JECHT
"Stop laughing, you wizard trash. Unless it's a spell to get rid of this rainbow bullshit you did to my hair, shut up until we're ready to leave!" he growled, his anger intensifying now that Valente had returned to his true form. Wizards made him angry, but blond wizards especially infuriated Jecht, as it brought back memories of his humiliating defeat back when he was a pirate and because Valente was an annoying pain in the ass. He ignored Valente's comment about biting, he didn't care about karma, Jecht only cared that Trixxtal had been injured. Jecht would not let Valente to get away with that. "I don't want this wizard in our house for longer than he has to be, "he turned back to Trixxtal, still angry about Valente's existence, "So when you're ready, we'll go to Tori's. Then I'll punish that annoying wizard for having the nerve to bite you!"

ALU
The demon walked through the field, her shoes dirty with mud and indifferent about the raindrops falling onto her clothes, unconcerned with her condition. She felt focused on her task. Up ahead she saw Zra, waiting for her underneath one of the human water shields she vaguely recalled being name "umbrella" and immediately went to join him. "Zra," she began, "I have finished reconnaissance of the city."

Her journey was more fruitful than she thought it would be. Besides people looking at her horns and clothes in confusion, the humans did not bother her or provide much useful information, but she could sense something strange about the city itself. Traces of the supernatural were hidden in surprising abundance. This meant there was a good chance the wizard they were searching for, as well as the prince, could be within the city. Kro went to investigate the city more in depth while she returned and explained this to Zra. "Have you found anything of interest?" she asked.

ZRA
" Indeed," Zra replied as he twirled the umbrella in his hands, watching the water drip from the sides with interest. The humans were definitely an underdeveloped species, weak and fragile with their shortened life-spans, but they were certainly innovative. He pitied whatever weakling who had owned this water shield previously, since now he was the rightful owner of this creative invention. He had debated on whether or not to show it off to Alu and tell her about the practicality of the retractile water shield, but there was more important matters to discuss. Instead, he simply held it out alittle further so that she was under the shield's protection. " I may have found the wizard's location. It is close, follow me."

As they walked through the muddy field, Zra began to explain. " On my search in the town, I found one of those blasted creatures, the ones created by the protector of the wizard king." He reached into his robes and brought out a collar, commonly used for a household pet. It read "NYANKO #314" and while he didn't understand the meaning of the numbers, the name was a sure sign that it was a creature from Wiz. " I subdued the creature and disposed of it, but not before absorbing it's knowledge. It seems that it was on it's way to report to it's master about it's findings. Traces of the traitor's magic has been found in this very area." He came to a stop and pointed off into the distance where a large building sat. " It came from there."

TRIXXTAL
" I'm ready right now, I was putting my shoes on before someone bit me." He grumbled as he sat on the bed to angrily pull his shoes on. His suitcase was already packed, loaded up with gifts for Tori and the grandkids more than clothes for himself, so he grabbed it and stood up, looking up at Valente expectantly. " Okay, we're ready Valente. Take us to Tori's!" But instead of getting a sarcastic answer in return, the wizard completely ignored him. And there was nothing Trixxtal hated more than being ignored. " Excuuuse me Valente, we said we're ready to go." But again he was ignored. The wizard was just there floating in the air, staring off into the distance and being INCREDIBLY RUDE. But before he could start yelling at Valente to pay attention to him, the blonde snapped out of it and turned to them with a smile.

" Actually! You know what, why not stay here for a while? No rush right!" In an instant he was gone and Trixxtal heard the television turn on from the living room next door.

" That little bitch better not be putting his feet on my table!" Trixxtal spat out, angrily throwing his suitcase on the bed to walk out to the living room. Sure enough, Valente was on the couch, stretched out like he owned the place, with his dirty shoes resting on the coffee table. " Uggghhh what are you doing! Take us to Tori's right now!! And get your feet off the table!!!" He slapped Valente's feet off the table but the wizard was quick to put them back.

" Hey, chill out okay? Let's hang out like the old times! Drink some beers, watch a movie, play Jenga, y'know, like the good ol' days!"

ALU
Alu inspected the collar and nodded. “This is good news”, said the demon, a small smile on her lips, “The wizard has passed through here, so there are bound to be clues as to his presence in the area.” She glanced towards the building. “The weather is dulling my ability to sense anything, but if we get closer, I may be able to tell if there is anybody inside.” she informed him.

She continued to stare at the building, wondering what their neck course of action should be, before she looked back to her companion. The decision came to Alu almost immediately. “We should inspect the place as soon as possible, as to not miss this opportunity. If we wait too long, the wizard may once again escape detection.”

JECHT
“What the FUCK are you doing?” he shouted, losing control of his temper when he saw Valente leave the room in order to put his disgusting feet on their table. And he did not know what a jenga was, but Jecht knew for sure that Valente had no “old times” with them; spending quality time with the wizard was the last thing Jecht wanted to do. He came from behind Trixxtal and glared at the wizard, letting him know exactly what he thought this situation.

“Hell no! And GET OFF OF OUR FURNITURE!” he yelled, gripping the couch with his hands before suddenly flipping over the couch Valente was sitting on. Jecht heard something snap in half, probably the table, as well as some shattering glass once the sofa fell to the ground. The vampire felt his anger rise and he wanted Valente out of the house, immediately. "Hurry up and take us to Protettore!"

ZRA
" Alright." Zra agreed, taking a better look at the building. Going through the front gates would be too obvious, giving the wizard a better chance of escaping before they could catch him, so there had to be another way. " Let us find a better way." He told Alu and began to walk towards the back of the building. There was a door there, and it seemed that it would be less guarded than the front gates. " I can't sense anything behind the door, we should try to enter through there."

