[OOC] The Magic Apprentice(s) (REBOOT)

The interest skyrocked with enough people quickly so here is the OOC

In Modern times, Magic has had an impact on many people, Now a-days when a person is deemed ready by their parents they are given a choice, go to work with their parents or find something else to work for. There was tales of a Master of Magic near the town, living an a supposed 'abandoned castle' in the forest. Those who wished to become his apprentice their first challenge would be to find him, the second would be to survive reaching the castle. Only then after testing their determination would they begin their training, Training to become a master of magic.

There are Tournaments that Masters put their apprentices in every few years as to both train their students, and to allow them to have rivals which would help their drive to become masters.

Rules

1. Listen to the GM and Co-GM's we will give advice and assistance, and listen to what you wish to say but our word at the end is final
2. No apprentice knows magic instantly, they maybe experienced it in their past, like seeing or was hit by it, but they can't do it themselves.
3. This roleplay is based on a long period time frame, there will be a few time skips here and there.
4. will add rules as needed (never needed this hider before but after 1 person from last time..)

Note: Previous members will all have a better chance at naming a color to a type, for sticking with the roleplay as long as they did and still are, so they have a lot of right to make a choice, otherwise colors will be named as first served. if base color is named then (like i did) then the Light/Dark (color name) will be similar, and Mix colors will have the mixed of the base ones.

Backstory:
Mecca comes from a family of magic users. However she's the first to decide to learn how to use magic since her grandpa had shown her magic when she was young. So when she heard about the master out in the woods she left a letter for her parents and grandparents telling of her plans and she took off in the middle of the night.
Magic Color and Meaning:
Red-Wild, with a wild spirit and a firey nature she's prone to being wild and reckless.
Primary Source of Magic:
Her primary source of magic is anything wild or free around her. She's almost tied in with the wild world around her, due to magic being in her blood she also has a source of magic in that's almost like a sphere but it's difficult for her to grasp.
Other: She carries around a lighter and also brought her guitar with her.

wow lol. so your primary source of magic is outside of her own body? normally it would be something inside lol. sense it's a lot harder to use magic from outside one's own body.. especially red colored magic, sense it'll like to whip at her a lot.

hm.. we have 2 CS being worked on, and 1 having been made, though of course not to sure about source of magic lol.

Personally it would be best to come up with some eternal form of source for primary source or at lest put something in the CS stating a type of eternal source if your doing primary outside source. you still have to store magic inside even if you are using the magic outside. because using another source for your magical energies isn't a beginner way to use magic. It is a more advance method in order to conserve magical energies.

So book i would recommend either changing it or stating another source as well. especially sense a majority of the rp their to be expanding their 'magic muscles' and they can't do that if they have none inside.

I can't wait to see Eklispe and GingerBoi CSs.

The same goes for RomanAria, Wilsonturner, ClocktowerEchos, and Acient Amen. would mention but already used 3.. to many mentions and it wont work, which saddens me lol.

Backstory: Mordecai has always been a fighter, among sorts, not only in his personality but also physical fighting. When people messed with his friends you have messed with him and that shows in his personality where he can switch from a friendly, loyal person to a true warrior with bravery that can be mistaken for foolery
Magic Color and Meaning: Purple. A mix of red and blue magic combining the trickery and intelligence of blue and the brute force of red.
Primary Source of Magic: WIP (I'm actually not sure what this means or what I'm supposed to derive magic from, help plz xD)

First off talent is messed up.. I guess I have to explain it again for all new comers (sigh) lol.

Talent is type of magic your LEARN EASIER. it's not what magic you use, it's simply what you learn best. for Everyone will learn Every magic. understand?

The Magic Color and meaning may need reworked as well... because it doesn't really make any sense there. Talking about intelligent and brute force when REd and blue aren't those. Red is wild, it doesn't take kindly to being controlled, it'll fight the user when they try to use more (think hard mode learning magic), blue is more calm, it'll fight still but wont fight insanely. (think normal mode learning magic) and currently green is pretty much easy mode learning magic. Not including the unnamed colors atm.

Basically the color and meaning is How the magic reacts to things, it's regards to the magic's own personality basically.

Source of magic is where he derives his magic from. after he goes through the ritual that they must go through in order to allow magic to pass through their bodies, they will an internal supply of magic that they now have access to. (think mana but not mana) In the old rp i had some people who have a Center point of magic, like a sphere of magical energies in the core of their being that they drew their magic from. While another had magical threads almost like vanes throughout their body that they drew their magic from. This mixed with the color/meaning will affect how your character's magic reacts when you try to use it.

If that makes any sense.. like i have said i suck at explanations lol. if another member from the original rp was on then they may be able to explain it better.

The color and source was ideas i thought i would add to the CS because they technically was already doing it in the original rp, only didn't have that much meaning behind them, where now there is more information being shown to explain some things.

Backstory:
Alex is the son of an MMA fighter and a Doctor. At the young age of 5, his mother taught him how to fight MMA style. Thinking he would follow in her footsteps, while his father taught him all about medicine. It was hard to keep up his studies in both fields, but it seemed fate had other plans for him. His grandfather on his mother’s side visited him on his 18th birthday. As soon as he saw Alex, he knew he wouldn’t be a MMA fighter or a Doctor, but something much greater. His grandfather told him he could see Magic around Alex's body, a gift only those who poses magical powers have. He then asked Alex if any elements stood out to him.

