Morven “Never indeed.” Other than the women who went against him during the vampire rebellions of the 1700s, but Morven remembered that Alistair outright refused to keep them for 'questioning' and killed them on the spot. Sometimes he took an arm as reparations. More merciful than the fate that the men opposing him faced. It was why the ancient sought peace between the Kingstons and the Blackmoores – Alistair did too, even if his family did not, simply because of Mira's presence; her gender. That would be his downfall in the end. Morven motioned for the girl to head off in whatever direction she wanted to and, despite herself, smiled. “Surprising. I do have a lot of children, that might be why. Picts were never gypsies, though – they arrived in the Isles quite a bit after my time.”
Adelisa smiled and started walking in the direction of a drug store. She looked over at Morven and said "then you may know my mother? If not that's quite alright. My mother... she was amazing, quite like you. Your strength kind of radiates off of you, if that's anything to go by." She looked up at the sky as she walked and said "though she probably hates the person I am today" she mumbled to herself. Her mother hated people who hurt people, and Adelisa fed from people hurting them in the process. She despised it, but she had to do what she had to do. She looked back down and said "knowing Theo, he's hiding somewhere not even his 'family' knows. Only a select group of people knew where he was and even then... they lived with him." She shook her head, scratching the back of her neck.

Or maybe it was "go get a towel." Finally noting the girl's blatant wound as she flickered in and out of sight, Klaus turned to leave the scene. Mira rested her hand instead on the girl's knee--if only to assure herself she was still there when she disappeared--and gave her a moment of silence to process things on her own, for better or worse. Then she finally spoke, and Mira pursed her lips. Although soft, she knew what needed to be said, and the sooner the better. Like ripping off a band aid, it was better done without hesitation. "You're a vampire, Jenna," she stated, still speaking slowly. "You'll be okay. You don't have to hurt anyone. I'm glad you came here because we can help you." Klaus stepped back around the corner, making a point to keep his distance as he handed Mira a few items: warm towels, a medical kit, extra bandages. Then he moved away again, giving them space. "Can you hold this to your shoulder for me?" Mira asked, holding the towel out to her.

Béatrix: Trixy watched the exchange between Mithias and Alistair. She wondered what kind of skills this rogue had, he claimed to know quite a bit, and where he had learned them. Trixy was an investigator herself before meeting Alistair. It was always a personal thing, picking up leads on crooked supernaturals that needed dealing with, killing based on her own twisted moral code alone. Béatrix made it no secret that she was silently judging Mithias, watching his movements and reading into his words. He claimed to be more than willing to fight with and for them, let him prove himself on the battle field. Trixy poured herself another drink, wishing that she could feel drunk, it was more a force of habit than anything. Jareth: Jar kept his eyes downcast as he walked. Being such a young vampire, in the grand scheme of things that is, the sunlight still had quite an overwhelming effect on him. He would have to find himself a little trinket to take home within the hour. The smell of vampire was thick in the air that day, he wondered if Theo’s attack had anything to do with that. All that fuss over one lass… Jareth shook his head in disappointment. Although, he must admit that he is curious to see this Adelisa -wondering what it was about her caused Theo to act so brash. Jar shrugged his shoulders, thinking she must have quite the paradise between her thighs. Why else do men bother with women?

Mira blinked and her eyebrows furrowed together. She often forgot the implied state of health for a vampire. "I suppose many think of it that way. But..." She shrugged. "I guess I've found life after death. I'm sure you will, too. "But first, let's make sure we stop your bleeding. Then you can clean up and we can go from there." She was thoroughly curious about the chain of events that brought Jenna to her doorstep covered in blood, but she was also confident that she'd learn about it along the way. Besides, she knew the new vampire would have questions. So she just popped open the kit to make sure she had enough bandage for her shoulder. The shirt was ruined beyond repair as far as Mira was concerned, but in the way, so she said, "I need to take your shirt off, but you can keep yourself covered with the towels. Is that okay?" she asked before continuing with the care. She gave Klaus a pointed look, and he sighed and rolled his dark eyes. "I'll be upstairs," he said before disappearing from the kitchen again. Upstairs he went, where new scents found him. Another not-Kingston and one belonging to Praetor. He scowled at the guest bedroom where the foreign scent came from, and made a point to leave his own door open so he could watch the hall.