But as soon as he stepped forward, not even close enough to touch golden doorknob, the door was pulled back and man stood there, his eyes piercing into their own. " Yes? What do you want?"

VALENTE
" Aw, what a shame, that was a nice table." Valente muttered, slinging an arm around Trixxtal's shoulder as they watched the couch topple to the floor. He had left the couch as soon as he felt Jecht come up behind him, knowing exactly what he was planning on doing. Jecht's anger was as predictable as the sun rising in the morning and simply breathing seemed enough to set him off. Valente hadn't managed to live this long without knowing all of Jecht's habits. He winced as he heard glass break and patted Trixxtal on the shoulder, knowing that that had been his favorite table. " Man ,Jecht, look what you did." He tsk'd.

But he almost forgot that he was fighting against two and barely dodged the elbow Trixxtal threw at him, breaking the hold on his shoulder, " You're the one who made him do that!!"

" Wow I was on your side here!" Valente stepped back and collapsed onto the armchair behind him, kicking his legs up on the arm. " Okay, so it's not like we have had any good times before, but it's never too late to start! C'mon, I heard about this super good television series that we can start! What's the rush?" He turned to Jecht with a pout, wondering if he was going to try to flip the arm chair too.

ALU

Caught off guard when the door swung open, she lifted her arms to prepare for an attack and defend herself. "Vampire?" she mumbled, confused as to why the wizard would be around a nest of vampires. The person only spoke to them, however, so Alu hesitantly dropped her hands to the side and observed the man standing in the doorway. Just by staring into his eyes, Alu could already since he was powerful, definitely more powerful than she was. It would be best to antagonize him as little as possible, ideally. But they needed to get inside no matter what, because now that the door was open, Alu could sense faint traces of magic inside of the building. "We...we are searching for somebody. We think he may be here or at least passed through." she explained, getting straight to the point. If this vampire did not cooperate with them, they she and Zra would simply have to figure out another way inside.

JECHT

"It's your fault this happened!" he shouted to Valente, pointing to the broken table and toppled couch. He bent down and reached for the largest shard of broken glass he could find and glared at the wizard, who had dared swing his arm around Trixxtal's shoulders. Jecht was about to yell once again for him to get his disgusting hands off of Trixxtal, but thankfully, Trixxtal shoved him away almost immediately. He smiled at the violence, but his anger once again returned when the wizard trash sat down in the armchair. Why was the wizard being extra annoying today?!

"Oh yeah?? Well, I'll be sure to watch the series without you, when you are out of the house!" he countered, storming up to Valente and swinging the shard of glass at the wizard's arm in an attempt to slash him open.

ZRA
Zra was equally surprised as Alu when the door suddenly opened, revealing the redhaired man standing behind it. The demon wasn't fast enough to notice it right away, but as soon as Alu uttered the word, Zra could smell the coppery scent of blood oozing from behind the man, the vampire. He glanced quickly at Alu from the side to gauge what her reaction to the vampire was, if there was some plan of attack they were going to do, but she lowered her arms and her stance became less defensive, prompting him to do the same. But it would have been foolish to lower his defense completely and readied his knife under his sleeve, ready to defend himself from an attack from the vampire. He had to admit, meeting a vampire on Earth wasn't surprising. Unlike the demons and the wizards, vampires didn't have a world to call their own. They were just scattered all around Earth, doing their own thing and very rarely banded together, which did make it surprising to find an entire den of vampires.

Lost in his thoughts, Zra was brought back to reality by the sensation of a gaze burning into him, raising his eyes to meet with the vampire's. His red eyes couldn't be compared to anything other than a blazing inferno, and yet a cold chill ran down his spine as they locked gazes. Slowly, the vampire broke the connection and looked back to Alu, obviously deciding that she was the best one to talk to. " I see. Well, I can guarantee that all who live here are my own personal men.Only vampires reside here, unless it is a vampire you're looking for." He said in such a way that made it seem that he knew that a vampire was the last thing they were looking for. A slow smile spread across his face as he leant against the doorframe, " Then in that case, I will personally assist you in finding him."

VALENTE
The way that Jecht swung the shard of glass made Valente wonder if he had ever been in prison before, or a street gang. Neither would be far fetched, considering Jetcht and Trixxtal were old as hell, and when you live as long as they had anything was possible, he guessed. Valente made sure to remember to ask him later when he wasn't trying to shank with a broken piece of glass.

As Jecht swung, Valente disappeared once again, the jagged glass ripping into the plush surface of the arm chair, much to Trixxtal's horror. A short cry came from the blonde as stuffing came tumbling out of the cushion. Another piece of furniture ruined. " Jecht! Stop destroying our house!" He scolded, rerouting his anger to Jecht now.

" I know right?" Valente commented, appearing at Trixxtal's side again, leaning against his shoulder, but this time Trixxtal didn't shrug him off. " First the table and now the arm chair? Man Jecht, how are you going to fix this? Oh! I know!" He perked up, nudging Trixxtal, " Good thing that really nice seamstress lives on that vacation island not too far from here. You remember her, right Trixxtal? The one who is really nice to Jecht?" The vampire's expression quickly darkened and Valente couldn't help but smile victoriously, continuing, " If only we had her number...oh wait, we do!" A small white business card materialized in his hand and he waved it lightly in Trixxtal's face, a red lipstick mark clearly visible for them all to see, " Good thing she slipped this into Jecht's pocket the last time you guys visited there, right? Oh look, it even has her personal cell phone number on it! What luck!"

