So as far as archetypes are concerned, what are you looking for in the wildcard archetype? Any examples you could give?

Archetype: The Insect
Name: Stuart Jones
Alias: Yellow Jacket
Age: 25
Powers: Stuart's powers come from the symbiotic primordial ooze that is within his body and also is what his costume is made out of.

High speed flight: Yellow Jacket uses large wasp wings that allow him to fly at a top speed of 300 mph. What makes him different from many other flying heroes is that his aerial maneuverability is incredible and is extremely hard to catch. Trying to knock him out of the air is like trying to swat a fly with only one hand and while his wings are not tough they will regenerate if they are destroyed.

Sting Bolt: Stuart is able to shoot sharp barbs out of his body and these stingers have stunning effect to them when they pierce an enemy's body.

Stingers: His body makes barbs extend out of his body and have the same stunning effect of his sting bolts.

Sting Blades: Stuart creates two long stingers that he wields like swords and used almost exclusively for jabbing and thrusting in a style similiar to fencing. The Sting Blades are very sharp and can pierce metal, but they are quite vulnerable and can break easily when being used to block powerful attacks.

Superhuman senses: Stuart's sense of smell is ten times stronger than a bloodhound and thus allows him to smell things from far away. This also makes him able to fight enemies in the dark by smelling their position. His eye sight allows him to have a 360 degree field of vision, which makes it hard to sneak up on him in daylight.

Superhuman agility: Stuart is very agile and has agility greater than twelve men.

Enhanced durability: his symbiotic suit is made up of a material that is as hard as bone and allows to take powerful blows, but it cannot protect him from gunfire and extremely strong hits.

Way of The Yellow Jacket: Stuart has developed a martial art that utilizes his superhuman senses and agility to their potential and allows him battle multiple enemies is fast hand to hand combat. The martial art focuses on speed and agility of power and relies on quick strikes and jabs as well as using the surrounding environment to his advantage.

Weaknesses: Insect killer is incredibly toxic to him and will severely weaken him and can kill him if exposed to too much of it. Insect repellent creates a very awful smell, to put it simply someone wearing bug spray smells like pure shit to Stuart and his superhuman senses make it almost unbearable. aside from his suit's protective armor Stuart has the same weaknesses as a human.
Alignment: hero
Personality: loyal, honest, funny, determined and fearful.
Appearance: Stuart is about five feet and ten inches tall. He has bright red hair and dark green eyes. He has an athletic body that is fit for a martial artists. His suit is yellow and black and has a color design themed off of a Yellow Jacket insect. The suit is bio organic and has pads made of hard bone like substances.
BRIEF Bio: Stuart was never a man without fear or born with parents that had a great destiny for him. Ever since he was young Stuart had a fear of wasps after an unfortunate incident as six year old involving a wasp nest being dropped on him as a prank. The large amounts of stings caused him to be hospitalized and he developed Spheksophobia otherwise known as a fear of wasps. This fear caused him problems at school and in everyday life when it was warm and the insects were flying around.

As he grew older he had to learn to deal with his fears in order to try and live life as an adult. That's when he came across the primordial ooze. It said by some that all life came out of it eons ago and every creature on earth is connected to it. One day while hiking through the wild in his home state of Maine, Stuart came across a pool of the primordial ooze in a mysterious cave. The ooze seemed to almost call out to him and upon getting closer to inspect, the ooze reached out and latched onto Stuart. The ooze merged with him and in a panic Stuart ran out of the cave and unknowingly close to a wasps nest.

A wasp stung him and the primordial ooze inside of him reacted to it and Stuart felt himself change as he began to feel the wasp's fear and what it was like to be one. It was in that moment that Stuart understood that there was nothing to be afraid of and he finally understood the insects. The ooze was able form a biological suit and granted him incredible powers. The ooze inside became one with him like symbiot of some sort and with his new powers Stuart sought to use them for the greater good of humanity.
Storylines: his first story line will be him trying to see if he is ready for the challenge of heroics and the consequences that come with them.

Technically @Weird Tales' guy would also be a Wildcard since I didn't wanna get super specific with some themes. But it's basically anything not already on the list or more of a combo of several.

Just need to find that one spark that'll tie all my disparate ideas together I guess. ^^; I mean all else fails I can just dig up something old that I haven't used in a while and go with that instead, but I like to try new things so yeah. Hmmm.

If you're going with the Capt. marvel type hero still just send me what ideas you've got and we can brainstorm.