Béatrix: Trixy's lips curved up slightly when Alistair asked her to make him a drink. "A regular bar keep tonight, aren't I?" she asked with a chuckle in her tone. "Keep the drinks flowing and the assholes outside." She reach up into the bar and pulled down a a wide wine glass. She mixed a healthy amount of white rum, blood from a bag, and seltzer together and offered in the Ali. "Vampire's Weakness." she gave him the name of the drink, one of her own creation. "When should we head out, and where to?" Trixy then asked, getting back to business and in a more serious tone.

Adelisa looked at Morven for a second before grabbing the small note from her pocket and handing it to her. My Dear Adelisa, It seems you've escaped, as I predicted. You now have to look for my... special trail. Good luck. The first clue: your first outing with me. Of course, it's not going to be the exact place, seeing as you probably escaped to a different place; but an equivalent. I found you. Theo "He can disguise his scent, his ability, so tracking him via that would be much easier." She felt a little uncomfortable with Theo recreating the past, something overtly disturbing about it. Yet, she knew he was always disturbing. She looked back at Morven with a stony expression.

The well armed rogue took the phone. "Thank you. I expect a trap as well. Unless you have a computer with net access in the bar... I'll be back shortly. Don't go anywhere." Stepping out he vanished into the night. Back on his hidden motorcycle, Mithias had well... a computer. Connecting the phone and running some hacked police software he came up with a map of the phone's whereabouts for the last multiple days. Simultaneously searches were run on the numbers the phone had called and where those phones were located at the time of the call, but the results would take some time to come back. He'd get a text. Until then, he'd hold into this phone. The kidnapper-slash-torturer might call again. About twenty minutes later, Mithias reappeared at the Tortuga. Shifty-eyed, he entered, then found Trixie and Alister Still at the bar. "Look" He came over, holding a flat-screen phone. These are the locations frequented by your Adelisa. I suggest we take caution in patrolling these areas. They could be where Maria is kept, but they could also be irrelevant. Our enemy may expect us to be looking there. I will have more information soon, but my software takes time to run its iterations. I will keep you informed." Seeing Alister and Trixie looking unsettled, he continued. "Let me start at this location, by the docks. I will not be discovered. I suggest you two stay together, if you are planning on going out to investigate."

Mira offered a laugh at Jenna's first comment and assured that she was okay with removing it, assisted her in taking off the shirt. It provided the access she needed to tend to the wound. And although she typically wouldn't for an older vampire, she thought a newly turned one would need disinfectant for the wound. "This'll sting," she warned before applying and continuing on to stop the bleeding. Jenna finally spoke up as Mira was binding the shoulder, and she paused in her work to look at her. "Ambush us?" she repeated, digesting the information. The word triggered her memory of her conversation with Klaus: the Blackmoores had been ambushed and one kidnapped by rogues. He did say a couple got a way... Her lips pursed together as she realized her mistakes all at once: she had been blind, stubborn, and naïve. If what Jenna told her was true, the rogues weren't a Blackmoore problem alone any longer. She picked up her work again, her tone cooler now. "Who's we? Do you remember who turned you?" she asked.

She laughed softly at the melodramatic comment. "He's an idiot, but a powerful idiot. Theo, I mean. Alistair seems... different to say the least. Well, anyway, it's not far. It's right over ther-" She looked at the drug store she once past without a second glance with a shocked expression: it was completely destroyed. The windows were shattered inwardly and the shelves littered the floor along with its supplies. There was a body pinned to the wall that faced the window and writing, but by the distance they had to it she couldn't read it. Adelisa's heart dropped to her stomache and she started walking faster. She wanted to scream, she wanted to yell out for help, but there was no helping this situation. She noticed how the body of the store clerk was positioned and it only hurt worse. He had one hand on his stomach and another covering his mouth. His eyes were wide open and his legs were spread apart, blood coming from his... spread legs. Adelisa paled at the sight and her memories came back to her as did the feeling of dread. She sped faster toward the disaster and could clearly read the writing on the wall: it said the words "you are mine". She ran too fast, tripping on her own foot and falling on the glass.