As expected, the card was ripped out of his hands by Trixxtal who took a single look at it before rounding back to Jecht, " What the fuck is this Jecht? You got that bitch's number even after I said she was into you? How could you do that? I told you this would happen! Why didn't you tell me about this, you thought you could hide this from me?? I can't believe you sometimes! After all we've been through and.."

Valente grinned as Trixxtal went off on Jecht, waving the card around furiously in his face. He had been around long enough to know all of Jecht's warning signs and attack stances, but that also meant that he knew alot about Trixxtal as well, such as all the things that made him angry. And of course there was nothing higher on the list than the paranoia of Jecht's infidelity. Not to mention that a fight between the two grandpas could last a while, if not weeks, giving him more than enough time to stall until those uninvited guests had left Protettore's fortress.

ALU
“No, we are not looking for a vampire…”she frowned, but Alu was not ready to give up on their best lead just yet. While it was not the most optimal situation, the demon wondered if she could still somehow find a way to convince the frightening vampire to let them inside. “We are looking for a magic user. I sense magic within this building, which is why we were led here. Will you still be willing to assist us? Perhaps one of your men noticed something.” she asked, trying her best to speak civilly with the intimidating vampire and not look as unsure as she felt. She just hoped that she did not somehow offend him and cause them to get attacked.

But at the thought of an attack, Alu remembered that she had neglected to mention the most important part of their search. “Oh right! And a duck.” she nearly shouted, but an awkward pause followed her sudden exclamation, and all she heard was the raindrops pounding against the mud. “Ah…we are looking for one of those, too…A specific one.” she added.

“A vicious duck, most likely.” she guessed, figuring Prince Lucifel would not be any less aggressive or cruel just because he was turned into a bird.

JECHT
“What? I’m trying to get rid of the pest, and you’re worried about furniture at a time like this?!” he frowned back at Trixxtal, but instead of listening to him, all of a sudden he was acting friendly with Valente. Why was he letting him lean against his shoulder, and more importantly, why was Trixxtal letting the wizard even speak to him?! But in the blink of an eye, Valente somehow got ahold of the seamstress’ business card that he had put away where Trixxtal wouldn’t see it. “Stupid magic!” he shouted, but he couldn’t retaliate against the wizard because Trixxtal immediately glared at him with an expression that told Jecht they were about to get into another fight.

Now Trixxtal was waving the stupid thing in his face, yelling at him over it.

“The lipstick is just the logo for the shop. She’s not into me!” he denied immediately with obvious bullshit he came up with on the spot, also redirecting his anger away from Valente. Trixxtal getting bitten was the main reason Jecht became so furious, but now that he was arguing with him, Jecht hardly cared about Valente’s presence at the moment. He frowned at Trixxtal, irritated that the vampire had to overreact, like usual. “I didn’t show you, because I knew you would throw a bitch fit like you’re doing right now. But even if she was interested in me, who cares! It’s not like I give a shit about her feelings.” he retorted.

And typical of Jecht, rather than trying to end the fight, he continued the argument instead. “You should stop being so fucking jealous.” He said hypocritically, since Jecht acted nearly the same way if he noticed anyone trying to flirt with Trixxtal. “And don’t you ‘after all we’ve been through’ to me! Actually, after all we’ve been through, you should know I won’t let some dumb bitch come between us. But do you have faith in me? No! I always have to put up with this bullshit despite being completely faithful to you.”

AMPELLIO " A magic user, you say? It is rare to see one of those around here, but I will assist you in any way I can. Afterall, if there was a magic user in my ranks, I would certainly want to know." He opened the door further, inviting the two demons inside. He had faith in Valente, for he might not be the smartest person around, but if anything, his magic was powerful enough to make up for it. Placing a simple optical misdirection spell would be well within his power. And if not, Ampellio was strong enough to take these two demons on singlehandedly. Inviting them in a den full of vampires was overkill. " Please, come in." He waited until the demons stepped through the doorway and Ampellio politely took their umbrella, hanging it up on the rack beside the door. Once he was turn, he turned back to the demons with a calm smile and rubbed his hands together. " Anywhere you would like to go first? I would have to accompany around the house, of course, but you are free to go wherever you like. I'm afraid my family does not take well to strangers walking about unaccompanied." " Perhaps the kitchen?" The blue haired demon suggested and Ampellio nodded his head. " That sounds perfect. I do believe our resident housekeeper is in there. If anyone has seen anything strange, it would most definitely be him." TRIXXTAL " Don't fucking bullshit me Jecht!" Trixxtal immediately countered, stopping the crazed waving long enough so that they both could see the card better, " I know what lipstick logos look like and this isn't a logo!" The angrier he got, the louder his voice became. The business card became meaningless as it fell from Trixxtal's fingers and fluttered to the ground, forgotten now that there was a new subject for Trixxtal to focus on. " Are you lying to me now? Do you have something to hide from me?" The business card had been enough to set him off at first, but now it was Jecht's demeanor about the whole thing that was really pissing him off and pushing his anger further. " You might not care about her feelings but you're definitely not turning her down! Taking that," He pointed furiously at the offensive card on the ground, " is basically an invitation for her to hit on you! Ugh! I can't believe you don't understand this!" Listening to Jecht trying to defend himself only made things that much worse, specifically when he said a word Trixxtal absolutely hated. Jealous. That was always Jecht's 'go to word' whenever they fought. First it had been that Trixxtal was jealous over Cepheus, over Mariemaia, over Jenna, over Clara, over Jonathan, over pretty much everyone on the entire fucking planet. " I wouldn't have to get jealous if you never gave me a reason to be!" " That's right," The wizard said from behind him, now seated in the slashed up armchair with a plate of sandwiches and chips, " What about the one he named his dog after!" The mere mention of Cepheus made the hairs on his arms stand up on end. Dead or not, Trixxtal still hadn't gotten over his hatred for that bastard, and he had to be reminded of it everytime he saw that stupid small dog Jecht paraded around. His fingers were shaking as he angrily wiped the tears out of his eyes, refusing to cry over something as little as this, " If you really loved me you wouldn't keep doing this to me over and over again! Every year theres something else and I'm getting tired of it Jecht!!"

