“For years we believed The Batman to be a ghost; an urban myth. But we were wrong, and for these last few years… things have been better. How is it that one man in a Halloween costume gets more done than an entire Police Department? I don’t understand it.”

Well, a lot of our previous Batman players are pretty much missing in action and I’d hate to put up an application without Eddie being around to understand we are rebooting, but as Maximum showed is that I can play Batman with enough inspiration and variety to keep it interesting and experienced. I strive to work with legacy characters and other contenders to make an enjoyable Gotham scene.

To add on to that, honestly, I can be active fairly often, and I’m a general team player. I can provide a competent and active Batfamily with conflicts that isn’t just him thwoping the Joker. There’s going to be plenty Bruce Wayne as much as there is The Batman and his dynamic with his supporting cast is something I can provide that will be different from previous incarnations by Byrd in World of Heroes and MB in Ultimate DC and Singular Universe. I constantly research, make links, communicate, as well as set aside time DAILY to decide what I’m doing with my next post, and read the backlogs of the entirety of the superherohype run as the most immersed player that debuted in 2013. I can tell you one thing: nobody is going to these lengths.

I will attempt to go at great lengths to make sure this Batman doesn’t disappear in a month and we have a missing Justice League member on our roster. I will refuse to slip up.

“He’s irresponsible, immature, impulsive, and foolish. But somehow he’s exactly what we need. I should abhor him, but I don’t. I wonder why?”

Identity

Tony Stark
Iron Man

Power Suit – A state of the art technological suit that offers the user superhuman abilities. Not only is the Iron Man suit durable and strong it can also project energy in a multitude of ways including shielding, repulsor rays, energy beams, and energy discharge. It is also equipped with a variation of missiles and small arms.

Character Goals

I’ve played Iron Man before and though it’s been awhile I think I still have a voice with him. Much like Batman I can provide a cooperative yet interesting lead on with the idiot in the iron armor. With that said I can promise the same things I promised with Batman though from a different angle. Whilst it’s still a “genius billionaire does stuff” character it is definitely different enough to have fun with and there’s nothing more fun than telling Thor to get out of my damn building. Also, I can promise this Tony Stark is more of an asshole incarnate than I’ve previously played; he still has a lot of demons, problems, and ghosts that haunt him that really go into the psychosis.

Peter Richard Parker aka The Amazing Spider-Man
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Spidey
Wall-crawler
Web-head
Web-slinger
Arachnid

ORIGIN & BACKSTORY
Peter Richard Parker was born in Queens to CIA agents Richard and Mary Parker. While Peter was still an infant, his parents were assigned to infiltrate the Algerian based spy ring controlled by the terrorist sect known as KOBRA. The moment that KOBRA learned that Richard and Mary were double agents, they were killed by one of their agents. This agent was a man known only as the Finisher, who killed the Parkers in an airplane crash overseas and then framed them for treason. Peter went to live with his uncle and aunt, Ben and May Parker, in Forest Hills, New York. With Richard and Mary's deaths, they became Peter’s surrogate parents and raised him as if he were their own son.

Over the next 9 years, Parker grew to be extremely bright in science and became a high honors student at Midtown High School. Parker's shyness and scholastic interest often made him a social outcast and a target for bullies, primarily football star Flash Thompson.

While attending a public exhibition demonstrating the safe handling of nuclear laboratory waste materials, sponsored by the Osborne Corporation or simply OsCorp, the now-15-year-old Peter Parker was bitten on the hand by a spider that had been irradiated by a particle accelerator used in the demonstration. Making his way home afterwards, Peter was almost hit by a car; when Peter jumped out of the way, Peter discovered he had somehow gained incredible strength, agility, and the ability to cling to walls, spider-like traits that he immediately associated with the spider bite.

Believing with his new-found abilities, Peter could finally land a date with his childhood crush, Gwen Stacy, he quickly realized there was yet another obstacle to overcome. Growing up with his Aunt and Uncle, Peter had always lived modestly and as such he was missing was the money to take the girl out on a date. Encountering an ad offering a cash prize for staying in the ring for three minutes with professional wrestler Joseph "Crusher" Hogan, Peter decided this would be a good way to test his powers. Wearing a mask to avoid potential embarrassment in case he lost the match or was identified by his classmates, Peter easily defeated his opponent. TV producer Maxwell Shiffman observed his performance and convinced him to go on television with his 'act.' Designing a full costume, Peter created a ring alias, calling himself Spider-Man. Going on to win each match he was entered into, 'Spider-Man' became an immediate sensation.

Following his first TV appearance, the wrestling company was robbed, an incident that Peter could have stopped. However after being ripped off by Shiffman, Peter instead allowed the thief to escape, claiming that it was not his responsibility to perform security. Peter forgot the incident as his fame rose, but days later he returned home at night to find his Uncle Ben had been murdered. Learning the police had the burglar responsible holed up in a warehouse, Peter changed into his Spider-Man and easily captured the murderer only to discover he was the same thief who Peter had allowed to escape earlier. Filled with remorse, the last words that Uncle Ben had spoken to Peter hung over him. After a disagreement with his Uncle, Ben had reminded Peter that 'With great power comes great responsibility'. Realizing he had been squandering his new abilities on fame, Peter resolved to honor his Uncle's memory, quitting the wrestling arena. With word of the Hydra prison break, Peter donned the Spider-Man costume again but this time instead of fighting for money, he chose to fight for those weaker than himself.

ATTRIBUTES
Spider Physiology: Spider-Man possesses the proportionate powers of a spider, granted to him from an irradiated Common House Spider (Achaearanea tepidariorum) which bit Peter Parker that was apparently already mutated from prior exposure to certain frequencies of radiation and received a final, lethal dose during Parker's attendance of the exhibition. The radioactive, complex mutagenic enzymes in the spider's blood that were transferred at the time of the bite triggered numerous body-wide mutagenic changes within Parker, granting him superhuman strength, speed, toughened flesh, and numerous arachnid-like abilities.

His powers include:

Wall-Crawling: Spider-Man's exposure to the mutated spider venom induced a mutagenic, cerebellum-wide alteration of his engrams resulting in the ability to mentally control the flux of inter-atomic attraction (electrostatic force) between molecular boundary layers. This overcomes the outer electron shell's normal behavior of mutual repulsion with other outer electron shells and permits the tremendous potential for electron attraction to prevail. The mentally controlled sub-atomic particle responsible for this has yet to be identified. This ability to affect the attraction between surfaces is so far limited to Spider-Man's body (especially concentrated in his hands and feet) and another object, with an upper limit of several tons per finger. Spider-Man is even able to prevent his opponents from taking his mask off by making it stick to his face.

Superhuman Strength: Spider-Man possesses superhuman strength enabling him to press lift many tons. Spider-Man's physical strength is sufficient enough to enable him to lift and even throw objects as heavy as a big as a large car. He must also pull his punches and kicks unless fighting someone of similar or greater physical durability. Otherwise, his blows would prove fatal to a normal human being. He has demonstrated that he is strong enough to knock out people with normal durability with as little as a tap to the head. Spider-Man's physical strength also extends into his legs, enabling him to be able to jump to a height of several stories in a single bound. Spider-Man demonstrated this when he leaped over thirty feet vertically into the air when he first leaped out of the way of an oncoming car; it should also be noted that when he first discovered his powers as a teenager.

Superhuman Speed: Spider-Man is capable of running and moving at speeds that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. Spider-Man has showed to be fast enough to catch up to an accelerating car while on foot, but prefers to travel by webs. It should be noted, this car was limited due to the urban environment of New York, therefore this was a speed of roughly thirty miles per hour.

Superhuman Stamina: Spider-Man's advanced musculature produces less fatigue toxins during physical activity than an ordinary human. This allows him to exert himself physically for much longer periods of time before fatigue begins to impair him. At his peak, Spider-Man can physically exert himself at his peak capacity for several hours before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him. Several accounts depict Spider-Man as able to hold his breath for eight minutes or more.

Superhuman Durability: Spider-Man's body is physically tougher and more resistant to some types of injury than the body of a normal human. His body is more resistant to impact forces than anything else. He can withstand great impacts, such as falling from a height of several stories or being struck by an opponent with super strength, that would severely injure or kill a normal human with little to no discomfort. Spider-Man's body is durable to the point where tensing his super-strong muscles while being punched in the torso by a trained heavyweight boxer caused the attacker's wrists to break; also, Spider-Man has stated that he must roll with punches thrown by people without similar strength or durability to avoid breaking their wrists.

Superhuman Agility: Spider-Man's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are all enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. Spider-Man is extraordinarily limber and his tendons and connective tissues are twice as elastic as the average human being's, despite their enhanced strength. He has the combined agility and acrobatic prowess of the most accomplished circus aerialists and acrobats. He can also perform any complicated sequence of gymnastic stunts such as flips, rolls, and springs. He can easily match or top any Olympic record at gymnastics apparatus such as flying rings, climbing ropes, horizontal bars, trampolines.

