to live a life, that, otherwise, would have been impossible. I attend parties for the rich and sleep with people who could pay my bills for the rest of my life. Unless batface can offer me a equally decked out alternative...I'm not about to "do the right thing."
I live my life of luxury and help my type of people. I'm content. Batman can go stick his nose up someone else's ass.
The persona of Catwoman has only been in the scene of Gotham for approximately two years now. While Selina has been doing some elementary (and not so elementary) crimes to provide for herself and her people, as she calls them, she has been working alone, or for...lesser, rich people.
Its is only very recently that some of the big names have begun to take an interest in her, namely Penguin. Presently, she's supposed to be infiltrating the Gotham Museum and stealing a rather expensive painting for her employer.

Original Fighting Style (Derivative of Martial Arts)
Selina, while not a professional in Martial Arts, is a professional in whatever she has created for herself. A lot of her fighting style owes its origin to her knowledge on Martial Arts. She has refined some of her skill by taking sparse classes, but mostly relies on her self-made style to get by.
Thievery/Cat Burglary
Selina has perfected the art of theft, and, given her reputation, it only makes sense. If you need something stolen, she's your girl. Of course, nothing is for free in Catwoman's world, except for the things she procures for herself. Hiring her means paying some price, large or small. Selina has an unacknowledged moral compass that occasionally leans towards the side of "good," meaning that...favors from her are not unheard of.
Disguises
Catwoman isn't her only mask. Selina is extremely proficient at disguising herself, utilizing a variety of aesthetic tools to help her pull off appearances that are so totally not Selina Kyle. She's fortunate enough in this skill to be able to appear as a different person for every ball she's ever attended. Not to mention the fact that I.D. forgery helps push along the authenticity of her disguises.
Flexibility
Well, the name says it all. Selina is able to maneuver her body around tight spots when it's called for. It's not a superhuman ability; just a talent she's nursed since childhood.
Bullwhip
She's daft with that whip of hers. Catwoman can use the bullwhip for a plethora of purposes; it is the Catwoman equivalent to Batman's grappling hook whilst simultaneously being Selina's weapon of choice. Alice is tinkering with the whip to see if she can create an electrified version of it, but no luck so far, or rather, not enough resources at the present moment.
Diamond Encrusted Claws
An extremely recent addition to her weapons, crafted by Alice from diamonds stolen by Selina. Retractable diamond claws that fit snuggly against Selina's hands, protruding and retracting with the click of a button. Of course, the whole thing isn't diamond. Just the tips of the claws. The rest of the thing is sturdy metal skeleton.

Selina is young. What semblance of a privileged life that she did have was stripped from her when she was ten. The subsequent eleven years were spent in poverty and, frequently, desperation. What would you do, if you realized you could do something?
So, yes, she is young, and she is naive, and she is selfish. The world is ripe for her picking, and as far as she considers it, she doesn't have to share with everyone. As a result, to say she desires to help superheroes in any way is a long shot. She works on a 'me' agenda, where her well-being comes first and foremost, with the only exceptions being Holly and children and other similarly young and deprived women, all of which she has tender spots for.
It could also be said that she feels safe in her present position. Vigilantes can deal with the world's people and the world's problems.