ALU
“Thank you.” She replied, cautiously stepped through the door alongside Zra. Alu felt relieved that they would not have to break in. The thought of fighting this particular vampire scared her more than facing off every other creature in the building. She did not want to be around him for much longer, but for her prince’s sake, she would face any danger.

“The kitchen it is, then.” she agreed, wondering if Zra suggested such a random place because he was hungry. But as they were lead to the kitchen, Alu silently followed behind the vampire and focused on trying to figure out just where she was sensing the magic from earlier. The building felt strange and it was like magic lingered everywhere, as if it was within the walls itself, rather than concentrated on a person. They turned the corner and Alu nearly stopped walking out of surprise.

In front of them was a strange object, moving entirely on its own. “What is that?” she pointed to what looked like a mop that was mopping the floor by itself.

OLIVIER
He just didn’t have enough time to clean the fortress all on his own. The spirit knocked out a lot of the hired help, so Olivier had to figure out a way to keep things clean and get some food cooked for when the boss’ uncles arrived. Since the kitchen had less help at the moment, he volunteered to help them, but he charmed a few objects to clean the fortress to help the other workers make the place spotless. A few mops were mopping the floor on their own on the bottom floors, some vacuums cleaning the carpet a few floors up, and dusters were in places at random. He wished he could just clean the fortress himself without relying on his magic, but food was more important, because Olivier had experienced firsthand how annoying vampires could get when they were hungry.

“Yo Olivier!” called out one of the cooks, “We just got a call from Marcellina. She wants to order some food for her human friend for some sort of welcoming dinner and snacks for Valente when he gets back.”

“Aight, we can hook them up with some of the extra food we cooked for the vampgramps. I think there was a roast duck in the oven almost finished, give em that.” He suggested. They always cooked double the food whenever the boss’s sons wanted to eat in case they started a food fight. But whenever they cooked dinner for Jecht and Trixxtal’s visits, they always made sure to make triple food, because with them there the chance for something to go wrong became significantly higher.

JECHT
Trixxtal’s jealously always warred against Jecht’s wrath and after about 300 years of both friendship and dating, it had only gotten worse. Jecht found it incredible how Trixxtal still managed to keep finding things to get mad at him for all the time and he just rolled his eyes as more accusations poured out of the vampire’s mouth. “I’m not giving you reasons to be jealous. You imagine things to be jealous about, and all on your own! I’m not doing a damn thing wrong.” He insisted, before narrowing his eyes at Valente for mentioning Cepheus. He still missed his old friend but because Trixxtal hated him, Jecht couldn’t even talk about him without Trixxtal becoming angry. Valente would pay for bringing his dead friend and his precious poodle into this fight, later. His gaze returned to the other vampire, who looked just as mad as Jecht did about the mention of Cepheus, despite their different reasons for it.

“I do love you but I’m not putting up with bullshit, so I don’t care if you’re getting tired of it! I’m tired of being accused of cheating because you can’t control your imagination.” He hissed, and let out a ‘tsk’ when he noticed tears forming at the corner of Trixxtal’s eyes. He honestly hated seeing him cry, but Jecht hated losing arguments even more.

“And are you about to fucking cry? Really?” he sneered, then bent down and reached for the fallen business card. He shoved it back into Trixxtal’s hands, making sure the lipstick was face-up out of spite. “Well how about you keep this damn card, since you’re acting like a pissbaby over it, and use it to wipe your tears. But if I need a job to get done, instead of just calling her, I’ll just have to visit her now in person since someone can’t handle me having a damn phone number.”

AMPELLIO
The vampire lead the two demons into the kitchen, unsurprised to find Oliver preparing food for Jecht and Trixxtal's arrival. For that reason he was momentarily confused by the demon's questioning glances, ready to point out that this was just Oliver preparing dinner and that it was nothing special, but then it dawned on him that is was indeed special, atleast for the demons.

" Oh yes," he commented dryly as he stared at the charmed broomsticks sweep past him, " I said it was rare to find a magic user here, but not unheard of. Anyway, Oliver here hardly has enough magical energy to classify as a wizard. He doesn't even stand close to the kind of wizard you're looking for. Ignore him." He instructed, waving his hand Oliver's way.

A quick thought flashed through his mind, a dark option where he sold Oliver out as Valente and let the demons take him back to their domain. It wouldn't be enough to fool the demon king, but it would give him and Protettore enough time to relocate elsewhere, somewhere out of the demon's reach. But it was only a passing thought and Ampellio dismissed the idea almost immediatly. Better to let these demons believe that he and everyone else knew nothing about Valente and let them leave on their own.

