People do that most places in the US. The Happy Holidays thing was figured out by marketing companies wanting to broaden the market for Christmas shit.

Yeah nobody anywhere gets offended when they hear Merry Christmas. The exceptions are the laughingstock of our species and nobody should take them into account.

I'm not American, but it's two words... Who gives a shit? A person's beliefs must be pretty weak if they can be shaken by the mention of a couple of words. An entire thesis isn't capable of even ruffling the foundations of my values, so why would two words mean a thing?

That said, I consider the commercialization of Christmas to be disgusting in general.