Dear old dad did what he did and got what he wanted. And when he wanted women, my mother's hourglass figure and heavy red lips answered his call. I guess the words 'contraception' and 'protection' and 'condom' were non-existent in pre-twenty-first century lingo.
But, you know, how does a church girl get that sultry, anyway?
Skipping over the gory details, I was born.
Taa, daa!
Born in the very heart of Gotham, among the the lowest of the low. Gotham is a beautiful city. Beautiful in it's ugly ways, and unique people, beautiful in a way that is disgustingly opposite from, say, New York, or Los Angelos.
Rex hid me, like he hid all the others. I have siblings I didn't even know I had. Up till today, I'm sure I have brothers and sisters eons younger than I am; the drooling toddlers and rebellious pre-teens born to mother's like mine, mothers who still don't have those three special words in their vocabulary. Or that controversial fourth, that life-saver for all underage sexually active sillies out there.
I'm sure mom was his favorite; I was his favorite daughter, after all. I was most certainly not the oldest of his multi-mothered group, but his heir, nonetheless. I'm not sure what he saw in me. His green eyes, his high cheekbones, his real black hair, so rare among white people.
His personality? I was a tough cookie growing up. The kind of kid who fell of her bike, scrapped an inch of skin off her knee, and got right back up on that damn bike and kept going.
Rex gave me everything a little girl could ever want. I got all the girl toys and all the boy toys. Barbie would be in my left hand, G.I. Joe in my right. I learned how to shoot a BB when I was six, and played with lion cubs when I was ten (because Rex loved to collect his exotic animals; power freaks love that kind of thing).
I learned how to fight. This was oh-so important to Rex. It's not something that started in late childhood, either. It was something that Rex started my life with. It was the cornerstone for the skills I have today, the reason I live such a prosperous life right now. All I know now is derived from everything I knew then, skills I had to refine myself because I didn't have the money to afford the lessons I needed.
When you live like my father did, you live with the metaphorical knife to your back all the time. It's not something I would wish on my worst enemy, and is one of the capital reasons I stay out of organized crime. Sometimes the knife prods harder, others times it nearly disappears. You get months of rest and relaxation, where you believe you've shaken off all the competitors. And then someone new and fresh crops up, and it's a new game, same reward. You worry about your family disappearing at night, and if you're smart, you won't have a family.
And Rex didn't have a family. As far as he was concerned, me and mom didn't exist in the sphere of his elite set of like minded, crime executing competitors. But word always get out. Some worm from the inside always spills the beans. And he knew that.
So, he gave his favorite daughter self-defense training. He took what he must have thought was special precautions, warding away the threat of death to myself and mom. He molded me into a small soldier, his little fighter. When I was a kid, I was so talented, I used to fancy myself invincible. Looking back on it now, Rex took lots of unseen steps to keep us safe. His people would be in the shadows, silent guards for his precious possessions (because, I mean, mom was his possession, not his girlfriend, or anything like that.) It made sense. Even with self-defense training, any person bigger than I was would have been able to overpower me. I was a kid. I wasn't brave enough, or strong enough, to kill somebody, if anybody threatened me. We needed are own personal guards.
We also got lucky. People get lucky all the time. If I was being frank, which I am, my life has been one big stroke of good luck.
So here I was, his little karate chopping angel, living a great life, living an opulent life. I stayed in a shitty two story apartment for ten years, but I ate like a fat-ass, and dressed like a princess.
And then, mom killed herself.
Up till today, I struggle to understand why.
She had everything. She had the best clothes in the apartment, the shiniest rings and flashiest bags. At any given moment, she would have had, had at least a hundred dollars in her purse.
And she loved me. I really thought she did. Everything in the way she moved said it. Her smile in the mornings before school, her warm embrace in the afternoon after a hard day of learning math. She put her soul into making me happy. And kids are supposed to be the very epitome of happiness, right?
But she wasn't happy.
Personally, I think it was the unacknowledged elephant in the room. Mom had a wicked drug addiction. She would quit for a little while, developing these heavy dark bags under her eyes from the pressure of resisting. Then she would hop right back on the same horse, go in for the same ride. Rex never tried to stop her. Her drug addiction wasn't his problem.
With mom gone, 'Dad' fell off the face of the planet, and with him went my only source of living income. I was removed from our home of ten years and placed into the cold, callous hands of the shitty foster care system.
Foster care.
What a joke.
I stole A LOT as a kid. I steal a lot today.
Some of my foster families couldn't take care of their own kids, much less a bunch a raggedy orphans. And, mind you, many of them were provided with funds specifically to be used for their foster children, but squandered away on personal interests and biological family needs.
So I stole what I could, because how else would I survive? I became lithe and acrobatic, lean and stealthy, always looking for the opportunity to take what I could take, and have what I wanted.
I was mini Rex, stuck in the confines of dingy houses and rotting apartments.
It was during one of my many foster home transfers that I met Holly Robinson. We had similar backgrounds and became fast friends. Holly's mother, like mine, was a prostitute. It was an unsaid bonding point for the both of us.
Holly has been with me through thick and thin. Our long standing relationship has meant we've had to be crafty to stick together. On the brief occasion or two, it meant running away from our current foster homes to be together. But sometimes, you've just found that special person you can't let go of, and it doesn't matter how or why, you've got to stick together. That was me and Holly.
Eighteen was a momentous occasion for the two of house. Holly was a fraction of a year younger than I was, so i had to wait around a little. But once she hit that mark...we were out together! Thrown into the big, wild, world, not really sure of what were doing. You can understand then, that the next few years were nowhere near as fun as we'd imagined.