Superhuman Equilibrium: Spider-Man possesses the ability to achieve a state of perfect equilibrium in any position imaginable. He seems able to adjust his position by instinct, which enables him to balance himself on virtually any object, no matter how small or narrow.

Superhuman Reflexes: Spider-Man's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are currently about 40 times greater than those of an ordinary human. In combination with his spider-sense, the speed of his reflexes allows him to dodge almost any attack, or even gunfire, if he is far enough away. Spider-Man has even been shown in some cases, to be able to dodge gunfire using just his reflexes without his Spider-Sense.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Spider-Man has a limited healing factor. While not on the same level as some mutants, it is sufficiently powerful enough to recover from severe injuries, from broken bones and large amounts of tissue damage in a matter of days.

Contaminant Immunity: Due to his accelerated metabolism, Spider-Man has a higher tolerance for drugs and diseases than normal humans, and he can recover from the effects of larger doses rapidly. During an encounter with the Swarm, Spider-Man was incapacitated by thousands of bee stings, but recovered in less than 24 hours. His resistance and recovery time to other toxins and diseases varies, but is typically significantly higher than normal. Spider-Man was able to recover completely from acid being spat into his eyes by the new Vulture although the extent of the damage may have been restricted due to his superhuman durability. However, Spider-Man has the normal human tolerance for alcoholic beverages.

Spider-Sense: Spider-Man possesses an extrasensory "danger" or "spider" sense which warns him of potential immediate danger by the manifestation of a tingling sensation in the back of his skull, and links with his superhuman kinesthetics, enabling him to evade most any injuries, unless he cognitively overrides his automatic reflexes. It appears to be a simultaneous clairvoyant response to a wide variety of phenomena (everything from falling safes to speeding bullets to thrown punches), which has given several hundredths of a second warning, which is sufficient time for his reflexes to allow him to avoid injury. The sense also can create a general response on the order of several minutes: he cannot discern the nature of the threat by the sensation. He can, however, discern the severity of the danger by the strength of his response to it. Spider-Man's spider-sense is directional and can guide him to or away from hidden weapons and enemies. Sudden and extreme threats can cause his spider-sense to react with painful intensity. Spider-Man can also sense and dodge attacks directed randomly or by an artificial intelligence. Using his spider-sense to time his enhanced reflexes, Spider-Man can casually dodge attacks up to and including automatic-weapons fire, provided there is sufficient distance. His spider-sense is sufficiently well-linked to his reflexes to the point that a threat can trigger them even when Spider-Man is asleep or stunned. His spider-sense has helped him preserve his secret identity since it alerts him to observers or cameras when changing into or out of his costume. The spider-sense does react to those who Peter does not consider to be a threat, such as Aunt May. Spider-Man can choose to ignore his spider-sense, and distraction or fatigue diminish its effectiveness. Spider-Man's fighting style incorporates the advantage that his "spider-sense" provides him. His body begins to produce more adrenaline after the sense is triggered, an extension of the 'fight or flight syndrome.' Even when he does not have the use of his eyes, Spider-Man can still use his Spider Sense in a similar fashion to a Radar Sense to help him see by sensing the direction the danger is coming from by listening on the loudest noise around him.

Radio Frequency Detection: Peter's spider-sense also enables him to track certain radio frequencies, which could be used to his advantage through additional hardware.

Taking major hints from the 'ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN' comics and 'AMAZING SPIDER-MAN' movies, my Spider-Man will be more updated than some of the other takes. Further influences include both 'SPIDER-MAN THE ANIMATED SERIES' and the more recent 'SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN'. I'd like to demonstrate the difference between the nerdy, awkward and shy Peter compared to the boisterous and outgoing nature of Spider-Man. This take on Peter Parker will be more of a gadgeteering genius than the one who has been presented in common media. Ideally, Spider-Man will be able to form friendships and bonds with other young heroes in this universe such as Robin or the Titans, the X-Men and the Defenders. To begin with however, Spider-Man will be just starting out, gaining a rogue gallery and developing both his costume and gear.

The Joker
The Pale Man of Gotham
The Ace of Knaves
The Harlequin of Hate
The Clown Prince of Crime
The Jester of Genocide

ORIGIN & BACKSTORY:
Due to his nature, the Joker suggested many possible origins for how he came to be. While most of these origins were strictly grounded in reality, they all contained at least some fantastical element.

Of the Joker's favorite origins was that he lived with his murderous Aunt Eunice. An abusive guardian, she washed his skin with bleach. Eventually this resulted in irreparable brain damage as well as the drainage of all pigmentation from his skin.

The most commonly accepted theory was that the man who would become the Joker had at some point been coerced into joining the Red Hood Gang. This man acted as a body double to Red Hood One and due to this, fell in a vat of chemicals during the Showdown at A.C.E. Chemical. The acid severely disfigured his skin and shattered his sanity, sending the man down the path to becoming the Joker. As the man who was the real Red Hood One was found dead after the Showdown, it was unknown if the body double killed him and took his spot or replaced him sometime during the Showdown.

A theory that began to arise in the later years of the Joker's activities was that he was actually the Pale Man of Gotham City. This more supernatural take on the Joker's past perpetuated that at some point prior to the construction of Gotham, a man had come into contact with the chemical compound known as dionesium. It was alleged that this compound transformed him into an immortal being that haunted Gotham City during the time of great disasters.

Whatever his origin was, the first sightings of the Joker began to happen during the 2002. At this time, the Joker had not yet taken that specific name and covered his face with wrapped bandages. Initially the man who would be Joker started to hunt down members of the Red Hood Gang, whilst they were in a gang war with The Blockbuster Gang. While hunting the gang, the Joker began to take an interest in Willis Todd, the leader of the Red Hood Gang. Following Todd to the place that the remnants of the Red Hood Gang had gathered, the Joker massacred the remaining members from a vantage point while disguised as a police officer. With a smoking sniper rifle, the Joker ended the reign of the Red Hood Gang. With his notorious murders growing, the man quickly gained the title of the Joker and due to concrete proof of his existence, became a larger media sensation than the Batman. The Joker confirmed his existence when at the Gotham City Fairgrounds where he revealed himself with an event that would shake Gotham — The Haly’s Circus Massacre. Individuals like Gillian Loeb lost their life during this event much to the Joker's amusement. A random massacre that was unpredictable, the Joker laughed in Batman's face before disappearing without a trace, returning to the ghost he had been before.

Nearing the end of the year 2003, the Joker reappeared once again on All Hallow's Eve, intending to use the holiday to incite mass fear and hysteria as he ignited a bomb scare by leaking information to the Gotham Gazette. This leak sent the city into chaos as the Joker warned that thirty-seven bombs will go off anywhere between one hour to twenty-four hours. As a televised journalist began to announce the warning to the city, the Joker hijacked a local news channel to make his own announcement. Smiling at the people of Gotham, the Joker told all who was watching that he was hosting a “sort of party” at Robinson Park where he intended to burn a large quantity of cash to celebrate the “end of Gotham”. Even though the Batman pushed himself to find and disable each of the bombs, he Joker is ultimately gone by the time all of the bombs were found and disabled — his antics continuing to mock Batman and his repeated failure.

Killing about nineteen people per year, the Joker would slowly build up a small gang. While building up his gang, which would later evolve into the Circus of Strange. With the gang created, the Joker would eventually try to prove that anybody could go insane with just one "bad" day. Returning to Gotham over a year to the Gotham Fairgrounds, the site of the infamous massacre, the circus claims to be the friendly replacement and as such lures innocents to their show where The Joker’s chaos soon takes full advantage of. It begins as the showcases start to murder the guests and it comes to Batman & Robin to arrive to put a stop to it and revealing themselves to Gotham for the first time in broad daylight. It is here where Joker reveals himself alongside his mutated accomplice, Killer Croc. A savage and difficult fight ensues but in the end The Joker is seriously beaten and all of the psychopaths are arrested by the police as Batman & Robin disappear. This fight would prove for certainty that the existence of Batman was true to the general public, any doubts that could be left would be gone.

After his apprehension at the hands of Batman and Robin, the Joker was sentenced to Arkham Asylum. It was here where he would be treated by a beautiful young doctor named Harleen Quinzel. It did not take long for the Joker to exploit Harleen's unstable side, reavling the Harlequin within. The Joker would seduce Quinzel into insanity and would make her his assistant. Now operating from within his cell, the Joker is slowly plotting his big return to the spot light while waiting for the prefect moment to strike.

ATTRIBUTES:
POWERS:
UNIQUE PHYSIOLOGY: Due to his chemical submergence, Joker has gained beyond average advantages over normal humans as well as further exposure has tainted his physiology.