~~~
Theo sighed and called in one of his informants, a squirrelly little boy with blonde hair and big doe eyes. Theo said "do you know if my path has been set?" The little boy nodded his shaky head and Theo grinned maliciously. "Perfect" he said before looking the little boy in the eyes. "You will be something great, Jeremy. Something powerful and magnificent. Just stay with me, child, and you will be great." Jeremy nodded and scurried off with a small smile. Everyone admired him, but they hadn't known the monster he truly was.
Béatrix: Trixy noticed how Alistair kept stealing glances at her and blushed inwardly. Her porcelain skin maintained its pallor, however – it always did. Although it seemed odd for him to keep looking at her, surely she looked like shit, covered in a healthly dosing of dirt and blood. Maybe that’s why he kept looking. “Béatrix, are you tired yet? It’s been a long day – a long week." Ali asked her while Mithias was out. What a loaded question… Was she tired? Physically she was not; most vampires didn’t feel fatigue, unless they overused their gifts. She was a bit mentally drained, since when did she find herself capable of the emotions she felt that night? She felt both more herself and less like herself than ever, all at the same time. The internal changes were exhausting, but she would never admit that to anyone. She must appear to be strong and guarded, and remember who she is. Madame Vengeance. Wolfsbane. Head Executioner. Béatrix raised her cerulean eyes to meet his and held his gaze “A weapon never tires.” She said to him, knowing that her acting and deception skills would never let her words sound as hollow as they made her feel in that moment. From the outside she was tempered steel, hardened by might and battle, but she was molten within. How many more strikes until the blade that was Béatrix de la Croix shattered? And whose downfall would that truly be? A mere vampire reduced to a million pieces, or an entire city smothered by smoke and ash... She looked away from him when he mentioned Adelisa, rolling her eyes in irritation. “That child reminds me much of a mosquito.” That was the only thing Trixy had to offer about the rogue girl. When he changed the subject, she was glad for it. “Steal your kills? You practically hand them to me.” She chuckled, returning his refreshing playfulness “And you haven’t even seen me at my prime, I fight best alone.” Hell, she had to fight best alone, how else could she have survived 6 centuries as a rogue assassin? Jareth: Before he truly began his hunt, Jareth dropped by a familiar place. When he wasn’t spending his time writing songs, playing with chemicals, and torturing innocents, he spent his time practicing another art form – tattooing. Jar worked part-time in a human run tattoo shop called the Ink Exchange, under one of his many nicknames. “JRock! Where ya’ been, man?” called an excited male voice from the back of the shop once Jared walked in. The scent of blood and ink and patchouli oil clung to the air with grace. The hum of a tattoo gun caused tangible vibrations all around him. Jareth flashed a deadly gorgeous smile “Stixx! How the fuck are ya?” A human male with a crown of ginger dreads rolled his chair from around the corner of his booth. “Pretty good man, called it quits with Tonya, turns out she was just as much of a slut as you predicted." Jareth nodded “Don’t let it get to you too much, bro, that’s how they all are.” Stixx shook his heads, causing the dreads to swing back and forth. “Yer touched, boss.” Boss, yeah. He might only work there part-time, more like whenever-he-felt-like-it-time, but he was their best artist. How could he not be, given his supernatural gifts? “Did I get any big appointment requests?” Jar asked. “Ya man, check the book.” At that, Jareth walked behind the desk and hefted the appointment book onto the counter with a loud thud. He flipped through the pages until he found the most recent entries. There were a few requests for trendy foot tattoos and tramps stamps, he rolled his eyes in dramatic disgust – when would they finally get it, that he was above those things? His red pen of dismissal X-ed out any appointment that he deemed unworthy, until one caught his attention. It was an upper back piece, but that wasn’t what grabbed him, it was the design that was requested that caused him to literally drop his pen.