And she loved me. I really thought she did. Everything in the way she moved said it. Her smile in the mornings before school, her warm embrace in the afternoon after a hard day of learning math. She put her soul into making me happy. And kids are supposed to be the very epitome of happiness, right?
But she wasn't happy.
Personally, I think it was the unacknowledged elephant in the room. Mom had a wicked drug addiction. She would quit for a little while, developing these heavy dark bags under her eyes from the pressure of resisting. Then she would hop right back on the same horse, go in for the same ride. Rex never tried to stop her. Her drug addiction wasn't his problem.
With mom gone, 'Dad' fell off the face of the planet, and with him went my only source of living income. I was removed from our home of ten years and placed into the cold, callous hands of the shitty foster care system.
Foster care.
What a joke.
I stole A LOT as a kid. I steal a lot today.
Some of my foster families couldn't take care of their own kids, much less a bunch a raggedy orphans. And, mind you, many of them were provided with funds specifically to be used for their foster children, but squandered away on personal interests and biological family needs.
So I stole what I could, because how else would I survive? I became lithe and acrobatic, lean and stealthy, always looking for the opportunity to take what I could take, and have what I wanted.
I was mini Rex, stuck in the confines of dingy houses and rotting apartments.
It was during one of my many foster home transfers that I met Holly Robinson. We had similar backgrounds and became fast friends. Holly's mother, like mine, was a prostitute. It was an unsaid bonding point for the both of us.
Holly has been with me through thick and thin. Our long standing relationship has meant we've had to be crafty to stick together. On the brief occasion or two, it meant running away from our current foster homes to be together. But sometimes, you've just found that special person you can't let go of, and it doesn't matter how or why, you've got to stick together. That was me and Holly.
Eighteen was a momentous occasion for the two of house. Holly was a fraction of a year younger than I was, so i had to wait around a little. But once she hit that mark...we were out together! Thrown into the big, wild, world, not really sure of what were doing. You can understand then, that the next few years were nowhere near as fun as we'd imagined.

But he is the very opposite of cute.
I've seen him in action. The way he prowls in the dark, big and strapping, but lithe and quiet. Terrifying, up close. You think it's funny, "The Batman"; the images you make in your mind, a silly man jumping roof tops with a black, wing-shaped cape, little bat ears peeking up from the top of his shiny dome. But then you see him. You really see him.
I wonder why he chose a bat?
Batman first appeared on the news when I was twenty. He was loathed by the GCPD for being a 'vigilante,' for working outside the confines of the law and law enforcement.
At the age that I was at, with the things I was doing, I thought he was great. A man working past the confines of Gotham's weak system of enforcement, doing the big things and the small things. For a little while, I would even say I idolized him. A lot of young people did.
However, at the time, Batman was quickly shoved to the back of my mind, only making guest appearances in what brief moments in my hectic life that I saw him, be it on T.V., the news, maybe even in real life, in the sparse occurrences that it did happen. Never up close, not yet.
Stealing had become an integral part of my lifestyle. It was how Holly and I survived, thought at first, she didn't quite approve of it. She wanted to do simpler things. For a little while, she took up her mom's mantle and continued on the prostitute business, until I convinced her that STI's would be the death of her.
So, we settled down, two unemployed, young women, depending almost solely on what things I could scrap together on my outings.
This marks the beginning of a year-long rough patch in my life. I was twenty, and desperate. I didn't know what to do with myself. I sometimes had a job, and sometimes didn't. Holly got depressed often, and it was hard to keep her spirits up when we struggled so much. I wasn't particularly level-headed, and needless cat fights between myself and fellow employees weren't unheard of. I got fired a lot, and we ended up sleeping with all the other vagabonds more times than I have fingers.
Imagine that on repeat for an entire year. That was 2001.