PAIN RESISTENCE: It is speculated that the Joker's exposure to chemicals may have heightened his resistance to pain. It is also implied that he is masochistic in nature, and thus enjoys any pain received, making it an ineffective way of dealing with him.

TAINTED LOVE BLOOD: Joker's blood is tainted. It has been said that "being an avid consumer of his products, Joker's immunity to poisons has been built up over years of dedicated abuse." When a mosquito sucks the Joker's blood, it "writhes and whines, choking on tainted blood".

JOKER VENOM IMMUNITY: The Joker is immune to his own venom as well as various similar toxins.

CHEATING DEATH: The Joker has cheated death numerous times, even in seemingly inescapable and lethal situations. He has been, among other things, caught in explosions, electrocuted, shot repeatedly, and dropped from great heights, but he always returns to once again wreak havoc.

ABILITIES:
INDOMITABLE WILL: The Joker's insanity, or his frame of mind, leaves him immune to the Spectre's judgement, though warranted, as Batman explained once that the Joker doesn't actually know what is right and wrong, a crucial understanding the Spectre needs to judge. In a way, one has to know one's deeds are evil or wrong for the Spectre to judge, and the Joker doesn't. Also, both Jim Corrigan and Hal Jordan Spectres have had major problems with navigating the Joker's mind, Corrigan even managed to get lost in it and Jordan literally was blasted out of his boots to the moon when he tried.

GENIUS LEVEL INTELLECT: The Joker is portrayed as highly intelligent and skilled in the fields of chemistry and engineering, as well an expert with explosives. From his first appearance onward, he has been consistently portrayed as capable of hijacking broadcasts - usually news programs - of both the television and radio varieties.

GIMMICK GADGETRY: The Joker commits crimes with countless "comedic" weapons (such as razor-sharp playing cards, acid-spewing flowers, cyanide pies, and lethally electric joy buzzers) and Joker venom.

ESCAPOLOGY: A master at escaping prisons, cages, restraints and even straitjackets, the Joker is a master at escaping from any constraints that are inflicted upon him.

TACTICAL ANALYSIS: A schemer and a criminal mastermind, the Joker is capable of pulling off high risk exploits and heists. However he's also capable of framing others for murder and laying out elaborate schemes to entangle his foes or simply to incite general anarchy.

DISGUISE: A master of disguise in both physical appearance and mannerisms, the Joker can blend into any crowd to infiltrate unsuspecting foes or even to simply manipulate others for his personal amusement.

HAND TO HAND COMBAT: The Joker has moderate skill in hand to hand combat. Over the years it has been shown that although Batman is stronger, the Joker is faster and more agile, and his fighting style is chaotic and difficult to predict. The Joker has been known to be able to hold his own in hand-to-hand combat against Batman, however every time he is subdued by Batman, it is through physical force. However, the Joker has proven to be very skilled in the area of martial arts as well, this being proven when beating the Batman once in a fight without "cheating". However, this skill in fighting can also be questioned, due to different artists having different reincarnations of the Joker. In some cases, he is so weak, that Batman can take him down with a single punch, whilst in other cases, he has proven to be more than a match for the Dark Knight.

INTIMIDATION: Joker is adept at torturing his victims endlessly, including shooting victims at point blank, torturing people to death and beating others into submission.

KILLER CROC - Waylon Jones

VICTOR ZSASZ - Victor Zsasz

FIREBUG - Joseph Rigger was a former military soldier and demolition experts who was dishonorable discharged. Returning to Gotham he found his family had been lost in three separate building-related incidents. His grip on sanity began slipping causing Joseph to begin a descent into madness. Donning the alias of Firebug, Joe went on a crusade to burn each of the buildings to the ground when contractors began to rebuild them. Quickly apprehended, Joe was committed to Arkham before eventually being broken out. He was recruited by the Joker into the Circus of Strange where he masqueraded as a fire swallower.

MR. PUNCH - Clyde Phillips

JUDY - Jewel Phillips

HARLEQUIN - Harleen Quinzel

CHARLEY QUINN - Charles Quinzel

RAG DOLL - Peter Merkel Sr.

ACE CHEMICALS - The core asset of Bludhaven owned Walker Industries, ACE Chemicals is a chemical processing and transportation company that deals in a variety of industries. A branch of the company often works closely with Professor Hugo Strange and other scientists in chemical advancements. Its R&D head is Doctor Marc Legrande.

THE ASYLUM FOR THE MENTALLY & CRIMINALLY INSANE - Nicknamed the "Arkham Asylum" after its founder, Amadeus Arkham who started the institution in the early 20th century. It is separated into two wings: the voluntary wing and the criminal wing. In its most recent history it has had two Directors who have run the facility namely Paul Quinzel and Hugo Strange. Psychologist Magdalene Kyle works directly under the director of the facility.

CHARACTER GOALS:
Taking inspiration from 'THE DARK KNIGHT', 'BATMAN: DEATH OF THE FAMILY', 'THE KILLING JOKE', 'JOKER', 'UNDER THE RED HOOD' AND 'THE MAN WHO LAUGHS', I am planning a Joker who commands a presence, a master showman who is also a psychotic criminal mastermind. This Joker has no problem hiring a gang or having others be his muscle, but also won't hesitate to drop one of his own for pure amusement. The Joker is unpredictable, changing in personality from day to day. One day Joker could scheme and plot, the next day he could walk into the middle of a crowd and start indiscriminately killing all those around him. In terms of goals, I hope to have Joker tangle not only with Batman but other major heroes. That said he'll always have a special spot for Batman and his family. Furthermore, my Joker would be happy to attack other villains, aligning with them only if their needs suit his own. My first major arc involves Joker first attempting to escape Arkham before instead asserting himself as the king in the castle, taking control of the asylum.

“They will regret crossing her, but she will regret pursuing them so much more.”

Identity

Ava Ayala
White Tiger
The Tiger of the Bronx

Origin & Backstory

Attributes

The Amulet of the Jade Tiger – Removed from it's sacred temple, the legendary amulet is linked to a celestial spirit that resides in K’un Lun. Whilst imbuing the user with the unique chi of the Jade Tiger and knowledge of martial arts it also grants the attributes of a tiger to the user such as smell, reflexes, agility, and strength. It is said as a link direct to the jade tiger itself it can also be seen when used in unison with other fragments can serve as a gateway to K’un Lun which is more dangerous than the abilities the Jade Tiger grants through their sacred amulet.

Hand-to-Hand Combat – Despite the benefit of being the holder of an amulet of power, Ava has been mentored in martial arts previously by her brother, leading up to his death. This made the transition to using the powers of the amulet more cohesive for her.

Intelligence – While not a genius intelligence, Ava is quite astute and is dedicated to understanding more about the world and other cultures; perhaps due to her dual interests in her own culture and that the Jade Tiger originates from.

Meditation – In order to keep the precious balance of the amulet’s power and her own state of mind, Ava has been known to be adept at meditation, for if she did not find her “center” then the chances of the animistic natures of the Jade Tiger could end up corrupting her.

Physical Conditioning – Despite being a teenager, it is wise for Ava to keep her body dieted and exercised; for if it isn’t the amulet can put massive strain on the body.

The depth of plans go beyond me simply wanting to do “White Tiger” stuff, which I imagine would be a main concern. But what I have in mind here is a character that I’ve taken a lot of time looking into that whilst I’m fairly new to feel like giving a non-Avengers Academy origin by taking nods to several incarnations including the less than stellar animated series that actually introduced me to this particular identity of the White Tiger in Ava Ayala. Stories that I intend to tell will vary from a very vital plot that brings New York together in the form of The Defenders, her origin story which has massive tie-in material to our Iron Fist-centric lore, crime-fighting in the Bronx and continuing a legacy instilled by her elder brother, and of course shenanigans that fall somewhere inbetween.

| Identity |
Richard John "Dick" Blake Grayson

Alias
Robin, the Boy Wonder

Attributes
Acrobatics and Physical Capabilities - A prodigious natural athlete practically from birth, a year of training under the Dark Knight and another in the fires of vigilantism, Gotham vigilantism even, have morphed the Boy Wonder's physique into that of an Olympian, despite the fact that the teenager behind the mask is still growing. He has shown particular skill in the area of acrobatics, being able to perform aerial maneuvers not even his mentor is capable of, such as the infamous quadruple somersault. To put it simply, the Boy Wonder can run faster, jump higher, and swim longer than almost anyone in his age group.

Mental Abilities and Intellect - A gifted child before his parents' murder, Dick, much like his mentor, is one of the brightest minds of his generation, having been accepted into the Gotham Academy of Higher Learning & Arts with a near perfect score on his entrance exam. Though not on the level of Batman, he is a talented criminologist and detective, and is capable of matching wits with some of the more colorful of Gotham's rogues. He has begun the arduous task of making himself multilingual, though he can only speak English, Spanish, and Japanese fluently, while understanding the basics of Mandarin and Arabic.

