Yuki, having wiped out several AI controlled Hi Mocks, just floated there, deactivated Beam Sabers in hand, using the wreckage to mask the presence of her Gunpla. This was a Battle Royal, and they probably had a set number they where looking for, with that in mind she decided to simply wait it out and watch every one else fight and move on that way.

Plus this gave her a prime opportunity to see what every one else had cooked up, and really, she was more interested in what every one else had come up with more then actually fighting.

As seemingly everyone else launched, Chuck simply stood staring at the monitors to see what people were deploying. Looked fairly common overall, lots of the obvious stuff. He also wondered why they'd drawn lots right then and there if nothing had come from it and why the teacher insisted in calling simple things grandiose names and acting as though they were rare privileges. Really, he wasn't liking what he was seeing much. All the...overblown-ness of it all and seemingly everyone else not even bothering to be terribly creative with their gunpla in favor of just going for the already established high end, popular stuff.

Granted, the Zeong wasn't exactly an obscure mobile suit and wasn't typically seen as weak. And modding a Geymalk into a notZeong wasn't terribly original, but it was still better than a lot of what he could see. His thoughts were interrupted by a large warning sign demanding all remaining pilots launch, and he looked around to see he hadn't been the only one to wait and see what they were up against. With a shrug, he placed his GP Base and Axis Zeong and launched without a word. He always felt kind of weird saying the whole launching bit. If it'd been some sort of private booth like the early stuff he might've done it but in public it was...nah.

Of course there were a few people lying in wait, targeting the places where they knew launch ports popped up to get easy kills. Couple Strike Freedoms, a couple Kshatriyas and a Full Armor Unicorn, with simple custom paintworks. Chuck was thankfully prepared thanks to a John Bull Gundam deploying ahead of him and being subsequently reduced to not particularly large chunks. Considering all five focused fire on single targets, they were probably in league. Considering they then turned to a different launch port to focus down a Serpent next, they were definitely not very smart. Sure, it assured them kills but it also let other targets slip. Like Chuck.

"Come on guys that's not cool, what the hell. You're not even being clever about it" he said, more to himself than anyone else, as he opened fire with his eight reactor-fed mega particle guns placed all over the Axis Zeong's body, plus all 10 barrels of its beam machineguns, making sure to split targets evenly to maximize damage dealt. The Strike Freedoms were the first to go, as their beam shields couldn't completely cover them while they tried to fire back. Both the Kshatriyas and the FA Unicorn managed to cover themselves with their I-Fields, but were reduced to simply staying put trying to block the consistent stream of shots coming from Chuck's unit.

This was when Chuck noticed something strange. See, after the 7th Gunpla Battle World Championships particle limits were hard-coded into the system to force battlers to actually watch what they did in battle rather than mount as many high power systems and weapons as they could. Considering all of the Axis Zeong's weapons were wired to its generator there should've been a noticeable level of drain firing them all, to prevent him from just kind of going full blast all the time. Well, his particle levels weren't going down. Like, they kind of were but not in any significant way compared to the huge amount he had available.

The school for Gunpla Battle was ignoring the rules implemented for balance after the prior ruleset allowed people to exploit particle mechanics to victory, turning battles into whoever could mass the most particles at eachother. It was ridiculous. "WHAT THE HELL! YOU DON'T WORK PARTICLE LIMITS?! WHAT THE CRAP GUNPLA INSTITUTE ARE YOU?!" he screamed as he just kept firing his multiple guns at the machines that managed to keep their I-fields up by the same token, leaving them deadlocked. But only for a little while. Mobile suit-mounted I-fields weren't terribly reliable until Late UC, after all.

It took until the massive technological advances and much-improved generator output of units like the Crossbone X3 for MSes to reliably mount effective, constant-use I-fields which still had a bad tendency to overheat. Something Unicorn conveniently "forgot". Or maybe they actually did forget. Gundam was pretty bad about keeping its own canon in line after all, what with the constant Mobile Suit Variations and side-stories that gave the OYW ridiculously advanced technology that would've better fit in Zeta era or even further down the line. But yes, eventually all 3 I-field equipped units overheated and lost their defense, after which they were instantly destroyed.