I had talent. Maybe not book smarts (hold ye horses, I passed high school), but I had common sense, and a fit body. I mentioned this before, but Rex didn't waste time with my safety. One of his many precautions included instilling in me some form of self-defense. I had nursed those skills for the most of my young life; they, to me, were unique, and therefore required my attention and dedication.
My fighting...is not to the books. I don't have particular move sets like Batman. Everything I have has been created by me, to suit me.
I wasn't Batman. I didn't have a body too big for my head, packed to its brim with muscles. But, I was lean, flexible. I like to fancy the idea that I can do the roof-hopping thing a helluva a lot better than he can, and live doing only cartwheels for the rest of my life.
And I could (can) steal. Oh boy. I had it perfected by 2002. I could slip a cell phone from a man's hand in broad daylight and snatch a purse from an unsuspecting lady without ever being seen. I pilfered houses and stores, and even tried my luck with a bank one night (and failed; I didn't have the equipment for that kind of thing yet). Props to me for trying.
I also discovered my deep passion for helping kids and women more deprived than I was.
Because, I mean, who do you think I see in them?
Holly was always slower with this kind of stuff. Maybe she was more easily frustrated than I was. She didn't have the same background after all. She didn't come from a rich daddy who had afforded her the ability to take self-defense classes. She struggled to learn the moves I thought her, to become as deft as I was. Sometimes she would give up, opting to stay at home, skulking all day, watching T.V., wasting away tubs of sweet chocolate ice cream. I always worried for her. I didn't want to loose someone the same way I'd lost my mother.
That is how I spent the next two years of my life. "Catwoman" wasn't made up by me. Some clever guy in the Gotham Times coined the term first, and I took it for myself. By that time, I was used to taking everything for myself. I built a woman around the name, created a suit to match the title. And I loved cats too. It was a sweet coincidence. I had, maybe, five, by then? It's ballooned out of control by now.
I am the queen of cat burglars, if I do say so myself. Unmatched in what I do. I like to consider it a form of self-employment. It makes it sound less...scummy?
I didn't interfere with the superhero world when I donned my cat mask. The superhero world decided to interfere with me.
I guess I have a bit of a reputation now. I'm at place of fame and notoriety that I never dreamed I would be at.
I can't pinpoint where it started. I'm not conscientious of when my made-up name began cropping up in newspapers around Gotham. I was so...amateur? Seriously. Pick a up a paper from around 2003, and you'll see me, captured in what few pictures I was captured in, with the most novice of equipment, the worst of disguises.
Eventually, I started to pick up speed.
Cue Alice Tesla, tech nerd extraordinaire. After all, a girl can't get by on her own, especially when she knows next to nothing about the...tech-y stuff. Alice crafted for me things that were and are as top of the line as it could get, what with funds provided by a cat burglar and a work space fit for something smaller than a hamster. In other words, we weren't and are not doing so bad.
Holly, finally hopped on the bandwagon. It took her long enough. It really did. Days would go by where she would sit at the "nerd table" watching Alice assemble all sorts of weirdo shit, watching me out of the corner of her pretty blue eyes, trying to see if I understood an inkling of what jibberish Tesla would speak.
She...helps. She's not adverse to donning the mask when the time calls, but she tend to stay out of the limelight, or works behind the scenes. We take in a lot of girls, sometimes, get them settled, give them money, and send them on their way.
North Gotham is our playground. Our people live here. The ladies here live under my watchful eyes. They feel safe and protected around me, and who would blame them, when I have my whip noosed around the neck of any person that dares to harm them. I'm not always successful; it would be a stroke of good luck for me to save every girl I ever encountered. I'm too young, and I know it, even if I don't always acknowledge it.
Holly tries to keep tabs on the girls we help, make sure they're not straying, or returning to prostitution. North Gotham looks a lot more prostitute free than it was a few years ago.
Of course, alongside our more noble exploits, I continued my thievery. If I hadn't, we wouldn't have been able to survive, much less help the girls who come to us. Of course, I started messing with some big shit, stealing from museums and the rich.
That was when the big guy started taking an interest in me.
Batman is a nice guy, but he never lets me off the hook. He's always trying to convert me.
"Do the right thing, Catwoman."
Pfft.
In case he hasn't noticed yet, stealing is my life. It's the reason I can afford my luxurious apartment, the reason I can keep twenty cats and never go low on kitty litter or cat food. Stealing has given me everything I have today, has allowed me to live a life, that, otherwise, would have been impossible. I attend parties for the rich and sleep with people who could pay my bills for the rest of my life. Unless batface can offer me a equally decked out alternative...I'm not about to "do the right thing."
I live my life of luxury and help my type of people. I'm content. Batman can go stick his nose up someone else's ass.
The persona of Catwoman has only been in the scene of Gotham for approximately two years now. While Selina has been doing some elementary (and not so elementary) crimes to provide for herself and her people, as she calls them, she has been working alone, or for...lesser, rich people.
Its is only very recently that some of the big names have begun to take an interest in her, namely Penguin. Presently, she's supposed to be infiltrating the Gotham Museum and stealing a rather expensive painting for her employer.