Martial Arts Mastery - Like almost any non-powered human vigilante, Robin makes use of a plethora of gadgets and martial arts styles to aid in his crime-fighting antics. Whilst he's been trained by Batman in a variety of styles, Dick has begun utilizing a unique blend of Capoeira, Taekwondo, Aikido and Jujitsu to take advantage of his small stature and acrobatic prowess. Though Bruce has trained him in a wide array of weaponry, Dick has taken a liking to a pair of Eskrima sticks that he is able to conjoin and extend in order to form a standard length Bo. Gotham ne'er-do-wells have noted that the Boy Wonder is almost impossible to predict in combat.

Stealth - With his training under Batman complete, Dick is now a bonafide espionage specialist, being able to sneak into maximum security facilities such as Arkham and Blackgate with relatively little trouble.

| Origin & Backstory |
1990-2002: Origins
Born on March 21st, 1990, in Bludhaven General Hospital to the loving couple of John and Mary Blake, Richard Blake had a relatively unassuming childhood. Well, as unassuming a life as a son of a detective and former Olympic athlete can have. While Mary taught their young son acrobatics, John Blake was busy putting drug lords and human traffickers behind bars. Detective Blake soon caught the ire of both Bludhaven's criminals and a majority of his colleagues in the Police Department for his incorruptible nature. Eventually, John Blake discovered the existence of the False Face Syndicate early in 2002. It was during his investigation into the syndicate that John and Mary Blake were murdered in their home by an unknown assailant. Luckily, Dick was at school at the time and was taken into protective custody by Ellen Yin, a recent graduate of Gotham's Police Academy.

It was soon decided that Dick had to take a new name to protect him from whoever had killed his parents, as the False Face Syndicated was heavily suspected to be the culprits. His last name was legally changed to Grayson, and he was soon placed into the machine that is the Bludhaven Foster Care System. After bouncing in and out of several homes, through a stroke of luck Haly's Circus of Traveling Wonders had made a stop in the area and Dick was introduced to C.C. Haly himself, who felt a personal obligation to give Dick any home he could due to his mother's past as the best acrobat in the promotion. Though fairly unprecedented, Dick was permitted to join Haly's Circus.

It was around this time that an arrest was made in the case of the Blakes' Murder. Tony Zucco, John's partner in the force, had apparently executed Dick's parents on orders of "The Black Mask" in order to send a message. Ellen Yin soon began investigating the drug lord after his connection to the False Face Syndicate was made.

Dick soon came to find a second home at Haly's amongst the colorful cast of acts. From the death defying acts of Boston Brand to the sardonic musings of Jimmy The Clown. In fact, Dick soon formed a tight-knit circle with Raymond McCreary and Raya Vestri, who were some of the only other children in the program. They were soon booked as a trio of acrobatic siblings known as "The Daring Dangers". Though obviously still recuperating from his parents' death, Dick slowly grew to love his time at Haly's and as a performer, though he only had a few fleeting months of active performance before his world came crashing down for a second time.

2003: The Haly's Circus Massacre, Robin Rising
During Haly's annual New Year's Show at the Gotham Fairgrounds, just before the Daring Dangers' performance, Dick witnessed a pair of Sal Maroni's men shake down Haly for some sort of fee needed to operate on the fairgrounds, which apparently fell under the Boss' Territory. Though tempted to confront Haly about the ordeal, Dick was called to center ring before he had the opportunity.

During his act, Dick was upstaged by none other than the Clown Prince of Crime himself. Dazed and confused, Dick ended up blacking out. By the time he came to, Dick had quite the sight to behold. What lied before him was none other than the Batman, the Dark Knight, the Caped Crusader, whatever new nickname the press had stuck to him during the week. The two had a fairly brief conversation before Dick turned his head to confirm police sirens and turned back to discover that Batman was already gone.

Falling into foster care for a second time in as many years, Dick's stay in St. Paul's went by far faster than his previous stint. After only a week, Dick was taken in by Gotham's most eligible bachelor, Bruce Wayne and moved into Wayne Manor on the outskirts of Gotham City and introduced to not only his new guardian but who Dick initially thought was the household butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Saying Dick's first few days adjusting to his new life were awkward would be an understatement. Unaccustomed to the vastness and isolation of living in a giant estate, Dick spent the majority of his time exploring the manor's halls. While this usually resulted in Dick discovering dust-filled libraries and sitting rooms, one of his escapades resulted in him discovering what appeared to be a large metal door. Far too modern to match the architecture of the rest of the manor, Dick's curiosity got the better of him and he entered, descending a large flight of stairs to reveal something that would change the rest of his life; the Batcave.

Though it took weeks to convince Bruce and Alfred was mortified at the thought, Dick was eventually allowed to use the Batcave for training and assisting Bruce on missions via using the Batcomputer. Dick slowly grew into his role and even began conducting his own amateur investigations from the Batcave by looking into what few files Bruce didn't restrict him from viewing, though whenever the prospect of Dick joining his mentor in the field was brought up, Bruce either dismissed him as not being ready or gave him near impossible tests to prove himself. Dick's frustrations continued to grow for some months before the debut of the Firefly, who had disguised his nature as an assassin with what appeared to be a series of arsons, a fact even Batman hadn't figured out. Stubbornly, Dick demanded Bruce take him into the field, which he reluctantly accepted. This would be the first time Dick donned the suit that has become synonymous with his alter ego; Robin, the Boy Wonder.

2004: The Dynamic Duo
Though he suffered the customary initial hiccups during his first few weeks galavanting as Batman's partner in crime, Dick grew into the role in a surprisingly short amount of time. With renewed purpose in his life and the continued support of Alfred and Bruce, Dick slowly came to acceptance with the death of his parents and the Haly's Circus Massacre. All too quickly, Dick came to the realization that he hadn't attended school for nearly a year due to his unusual circumstances of either being in foster care, performing for a circus, or training to be a vigilante. Under the suggestion of Bruce, Dick took an entrance exam for Brentwood Academy, otherwise known as the Gotham Academy of Higher Learning & Arts, passing with relative ease and beginning his first year back in school that September. Granted, GAHLA was far different than the public school environment he was used to.

One can't very well survive high school, or in this case preparatory academy, without friends, and Dick Grayson was no different. Using all the social graces learned from a year in the Circus, Dick managed to engross himself in a small circle of friends that included Barbara Gordon, the daughter of a renowned police captain that spent far too much time to herself and Bette Kane, some distant cousin of Bruce's that seemed far too fascinated with his alter ego.

The most notable case in Dick's first year as Robin came at the tail end of the year with the reappearance of the Joker and the debut of his so-called "Circus of Strange". Fighting their way through the Joker's henchmen, Dick foolishly apprehended the clown by himself while Batman was preoccupied with the gargantuan Killer Croc. This would be the first time Dick ever spoke to the perpetrator of the Haly's Circus massacre alone, and while the Joker did attempt to break his psyche (and his body, once that failed) Robin managed to subdue the laughing man of Gotham moments before Batman arrived and they subsequently disappeared, leaving the Circus for the G.C.P.D. to clean up.

2005: City of Fear
Dick has mostly been helping Batman with any case that comes up and improving on his skills through continued training while simultaneously continuing his social life in his first year at GAHLA.

(Will be filled in as the RP goes on because why not?)

Tony Zucco - One of Bludhaven's innumerable corrupt police officials, Tony Zucco also serves as one of the False Face Syndicate's principal informants. To put it simply? I just want to be Robin. In a more "what am I doing with Robin?" sense, I've attempted to tie him more directly into Bludhaven in order to give him much more solid a reason to return to his city of birth if and when Nightwing were to occur and he were to decide to escape the shadow of the Bat other than "Well, it's just as bad as Gotham and right next-door so why not?"

[hider=Danny Rand A.K.A. The Immortal Iron Fist]
Identity
Daniel "Danny" Rand-Kai A.K.A. The Immortal Iron Fist

Origin & Backstory

1989-1995: Death of a Family
In 1988 Danny Rand-Kai was born to Heather Duncan Rand and businessman Wendell Rand, CEO of Rand-Meachum Inc. Danny's childhood was about as uneventful as the son of a billionaire's could be until the year he turned six years old, when his father decided to take Danny, Heather and his business partner Harold Meachum with him in search of the mythical city of K'un-Lun, though the official story was that the Rand Family and their good friend Harold were taking a pleasant vacation together at a mountain resort. Unbeknownst even to the others, Wendell Rand had been called back to K'un-L'un-secretly the place of his birth-to take up the mantle of the Immortal Iron Fist and in exchange, his family was meant to live happily forever in paradise among the immortal lords of the city.