Only...hundreds left to go? Maybe? Was it a last man standing type of deal? A timed survival event? A numbers game where the battle would end at a specific number of survivors? Chuck Ford wondered all this as he slowly and carefully making his way across the battlefield, making sure to take plenty of cover and avoid obvious sniper line of sight. He kept track of the action around him with a conveniently-placed, real time strategy-like minimap in his HUD, almost absentmindedly commanding his creation to shoot down targets that came into a large designated killzone of his own. It was simple enough with four mono-eyes and all those guns.

Chisame couldn't help but sigh this was exactly why she preferred straight builds over customs all the gimmicks come into play than. Still she supposed that all things considered it mattered little to her she could care less about what fancy things they had on their suits over time things will get hard yes but in the end gimmicks will only take you so far. She was easilly proving this by "sniping" at people with the tactical arms in its bow configuration. Hiding behind the debris she was currently showing that skill matters more than fancy specs as she took out a strike unit who probably was overloaded a bit with sheer amount of equipment it had on it.

Haruna sighed she was not one for large combat of this nature still she would do the best she could. Right now though she was currently playing it very careful going after weakened enemies for quick defeats. Using the beam zanbers she cut through mocks and defended against shots against her from the enemies. It was a free for all and it was quickly shaping up to prove her right that she was not cut out for these type of battles.

"Tropheaum" the tower of bodies of the kills of the roman soldiers after a battle. It was said its how they determined the kill count and which soldier did the most during the battle. If that was the case Verdi thought than its more than just a random free for all battle with over the top dramatics. Rather they used a word not many knew or cared for to throw people off. With a sigh Verdi cut down yet another exia suit it was like people were dead set on recreating the show. Seeing the suit she was currently using what appeared to be a straight Masurao build used by Graham Aker during his stint as Mr.Bushido. With a sigh she held out her long and short gn beam sabers before cutting down the suits that was dashing at her not really moving from her spot. This was going to take awhile hopefully her hunch on why they called it a tropheaum was right because otherwise her stand was for nothing.

Kyo fought the unicorn until it was sliced apart by the Faith's shield in one final clash between the two. "hehe, was adorable, even used the NTD system and everything." they said before looking around. Spotting a fleet engagement between NPC and a fuckton of debris in the middle, most likely hiding people. Maneuvering while slicing apart two players who were in red frame astrays, Kyo moved to the position behind the zeon. "FOR ALL OF YOU WHO ARE PLAYING DENMARK, CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED. YOU CAN FIGHT OR DIE HIDING IN THE RUBBLE LIKE THE COWARDS YOU ARE." Kyo shouted over the open communications channels, taking aim with the twin buster rifle.

Ten seconds passed as those who could monitor them would see a pollution of plavasky particles around the gunpla, incoming beam attacks being nullified to negligible damage. After the ten seconds were up, the twin buster rifle fired. With a blinding brilliance, the plavasky particles around the gundam were sucked inside of it, the beam growing large and becoming a ray of death. It punched through both flagships and wiped out all of the moks in its path. With the bea firing for the better part of ten seconds after the initial warmup. This gave Kyo enough time to swing it, obliterating both flagships and their escorts in the ensuing explosions from them. Judging from secondary explosions of great magnitude, Kyo had also caught several players in the beam. Holstering the weapon between the wings, Kyo readied themselves for the fight coming towards them.

There was a blip which suddenly appeared behind Kyo's mech. It was then a foot planted itself in the back of her Gundam's head at near light-speed, and then flew straight off into the distance faster than her eyes- or sensors- could keep up with. The mech in question was very, very red though. Taking advantage of the open comms, a Japanese pilot shouted in.

"SHOULDA USED THE COVER, DUMBASS!"

While normally, the Dybile Gundam wouldn't be able to fly because of gravity, in space there was no such restriction- just point the rockets behind you and fly around at almost physically impossible speeds, kicking people in the back of the head. This speed was what made Dybile such a threat to the Federation and ZOO forces during its use in Gundam Beast- speed so great it interfered with the sensors of mechs and was quite literally impossible to follow with the naked eye. Combined with a RADAR-absorbent paintjob he'd gotten from Uncle Go, it made the machine undetectable at anything but point-blank range.