More importantly, the smell of roasted duck filled the kitchen and Ampellio directed his attention to the oven. Blood might have been the only thing that satisfied his hunger, but human food had it's own aesthetics and Ampellio had come to enjoy all the different kinds from all over the world. " Would you two like to stay for dinner?" He asked politely, hoping they would refuse so that Valente could return and place more powerful barriers. These two demons somehow had found themselves at the fortress, perhaps by sensing Valente's magic, so what was to say that more wouldn't come in the future?

TRIXXTAL
The business card crumbled in Trixxtal's hands as his fist closed around it, shaking in anger. He hated crying infront of Jecht almost as much as Jecht hated seeing it, but there was no stopping the tears from spilling down his cheeks. Jecht's words had only added fuel to the fire and he wasn't about to let this arguement drop now, or let Jecht get the final say. " Yes I'm fucking crying, you bastard!! Atleast I care enough to cry. One of us should show our emotions in this shitty relationship and it's sure as hell never you!" The anger had completely taken control of his mind and he didn't even think about the words that were coming out of his mouth. He just wanted Jecht to hurt as much as he was.

" You can be so inconsiderate sometimes! I fucking hate you." In one final act, Trixxtal threw the crumpled card on the floor and shoved past Jecht to go to his room, slamming and locking the door behind him.

VALENTE
When the argument felt like it was drawing to a close, Valente decided then to make his escape. Jecht was so preoccupied with Trixxtal that he wouldn't notice him disappearing, and after all, using the blonde vampire as a distraction had been the plan all along. Right before Trixxtal threw the business card, Valente hurriedly casted a spell and found himself on the beach, still holding his plate of chips. He was still on Jecht and Trixxtal's island, just not close enough to the house where he wouldn't hear Jecht stomping over to kick his ass, and found a retractable beach chair to sit on. There was a small part of him that felt bad about all the damage he had caused between the two vampires, but this was better than having them breathing down his neck, asking why they weren't at Tori's yet. And speaking of that...the demons were a problem as well. How had they found the fortress? Had he left any clues? Where there more coming???

Sighing, Valente reclined further back in the chair and let the soothing waves from the ocean calm him. Afterall, he could worry about those things later...

ALU & OLIVIER
“Hmm…” she mumbled unsure, narrowing her eyes at the magic user and not at all planning to ignore him. He was definitely suspicious and Alu was determined to find out more about him. She noticed the vampire try to take their attention away from the man by asking if they wanted to stay for dinner, but before she even thought of an answer, Alu froze at the sight of the meal that was being taken out of the oven. “Is that a duck?!” she yelled, hysterical at the sight. Losing her cool and throwing caution out the window, she instantly tore her gaze from the duck and gave an ugly look to the magic user, instantly suspecting him as the wizard they were searching for. “Wizard! Did you cook his majesty?! ”

“You think that roasted duck is royalty? It’s just a normal duck but…Ah…are you…you know, okay?” he asked, concerned for her health, wondering if she had lost her mind.

“I will be okay once you answer my questions. How did you do that? Was it magic?” She asked with sudden coldness, pointing to the charmed brooms.

“You wanna know how I was cleaning…? Yes, I used magic.” He answered, confused as he stared at the angry looking guests and completely forgetting her strange remark about the duck. But after a few moments, suddenly, his eyes brightened as if a lightbulb went off in his head and he smiled. “Oh…! Ohhhh I see, now I understand why you are curious. Wait just a moment, please.”

The janitor snapped his fingers. In the distance, a mop and bucket suddenly stopped their cleaning and began floating towards the group. Olivier grabbed the cleaning items, one in each hand, and gleefully shoved the mop into the woman’s hands and the bucket into the man’s. “Here you go! Welcome to the custodial staff!”

“W-w-what is the meaning of this, insolent wizard?!” shouted Alu as she dropped the mop onto the floor like it was on fire, earning a puzzled glance from Olivier.

“Eh? Aren’t you new janitors?” he asked the woman, wondering why she looked even madder than before. Olivier would have been honored to be given a mop, cleaning was so fun! These new janitors were so strange.

“Of course not. Why would you even think that…?” growled the woman, looking at him as if he was the worst thing she had never laid eyes on. It just made him feel even more confused and slightly uneasy, especially with the other man glaring at him too.

“But, why else would you want to know how to clean, if you aren’t a new janitor?” Olivier finally decided to ask, then glancing at Ampellio with bewilderment, wondering why he had bothered to bring these two to the kitchen if they weren’t here to help him.

“Of course I care, I’m just not fucking weak like you, crying over every little thing!” he yelled back vehemently, bad memories instantly flashing in his mind; the time Trixxtal had been kidnapped, one of the few moments he let himself cry in public, and of all the times he cried in secret, alone. It made Jecht feel even angrier. Trixxtal didn’t know a damn thing, he didn’t understand at all!

"You can be so inconsiderate sometimes! I fucking hate you."

He stiffened at the cruel statement, not moving an inch as the vampire stormed away and locked himself in his room. He felt paralyzed by Trixxtal’s parting words and his anger vanished, as if cut down by a blade, leaving Jecht only feeling pain. “Hate me, huh…?”he mumbled, a bitter expression crossing his face. Frowning, Jecht walked in the opposite direction of Trixxtal’s room and approached the pet carrier he had left Cece in earlier. “Hey, Cece.” greeted Jecht in a subdued voice, unlocking the door and scooping up the puppy into his arms. “Trixxtal and I fought again.” He spoke dejected, looking at the animal as if she would respond back, “I wish you were the real Cece. He used to help me.” A lone tear slid down his face and he quickly wiped it away, in case one of the blond assholes decided to show up.