However dark forces were set against Wendell that day, and before they could reach the safety of K'un-Lun they were attacked. Ghostly ninjas rose up from the snow to surround Meachum and the Rand family and like a corruption of the pure mountain ice itself, the shadowy form of the dark sorcerer known as Khan bled into reality before them. Khan's spectral ninjas attacked, and when Wendell proved capable of defeating them no matter the numbers they swarmed him with the enraged immortal wizard used his dark magics to bring the mountain down ontop of him, causing an avalanche that knocked Wendell and Harold off a cliff and buried Danny and his mother under an ocean of snow. The last memory Danny had before blacking out was of his father reaching out to him, thrown off a cliff by a wave of icy death.

When Danny came to, his mother had somehow managed to dig them free of the ice and was carrying him through the mountain pass, desperately searching for a way to safety. They trekked through the rocks and snow together, though eventually they began to notice they were not alone. A pack of wolves had begun stalking them. They fled blindly from their lupine pursuers through an icy haze, eventually coming upon an old and rickety bridge through what seemed to be sheer luck. Desperate for her son to get to safety, Heather begged him to run across the bridge while she held off the wolves as best she could, promising she would be right behind him. As Danny crossed however, Heather began using what was left of her mountaineering gear to destroy the bridge. Though Danny would never forget the minutes of sheer horror that happened next, some desperate force within him forced him to move on. Thus, six year old Danny Rand wound up wandering the icy slopes of the Himalayas alone, exhausted and traumatized. His last memory of that horrible period involved passing out, just in sight of a brightly burning golden gate.

When Daniel Rand next awoke, it was within the walls of the Eternal City of K'un-Lun. Its Immortal rulers had rescued him and taken him in, having been watching and waiting for his father's eventual arrival. For Danny's father Wendell was not only a native son of K'un-Lun and a man destined to be Iron Fist he was also the elder brother of the Yu-Ti, otherwise known as the August Personage in Jade, Lord of the House of Kai and ruler of K'un-Lun, making Daniel Rand-Kai a sort of prince among immortals. From that day on Danny Rand lived under the shadow of his father's past with his own future uncertain.
1995-2005: Forging of an Iron Fist

The Young Dragon-as he soon became known around the city-lived the strict but privileged life of a noble child of K'un-Lun: part ascetic monk, part scholar of lost and arcane knowledge and part warrior-in-training. The last of these was what most interested Danny, as his mind kept going back to the way his father had fought that day on the mountain slopes, and the shadowy being that had used dark magics to strike him down. As such he sought out the tutelage of Lei-Kung the Thunderer, the immortal weapon master and martial arts instructor of K'un-Lun. Lei-Kung's teachings were brutal and demanding but extremely effective, designed to be enlightening for mind, body and spirit alike and despite constant mockery and isolation from his fellow students due to his outsider status, Danny worked harder than anyone to master every task the Thunderer put before him.

Naturally though all of them trained harder than would ever be expected of children, for each of them harbored the same dream: To one day defeat the fearsome dragon Shou-Lao the Undying, a massive, reincarnating fire breathing dragon whose heart had long ago been ripped from his body and lay still beating in a mystically sealed brazier. For whoever defeated Shou-Lao and claimed his power in order to became the next Immortal Iron Fist, greatest martial artist in the world and champion of K'un-L'un. For ten years Danny trained towards that goal, honing his body into a living weapon the likes of which surprised even the Yu-Ti and Danny's fellow students. Thus when the time came for a tournament to decide who would face Shou-Lao, sixteen year old Daniel Rand-Kai emerged victorious, earning a right that most of those around him still thought would be his death sentence.

When the awaited morning arrived, Danny entered the depths of Shou-Lao's cave as the masses of K'un-Lun watched and faced down a giant, fire-breathing dragon with his bare hands. It was a difficult struggle, for Shou-Lao had the cunning of endless lifetimes in addition to his fire and the animal strength of his body, but eventually Danny was able to find an opening and grapple with the beast, covering the burning, dragon-shaped scar that fed it the mystical energies of its own disembodied heart. What came after was the most difficult part, a test of the will and spirit that came in the form of searing, agonizing pain at contact with the dragon's burning flesh and scalding blood. But Danny endured, earning a dragon-shaped brand on his chest for his troubles before Shou-Lao ultimately collapsed, enabling Danny to plunge his fists again and again into the burning brazier containing Shou Lao's molten heart to kill the beast and fuse their essences together in the same instant. Thus, with the dragon slain a new Iron Fist was born!

2005: A New Life
Despite subsequently being offered an eternal life among the people of K'un-Lun, Danny knew that his new powers and skills were meant for more than defending his adopted home. Instead he would need to return to the mortal world in search of Khan, the being of darkness responsible for the destruction of his childhood life. Following the sage advice of his uncle the Yu-Ti, Danny decided to begin his search and reacquaint himself with the world by returning to his childhood home in New York City and using the resources of his father's vast Rand Incorporated company to search for signs of Khan's influence on Earth while learning how to live in the modern world. Unbeknownst to Danny, Lei-Kung and the Yu-Ti had already begun prepping the way for their protege and a story was concocted that ensured the young Danny Rand who had died tragically in the mountains ten years ago would soon be rediscovered very much alive at the age of sixteen.

Since then Danny has returned to New York as one of its' richest teenagers under the legal guardianship of Harold Meachum's adult daughter Joy and has even begun attending school in an attempt to become re-accustomed to modern life. However, he also secretly patrols the underworld of New York City, searching its' every dark corner for news of the Cult of Khan while also trying to channel his traumas into something positive and constructive.

Attributes
Martial Arts-First and foremost despite his young age Daniel Rand-Kai is one of the greatest martial artists on Earth, taught by masters with an immortal lifetime of experience with methods that would seem impossible to ordinary men. He is a master of all of the martial arts of K'un-Lun and many of the martial arts of Earth, including styles of fighting that have been unknown to most mortals for thousands of years. More mundanely he is a master of Ninjutsu, Jujitsu, Aikido, all forms of Shaolin Kung Fu, Karate, Judo, Boxing and even informal street-fighting techniques. He has complete mastery of nearly all martial arts weaponry and weapon styles, and is skilled enough at pressure point techniques to effectively use them against superhuman opponents and even beings whose physiology is completely inhuman.

Chi Manipulation and Augmentation-due to his training in K'un-Lun, Danny is able to manipulate his chi to enhance his strength, speed, reflexes, durability, endurance, agility and senses to superhuman levels, although doing this usually takes some concentration and leaves him greatly drained afterward. As an extension of this, Danny can also sense the flow of Chi in the world around him if he concentrates, occasionally including the auras of others and subtle interweavings with other types of energy.

Chi of Shou-Lao-Thanks to plunging his fists into the molten heart of the legendary dragon Shou-Lao the Undying, Danny can call upon the dragon's immense and powerful chi and focus it into his fist. While this is primarily used for his signature Iron Fist ability, Danny has occasionally been able to utilize the Chi of Shou-Lao to heal himself and others in times of great desperation and it may have other functions as well, unknown to him. Danny's main usage is focusing the Chi of Shou Lao into his hands in order to make them practically invulnerable and capable of striking with massive concussive force. Although "Becoming like a thing of Iron" is how it was phrased in ancient K'un-Lun, the Iron Fist technique is capable of easily shattering or shredding through iron, steel and much harder and denser substances with relative ease. What's more, Danny can focus more of Shou-Lao's chi into his fists for stronger strikes and has yet to reach his maximum power with the Iron Fist.

Meditation and Body Control-Thanks to meditative exercises learned in K'un-Lun Danny is able to exercise complete mastery over his body, enabling him to control his breathing and heartbeat well enough to slow them to a state indistinguishable from death, deaden himself to all pain, greatly slow the effects of drugs and toxins on his body, go days without sleep and adapt himself to a wide variety of environments with relative ease.

Peak-Human conditioning-Danny's incredibly intensive training in K'un-Lun means that his body is trained and conditioned to the peak potential of an unassisted human, making him just short of a Steve Rogers-level of physically fit even without the use of his chi.

Acrobatics-As part of his training in K'un-Lun, Danny was honed into a highly skilled acrobat, enabling him to maneuver through environments as diverse as the mountainous slopes outside K'un-Lun, the twisted jungles of the H'ylthri and the urban sprawl of New York city with equal ease, speed and grace.

Stealth-Though not as skilled as some, Danny's mastery of ninjutsu includes training in the arts of concealment, deception and stealth.

Multi-Lingual-Danny is fluent in numerous languages and dialects used throughout China, as well as American English and Japanese.

Some Knowledge of the Occult-For someone who professes to totally lack any interest in or aptitude for magic Daniel Rand-Kai possesses a surprising amount of knowledge regarding the mystic arts, supernatural lore and arcane secrets mankind is typically not meant to know. However, Danny himself will swear-up-and-down that he's hardly an expert in such matters, instead insisting that growing up in the high society of K'un-Lun necessitates a basic understanding of such things.