"Output set. Weapon two, Ripple Laser.", Iggy mumbled, configuring the megasonics to a wide, cone-shaped projectile. There was little point in setting his OPTION drones at the moment, seeing as he had other combatants happy to finish his work for him. Oddly, in spite of the name, the weapons worked just fine in space. Iggy had never really understood why that was, but he wasn't complaining, either.

Blazing through inky blackness of space and weaving through projectile fire, he took potshots as he passed through clouds of combatants, getting an arm here or a leg there, but only downing a couple of mechs, at best. True, he wasn't exactly racking up points, but in a survival match one had to keep their priorities straight- a large quantity of crippled machines would be far simpler to deal with than a small number of fully-functioning ones. After a couple of passes, he checked his rear camera to find a Crossbone-based suit was following him, the namesake thruster straining at full power to keep up with him. Sighing, Iggy looped his far more agile jet behind the earnest tailgater, who began desperately attempting to halt his momentum- a task made far harder when Iggy blasted apart his rocket column and left him drifting through the battlefield. After all, the unit was no longer a threat; there was no need for Iggy to add insult to injury.

Taking a tour through the debris field, he fired blindly as he maneuvered through it. In doing so he inflicted minor damage on a number of machines, but more importantly he broke up the junk they were using as cover and made it that much harder to actually avoid shots. On his way through, he passed by Chisame- though he didn't know it at the time, of course- clipping the top half of her tactical arms with the megasonic cannon. Then, as fast as he had appeared, Iggy vanished into the battlefield.

Yuki Pulled her Beam Saber out of the chest of a Perfect Gundam and kicked off of it, letting it spark a bit before exploding, then sighed. Kyo's little outburst had sparked a few to form 'hunting packs' and cruse the debris for people waiting it out.

People like Yuki, though in Yuki's case she was half watching to gather data and half staying out of it cause she really didn't like Battle Royals that much, to chaotic for her tastes. Ether way, Yuki had found her self needing to defend her self which she did far better then the Hunting Pack that found her had anticipated, and wound up wrecking the three of them despite her being vastly out gunned by the Perfect Gundam, Victory 2 Buster Assault and Verde Buster, though, much to her personal disdain she did have to use the Wings of Light to do it. She really didn't want to have had to use any of the special system in her Gunpla this early.

Kyo growled, Faith had lost a bit of the color on the back of its head from the kick. Trying to follow it with their eyes, kyo found that they couldn't. Kyo smirked and switched visual spectrums for their sensors, now boosting after the gunpla. All of the trusters were working overtime as Kyo followed behind it. while Faith might have not had the speed advantage, faith also only really needed to take short cuts. It wasn't long before Kyo was following rather hot behind the beetle. "Parlor tricks like paint like that and raw speed will only get you so far!" Kyo called out as he started to deliver fire from the beam rifle in his hand, the buster rifle holstered for now.

The beam rifle fire was astoundingly accurate as the custom closed in at full burn from every thruster pushing it after the enemy. "All those tricks wont save you when the back of your gunpla looks like a Christmas tree on the thermal!" kyo shouted out, firing a barrage on the back of the beetle Gunpla, aiming to hopefully disable a few thrusters and force him into a fight.

Chuck, meanwhile, had slipped into serious mode. Which just meant no talking, mostly ignoring whatever comms came through, just focusing on handling combat as best he could. With proper threat assessment thanks to his minimap, skills at managing more than one thing at the same time thanks to his time spent playing real time strategy games and very good manual aim plus some level of understanding of how to survive fake firefights from playing first person shooters, the Axis Zeong carefully drifted along the best covered areas, keeping away from any obviously dangerous enemies while raining down endless firepower on anything unlucky enough to catch his attention.

Usually, resource management made his strategy a tad more difficult. Having all his weapons hooked to the generator meant they were more powerful and didn't have ammo limits but he had to manage the drain, be conservative with their use. None of that here. He was free to just go gung-go with 22 mega particle weapons, and he hadn't even used the head gun or the gigantic cannon on the mobile suit's chest. The result was an almost constant stream of beams erupting from the Axis Zeong like a deadly light show, destroying whatever came into its rather ample killzone, didn't matter who or what it was, and still managing to go practically unnoticed thanks to the general chaos.