The puppy seemingly oblivious to Jecht’s despair, Jecht felt at a loss about what to do now, as he certainly couldn’t go to Tori’s place with Trixxtal. Jecht didn’t want to face him anytime soon, but he did not exactly feel like being alone. So his only option was….

“Valente.” he growled, glancing around the room and wondering where the wizard scampered off to. He felt so upset that he would rather hang around Valente than Trixxtal, which was really saying something. But he still didn’t want him roaming around the island wherever he pleased, so not knowing where Valente was really bothered him. “Where is that bastard?” he sighed, frustrated, running his fingers through his hair. But then Jecht suddenly froze. He just realized something. His hair. His hair was still the colors of the happy fucking rainbow.

AMPELLIO
Sometimes, Ampellio was amazed by the idiocy of Protettore's subordinates and wondered how they ever got anything done. Between the weak members who couldn't even fight off a spirit to the rambunctious children, to his absent minded enforcer to the fumbling grandpas, it was a miracle that Protettore managed to get anything done. In Ampellio's time ruling the Giordano family, everything was formal and professional. He'd never let any of these hijinks befall his fortress, and he would definitely never employ someone like Valente Mancini to help maintain it. But change was constant, if Ampellio had learnt anything from his lifetime on Earth, and now he accepted all of this in stride. The Giordano family still remained at the top tier of the vampire community, so as long as it didn't fall, Ampellio had no qualms. However, if only he could get rid of the useless people here...

" They're not our new cleaning crew Olivier," Ampellio replied, speaking up for the demons, " They are our guests and are here to look for someone important to them so I am showing them around. I would appreciate it if you didn't try to recruit them into your line of work." He said evenly, turning from Olivier to the demons to leave him to cook dinner. " As you can see, there is no one here you are looking for. Would you like to move on?" If he timed it right, he could get these demons up and out of here before Protettore had a chance to leave his brother's office. Hopefully Izel kept his ritual going just a bit longer.

VALENTE
It was still night time and the sun hadn't risen yet, which meant that Valente couldn't completely relax as he lounged on the beach. The darkness allowed Jecht to move around the island freely, as opposed to when the sun was out, and would give him the opportunity to sneak up on Valente if he got too comfortable. Honestly, those vampires were like damn ghosts or something, never making a sound when they walked. And judging by how angry Valente had left Jecht, he was sure that the vampire wouldn't hesitate to kill him if he had the chance. But it wasn't like he meant for him and Trixxtal to have a really bad fight! All he wanted was a distraction so they could forget about going to Tori's for a while. If anything, all of this was their fault for being so stubborn!!

Just as expected, not long after settling down in the beach chair, Valente sensed Jecht's presence approaching. Or more, he felt his anger rolling off him like steam. He knew instantly that this wasn't going to be good. With a snap of his fingers, a pair of sunglasses materialized on his face and he waited until Jecht got closer to turn around and lift the shades up comically, " Hiya Jecht, fancy meeting you here! Wanna play some volleyball or somethin'?" Expecting Jecht to throw the nearest solid object at him was a give-in and Valente instinctively moving to dodge it was like second nature. He let whatever it was Jecht threw crash into beach chair as he ascended into the sky, levitating just out of Jecht's reach. " Ahaha, oh wow, you're really mad today! Not pulling any punches are you?"

OLIVIER
"Oh...they aren't?" he pouted, immensely disappointed. "What a shame..." he mumbled. New recruits would have been a great help since many of his coworkers were unconscious and the vampire grandpas would be visiting soon. Oh well, that would be just more cleaning for him! The thought made him feel cheerful again.

He bowed formally to the three of them and gave the demons a bright smile. "Well, I hope you enjoy your tour, sir and madam!" he bid farewell, returning back to his duties.

ALU
The demon was looking at the wizard, who was apparently named Olivier, in a new light. Alu had realized that Olivier was a complete idiot. Now that she had tempered her anger, she could clearly see that the man was clueless and did not match the target's description at all; both in appearance and personality. But her suspicions had only slightly eased, perhaps this wizard was being used as a decoy? Maybe he was putting up an act? She gave one last nasty glare to the retreating Olivier before nodding back to the vampire. "Yes, let's move on." she agreed. The farther away from that duck roaster, the better.

JECHT
"Cece, go sniff out the stupid wizard for me." he demanded the small poodle, who barked happily as he set her onto the ground. However the dog stood in place, wagging her tail, staring at Jecht expectantly. Jecht sighed; he should have known better than to hope she would listen to him when he did not have any dog treats on hand. He would have to look for Valente the hard way. For whatever reason, even with his enhanced senses it was difficult to track down the stupid wizard, which drove Jecht absolutely crazy. Sensing his heartbeat, finding his scent, hearing his movements...if the annoying blond used magic sometimes Jecht could not even rely on his sight to find him! He hated every time he was bested by Valente.

But the wizard was extra annoying about spending time with them earlier, so Jecht had the feeling he was still hiding around the island somewhere. And sure enough, after scouring the beach, he found Valente sitting in a beach chair wearing sunglasses in the middle of the night like the loser he was. "There you are, blond bastard." he scowled, crouching down and grabbing a conveniently placed boulder.

"Stupid wizard!" he yelled, lifting the boulder and throwing it at Valente. But to his chagrin, Valente dodged the hit and was now laughing at him in the air. "Turn my hair back to normal, now!" he shouted, crossing his arms as he glared at Valente.

IZEL
Standing outside the salt circle he had placed Lord Anastasio in, Izel sliced his hand with a special knife that had symbols etched into the blade. After the droplets of his blood fell onto the salt Izel set aside the knife and used his uncut hand to grab his nearby tome. "Lord Anastasio, please be patient while I recite the protection spell! No spirit will be able to harm you once I complete it!" he vowed with determination.