Character Notes

Character Goals
I want to successfully weave Iron Fist into the Maximum Comics universe while also drawing on his lore to create stories that are well-crafted and self-aware while staying true to the character's Wuxia and Kung-Fu B-Movie influences in a way that's fun to write and to read. I may play through pre-established Iron Fist arcs, but I also want to try a slightly different take on the character than I normally use involving a much younger and more inexperienced Iron Fist dealing with a legacy and past history he doesn't yet understand that hopefully can be explored over time. Overall though I still want to collaborate with everyone to have a fun time, make something cool and expand the Maximum Comics universe for the better, especially where its' martial artists are concerned.

Greg Saunders, the Vigilante.

Attributes
None. Greg Saunders is an old man with a decent right hook and some marksman skills, but that's it.

Origin
Greg Saunders was born in New York City on a cool November day in 1941 to Mort and Thelma Saunders. Tragedy struck quickly, as just a few short months later, Mort was one of the first American soldiers to be killed in action in the Pacific theatre of war. Thelma was left to raise the baby alone, but fortunately, Mort's father Pat came to her aid. He moved in with the family of two, providing money and care.

Pat Saunders had been a frontiersman, a minor legend as a gunslinger and deputy sheriff that later turned to acting in Westerns during the early years of cinema. A rather uneventful career, it must be said, but one that would shape most of Greg's youthful imagination: Pat loved showing his old films to his grandson (he also taught him a few things about guns). Especially inspiring to Greg was a short cowboy flick entitled Vengeance of the Vigilante.

In the film, the titular hero covered his face with a red bandana and meted out justice to those who killed his family. Was it any surprise when a twenty-five year old Greg Saunders donned the same disguise when hoodlums severely beat his grandfather? The thugs had been dealing drugs and accosting women and Pat had felt it necessary to say something. For beating his grandfather and mentor into a coma, Greg - calling himself the Vigilante - dismantled the entire gang and handed them over to the police.

In the years afterwards, Greg - now running his own small maintenance shop - would don the disguise time and time again. An urban cowboy working outside the confines of the law. He even picked up a sidekick for a while, Jimmy Leong aka The Chinatown Kid. Together, they became fearsome foes against injustice in the working class neighbourhoods of New York. Their fame was local, the only tangible evidence of their existence a short profile piece in The New York Times. That, and the lives changed of those they'd helped.

Shortly after his sixtieth birthday, Greg Sanders left New York - and the Vigilante - behind. By then, he had done well for himself. He was a respected man in the community, had run a good business, married a loving wife (Marie) and raised a good son (Pat, Jr.). He retired along with his wife to Florida (her idea). She passed away a few months ago, the victim of an inoperable brain tumour.

Greg Saunders is well into his 72nd year on the planet.

He is tired.

And he just got a letter from The Chinatown Kid.

Let's just say I've got a story I want to tell.

Tracy Lawless (From Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips' Icon series Criminal)

Origin & Backstory

Tracy Lawless' early life was rough. He and his brother Ricky were constantly abused by their drunken criminal father, Teeg Lawless. Teeg acted as chief enforcer for Sebastian Hyde, the kingpin of Center City. While Tracy took the abuse and quietly hated his father, Rick loved and admired Teeg to the point that it made Tracy sick and made him hate his little brother. Tracy and Rick were arrested for auto theft when Tracy was 18 and Rick was 15. Rick went to Juvie while Tracy got the choice to go to prison or join the army. Tracy took the army as his chance to escape Center City and his father.

Lawless excelled in the army, so much so that he became a candidate for special forces training. His covert work in Bosnia led to the slaughter of an entire village in Bosnia. In Iraq, Tracy was arrested after killing four US Army officers for their mistreatment of an Iraqi family. The army hushed up the crime and deemed Lawless too valuable to send to jail or kick out of the service. After a year in a military prison, Tracy was released to continue working for special forces. Shortly after he found out his brother Rick had been killed back home. Tracy escaped from the military base and went AWOL back home to Center City.

Once home, Tracy infiltrated Rick's crew and began to figure out who killed his brother while helping the crew on the score. Tracy stole cash from a Sebastian Hyde courier upon his arrival back home. Hyde's people watched from afar as Tracy killed Rick's old crew in revenge. After discovering the true nature of his brother's murder and the pointlessness of revenge, Hyde's people confronted Tracy and brought him to the man himself. There Hyde made him an offer: Tracy would work for him as an enforcer or Hyde would kill the few people left in the world Tracy cared about. With no other option, Tracy accepted and the role of the father became that of the son.

Attributes
While he has no powers, Tracy is a former Army special forces operator and has all the skills and abilities that come with that job. He is an expert getaway driver and is an extremely street smart and expert criminal.

Character Notes

Tracy lives in the Pacific Northwest, in a large metropolitan area called Center City. With the nature of the stories, there will be just a few NPCs:

Sebastian Hyde: Tracy's boss and boss of Center City

Jake "Gnarly" Brown: A former boxer who now runs the Undertown bar. A former friend of Hyde's, Gnarly's bar is a meeting place for the criminals of Center City

Leo Patterson: A criminal prodigy and Tracy's boyhood friend. Leo is currently serving life in prison for six counts of murder.

Character Goals
I just want to do hoodrat stuff with my friends. I mean, you know what I do and what I'm capable of. I want to write good criminal yarns

Identity
Carol Danvers, better known to the universe as Green Lantern of Sector 2814.

Origin & Backstory

Carol Danvers was an accident. Seventeen years after Joseph and Marie Danvers had their first child, Joseph Danvers Jr., Marie fell pregnant for the second time and given their traditional background abortion wasn’t an option. Joseph Danvers was a contractor and young “Joe” had followed his father into the trade whilst he prepared for college and a hopefully a future career in architecture. Joe was the apple of his father’s eye. Hard working, generous, funny, and popular with the girls to boot. That’s why it struck Carol’s father so hard when, barely six months into Marie’s pregnancy, Joe was taken from them in an automobile accident. Driving back from a friend’s house one night a drink-driver had crashed into Joe’s car and killed him on impact. In that instance he had stripped the Danvers household of any and all the joy it had once had and set the tone for the as of yet unborn Carol’s life.

Carol’s childhood was loveless and cold. Her father had been an affectionate man by nature before Joe’s death but not even Carol’s first steps or her first word could provide him with more than a superficial happiness. Joseph took to the bottle early and often to dull the pain he felt about his son’s passing and the family contracting business went broke. Despite her father’s spiraling alcoholism his wife stood by him and Carol endeavored endlessly to earn his approval at every turn. She pushed herself academically and physically to prove herself worth of her father’s affections but no matter how hard she tried, no matter what she achieved, in Joseph’s eyes she would always be a distant second to the son he’d buried.

When it came time for Carol to leave for college her parents forbade Carol from leaving. The insurance money from Joe’s death had been all but burned through and her father was in such a state that he couldn’t support himself or pay Carol’s way through college. Reluctantly Carol stayed, convinced it would have been what Joe would have done, and tended bar around Boston to support her parents. Everyone in Boston knew old Joseph Danvers, they knew who he’d been once and what had happened, and they knew what he’d become. A drunk, one that staggered into the bars that Carol worked to demand free alcohol and embarrassed his daughter at every turn. Once the smartest girl at her high school, Carol worried she’d waste her life away toiling after her father’s approval and paying down her parents’ debts.

Then the Towers came down. Suddenly everything that had come before it felt meaningless. Her sense of duty and obligation to her family dissolved was displaced only with a sense of duty towards her country and the freedoms it provided her with. She gave what money she had managed to save to her mother in the hopes it would be enough to tide her parents over and signed up for the Air Force. In doing so she hoped that finally her parents, her father especially, might see she was her brother’s equal, his better even, and treat her with the regard that she deserved.

It didn’t take long for Carol to make a name for herself in the Air Force. She would regularly out pace the men on endurance tests and she was a better pilot than all of them, much to their chagrin. So when she was called up for action in Iraq it came as little surprise to her or the other recruits. She’d been ready the second she had walked through the door and had aced every simulation and test she had been put through. The real deal however would turn out to be something completely different. On only her second run Danvers was shot out of the sky by hostile fire and somehow managed to survive the crash though not without great cost.

Carol’s legs were amputated. Her left beneath the knee and her right slightly above, and she sustained heavy burns to her thighs and some of her torso. She returned to Boston, hailed by most to be a hero, but was met with cold indifference from her father who considered her injuries an inevitable consequence of her misguided foray into the Air Force. A dejected Carol broke contact from her father once and for all and recognized that his approval would never be hers and that she didn’t need it anymore. Carol found her own place in Boston and set about trying to figure out what to do with the rest of her life.