Adelisa wanted nothing more but to fall apart, but her expression stayed blank and her body language showed a numbness that wasn't there before. She hadn't even recognized her own voice when she said "I know where the next clue is." She hadn't noticed the glass in her knees and palms, it was irrelevant at this point. She shook her head and said "he's an idiot for going out of order... unless..." She remembered what he enjoyed doing on their outings, reliving the night she was turned, and cleared her throat to keep from letting the wave of emotions catch her. "He really knows how to woo a girl" she said in a soft whisper, but it came out so hoarse that it was... animalistic. She zoned in on the man's hand over his mouth. She was being taunted by a man who would've had a lobotomy if he was institutionalized way back when. Adelisa smiled sardonically. "It was his game, he would reenact the night I was turned. After every outing. This" -she waved her hand at the clerk's corpse- "is his clue. We've got to go back to the Tortuga... but behind it." She looked around, noticing lack of people this morning, and said "do you have a matchbox handy?" She looked over at Morven and smiled, though it seemed a little forced. "I do not want anyone seeing such a... gruesome sight" she said, not even a flinch or a wince in her body language. She was much too used to Theo's cumbersome tactics.
Mira finished as Jenna answered her questions, but she stayed kneeling beside the new vampire. "Twenty," she repeated, more for herself. She would have to check with Klaus--or a Blackmoore, unfortunately--to check that number with the ambush. She started putting away the supplies, her expression still. "You keep saying 'they.' Can you give me anything more than that?" she asked eventually. She wasn't particularly hopeful, but Jenna was her best lead now. This information would be important for the Blackmoores too and--ugh. Her nose wrinkled at the thought, but she supposed the two families would have to work together. Especially since humans were getting dragged into it, murdered and turned for these mysterious rogues. "You should stay here for little while," she added. This girl would have a life she'd have trouble separating from, however, and she added quickly, "For your protection." This wasn't a total lie, but Mira wasn't so quick to trust either. Really, she would prefer having Jenna around if only to keep an eye on her.
She was left alone. In some ways it was a relief to not be tortured continuously. But at the same time the isolation was it's own form of torture. It left her alone with her thoughts. Now that her hunger had abated her head was clearer, and she was able to see what she had done. The young male vampire looked ghastly, his face permenantly fixed in an expression of pain and horror, her throat slashed open, nearly seperating his head from his neck.. She hated seeing it, having to look at what she had done in her blood-lust. Shame coursed through her, guilt weighing her down. For a brief moment, she had been the monster that humans thought all vampires were. Maria started to cry softly, her tears glistening down her cheeks. She barely noticed the sting of the salt on her open wounds anymore, having gotten used to the constant pain. She could still taste blood, both his and her own. It sickened her and she tried to spit it out, but to no avail. Her mouth was too dry. She needed water or some kind of drink, but didn't hold out any hope that she would get any from her gracious host. She found herself wondering again why he was even bothering to keep her alive. Obviously he wanted this girl back, but what was stopping him from killing her now? He had already set up the terms of her release, if he killed her now he would still get what he wanted. And Alistair and Lucian would not stop til he was dead either way. Luican... where was he right now? Looking for her? Or had he forgotten about her already? Moved on to someone else? It pained her to think of such things. What they'd had, although so briefly, had been strong it was hard to believe he would be able to move on from her so quickly, but the isolation, torture and heartache was messing with her mind and emotions. Her limbs were sore from being restrained for so long, her body wearing down from the stress it was under. Whatever the Goblin had given her had made healing slow and painful. She wanted to go home... she wanted to be with Lucian... wanted to see Alistair... wanted to feel safe... As always Maria expressed her feelings the only way she could, through her voice. Since he had left her mouth ungagged she was able to sing. The song that came from her was full of heartache, a haunting melody that would break the heart of anyone near, at least those who had hearts to break. song
At the name, Mira's frown furthered and then she nodded. "The Blood Family. Thank you," she said. It was terribly cliché, and she sighed. She'd have to discuss the newfound information with her family and eventually the Blackmoores. She wondered if they had sorted out the kidnapping business yet. Her eyes flickered up toward the second floor; perhaps Praetor had learned something during his outing. "I'm glad you can you can remember this." Then she stood with Jenna, giving her the space to adjust to her new balance. Then when Jenna humbly asked for a couch, Mira laughed and waved her hand dismissively. "How about a room with a bed? I'll get you some clothes to change into, as well, and you're free to use any of the bathrooms to bathe." As she spoke, she gently rested her hand on the girl's back to direct her toward the stairs where they would ascend.