Izel carefully recited the spell and out of the corner of his eye saw his blood rapidly spread through the circle. Once every grain was dosed with his blood, the circle glowed and Izel felt relieved. It was working! A moment later, the amulet he gave to the vampire also began to shine the same crimson color as the circle.

AMPELLIO
With one idiot out of the way, Ampellio silently prayed that they wouldn’t run into anymore. If he could keep the demons away from Ryuu and Ryo, Marcellina, Vencentio, Anastasio, Izel….infact, if he could keep the demons away from everyone, that would be just great. It was a sheer miracle that Valente left right before the demons arrived and Ampellio didn’t want to test that luck any longer than he had to. He didn’t even know if Valente was aware that the demons were here and the last thing he needed was Valente arriving out of nowhere.

“ Great. Follow me.” He said with a smile and lead the demons out of the kitchen. It seemed that Marcellina had actually done something as the halls were clear of unconscious bodies, allowing them to move freely with-in the fortress. “ Excuse me for asking, but why are you searching for a duck of all things? Do demons have an unfounded amatide complex that no one knows about?” Ampellio, of course, knew the exact answer, even lived under the same roof as the person who caused it, but he wanted to know how much the demons knew about the situation, or how much they were willing to disclose.

ZRA
“ Well….” The demon started off, looking to Alu uncertainly, “ All we can say is that this duck is very important to us. It is important that we find him,” He trailed off warily, “ ….it, soon.” He corrected himself, hoping he hadn’t given too much away. The only species that should know about the Prince’s disappearance should be the wizards and demons alone, but Zra wasn’t sure how much the other species knew about the situation, or if they had chosen sides in this conflict. It was best not to say anything too revealing for now.

AMPELLIO
“ Ah, I see. Well, I hope you find the duck you’re looking for soon.” Ampellio smiled sweetly, turning the corner sharply. “ Here we have the main room, where most of our members relax, but it seems empty at the moment.” Because all of them are recovering in their rooms, he finished off in his head, deciding whether or not the spirit’s attack had been a blessing in disguise. “ I am not sure where all of our members went…maybe its lunch time?” He wondered out loud, flashing a smile to the demons to show off his pointed fangs. “ Would you like to come back at another time, when there are actual people here, or would you like to look around some more? You’re welcome to do so, but I don’t want to waste your time when you obviously have more important matters to attend….to…” His sentence was cut short when one of the demons, the one with blue hair, suddenly bolted from the room, running down the hall as fast as he could. Honestly, Ampellio wasn’t used to being surprised, but he hadn’t expected the demon to make a run for it like that. He turned his gaze to the remaining demon and looked at her expectingly, “ Well, I wonder what that was about.”

ANASTASIO
“ Wow Izel, this is amazing!” The young vampire said with excitement, amazed at how the amulet was actually glowing like Izel said it would! Because of Valente, Anasatio loved magic and loved watching him preform it. But this was something totally different. Izel was a vampire like himself, who shouldn’t possess magic like Valente, and yet here he was, in a magic circle!! It was amazing!
At that moment, the door to the office open and Protettore walked in, his eyes darting straight to the magic circle on the floor. An awkward silence filled the room as Protettore stared at the circle and Anastasio and Izel stared at him. Finally, a disappointed sigh left Protettore and he began to shake his head, “ I’m going to skip the what and go straight to the why.”

“ Izel said that it’ll protect me from the evil spirit haunting this fortress!!” Anasatio explained, turning to look at his brother with excitement and wonder in his eyes. “ I asked if he could do it for everyone but he said it only works for one person….but isn’t it cool?!”
It took a second for Protettore to reply, but when he did, he sounded just as fed up as before. “ Valente has dealt with the spirit already, there’s no need for this.” He said, crushing their dreams with a single sentence. Immediately Anastasio’s excitement left him and he looked down at the amulet with a frown, “ Oh….”

Before anyone had the chance to say anything else, the door slammed open once more, but this time, a man Anasatio had never seen before stood there. Maybe he was a new hire? There were a strange pair of…horns on top of his head, and his hair was an eccentric blue, but more than that, there was something off about him that set him apart from everyone else. Much like Valente, he had a different aura around him. Protettore obviously felt it too because Anastatio watched his brother immediately tense up as he glared at the stranger.

“ Who the fuck are you.” He demanded, his anger rising at an incredible rate. Anastasio was hardly around whenever his brother got this angry, so seeing Protettore like this made the hair on his arms stand up. Worriedly, he turned to Izel and whispered to him in a low voice, “ Izel…is this the spirit you were talking about?”

ZRA
Suddenly running off like he had wasn’t his plan, nor his intention, but when Zra had picked up a faint use of magic in the fortress, that wasn’t coming from the kitchen, he had to follow it. It could have been the outlaw wizard trying to cover his tracks, or further hiding himself in the fortress. So without him even realizing it himself, he had taken off in top speed to catch whatever it was using magic. But to his surprise, the trail had lead him to a room which he kicked open and found three vampires inside, one of which was inside a magic circle of some sorts. Okay, so not the wizard he was looking for, but atleast there was magic being performed….however small it was. Zra felt the foreign feeling to regret seep into his bones as one of the vampires, perhaps the most threatening one in the room turned his attention onto him.