Verdi's Masurao, due to its melee focus, was a particularly sweet prey and soon found itself with a fleet-sinking amount of mega particle blasts headed towards it, fired in a pattern that covered areas where the machine might dodge towards before moving the beams closer to its current position rather than simply shooting where it was standing. And it wasn't just a single volley, oh no, Chuck kept the attack up, though always mindful of any other approaching threats. 12 mega particle cannons, plus a constant barrage from 10 mega particle machineguns, all of it fired towards the same mobile suit in different angles of approach.

Of course, you can't exactly use parlor tricks to catch up to something traveling at relativistic speeds. There weren't any shortcuts- unless that stupid angel-looking edgejob with its magic marker paintscheme was capable of INSTANTANEOUSLY tunneling through several tons of solid rock while also picking up speed. So Joe simply pointed the beetle legs that remained in Mobile Suit mode backward and fired at the unit's wings with the piddling slug cannons, performing an aileron roll to dodge the pink bullets and speeding off into the asteroid field- the mech shifting to darker and darker shades of red. Honestly, that pilot was lucky that there was a waiting period on some of the parts he needed to

"Damn, you idiots got SPOILED with all those fancy mobile suits! All those stupid systems, laser cannons, beam weapons, and spacemagic made you forget what robots are all about!"

Verdi quickly acted as she saw the large amount of cannon fire headed towards her. Seeing as there was no choice she activated the GN field and started to weave between the fire as she backed away. It was aimed all at her she supposed that she looked like a easy target considering the sheer melee focus of her suit. "Nice try but no dice" Verdi called over she was prepared for situations like this and while she may not be able to cut beam like the Sengoku Astray of Nielson's she was able to do something completely similar yet fundamentally different as she took out the physical katana like blades of the susanowo in the souten form she quickly spun it around in front of her while it was exactly cutting the beam it was able to with the GN field to divert the beams in front of her to other places. This was one secret of her gunpla it was and functioned similar to a Masurao but it carried its secrets. This was the Sengoku Trace System allowing her to briefly copy the abilty to cut beam fire from the sengoku astray with the use of other system rather than a coating around the weapons.

Unfortunately for Verdi, "weaving" does not really work when 12 continuous beams are converging on your position from multiple angles thanks to flexible emitters which were obviously there, making the beams move around from the start. As if that wasn't enough, 10 rapid-fire mega particle guns, blasting continuously and from slightly different positions, covered the general area around the Masurao in enough firepower to destroy a fleet of battleships. One can weave around a few punches or a couple rocks, not a storm, and a storm was what the Masurao had to deal with. Backing away wasn't much good either, since it didn't actually move it out of the way.

As the power limits were off in this academy for whatever reason, Chuck was able to simply keep the barrage up, firing a total of 22 reactor-fed, high power mega particle weapons towards the single target, meaning its GN field shouldn't be able to hold for long. And sure, spinning a sword around to deflect beams was nice, but this was, once again, 12 of those converging from different angles at once. Even if their source was the same the different heights they were mounted at on the Axis Zeong's body and their flexible joints meant the sword could not possibly block all of them at the same time by virtue of their different approach.

It was as simple as timing it so each beam would swing towards the Masurao at a moment where the double bladed sword would not be handy to block them. Nevermind 10 machineguns emptying at it at once, putting shots everywhere. You'd need an actual wall to stop that, and even then the sheer amount of shots could potentially bring it down anyway. Sure, the Masurao could try to approach and get into melee range, but that'd just mean getting closer to the more than 20 guns shooting at it at once and nothing can block things forever, especially on the approach, and Axis Zeong's weapons were its entire reason to be: dominance through firepower. These were not just thrown into the frame, these were carefully made to destroy things as best as possible, and they were very good at it.

It was bound to happen that she would be overwhelmed still she managed to divert the majority of it downward with that she launched upward sure her shoulder armor plating was broken a bit revealing one of the GN Vulcans hidden behind it but it was minimal and she was still in this. The person had heavy fire power that much was for certain and it was bound to have something like a overly large beam saber as well. But there was something that made this particular model of hers special. Flying upwards dodging more blasts that came her way she quickly got up and with that disappeared into the recently made rubble. The rubble would be taking a majority of the fire and no matter what even if the head was detach it was not as flexible as the masurao. This was made evident by it pulling off near impossible bends and maneuvers that was just not possible with the larger frames like the zeong.