Béatrix: Sometimes, without even meaning it, Trixy could hear what her family members were thinking – especially if the thoughts were associated with strong emotions, like love. “I could never shoot you, Ali” she whispered to him, and she meant it. She might be a cold-hearted killer, but she murdered based on her own moral compass, the arrow of which would never lead her to Alistair. “I will the head to the one that’s close to downtown.” She said to the group before heading upstairs to shower off the blood and dirt. If she was going to walk around in the daylight, amongst humans, she had to at least somewhat look the part. Béatrix opted for a black lacey skirt in lieu of her usual ostentatious leather garb. She was going more for the goth girl look, and not so much the vampire assassin. After fastening her guns in their hidden hip holsters, and her dagger along the middle of her back, she headed out for her destination. Passing a few bars and a tattoo shop, a certain scent caught her attention. Putting her thoughts aside, she kept walking; she had a mission to tend to. Jareth: JRock closed the appointment book, his curiosity more than piqued. He’d make sure he was at the shop tomorrow to meet that customer. With that, he headed for the door. “Leaving so soon?” Stixx called from the back. “You know me, places to go and people to see. I’ll be back for an appointment tomorrow, though. See ya, man!” Jareth called back and pushed his way through the front door, a bell jingled to indicate his exit. Jareth walked down the sidewalk and whistled as he scanned the streets. It wasn’t long before a certain figure caught his attention. He only had to see her periphery to know that the strong vampire scent in the air belong to her. And damn, what a view from behind. From the way she walked, she was obviously on a mission of some sort - most likely one against his own family. Béatrix de la Croix, the head hunter herself, walked in front of him. A normal vampire might be afraid, but not Jareth. She wouldn’t know his face, or of his involvement with the Blods, and he was perhaps the only family member aside from Theo that would be immune to her mental manipulations. Jar decided his best course of action would be to approach her with confidence, what did he have to fear, anyway? Once he was close enough behind her, his aimless whistling changed pitch, and he even began to sing. He chose the lyrics carefully, wanting to grab her attention quickly. “They say you’re the baddest girl around. You take your men and then you shoot. them. down.” The last three words given a special dramatic flair, as only Jareth could pull off and still sound alluring. It worked, Béatrix spun around on her heel and met his gaze with icy blue eyes. He couldn’t help but notice the curiosity in them. “But your body’s got me thinking twice, your reputation do not matter with those eyes.” Jar continued singing in a quip. Joking aside, he meant it. He had seen pictures of the once rogue assassin-turned Blackmoore, a rogue as new as him had to know whom they had to fear in the world. Pictures didn’t do her justice though, she was a sight to behold, and his mind couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to have her… “What an honor to meet one of the legends of my own kind.” He said, leaving his words vague, as to not draw suspicion from human onlookers. “Your reputation precedes you, in more ways than one.” he said with a wink and a lustful twinkle in his eyes. She laughed a little and looked him straight on as she said, “You can turn off your charm, my days as the Madame are over.” Jareth ran a hand through his mess of silver and black hair and gave a coy half smile “All due respect, Madame Vengeance… I may be young, but I am smart enough to decipher a lie when I hear one.” Béatrix raised an eyebrow at him and her lips rose in the faintest smile, that’s when he knew that he had her hooked.
Adelisa looked at the lighter in her hand and closed her eyes. She had to remind herself that this was not because of her, but her heart told her otherwise. She heard the slight flick of the lighter from her own hand and opened her eyes so to see where she was going to throw the lighter. It would be a faster fire if gasoline was involved, but this was impromptu and Adelisa was not going to stand around waiting for such an idiotic plan to work. With a flick of her wrist, the lighter went from her hand to hitting the man's shirt to a stack of shelves scattered beneath the corpse. She turned away from the slowly spreading fire and to the girl, a stony expression adorning her features. "Let's go before someone sees us" she said softly, her heart racing at the thought of their next stop. She didn't want to relive those horrid memories as she did everytime she was close to someone, but this was not just for her anymore. It was for someone she didn't even know.