Original Fighting Style (Derivative of Martial Arts)
Selina, while not a professional in Martial Arts, is a professional in whatever she has created for herself. A lot of her fighting style owes its origin to her knowledge on Martial Arts. She has refined some of her skill by taking sparse classes, but mostly relies on her self-made style to get by.
Thievery/Cat Burglary
Selina has perfected the art of theft, and, given her reputation, it only makes sense. If you need something stolen, she's your girl. Of course, nothing is for free in Catwoman's world, except for the things she procures for herself. Hiring her means paying some price, large or small. Selina has an unacknowledged moral compass that occasionally leans towards the side of "good," meaning that...favors from her are not unheard of.
Disguises
Catwoman isn't her only mask. Selina is extremely proficient at disguising herself, utilizing a variety of aesthetic tools to help her pull off appearances that are so totally not Selina Kyle. She's fortunate enough in this skill to be able to appear as a different person for every ball she's ever attended. Not to mention the fact that I.D. forgery helps push along the authenticity of her disguises.
Flexibility
Well, the name says it all. Selina is able to maneuver her body around tight spots when it's called for. It's not a superhuman ability; just a talent she's nursed since childhood.
Bullwhip
She's daft with that whip of hers. Catwoman can use the bullwhip for a plethora of purposes; it is the Catwoman equivalent to Batman's grappling hook whilst simultaneously being Selina's weapon of choice. Alice is tinkering with the whip to see if she can create an electrified version of it, but no luck so far, or rather, not enough resources at the present moment.
Diamond Encrusted Claws
An extremely recent addition to her weapons, crafted by Alice from diamonds stolen by Selina. Retractable diamond claws that fit snuggly against Selina's hands, protruding and retracting with the click of a button. Of course, the whole thing isn't diamond. Just the tips of the claws. The rest of the thing is sturdy metal skeleton.

- Holly Robinson - Best friend, occasional lover. Holly and Selina work well together, and have a strong, seemingly unbreakable bond. Holly occasinal dons the Catwoman mask when Selina can't attend to it.
- Alice Tesla - In Selina's words, "nerd extraordinaire." Alice takes care of the Selina's equipment. She's young, and isn't quite close to either to Selina or Holly. But she helps them, and the ladies appreciate and like her.

Selina is young. What semblance of a privileged life that she did have was stripped from her when she was ten. The subsequent eleven years were spent in poverty and, frequently, desperation. What would you do, if you realized you could do something?
So, yes, she is young, and she is naive, and she is selfish. The world is ripe for her picking, and as far as she considers it, she doesn't have to share with everyone. As a result, to say she desires to help superheroes in any way is a long shot. She works on a 'me' agenda, where her well-being comes first and foremost, with the only exceptions being Holly and children and other similarly young and deprived women, all of which she has tender spots for.
It could also be said that she feels safe in her present position. Vigilantes can deal with the world's people and the world's problems.

It's most certainly a good start. Though I should mention Poison Ivy hasn't debuted yet and I was considering having that be one of my arcs (maybe one very soon).