So I've got an idea for a wild card villain, but just the very basic premise so far. First and foremost I'd like to know if an idea would be allowed and maybe get some advice on this one issue I'm having. Basically, his ability is he "levels up" when he faces an opponent, or some kind of major obstacle and when he does he gets access to new abilities he selects from a "Level tree". After every battle, he'll have the level for a predetermined amount of time, shorter for higher levels and vice versa, before he goes back down to zero. The biggest thing I have, and I know this can't really be answered since there's no knowledge of what the abilities are but I'm going to ask anyway, is when does he level up? Should it be simply based on the amount of movements during a confrontation, the strength of the enemy (which would involve a whole other system of categorization ), the amount of attacks he takes, etc, etc?

Sounds like this could be something similar to Marvel's Squirrel Girl. IDK quite how her powers work exactly, but the longer she faces enemies the stronger she gets or the weaker they become. Can't remember which... I can dig it though.

Is that what Squirrel Girl's power is?

Anyway, I'm going a completely different direction, working on something for the Vigilante archetype.

Well, they are least try to justify her being able to defeat powerful opponents in her solo series... Mostly it's that she has a well-rounded powerset and is very good at thinking outside the box. That added to that fact that she's a bit less serious and more comedic than other characters means that yeah, she totally can beat Galactus by befriending him. :D

Archetype: Wildcard

Name: Light

Alias: Toon Girl

Age: 24

Powers:

Weaknesses:

  • Light takes extra damage from attacks due to her cartoon physics.
  • Light is weak to gas, poison, ext type attacks, and it doesn't take much of a substance to have an effect on her.
  • Light has an exceptionally difficult time breaking herself free of anything that binds her movement. Being encased in ice, tied down, stuck in a net, ext...
  • TDLR: Light is very easy to incapacitate for a time
  • A vast majority of her toon powers are tied to her emotional state, and most of them don't work well if she is feeling sad or depressed.
  • Light plays with her opponents instead of fights them seriously unless they make her extremely angry. If she is annoyed with someone she'll start showing Genre Savvy type of playful fighting however.
  • Light is very gullible due to her silly/playful/lazy persona, especially if she doesn't know or think poorly of someone. Shes not easy to directly turn on her friends though. She is also easy to talk down from a fight unless she is really angry.
  • Light often tries to be friends with her opponents if she thinks she can.
  • Light is unable to use Energy based weapons due to Cartoon physics, and ballistic based weapons have less power and speed if used by her. Bombs still have their full power, but a drastically reduced blast radius.
  • Light is very easily distracted by music or other fun things unless she is really angry.
  • Objects falling tend to home in slightly on Light, showing their Shadows of Impending Doom under her. Likewise occasionally Light will be hit by a falling anvil, safe, or piano out of nowhere. It probably came from a plane, probably.
  • Light is on the wrong end of the luck spectrum, and often is seen as having 'bad luck' that only affects her, especially if its bad luck that leads to slapstick.

Alignment: Hero (gullible)

Personality: Fun Loving, Playful, Lax, Intelligent, Honest.

Appearance: Appearance: Light is a 1.6 meter tall pure white humanoid figure. Her head is a large spherical shape with no nose, very large black and orange eyes, short blue hair, fin like ears, and a very very skinny neck. She has a noticeable hourglass shape to her due to her hips and chest. She has skinny biceps with large forearms and hands with pointed fingers. She wears a white dress with blue trim and a blue tanktop, the dress having an 'M' cut pattern in the front to reveal her legs, which look normal besides the bottom leg ending at a sharp point where her foot would be.

BRIEF Bio: Its not know where Light came from, but shes obviously not from this world! Although appearing in a world of superheroes was probably for the best, as she could pass herself off as some sort of mutant or alien or something and her toon-like powers weren't too outrageous. Learning this and the dynamic of the world she found herself in (As well as watching a bit too much television), Light made her way to be a hero. After all, when your on the right side of the law, your given quite a lot of freedom. Plus being able to do pretty much any non lethal thing to a baddie is pretty fun too, after all, they all need hugs! Even if those hugs sometimes break bones! Or playing wrestler, thats fun too!

Storylines: Dimensional travel, The Void, Eldridge Abominations, Toon World, but mostly shes just there for the ride.

Notes: Light is great for slapstick routines. Use her for them if you want!

When her powers were explained to me, it was "basically her chances of defeating an enemy go up exponentially the longer she fights them. Along with the additional squirrel shit." He never told me HOW her chances increased, or if it was a luck power of some kind, just that she had the potential to beat Thanos, Dr. Doom, etc..

I think I'm going to move my techno snake riding guy from Advanced Techno to the Atlantian spot and make him some traveling hero from Atlantis. Sea Snake...

As I mentioned, that's not true at all, has no basis whatsoever in anything and whoever told you that was, uh, basically talking bullshit. ^^;

Also @The Kid Lantern, there seems to be two more profiles in need of acceptance. One coming from Aro, and another coming from Marik. Just wanted to make sure that you're aware of their presences.