Luckily for her, Abin Sur’s crash landing on Earth took that decision out of her hands.

Attributes

Carol is a Green Lantern. Everything that comes with being a Green Lantern: constructs powered by the ring-holder’s willpower, the ability to create force fields, flight. You name it, the ring can probably do it. Where once Carol relied on prosthetic legs to get around she now uses her Green Lantern ring to construct prosthetics that are infinitely more comfortable for her to walk on, though she is careful about her use of them.

Carol is also an incredibly proficient and well-decorated pilot.

Character Notes

She works out of Boston. Was friends with James Rhodes and Nathaniel Adams in the Air Force and potentially Hal Jordan should the need ever arise/someone wish to play him. As of the IC thread, Carol will have been a Green Lantern for a short period of time and Sinestro will have assumed mentorship of her, having seen her potential to be a great Green Lantern. I do not intend to get into the different coloured/emotion Corps if only because I'd like to be involved in the game as opposed to being a self-contained corner of it. Also and most importantly Carol's disabilities are tertiary to her character and hopefully I can write her without them or her gender being defining qualities.

Character Goals

I definitely have something of an arc in mind for Carol in terms of her progression through the Green Lantern Corps, her relationships with other Green Lanterns, and her personal life. I want to establish the Green Lantern Corps as a thing pretty early on and I'll likely start with a (fairly) lengthy solo arc on that and then try to bleed into the wider universe but hopefully Carol the person and Carol the Green Lantern will clearly be characters in their own right.

James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, better known as Captain America.

Origin & Backstory
James “Bucky” Barnes was the orphaned son of a serviceman killed during a training exercise at Camp Lehigh in Virginia shortly before the start of WW2. Rather than rehouse Bucky the camp adopted him and he soon became accustomed to military life, often dressing up in his father’s uniform and finding himself in alcohol-induced scrapes with other boys around the camp. For his own good as much as the wellbeing of the sailors frequenting the bars around Camp Lehigh, Bucky was sent to England to channel his anger through rigorous training with the SAS. Little did he know that he was being groomed to be none other than Captain America’s sidekick.

For the cameras and the picture books, Bucky would be little more than a teenaged companion for Captain America that would boost morale back at home and support for the war effort. In truth his partnership with Steve Rogers was more practical than the comic books would ever let on. Bucky was capable and willing to do the things that Steve was not. He would sneak behind enemy lines unseen, slit the enemy’s throat, and let Captain America and Nick Fury’s Howling Commandos in before they had the chance to raise the alarm. It wasn’t pretty work, but it was something Bucky took to more naturally than he cared to admit.

Steve wasn’t only his partner, he became Bucky’s closest friend, and their friendship was what got the pair through the hardship they encountered. At every turn they thwarted the Red Skull and Baron Zemo and pushed the Germans back, their presence breathing new hope into soldiers that had long since considered the war lost. Thanks to Captain America, Bucky, and the Howling Commandos the Germans were on their knees and they knew it. They grew more desperate by the minute.

It was their desperation that led Baron Heinrich Zemo to launch that pilotless plane over the North Atlantic carrying enough explosives to level the Northern Hemisphere. Captain America and Bucky climbed aboard, risking their lives to defuse the plane, as it flew across the Artic Ocean, destined to unmake Western civilization as they knew it once it hit. Try as they might there was no defusing the plane and Steve, hard-headed as ever, chose to kick Bucky free from it and force the plane to detonate away from danger the only way he could: manually.

Bucky tumbled towards the icy water and watched as the explosion lit up the sky and his closest friend was engulfed by flames. As he opened his mouth to cry out in anguish he came crashing down into the water and his lungs filled with freezing cold water. The last thing he saw before he slipped out of consciousness was the blast from the explosion above him lighting up the sky like the Fourth of July growing fainter by the second.

[1945-2005: REDACTED]

It has been nearly sixty years since Bucky plunged into that icy water and for the first time since his eyes open to find himself in a hospital bed. A familiar face is sat at the foot of his bed, that of Nicholas J. Fury, but his surroundings are very far from familiar to him. He is hooked into machines that bear no resemblance to those he grew accustomed to in his time and most significantly of all his left arm has been replaced by a metal prosthetic of some sort. He raises a hand to his face to find it changed, older somewhat, and begins to panic. Fury reassures him but breaks the news to him that Bucky had begun to piece together: he’s been out for a long time, seventy years to be exact, and Steve Rogers is dead. The world is different to the one he left behind, much different, but it still needs a Captain America. In fact, it needs a Captain America more now than ever before.

And only Bucky is fit to carry the shield.

Attributes
Bucky is an expert at hand to hand combat and is a naturally gifted martial artist, has extensive training with firearms, speaks several languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, and Russian, and his time as an advanced scout in WW2 has left him one of the most dangerous assassins and spies in the world. The metal prosthetic grants Bucky a degree of superhuman strength and enhanced reaction time, coupled with being equipped with an EMP and a holographic function that can render it undistinguishable from a normal arm at will.

Character Goals

Hopefully I'll succeed in showing the sense of burden that Bucky feels upon assuming the mantle of Captain America to begin with. It's my intention that by the end of my "run" as Captain America, it'll be clear that Bucky not only considers himself as much Captain America as Steve Rogers ever was but that those around him do too. Of course, there's Bucky's past to contend with and Captain America's sudden re-emergence changes things, though things are far, far less straightforward than they appear to both the public and to Barnes and the repercussions of that will be very far reaching.

Anung Un Rama, aka Hellboy

Origin & Backstory

Attributes
Hellboy is a demon, and as such as an array of special abilities. He has incredible strength, endurance, resistance to injury, and a strong healing factor. His natural abilities allow him to be a tank on the battlefield, which is good considering he refuses to gain any formal training. While he employs a multitude of weapons on the battlefield, including a modified revolver he's dubbed "The Samaritan", Hellboy prefers to fight with his invulnerable Right Hand of Doom.

Hellboy is also has a natural knowledge of the supernatural, demonology, and magic. He instinctively knows the best way to combat nearly any threat, and his knowledge is invaluable.

Character Notes

Character Goals
I have a lot of fun ideas on where to take Red and the BPRD. He's a pulpy hero in modern times, and I love the supernatural elements he brings to the table. There are so many mystical heroes and villains across comics, that I want to bring to the forefront of the game. Plus, there are the Eldritch deities that are always lurking in Hellboy stories, and that's something we don't see enough of in comics.

“I can think at the speed of light, I can perceive events that last for less than an attosecond, I can run faster than time. What do I see when I run across the country? I see everything. I see everyone.”

Identity
 • Bartholomew Henry “Barry” Allen
 • The Gem Cities Blur
 • The Scarlet Speedster
 • The Crimson Comet
 • The Fastest Man Alive
 • The Flash

Origin and Backstory

Attributes
Created the moment the lightning struck, it echoes through all of existence and time, blurring between past, present and future. It contains the knowledge of every event, every location, every person, touching every part of reality. It is speed, it is movement, it is time itself. It is the Speed Force, the source of all speedsters' powers.

Super Speed: His primary power, Barry is able to run at superhuman speeds. As a conduit of the Speed Force, he can break the sound barrier, run faster than light, and, when under enough stress, break both the dimensional and time barriers.

Superhuman Stamina: Barry's connection to the Speed Force enables his body to withstand the effects of super speed without any grievous damage.

Supercharged Brain Activity:] It's not just his body that can move fast. Barry's brain can process information in as little time as an attosecond; he can test theories, figure out complex equations and think of the best course of action in the time it takes light to travel the length of three hydrogen atoms.

Accelerated Healing: While he isn't indestructible like the Man of Steel, Barry's injuries heal at very high speeds. Normal wear and tear damage such as scratches and bruises will heal almost instantly.

Infinite Mass Punch: Barry can focus the Speed Force's energy into one immensely powerful punch, whose density is the equivalent of a white dwarf star.

Vortex Creation: When moving himself or his limbs in a super-fast, circular motion, Barry can create powerful funnels of wind; tornadoes.

Phasing: If he vibrates his molecules at a high enough frequency, Barry can become intangible and phase through objects.

Self Sustenance: Traveling at super speeds causes Barry's body to work overtime. As a result, his metabolism is higher than that of a regular human, requiring him to continually refill his energy supply.

Genius Level Intellect: Barry is an extremely smart man, boasting extensive knowledge in science, chemistry, criminology and forensic pathology.

Character Notes
Allies, Friends and Family

Iris West-Allen: Wife.

Wally West: Nephew-in-law.

Henry Allen: Father.

Captain Darryl Frye: Captain of the CCPD.

David Singh: Head of the CSI unit.

Patty Spivot: Fellow police scientist.

Dr. Darwin Elias: Mentor and friend.