With nothing else to say, Zra spoke the truth. “ I am Zra. I am a demon looking for an outlaw. The red haired vampire let me and my partner inside to inspect the premises.” He said with the most even voice he could. His gaze shifted back to the magic circle, inspecting it. Just as he thought as soon as he saw it, it was not the magic of a wizard, nor was it powerful enough to turn a demon into a duck. “ When I sensed magic I had to follow it. I apologize.” He returned his attention to the main vampire, expecting to be forgiven, but instead, he was greeted with a fist to the face. Demons were strong in their own right and a simple punch from a human would be nothing but an ant bite to them, but this vampire held so much strength in his punch that Zra stumbled backwards and fell to the ground. Having never been hit like that in his life, Zra remained momentarily stunned and confused as the vampire moved to loom over him.

“ I’m going to give you until the count of three to get out of my fortress, you trespassing son of a bitch.” The vampire warned, cracking his knuckles loudly. “ One.”

VALENTE
“ Your hair?” Valente questioned, actually having to take a second to think about what Jecht meant. Then, just like that, everything clicked together like the world’s most amusing puzzle. “ Oh! Aha, your hair! I can’t believe I forgot about that! I was starting to think that your hair was always like that, ahahahaha!!” He doubled over in laughter. Sure enough, when he looked back at Jecht, his attention went straight to the hair, making him laugh even harder, “ Ahaha, holy shit that’s so funny! And you fought with Trixxtal like that! Aha, no wonder he dumped you!” His laughter continued the more he thought about it. If he had known turning Jecht’s hair into a rainbow would be this funny when he did it, he would have made it a permanent feature.

“ Okay, okay, okay, I’ll stop now.” He chuckled, wiping a tear from his eye. “ I’ll turn your hair back to normal, but first, let me take a selfie!” His phone materialized in his hand quicker than even vampires could see and he appeared beside Jecht just as fast, smashing their faces together to fit in the screen of the phone. The flash went off and then Valente was gone just as quickly as he had appeared, safely out of Jecht’s reach before he knew what was happening and get his hands around Valente’s neck. Safe in the air and out of reach, Valente triumphantly reviewed his selfie, or as he would call it, his masterpiece. The myth about vampires not appearing in mirrors or photographs was complete bullshit because the stunned/shocked expression on Jecht's face was just too PRICELESS not to be real. The rainbow hair only improved the picture. “ You’re lucky I don’t have social media Jecht, or else I would post this on insta! Look at us, we look like best friends!”

But Valente knew that he could only push his luck so far, and if bringing up Trixxtal and taking a selfie were strike one and two, he did not want to stick around for strike three. With a simple wave of his wrist, the color in Jecht’s hair dissolved into it’s usual dark locks and his hair was returned to normal. “ There, all done! Are you up for playing volleyball now?” he said, looking down at Jecht with a smile.

☆Alu☆
She sensed the surge of magic that flared all of a sudden, but was startled into staying in place when Zra surprised her by the way he swiftly ran off. Regaining her bearings she glanced at the vampire she had been left behind with. "I...sensed a sudden surge of magic, so I assume my partner did as well." she explained, however, now that it was over Alu could no longer pinpoint the exact place it had been.

"He must have run towards it. Perhaps the magic we sensed was from that...ah," she paused to try to find an unoffensive term for Olivier, "Magic user? Yes, the magic user from the kitchens again."

Alu then frowned as she remembered their host's previous words about getting in trouble if they wandered around the building unaccompanied. "I must find my partner before we cause any more trouble for you." she told him. The vampire still unnerved her but he had been polite and shown great hospitality to them, yet Alu had already caused a scene earlier with the idiot in the kitchen and Zra had now run off on his own.

☆Izel☆
Izel felt crushed when Lord Anastastio's brother proclaimed that his amulet was unneeded, but did not let that bring his mood down. "Ah, Valente is so powerful to have rid the evil spirit so quickly! But just in case the spirit summons its allies from the underworld, Lord Anasastio will still have protection with him." he explained with pride, but then frowned. "Oh, I should have prepared for something like this early, please forgive me for not thinking far enough ahead for your safety, Lord Anastasio."

He would have continued rambling to the brothers, if it were not for the fact that a man burst through the doors. Izel watched with wariness and confusion while Protettore dealt with the strange horned man.

"It seems like a different spirit, possible even a demon, I have seen pictures of horned men tempting pure souls with darkness. Be wary Lord Anastasio, you have such a pure soul. Oh, but I suppose with your brother here you have nothing to worry about! He is more powerful than anything and I have no doubt Lord Protettore will banish the spirit demon back into the darkness." he replied, his whisper not quiet at all, giving a thumbs up to Anastasio.

As if on cue, Protettore punch the intruder in the face. Izel looked at his leader in awe and whispered back excitedly to Anasastio, "See! He just attacked that ghost, as if it is corporeal. Lord Protettore is truly amazing! You both are truly reincarnated gods..!"

☆Jecht☆
Anger seethed inside him as he glared at the phone in Valente's hands. "I don't care if you keep that shitty picture, just keep it away from me and everyone else." he scowled, completely fed up. The only reason he did not lose control of his rage was the fact that Valente finally released his hair from the rainbow spell.

He gave the floating Valente a cold look, not returning the smile, but he made no move to attack him again. "Fine." he agreed tersely. He had the choice of either being alone, going back to Trixxtal, or enduring Valente's presence. Unfortunately Valente seemed to be the best option but if Jecht got the opportunity to smash his face with the volleyball, then all the better for him.

"How do you play volleyball? All I know is that there is a net and you stop the ball from hitting the ground or whatever."he asked, feeling a bit calmer now that Valente was offering him a distraction from his fight with Trixxtal.