Yuki had resumed watching the battle as it unfolded, drifting a bit.

She saw Kyo chancing a beetle looking Gunpla now. She never understood why people based thing on bugs.

She was more interested in the fight with Verdi and a beam spamming Zeong. 'Such is the price we pay for being more inclusive' Yuki thought. Beam Spamming had kinda died off when the energy limits where introduced, it also raised the 'bar of entry' as from what she'd heard from friends that actually paid attention to the pro tournament scene, the then new rule really didn't have the effect they where looking for. Sure it curbed the 'spam massive amounts of particles to win' at lower levels, but at the national, and world levels it didn't change anything. Those fighters ether came up with new systems or changed load outs to make the energy limit as moot as possible, if anything it only made it harder for new blood to break into the pro circuit, and if her friends reactions where anything to go by, having some newbie break in to the pro circuit and cause a ruckus by doing way better then anyone would think they would is just good for every level of the Gunpla world.

The down side to all that was 'no skill' Beam Spammers came back, which, is why the I-Fields on her Gunpla bounce the beams back at the person firing them. Which made her wish she'd installed something like that in the Gunpla she was using now, but the thought never crossed her mind to do so.

Yuki how ever had had enough of watching this Beam Spammer picking on Verdi due to her Gunpla seemingly not having a ranged option, it smacked to much of cowardice, so Yuki was going lend a hand to her friend. She reactivated her Wings of Light and brought the Zeong in to range of her 'Ki' Blasters, opting to come at it from behind, once in range, she deactivated the Wings of Light and switched to Super Mode. Probably didn't need the attack power boost, but she figured why not, she'd already used one special system already might as well use another, that and this would be an excellent opportunity to see how effective switching between a 'Speed' and 'Power' Mode would work for her, or if she should just pull it and go with the Hyper Mode.

Once in Super Mode she immediately opened fire on the Zeong with numerious rapid fire shoots from the Beam Cannons, in what was probably a rare display of some one using the Palma Fiocina Beam Cannons the right way. As ranged weapons.

Iggy pulled up out of the debris field, jamming the button assigned to his electromagnetic armor and absorbing a stray beam shot. It was no force shield, but once you got the timing down it was more or less the closest thing. He observed the field; it looked as if the contestants had quickly thinned out, the Mocks reduced to a handful of heavily-damaged units on both sides. He half-listened to the field's radio chatter, picking up a number of scrambled transmissions from some overconfident rube who hated Denmark for some reason. Apparently they had decided to talk trash without first switching off their suit's active defenses. True, that showed they were cautious, but it also defeated the whole point of trash-talk.

He skimmed the arena boundaries, wondering whether it was time to drop an OPTION bit and get to picking off the crippled units when a familiar unit caught his eye. Silver with red highlights, a hooked nose, a pair of what appeared to be pontoons coming off of the sleek primary body. He switched on his mic, able to guess the pilot's callsign well enough.

"Silver Hawk Beta, this is Salamander, do you copy?"
A brief, tense pause, followed by the brief crackle of an opening channel and a girl's voice.
"I read you, Salamander. How long's it been since our last go?"

Lutia Feen. Callsign: Silver Hawk Beta. Youngest member of Team Darius, alongside the equally skilled Sameluck Raida and Riga Practica. World-class pilot. A hell of a woman.

"Half a year at the least. Where's your team?"
"Running sims, I'd guess. I see you finally took Raida up on that offer."
"Man cannot survive on flight sims alone, y'know. Though I wish his recommendation had reached somewhere a little more... you know."
"Gotta start small, flyboy.", a trio of bits dropped from the ship's underbelly and began to orbit it, "Care to tango?"
"I thought you'd never ask."

The pair shot off into the darkness, guns blazing.

Now that kyo was directly on his tail, it was clear the bug had an advantage in a straight line. Putting up their shield and deploying it, using the gunpla's left arm, kyo then rolled right, letting the pink energy destroy the bullets as they attempted to pass through the shield. Maneuvering hard to throw off the beetle's aim, Kyo reversed the direction of their gunpla, disengaging and moving in closer to the giant station. They were a bit of a fan of WW2 as a settomg. and recognized how badly things could go if the beetle realized the same situation. Kyo needed to eliminate that threat from existing and did so by closing in towards an opening on the station.