Alex couldn’t think of any, but then he realized how much he loved rain storms. Not because it brought a cool breeze or the rain, but because he loved watching the lightning dance in the sky. His grandfather told him of a powerful magic user in the forest he explained where it was and what challenges he would face. Alex was scared, but knew if he wanted to learn more about the magic his grandfather talked about. He would need to find this great magic user and learn from them.

Alex was skeptical at what his grandfather told him, until his grandfather snapped his fingers and a flame appeared on the tip of his fingers. Alex was dumb founded and when he confronted his parents about what his grandfather could do, they shared with him a massive bomb shell. His mother could wield magic. His mother used Magic to quicken herself to get on top of the game of the MMA world, while his father had the choice to learn magic he was one of the stubborn ones that believed in scientific reasons and modern medicine. He still believed in magic, but he knew he could put a scientific outlook in the reason why normal people can use magic and how it works. His parents told him he had a choice: go to the master and learn from them or stay home and live a normal life. Alex wanted to learn more about magic and his capabilities

Primary Source of Magic: Magical Current: Think about how electronic current run through wires, but instead magic run through his nervous system.
Other: Alex carries with him a medical kit, sports tape, his IPod, and a note book to write down anything and everything he sees as noteworthy.

Backstory: When Edwin was a kid, he has had his personalities take over his body at times when Edwin was about to do something. Throughout his life only one personality has formed every four years so right now he has 3. His first personality only came whenever he got into fight which came at the age of 4. His second was acrobatic so Edwin overcame many obstacles that other 8 year olds couldn't overcome. Now his third one, the most unpredictable, could run a bit faster(not much)than the average man and only came when Edwin felt intimidated (He is very cautious and fearful). But for some strange reason the fourth one hasn't formed yet, even though he's 16.

Magic Color and Meaning: Purple- Mysterious and dynamic, it is very unpredictable if it could be positive or negative since it makes it's own decisions.

Primary Source of Magic: Edwin's source of magic would be his mind where all his personalities live. The source is connected to the peripheral nervous system which is made up of the nerve fibers that branch off from the spinal cord and extend to all parts of the body, including the neck and arms, torso, legs, skeletal muscles and internal organs.

Other:
Ricky- the angry and violent personality of Edwin
Solano- is the acrobatic one
Miller- is the fearful one

It's not called Mana in this world, just magic/magical energy.
you very much so messed up with the source of magic.
Magic will replenish itself in one's own Body when they rest, just like one's stamina would replenish when they take a break from exercising. at one point they can take energy that exists in stuff around and absorb it but that is advance magic to use.
Source of magic is where they draw their magic from once they go through the special ritual to allow magic to flow through them. Some people it can be like Vanes of energy that is throughout their body, it could be a specific shape at the core of themselves, etc....

i like the concept of the personalities, yet they aren't going to entirely change his phyiscal abilities, just how he acts.
Magic color and meaning, doesn't relate to the person, it relates only to how the magic is. basically it's the magic's personality not his.
Interesting his source of magic being in his mind... does it take any specific kind of shape or form? i think yours is the closet to getting that line correct though need to be bit more specific is all, don't need to say that he transfers it from his mind to his hands, at one point they can do that with their entire bodies so there is no need for that.
Note: make sure you are not thinking he has access to any kind of magical energies yet. everyone only gets to start using magic after the ritual and even then it's somewhat slow process to learn and exhausting.

Ok, sorry for that. I looked up the physical, psychological, and spiritual meaning of the color. might have looked too deep in the meaning of the color. as for the source of magic, could it be the electric current coming from ones core or the atoms in his body since atoms have electrons and he can some how pull the electrons out to create his lightning? or am I still off? sorry, I wanted to give him some power, but also have the power have a draw back as well.

well everyone is going to learn every kind of magic minus the forbidden ones, just some people will learn others better, like yours will learn the element of lightning better than you would learn the others from his talent. which they all will be starting out the exact same, magic-less seeking to learn magic. they'll begin with the exact same training set. after they pass the first challenge given during training will it start to become diverse and learn more than simply magic control.

For source of magic that's a lot closer than your CS post. because their not going to instantly start taking magic from all around them into their bodies. they'd pop like a balloon sense no way they could hold it in, nor stop it if it started to happen because of their lack of control.

sense i want people to make more in regards to these. Currently i only have two prime examples thanks to the original roleplay, wish had more lol. Their source of magic will be where they pull their magic from within themselves or at lest one of the beginning methods. for some it's spread throughout their body like vanes or currents, some it's at the core of simply their bodies, while other it's core of who they are. one with good explaining and imagination could probably give more and better examples.

I might join if I get bored enough, but I have beef with one thing:

I am never, ever, ever, ever going to be an anime character.

I can roleplay alongside someone else's anime character, but I will never be one. I dislike anime in general, but I'm fair enough, and won't refuse to play with other anime characters. I just won't be one.

So as long as you don't force me to be an anime character, with an anime appearance, then we'll be good.

And my character will totally make fun of anyone who uses anime physics, if I join, so just saying.

so I was thinking of taking it to a sort of scientific level. where Alex harnesses the atoms in his body since the human body has seven billion billion billion atoms and the human body replaces atoms in a different time slot for different body parts. for example: The lining in stomach and intestine every 4 days, The Gums are replaced every 2 weeks, The Skin replaced every 4 weeks, The Liver replaced every 6 weeks, The Lining of blood vessels replaced every 6 months, The Heart replaced every 6 months,The Surface cells of digestion, top layer cells in the digestion process from our mouth through our large bowel are replaced every 5 minutes. or am I still looking too deep into this?