Enemies and Rogues

Eobard Thawne ; Professor Zoom: Arch nemesis.

Leonard Snart ; Captain Cold: Leader of the Rogues.

Mick Rory ; Heatwave: Member of the Rogues.

Sam Scudder ; Mirror Master: Member of the Rogues.

Hartley Rathaway ; the Pied Piper: Member of the Rogues.

Roscoe Dillon ; the Top: Member of the Rogues.

Anthony Woodward ; Girder: Muscle.

Amunet Black ; Blacksmith: Crime lord.

Michael Amar ; Murmur: Serial killer.

Digger Harkness ; Captain Boomerang: Ex-Rogue, mercenary. Dead.

Character Goals
Using the character of Dr. Manhattan and the song ‘The Ballad of Barry Allen’ as inspiration, I intend to play a Barry that’s slowly becoming more and more disconnected with the world around him, getting faster and faster, and as a result, becoming less of a human and more a pure conduit of the Speed Force. I hope to explore how this affects every aspect of his life: his friendships, his marriage, his job, and his heroics. How does he interact with a world too slow to keep up with him?

Albert Malik
Red Skull

Origin & Backstory

Attributes

Krieger Serum-based Physiology - A genetically modified serum that has engineered Malik’s body to peak human conditions and perhaps near-metahuman levels. Alongside the strength, speed, and endurance that comes with the physiology it also wields a minute healing factor as well as decelerated aging. The mental effects of the Krieger Serum are known and detrimental however as it causes exponential bouts of insanity and mania.

Hand-to-Hand - Malik is an expert in unarmed combat having been talented at a young age before developing skills for polish. He is proficient in boxing, jujitsu, sambo, silat, krav maga, and systema.

Investigation - Malik is extremely aware of his surroundings and in combination with his uncanny reflexes as well as a tactical mind can be a tough opponent for even the most proficient operatives.

Marksmanship - Whether he has a sniper rifle, sub-machine gun, or a handgun Malik can hit a target from long range effortlessly, he has an experience in combat of various lengths and is as deadly with a gun as he is with his fists or with a blade.

Swordplay - Trained in fencing by his betters, Malik is a skilled swordsman although he does prefer knives to long swords or sabres.

My name's John Constantine, and here I stay: haunted by London. And London, haunted by me.

Identity
John Constantine
A.K.A Hellblazer

Origin & Backstory

Attributes
 • High intelligence
 • Tremendous cunning
 • Deep knowledge of the magical arts
 • Strong magical prowess
 • Demonic Blood slows down aging

Character Notes

Character Goals
First of all Vertigo totally counts as DC right? Since nowadays they all have been thrown into the DC unviese anyway and with all the crossovers and such. Anyway where do I begin with John Constantine expect for that the fact that while other kids were reading Batman and marvel comics I was reading Hellblazer. John Constantine is a fascinating character not just because of how fun he is to write in his snippy, sarcastic style or the complex jigsaw puzzles of story arcs that he goes through. The reason I think he is one of the best characters in print is because of how human he is in his actions. Despite being able to out debate God and swindle demons out of immortality, he is always at the end of the day reminded that he is human. He is haunted by his mistakes like any other person and can't catch a break. While everybody else gets closure and gets to move on with their life not John he has to keep on fighting, keep on getting dragged into whatever circumstance is thrown his way.

I would like to examine that part of him a little bit more, there is this year gap upon which he just vanishes from the face of the Earth after the Rosacarnis arc. We presume he wanders and goes soul searching for a bit but we never really see what happens. I would like to explore that gap and maybe evolve the story a little bit more from there. The idea of showing how his guilt affects him and how he overcomes that and maybe helps some others along the way. Because in a world of supermen John Constantine is very much just a normal bloke who happens to be able to do some magic and that I find is pretty cool. So I think I'll be able to keep up with posting because exploring this character and seeing how everybody else explores their own characters, seems like one hell of a ride that I wouldn't mind hopping onto.

Namor McKenzie / Namor the First of Atlantis / The Sub-Mariner / Prince Namor / King Namor / 'Avenging Son'

Origin & Backstory

Attributes
Amphibious/Terrestrial Physiology Adaptation: Namor's body is attuned to underwater conditions, allowing him to withstand freezing temperatures with specialized blood circulation. He also has developed vision to see clearly for long distances and through murky or dark areas.
Namor's cross-breed heritage also means he can survive indefinitely on dry land, though water is occasionally required in medium amounts to sustain him properly.

Superhuman Physiology: As a member of the Homo mermanus race, Namor has increased levels of strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflex and durability. However, Namor's attributes are greater than any other member of his race, perhaps due to his situation as a half-breed or his extended mutant abilities.

Aquatic Augmentation: While in contact with water, Namor experiences increased rates of healing and reaction. His strength reaches its peak in the water, and it is decreased along with his other utilities when on dry land over a period of time.

Temporary Flight: Due to his mutated ankles sporting small wings, Namor can channel his propulsion into greater speeds through the wing's streamlined nature, and in the air he can sustain flight for times comparative to the amount of speed he has built up.

Expert Combatant: Namor has practised immeasurable hours of combat, in both armed and unarmed combat. He is particularly skilled with hand to hand combat and the use of a trident or a spear.

Expert Strategist: After experiencing countless battles from all sorts of creatures, including various forms of combat from humanity's many styles, Namor has developed a skill for strategy and tactics, making him a formidable military commander.

Efficient Leader: Namor has been rigorously trained in diplomacy and leadership skills, as preparation for his assumed position as monarch of the Atlanteans.

Character Notes

Character Goals
Namor, after being absent for decades from his people, wishes to right all the wrongs inflicted by the weak and angry King Byrrah since Namor's defeat at the hands of Paul Destine. He strives to reclaim his rightful throne and to continue the propitious reign experienced under Thakorr's firm but just hand. He wishes to prove himself as a great leader and military commander to his people, both the common workers and the self-righteous court. He wants to hunt down the accursed wearer of the Serpent Crown and take revenge for all the good people who had died on the day of Atlantis' destruction, and to remove Byrrah from his position - by any means necessary. He holds it as important to prevent humanity from further polluting the oceans, whether by force or preferably diplomacy - for he is not so consumed by anger that he thinks he can destroy an entire race to stop their foolish advances. However, he still despises the humans, whom he looks on with disdain and rage, and if any evil infringes upon his territory then he will see it as a priority to attack it. He wishes to find love, and perhaps to start a family, if only to make up for the decades lost living as an amnesiac in the dregs of society. Most importantly, he wants to make his people content with their lives, and to establish a working system and a magnificent Kingdom in the form of New Atlantis.

I don't want to be remembered as a beaten champion. . .

Identity
Theodore 'Ted' Grant
Wildcat
The Snyder Street Sensation
Gutter Grant

Origin & Backstory

Attributes
Hand-to-hand combat
Ted Grant is a master combatant, easily ranking among the best in the world even at his age. His favorite, foremost and first learned combat skill was and always will be boxing, and he is considered by man to be the greatest boxer to ever live, though he has mastered several other styles such as Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Hapkaido, and Capoeira. Ted has in shown the ability to read body movement and predict and know where his opponent will strike before they do allowing himself to defend against it.

Physical conditioning
Ted is in excellent physical condition, stronger, faster and tougher than most men half his age. However the constraints of time are starting to slow him down, regardless of how little he wishes to acknowledge them.

Intelligent
While being the first to admit that he isn't the smartest of me, Ted does have street smarts in abundance, while also possessing a certain kind of animal cunning. He's also always had an understanding of people, and what makes them tick. He imagines this is in some way linked to his ability to read opponents.

Character Notes

Character Goals
To write a character who's really got something to prove, who's determined to show everyone that he's still got a place in this new world. I'd love to get a lot of character interaction on with Ted, as I feel he really shines when he' working with other, younger heroes. At the same time I have more than a few solo adventures in mind for him.

(Imagine this, but with a blue domino mask)

Identity
Stephanie Carter aka Nomad

Origin & Backstory

Attributes
Stephanie inherited her father's abilities from the Super Soldier Serum. She has peak human strength, speed, agility, dexterity, endurance, and cognitive functions. Stephanie's mind is so strategically wired that she is invaluable on the battlefield. This also allows her to quickly learn combat forms and strategies at a rate a normal human being cannot comprehend. As such, she is a master marksman, hand-to-hand combatant, and strategist. Though she is deadly with firearms, she prefers to use hand-to-hand combat as well as her shield.

Character Notes

Character Goals
Stephanie Carter is a woman without a destiny in this reality. The reason she came to be is now irrelevant, and she struggles with her identity in life now. She's left SHIELD and forged her own path as Nomad, becoming a vigilante outside the system in order to prove to herself that she can be just as good of a hero as her father. If she can't be Captain America, she's going to forge her own path and make sure her name stands as the same beacon for good.