Iggy and Lutia's souls blazed with passion, their dogfight like flashes of lightning across a blackened sky. For every wave shot, a megasonic pulse. For every heatseeker, a vulcan burst. The duplicate beams of Iggy's OPTIONs were absorbed by the Silver Hawk's bits, their translucent surfaces glittering like diamonds in the night.

It was beautiful, in a way. A perfect match of speed and power, a twinkling waltz of afterburners and gunfire. This was it. This moment. This adrenalin. Hearts burning, eyes bright, the invisible thread called rivalry that entwined the two pilots, drawing them closer, driving them to greatness! These were the battles a pilot lived for!

Then, as swiftly as the match had begun, it reached its conclusion.

A.N. SYSTEM, FULL POWER.
GENESIS DRIVERS, LOCK.

The Genesis' bits folded open. Based on the Gundam X's Satellite Cannon, they were the Silver Hawk Genesis' signature armament. Were this a normal battle, they'd require another machine to latch onto and leach power from, but with the battlefield as saturated as it was with Plavsky particles the machine could simply gather a charge from ambient radiation.

"A.N. Buster, fire!"

Luckily for Iggy, the cannon had a second or so of startup time, his opponent had forgotten to turn off comms, and he was flying a machine built for speed and maneuverability above all else. He cut his main thrusters and dove as fast as he could, only barely avoiding the blast as he switched on his electromagnetic armor. Even so, his damage readout told him that the Lord British's tailfin and the entirety of its upper armor had been melted into unusable slag simply by being near the blast. He flicked a button on his readout, ejecting the now-worthless layers of plating. Given the circumstances, this was actually very minor damage- if he had pulled out a second later, there wouldn't have been a speck of Lord British left to pilot. Iggy streaked beneath the Genesis, launching a heatseeker from his upwards-facing missile rack directly into his opponent's rear engine. With that, the duel was all but finished.

"The Buster this early? Those teammates of yours are making you sloppy, Feen."
"Hey, girls these days gotta be aggressive, you know?", the A.N. Buster roared for another ten seconds or so before slowly dying down, leaving the craft drifting in space.
"Salamander?"
"Yeah?"
"Be a peach and finish me off, would you?"
"Can do, Beta."

Little did either of them know that the missed blast's trajectory just happened to send it burrowing through A Baoa Qu on a near-perfect intercept course with Kyo. All Kyo would likely see from his current location was a nearby wall of rock suddenly and violently giving way to a blue-white beam of death; he'd likely need not only the ability to nigh-instantaneously change his velocity, but also the ability to detect the blast within the rock before it even arrived. It was serious trouble, pure and simple.

With all the rock infront of them, kyo saw it turn red and immediately knew something nasty was on the other side. Only energy weapons would leave such a trace. High energy like that would melt rock like such, giving them a split second to react. Time enough to shift all reactor output to the wings of no god. Just as the beam broke through, Kyo had gotten his shield up and activating by the time the blast hit. The entirety of the gunpla shaking as the plavasky particals around it thickened and lessened the impact still By the time the beam had died down, both the shield and the gun were sparking and the Faith had to throw them away.

They exploded shortly afterwards and kyo began to let the plavasky particals build. The XS-Faith had been cooked rather well, scorched in some areas and the bits of armor that hadn't been blocked by the shield seemed to have suffered some melting. Thankfully the wings were designed to be both armor and had come out rather ok. Kyo's hands were shaking, they had survived that but probably wouldn't survive another without some kind of forewarning. Shaking it off, Kyo swapped out to the twin buster rifle and split it apart into two separate cannons. determined not to let a cheap shot like one straight through a station that they couldn't possibly be seen throu..... Right... Whatever the reason, a buster never goes unanswered, Kyo's thoughts trailed off, hoping the suit would cool down in the atmosphered insides of the hole. That meaning that the atomosphere was spilling into the void through the hole. Kyo now flew down that hole gaining speed quickly, looking forwards with their gunpla, a single buster half aimed forwards in preparation for whatever may lay on the other side.
